9 pointsI put the rear hubs on today. Finished painting the rear wheels and went for the maiden voyage. Only thing left is the bodywork and paint on the hood.

9 pointsPainted the old nasty white hub caps on the C105. Regal Red of course. Kind of a test to see if it will stick to the plastic… So far so good. Seems to have adhered well…

8 pointsA lot of folks here are great gardeners with their veggie and flower gardens. @Lane Ranger is one that comes to mind. I used to have a kick butt veggie garden but never did so well with flowers. I never tire of Mother Natures gardening skills. I took a ride out back this morning with the intention of snapping a few pictures. I didn't have my glasses and the sun was washing out the screen so I just snapped 8-10 pictures in the direction of the wild flowers. I figured that some would turn out good. I went back inside and checked them out. Not a single picture of the flowers. But I did have 8-10 pictures..............of my face. In order to avoid nauseating everyone I just deleted them and went out back again with my glasses to try again. This time I was successful. I don't recall seeing this amount of wild lupine out there last year. Butterflies are attracted to them and we definitely have plenty of those. Let's see some more of Mother Natures, or your work, where you live.

7 pointsI never thought I'd consider selling my 50.5 Super Stock Puller but I don't have the time to run him like I used to. I have both a Midwest Super Cub Spooled rear as well as a brand new fine splined carrier and axles. Tractor will come with all the weights and two sets of extra pulling tires (three sets total). I have a set of Lawntec "s", Vogel VM09's, and a set of 10 year old, never run, side relieved, hardened, Dick Cepeks. I don't have to sell but if I can get the right price, someone can enjoy him as much as I have. Shoot me a message and let me know if you would like to talk price. Thank you, Gregg

6 pointsGood day for the horses, in between running hvac calls, (I was on call this weekend) I spread some fresh millings around the horse stable. Even had time to take the kids for a spin! Great weekend!!

6 pointsStarted on a bit of front blade maintenance and a bit of a test. Gloss front paint. Lubed everything. And… New concrete driveways this year for two of the three I plow… so going to try a pvc wear bar. Previous asphalt drives were crap so didn’t care… metal worked fine… now I’m gonna care… Had pvc in garage from another project so it’s a free test… have enough for five 4” wide by 42” long sections… I’m guessing it’s gonna wear pretty fast, but I tip the blade as far forward as it can and will run it “light”, so we’ll see… Will post completed job when the paint dries and I get her mounted up…

6 pointsIt is supposed to be, yes. It's to aid in steering on uneven ground. Also when pulling and your front wheels are just in the air enough you cant steer.

6 pointsI made up this adapter to offset the hitch ball so I can more easily see the side of my trailer as I back it into the storage building. Made parking the trailer up tight to one side very easy.

6 pointsBecause on Friday i got little Gravel.. The Beast help me save ma Back. There is still a lot of handmade Job. this was the first working Day sine i begun the Backhoe Project. While ho hydraulic hoses be available it acts just as Counterweight. but it looked pretty Cool. Than on Sa at about 10:00 the Paint arrived, so i can continue a little bit on the Backhoe But Firstly the Horse got it‘s Seat time, because today is a May prayer from the traditional costume association. So even the Mayor comes to our village, there all should look clean and nice for that Event. Firstly i mowed my Areals and let still a little untouched meadows for the Bees. Than Mat’l an me picked our Trimmer and walk arround the whole Areal and clean out the Edges and after that pict arround the Agave. I still decide to use again the Side discharge covers open because of lot‘s of rain the Day‘s before, the grass was still little too Wet for mulching, but the Horse did it‘s job great. I while mowing i played a little with the Throttlesettings and found the best Engine RPM for a clean cut will be between 2700 and 2900 RPM now with the little Larger pulley. The Predator grunts nicely and still worked without stalling. the releveled Entry to the Barn with the Gravel was a good idea, so i the Mowerdeck no more touches the ground while liften when i moved in or out of the Barn. Before it touches gently the edge of the Exit. I let sit the Horse outside the Barn, while i want doing the Paintjob because there was a little Sun yesteday. The Horse needs urgently a Pressurewash after that Tasks, but the Mowerdeck still has nearly no grass under it in compare to the sideway’s closed Deck. I need urgently the Watertank filled to Pressurewashing the Horse after such Work. After all that was Done i go and checked my Paintschema. I taped the Areas on the Backhoe who needed Painted. The yellow Paint i ordered was a real pain for me, much too thin and a worse content of Pigments. A real bad Decision i took, but my other seller was out of „Rapsgelb“ yellow how the paint is named. For that little Yellow you can see i needed all 4 Rattlecans i ordered emptied on 20 passes. My other Paintbrand took just 3 passes in 1/6 of the needed time but However. Now several Tasks still must be done. build the Side tilting mechanism and mount the Hydraulic Cylindre to it’s final place, get the Hosings and install them, construct the outtrigger mount. I planed the outtrigger Beam with the ability for changeable Tyres, to move the backhoe arround even if it was not mounted on the Tracta. For the Hydraulics i thinkering between two options. Option 1 is a self propellered own Hydraulic System attached on the Rear PTO to be independent of the Tracta. The dis here is that the Gearbox with the hydraulic pump comes that close to the PTO that i must remove each time the Trailerhitch to be able to Work. A uncomfortable way to go. Option 2 is using the allready installed Hydraulic Pump on the Tracta with 2 Quick mounts on the Tracta‘s rear End. but they don‘t exists and the Attaching is dang close. I have to see how i can do this. For the moment i like to choose the option2, because the Engine still must running when the Backhoe is in use. so the simplest will be the Option2 with the plus i can later still adapt the external Hydraulic pump option even simpler with the Hydraulic quick connectors, so on this option i be more flexible later. at least the Horse get into the Barn as the first needed machine.

5 pointsTrina, her Mom and I spent a great 4 days getting stuff done around the acreage. Cutting splitting and moving wood. Building things. Yard work. Etc... Today I used the Cinnamon Horse C160 to move the wood splitter from one work place to another in the forest.

5 pointsSometimes you win, right? Just last week was looking at a tractor and the seemingly competent owner told me the engine was non-functional--took him at his word and he accepted my offer based on the rest. At home, curious after unloading it, I gently pulled the engine through a few turns to check for compression and any obvious internal issues and it seemed ok. Unfroze the choke cable then set it and the throttle, switched the key to "Run", and it started on the third pull. With a smile on my face, I shut it off quickly and put it aside until I can go through the carb, oil, plug, belts, transmission, etc. I won't bore all y'all with the number of times I've proved to myself that the naysayers were, in fact, correct.

5 pointsI dont know if I'm the only one, but have you ever been told something wont work? Then you tried doing it anyways just to see first hand? Ya so I tried it anyways. A bit of time and money spent to learn a lesson. I'm not sure what the lesson is yet because I havent put it to use. The outcome will be known by mid- week.

4 pointsExtensive cleaning this whole weekend. Driveways, wagons and tractors oh my !

4 pointsI think fiddle brakes are a great idea. Are you going to fit a bar to join the pedals for normal use? You don't want to stamp on the brakes in a hurry and turn left/right unintentionally. Been there. Done that.

3 pointsFor some time, I have always become quite .. annoyed, by the use of the term 'gas motor' or 'electric engine'. An engine being 'a machine which converts linear force into motion'. A motor being defined as 'a rotating machine that transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy'. However, in the case of this Empire B-33, it's better related to a solenoid engine.. but .. it's not a solenoid. So, what we have here is a 1929 Empire B-33 'electro-magnetic engine'. The model ran from 1929-1931. So far as I can find. It was mainly intended to sit and run in the store front window, driving the toy accessories of the day. It wouldn't require the attention of the steam engines. There is a 110v AC to 28v step down transformer in the 'boiler'. A set of breaker points just behind the dummy valve gear trigger 4 electromagnets inside the 'bedplate'. A rocker in there is then connected to the main rod and a hinge, simply being pulled back and forth. So.. an 'electric engine' indeed? No 'electrical' part on this machine rotates. Simply an iron plate on a hinge. To the crankpin and a set of breaker points. It flies on main current. Tamed it down with a Variac. Hoping it'll run alright with a few of my accessories at show time. I usually run a pair of Empire steam engines at the tractor show. But seen way too many people crossing over the rope fences and don't want to know what will happen when inevitably someone gets burnt.. I suppose I'm looking way too deep into this. Was able to get it going with little trouble. It's something else to see and also to smell.. the burning ozone reminds me fondly of a classic Lionel train set.

3 points@Maxwell-8& @Tractorhead As far as I know there are no registration requirements for our beloved W/H tractors . We use them and drive them . We can not legally operate on the roads , but I have never been stopped. Laughed at , waved at and even gotten a thumbs up. Who wants to mess with an old bald head man drive a Wheel Horse down the street ?

3 pointsNot long after I came to live where I am now, chap who lived opposite was mowing the verge outside his property. Old fashioned walk behind rotor mower. Engine was making a noise it shouldn't have been doing. As I was bending over to listen to the engine, he said, "There's plenty of oil in". And pulled out the dipstick to show me before I could stop him. There was plenty of oil in, but not as much as before. As s fair amount got me full in the face. BTW. He was a Fire Station Safety Officer.

3 pointsLupine is a sign of remnant dune sand being pushed off Lake Michigan Bob! Starke County had the worse sand erosion levels in the State of Indiana. They use to get the most wind break money applied to local farmland! You should have those lupine pics blown up and framed!

3 pointsFinally some updates. Barely spent any time on the shed the last few months with all the other work going on about the place. We managed to finally get two days off, so threw the roof on. It was a bit nerve wracking getting the valleys cut correctly as I had no spare tin! It's starting to blend into the countryside nicely now. Will order up some windows next, make the doors, then paint it - just pick away over the summer.

3 pointsMuch depends on your soil. I like to plow because the tiller only stirs up the top few inches of soil. I might run the tiller over it after plowing as deep as I can get it.
-
3 pointsMy newest new. The coil wire actually goes through the PTO interlock switch, but I didn't draw that in.

3 pointsI've kinda been on a low keyed search for a set of Gravely wheel weights/dual adapters for the front wheels. I recieved a message last night. A guy says he has a pair with 2 extra wheels just 5 miles from home. It would be nice to have some extra weight up front. I snagged this pic from Google.

3 pointsYou guys are going to love this: So, I have been doing a butt load of work with the old '67 L-157. Made a road where there was no road. Brought in dirt, gravel, rock, stone, (over 50 trailer-fulls of dirt alone). This path did not exist before, and was just an uncrossable ditch. Ripped a canal all the way up to the house for my pond aerator air hose (4 inch conduit). Then I put the dirt back with my dozer blade. Don
