11 pointsI let the grass go a few too many days so I dug out the old rusty lawn sweeper and swept up about six loads behind the 606.5.
-
7 pointsI popped off this hubcap today and all these grease balls fell out and rolled all over the floor. I chuckled to myself, Wheel Horse Poo!!
-
7 pointsPressure washed my 48 inch SD deck today in preparation for an overhaul...I started a thread under "implements and attachments" to share the progress, and to get advice and help...and maybe help someone else out too.

5 pointsI put the rake on the new Horse. Did pretty good. Needs a bit more tractor weight though.
-
5 pointsI went to son Marks place and picked up my log splitter to work on the tree we cut up yesterday. On the way home this 855 jumped on the trailer. So much for downsizing.
-
5 pointsTook the mower deck off I decided to push a little dirt. The 414 are strong! And... She cleaned up well too! Have more to do this weekend!

5 pointsGot the roof on the new wood shed just in time. A tree blew over into the field where the neighbor was ready to plant cantalopes. I got some help from son and grandson and removed it today.

4 pointsIt's been a good day. Next door has been removing a garden border to replace it with a path. Lots of good soil to dump. Had a word with him and left him my Saxon trailer yesterday. Went round with the Sears this morning and brought the trailer, full of soil home. SWMBO has three large tubs we brought home last year from her sisters farm in Wales. I was going to buy some top soil to fill them. Not now. Spent about 5hrs putting the soil through a riddle. Really good black soil it is. After cleaning out the trailer I put the mowing deck onto the C-125. Showers forecast for tomorrow so mowed green and verges. Aye! It's been a good day.

4 pointsI think it is only dark for like 14 hours on the shortest day of the year here is Chicago.

4 pointsTake a small cold chisel and hit the key from the outside end, toward the transmission. The key is soft metal, don't be afraid to hit it, you can replace it easily. ACE, TSC and Auto Stores have woodruff keys. Use diesel to clean your transmission, and then Denatured Alcohol to "super" clean. Epoxy or almost any liquid metal will seal the holes you drilled. Measure your axles to determine if you have 1" or 1 1/8" diameter axles. There is a conversion chart pinned at the top of this transmission section that will give you all the bearing & seal numbers and crossover numbers. You will want the Chart # 3. If you do decide to open the transmission, this thread will help to put your transmission back together...it has videos.

4 pointsAfter i greased the Frontaxle, i pulled the 656 for a Mowing Ride. It was nearly finished, when 2 young Families with 4 Younger Kids stop by at my Areal and the Kids look curious to the Horse. I see the typically glow in Kiddo‘s eyes and i knew what they liked to ask but they hesitate. I take a stop next to them and the youngest asked very friendly, Hello Sir, can i have a Ride on this beautiful Red Tracta? i answered yes, you can if you learned a small Text and your parents allow. They do surely agree, and the Kids have a lot of Fun on the Horse. This was the first, who asked, so he was the first who was allowed to take a Ride.. after he learned the little Text. After that, the others also will ask a ride. So, ok for me, give them a good Day - but first they must quick learn the right Name of the Red Tracta. it‘s not a John It‘s not a Deere it is a Wheel Horse of course. Each Kid who can say that, was allowed to tale a Ride 😎 they all learned in fract of a second this Text - mission accomplished ! 😂😂

3 pointsYou cant go wrong. I'm thinking I may make a belly mounted grader blade with rippers on it to loosen things up a bit ahead of the rake.

3 pointsWe had a unique wheel for Pontiac as well. That one looked more like an American Torque Thrust mag wheel than the Mag 500. Those mostly we're used on Firebirds, Tempests, and GTO's. We made a unique wheel for Oldsmobile, too, used mostly on the Cutlass and Delta 88. One of my first projects as a new engineer at Motor Wheel was to do a computer aided stress analysis of the 13" look alike Cutlass wheel for the then new front wheel drive X car, called the Omega when it went on sale.

3 pointsI forwarded your compliment to my wife who shot it. This thing really gets attention! I am close to accepting an offer. Funny thing happened an hour ago, A 520H roller is waiting to get out of my trailer. Never thought he would accept my offer.

3 pointsYou be Right Buddy Bear. so i played today a little With my new Toy‘s... firstly i made 2 Mounts for the Cylindres. Drilled in 3 steps 6mm than 12mm than 17mm at least 20mm. Works like a charme, i love my new Toy. after that i make a Cylindre mount out of a 32mm pipe with 6mm thickness so the Bolt thickness will be 20mm that should be enough. Than i welded it onto bottom of the Cylindres. I plan the Hydraulic connections sideway’s of the Beam than i can move the Cylindre as close as possible between the Beam and mount without the danger to touch the hydraulic lines in any way. Than i grinded down the first welded Cylindre mount and rewelded one of the new Mounts i made for one of the new Cylindre. ( they arrived Today) I also get today the Gearbox for the rear Hydraulicpump, but i ordered for a group 2 pump. huh, i have ordered wrong, because i have a group 1 pump - but hey - no problem this can be solved with an Adapter plate.

3 pointsHaha thanks man, I think describing it as a mud mower wasn’t the best choice. Just want a trail rig kinda to get things done in the woods. Light enough not to get bogged down in the mud and stuff and a little quicker than walking.😄

3 pointsDecided to repair the original fender pan… keep it original for a bit longer until I break it for good… A big thank you to @cafoose for offering a metal pan and to @pullstart for volunteering to get it to Michigan from the Big Show… I greatly appreciate you offering!!! I’m guessing it’ll be used by someone else - perhaps @pullstart can expand his Black Hood collection at the show…

3 pointsI agree with the 30wt in the engine bit the K161only takes 1 1/4 quarts (40 oz). I would start with that and then go by the dipstick. 3 and 4 speed transmissions call for 1 1/2 quarts but you won't hurt it with 2. In my K-series Kohlers I use 30w year round . I use 80w90 in the transmission. In 1964 Wheel Horse issues a service bulletin recommending switching to 40w in the transmission. This was to help prevent the slide rails from messing up causing it to lock up in two gear. Shortly after that they revised the rails to achieve a proper fix.

3 pointsAfter some veri-drive maintenance last night, I took a real cruise on “Thirty Five” today. Someone really needs to mow this field! I’m kind of fighting with myself, what to do with the muffler. I wonder why the P.O. Added a 90 and pointed it up...

3 pointsFinally got the etank set up to take the rust off the rear wheels. Hoping for a nice surprise tomorrow!

3 pointsI've been practicing controlled hill climbs on the B-1 bomber.

3 pointsI got all my Wheel Horses out made a lap around the property came back and changed the oil and filter on a couple of them. Also changed the oil in the generator.
-
3 pointsFinished up placing new knife blades on a 42 inch Wheel Horse Sickle Bar Mower knife section. 21 two inch blades and 42 rivets. this was a real rusty sickle so I had to sand off rust and drill each rivet hole after removing the rivets with my Johnson Sickle Servicer. The 7/32 drill bit removes any leftover rivet or debris for easy install of the new blades and rivets.

2 pointsWe've been mulling doing a row of small teeth on a grader.

2 pointsOr i start to play for a longer time with it Jim.... 😂 finished the today‘s step. firstly we have to mow completely arround the house and front + backyard. The grass raises up to 15-18 cm, so the Horse had a hard work today.. after the Mowing Session the Horse and i we took a ride firstly to dump the Grass down to the Forrest and after we be back we had another ride for the dump of the whole Spring- Cut, Kati does in between. Now the Garden looks nice again, but the extreme high Grass by full speed mowing wears the belt relatively heavy. So the 7-9 Horses start to eat belts but didn’t show much impact on RPM at Full throttle @ 3990 RPM. it cuts nice and the side exchange works great. Than lunch and back in the Shed. finalize the Daywork. I welded the 2. Pipe into the pistonrod. First Cylindre is completely ready for mount, so let‘s put it in. i planed to install a arrester mount, to fix the Backhoe when not in use even without hydraulic. arrested by a bolt i.eg. for travelling or for storage released for work. than i begin to plan a bit ahead for the Bucket mount. Here the rest parts of the Cable window will be reused. A double link like on excavators must be done for that. The Rearswingmount is ready for being mounted next steps are build the swing baseplate, weld them onto Angleirons, drilling holes in them to screw it onto the Base platform, Drill the baseplatform up to 22mm left and right to be able to attach it onto the 3 Point on the Tracta. build 2 mounts for the Ellbow cylindre and weld them to the Arm lot‘s of thing to do.

2 pointsAdded the front tires. Already had these, but they look almost new when clean. Most annoying bleeping tires I have ever mounted, but I like how they look. Should gain between 1.5 and 2 inches overall for the deck mods.

2 pointsScary thing is, is that wasnt even the tractor he was driving !!! He smashed the one he was driving into that one! Before he got on it he told me he plows the city sidewalks in the winter. He came down the driveway on the Cub Cadet, and drove right into my Home made tractor and that Lambert that I had just finished restoring. Everything could have been a lot worse. The Cub just had a scratch, the home made just bounced right off, and the Lambert was smashed between the Cub and the curbing on the driveway you can see in the photo. If the curbing wasnt there he would have went right through my neighbors fence.

2 pointsUsual easy day at work, hardest part of the day is figuring quips to pester folks on Red Square! Then i pay the piper for my usual relaxed job by receiving notification of 50 plus units to be tended to. At least it was able to keep untill monday! Got home, pull a print, start a customer print, and grab my 12amp power supply and out to the shop to do some torture testing of headlight lenses. While Im here might just go ahead and wire up the Caballo Diablo LED ornament!

2 pointsThere's a big black crow making quite a nuisance of itself round here. Pinching food put out for the little birds and even trying to get into houses, if a door is left open. So I took one of my shotguns and some cartridges into the workshop. This afternoon it landed on it's usual perch in a big tree at the front of next door's drive. So out of the workshop I ran and with a quick snap shot, (no time to hesitate when dealing with crows) it took off minus a few feathers. We'll see if it has survived in the next day or so. On the light side to give you a smile, Carol's studio is next to the neighbours hedge. About 30ft from the tree. She was in there working on a painting when I fired. Ten foot away from the door. She nearly fell off her chair.

2 pointsAlright!!!! Its done!! 8 bolts for fenders (4 for seat bracket and 4 under seat in middle of fender pan). 4 bolts for tank (two hold downs at front and 2 that bolt in from the bottom above the axles). Of course when I pulled the petcock the grommet tore. The screen was essentially gone, except for what was left in the bore that was doing nothing more than causing more restriction. For around $10 my local hardware store had an exact replacement valve and grommet. Tank was NASTY, but now its sparkly inside. All buttoned up and running like a champ again! Thank you so much for the help. I know it is a simple task but its nice to have others confirm it vs. there being one hidden fastener and ending up cracking the tank or something equally catastrophic! Oh yeah forgot to mention. I just used a little axle grease for the grommet and valve = EASY. Fit like socks on a rooster!

2 pointsWell I am STILL painting wheels. I took the rear wheels off the 875 to paint. Even though I still have not got an engine for it I want it to look good. I put on the spare set of AG tires and wheels I had and well...... I am starting to like how they look. Might just leave them on. I also ordered new throttle and choke cables for the 1075. Looking into getting a new carb for it as well. Seems to be only 2 choices. 15 dollar cheapy or 100 dollar one. Anyone have any thoughts on carbs for the 1075 ? The one on it now I believe to be a replacement. It also leaks from the bowl.
