14 pointsWell, I picked up the 701 and started cleaning it some. I only used a hose and bucket washed it some. I need to remove the hood again and clean the engine up. The serial number is 54817. I checked the gas tank and it was spotless, I was surprised. Fuel shut off valve even turned. Someone in the past replaced the dash with a piece of metal but it still has everything it should except the original key switch. It was replaced with a 5 prong Indak switch, I plan on replacing it. I had to replace a couple wires and hook everything back up. It was unhooked to bypass the switch in the past to get running. I checked engine oil, it was clean, I will be changing it soon. I just wanted to see if it would run. Hooked up a jump box to see if it would turn over and it did. Next IO checked for spark and it had spark. A surprise for sitting for about 5 years or so. Sprayed a little brake clean in the carb and it fired right up. I then added some gas, it took a little bit to start pumping gas but it ran!! It needs tires as the are all rotted and one rear tire has a hole in it about 3 inches long. Was there a factory seat cover/cushion for these? I will gather parts when I can as this is not a top project. There are several others in front of this one. But I can say that I now have a 701!!

14 pointsThe BBT spent a few minutes scraping the main part of the driveway yesterday evening.

12 pointsGot out Clyde (953) installed the grader and used it to clean up the edge of the field for summer mowing at dad’s... Thanks @Shynon again for selling this tractor to me for dad—he really enjoys using it for a variety of tasks. Plowed snow with it throughout the winter, rolled the lawn with it this spring...just plain a useful old machine to have around👍🏻
-
12 pointsWell... I haven't done anything to it other than buy it over FB a few minutes ago, but this is apparently my new project.. I definitely needed it I know nothing about it other than it is complete and comes with another Onan, which I assume to be the original since it has a 20 HP on it now. How big a hole did I get myself into and what should I look out for? I'm picking it up after work tomorrow so will have more info then.

10 pointsGood thing about paint is if you are not happy with the color you can always repaint them ! When I did the 416-8 I used more of a silver color.
-
10 pointsI'm a fan of the skinner tires. More PSI on the ground for traction + the skinny tires allow me to push a tractor thru my doorway so I can store it in my back shop= MORE ROOM. Also they allow me to haul 3 tractors on my trailer instead of 2!

8 pointsWell my son Brandon and I spend some quality time taking his 414-8 from a winter workhouse to a summer work horse. Good times and made some more great memories. Happy to have another generation to appreciate and happy to own a Wheel Horse!
-
8 pointsGot all the new tires put on! Took about an hour and half but got my workout in and little fun with fire so not a bad morning. Kinda wishing I went with more of silver than a grey color on the rims but o'well. This tractor is my main worker so stopping and preventing rust was the main goal. I was surprised at the different stance appearance going with the 9.5" wides over the 7.5" that were on it. Looks like plenty of clearance for chains too all around.
-
8 pointsD_Mac you and I were basically working on the same things today. Life's funny sometimes. I'm planning to get some AG 6-12's for my 12x5 rims just to have around when traction is needed. But I did track down a set of 12x7 rims so I can run some 23x9.5-12 turf tires and got some matching fronts as well. Decided to paint the rims to keep them from rusting while they were bare. Got late so letting them sit overnight. Tomorrow they are going on! Cleaning them up before some light sanding and then paint! Painted and waiting for tomorrow

7 pointsI picked up a 753, needing general knowledge of this machine. It has something wrong with the transmission, gear pattern is wonky, no neutral to be found. And what accessories will fit it? And what general Maintenance should be done? Thanks!
-
7 pointsWell I introduce you to the missus new tractah... B-80 "FlowahPowah" still need to mount new tires and get rims painted and finish the decals but for the most part it's all done!

7 pointsI thought we did?!?!? Inside story here you might enjoy Bhom ... Had a little tractor gathering at my ranch once and I "rented" my 753 to Kev for a little trail ride. He got lost and when we went back to to find him stranded. Only to find him giving mouth to mouth a screaming hot carb! Hey pics don't lie! He thought it was crap in the carb but it was a bad fuel pump! Hotter than hades out and the skeeters! Rest of the story here ...warning very pic heavy! 7 pointsI had fun building this. Odds and ends, and a throttle set-up is needed to complete.
-
7 pointsI also painted the spare set of wheels and tires I have. Tires are cracked, they have tubes in them so hold air fine. I am just not a fan of how the skinny AG tires look. These are 6 x 12's. I had them on the 1075 when I was painting its set of wheels. I like the look of the wider tire.

7 pointsRan Dug over to mom and dads to buzz off their yard real quick(LOVE the hydro on this hill and tight spaces!) Mrs laughed as she sprays tons of grass all over Dug with her push mower, getting sticky starchy grass all over and in places grass would NORMALLY never get! Then home to inventory printing progress over the last week or so, and start a run of 3D/classic and 3d/hubcap heads.

6 pointsGot my sweet 16 out for a ride and brought it back to the shop to wipe it off!

6 pointsThat is a sweet looking 753 you have there, even has the headlights. The attached thread should give you the information you'll need to remove and properly reinstall the shift lever.
-
6 pointsMeant to mention in my post but I found a pretty good deal on the rear tires in case anyone else is wanting a fresh set without breaking the bank. They are Hi-Run 23x9.5-12 turf tires for $34.99 from Lowe's as an online only item I believe. I got two and shipping was free. Can't beat that deal for $76 to your door.

5 pointsJust got my package in the mail from @76c12091520h Hood latch and knob for the 1075. Nice to not hear the hood rattling around!
-
5 pointsWhen you change the transmission oil there is a hump in the bottom center of transmission that prevents it from draining completely. Jack the front end up as high as you can to drain that area. If old oil is filthy or had water in it consider filling tranny with diesel and driving it should in each gear to help clean it up. Then refill with 2 quarts of 80w90w gear oil
-
5 pointswhy didn’t you ask me? I liked it so much I had to give it mouth to mouth to breathe life into it again!
-
5 pointsAny Garden tractor should have a sub-frame to distribute the forces exerted by a front end loader. The subframe on mine is made of heavier material than the tractor's frame and attaches to the rear axle housing and the front of the frame near the front axle.
-
5 pointsIt moves side to side but will it move forward & back? If one of your shift pawls is stuck in gear and the shifter ball popped out of place this would prevent you from getting the tranny into neutral. Best to remove the shifter handle so you can see where the shift pawls are located. Might need to use a screw driver to move them both to the neutral position before reinstalling the shifter.

5 pointsToday, I pick up a 36" deck for my hopefully soon new commando 7. On the way home I passed by the Oevel WH Factory, here in Belgium, which is now the headquarters of Toro Europe.

4 pointsIt's Squonk but I don't think he has nuts... Seriously I thought it was 1763 that's what I have I in my notes but Mike says he comes up "short" with that number but he usually takes it in the shorts... ....oh my I kill me... Seriously I'll have to go out to the shed and look when it ain't raining pitchforks and hammer handles.

4 pointsWhat the heck.... should be able to go into any Napa and say I got an Onan 20 Performer what's the oil filter and they are supposed to be able to whistle off all their filters that fit. Oh ... that's right can find good help anymore ... lookin like you need to come out of retirement. ...

4 pointsTrimmed the edge of the ceramic floor tile in the 1/2 bath and installed a synthetic marble threshold. Will grout the joint tomorrow. Had to trim a scoch off of the bottom of the door as well to clear the threshold. Trying to get a surveyor lined up for our property in Ky later this month, and working on a dirt work permit application for the driveway I want to at least get brush cleared for.
-
4 pointsI also got these ... made out of cigar boxes. Again cant play a lick but thought they were cool. 3 string slide guitar with amp. 4 string acoustic. All made from cigar boxes and sounded great.
-
4 pointsI like the matching color on the engine shroud wire screen. I may borrow that idea D_Mac. I do like the silver on that. Looks real sharp!
-
4 pointsWorking on steep slopes here, I have no Idea how i didn't get killed before using Dug! Its so nice to have that resistance all the time, nothing to slip outta gear, and of course the ease of fwd and reverse. Now for speed or trail runnin I can see where the gear jammer would be preferred, but Dug just feels so much safer than any other critter I've used around our place. Even if I get on a slippery slope and its just too steep, there's no freewheeling, it just slides a bit untill I get enough traction again.
-
4 pointsThat's a nice solid 701. I picked up a cover from @buckrancher for my 854 at the big show. You could contact him to see if he has more.

4 pointsThank you all for the warm welcome! I think the blade and the weights will have to go as I have a Kubota M5660 tractor to clean the driveway and do any other chores around the house EXCEPT mowing the grass. Maybe I'll drive past Jay Bee's house at 3 AM and dump the stuff in his yard! Heck, it's better than my old dishwasher and a mattress! I'll let the stuff go to someone who wants it, not Schupan's, now that I know someone will get some enjoyment and use out of it. I'm open to trades for some stuff if you have it. The carb is a Walbro WHG 4505380 63 2224 and I've never seen a throttle shaft as sloppy as this one...probably at least 2mm slop top and bottom and heavy internal corrosion. Engine is a one lunger Kohler K341AS, Spec 71246a s/n 9678791. Tractor is 91-16KS01-14427 9183 if that helps. Yes, the rubber engine mounts are shot... You'll be hearing from me as I start to dig in to this project...my wife is missing her mowing partner.

4 pointsIt ran AND moved. Fixed a couple leaks from not tightening up a couple things but after that it did good.
