8 pointsThanks for all of the prayers and well wishes friends! I haven’t been back on here since my original post, but return with great news. Dad had another PET scan last week and got the results on Wednesday. There is now no sign of cancer in his lung, only some scar tissue remaining! He also had a brain MRI and it hasn’t attacked the brain. He starts precautionary radiation treatments on the brain tomorrow. He’ll have 10 treatments with the side effect being a lot of fatigue for a couple of months. That we can handle. He did really well throughout the chemo treatments and radiation. It kicked his butt, but he fought it like a champ. Luckily, he didn’t have much nausea, just lots of fatigue and a very sore throat. He only lost around 16 pounds and managed to stay out of the hospital! A huge thank you to all of my wheel horse family, your prayers did more than you could imagine. Thanks to God for his great healing powers and for giving Dad the strength to fight this! Love each and every one of you, even ole @WHX24 - always good for a laugh and pick me up!!!

7 pointsI stuffed my snow blower to the back of the garage and moved the Swisher to the front of the garage. Then I turned the Swisher loose on lawn for the first time this year. After the length of yard carpet had been brought back under control it was time for the C-141 to wake up for some lawn sweeper duty. It did a good job picking up the scraps left behind by winter season. The C-141's work was not done there. I threw the center blade on it to level out some bumps & holes in the drive way.

7 pointsYesterday's post brought some new front sneakahs for Trina's Pigpen 867. We'll get em popped on at some point in all our free time. This evening I gathered up all the parts to install a mid hitch and PTO on the Cinnamon Horse C160.

7 pointsChilly start to the day but it warmed up as the day went on. Mowed the green and verges after lunch. Carol has been busy in the garden. Did a bit of sorting in the wood yard. That should keep us going for a while.

7 pointsMany Ford Model A engines were set-up for air compressor use. Cylinders 2 & 3 were the compressors that were powered by 1 & 4. VW Beetle engines have also been set up like this, too.

6 pointsOther than a couple of decals, I was able to wrap this project up. I would like to thank @pullstart for the choice spindles. A thank you to @Racinbob for the ammeter that is on it's way. Thank you to @WHX24 for talking me into trading steering wheels with him. There's no way that I can say that it's done & not show some pictures. That would be unacceptable. Thank you for following along. Now I'm anxiously waiting for tractor shows to start so that I can show this 701 in her new cloths. .

6 pointsPicked up these front grills the other day. Didnt have any idea what I would do with them. Well here is one idea. Yes or no ?

6 pointsIt was rainy today, but I rode my tractor anyway. Tractoring is just as fun whether it’s sunny or not. ☺️ I put on the snow plow, and did a little paddock scraping. Everything is looking so nice, now that I can keep the mud controlled. Took the new tires and wheels to the tire shop Friday afternoon, but didn’t make it back for pick up before they closed, so it’ll be Tuesday before I get them mounted. New rear tires came in, and I plan to drop them off when I pick up the fronts.

5 pointsFarmer Evans was driving his Wheel Horse tractor along the road with a trailer load of fertilizer. Tim a little boy of eight was playing in his yard when he saw the farmer and asked, 'What've you got in your trailer?' 'Manure,' Farmer Evans replied. 'What are you going to do with it?' asked Tim. 'Put it on my strawberries,' answered the farmer. Tim replied, 'You ought to come and eat with us, we put ice-cream on our strawberries.'

5 pointsToday I was passing through Chambersburg PA at dinner time and couldn't resist the opportunity to do a quality control check at CJ's Barbeque. I am pleased to report that they are open and the pulled pork is outstanding. Looking forward to sharing a meal with my fellow Wheel Horse collectors in a couple months.

5 pointsBeen a busy as all get out weekend. Had a friend stay with us and a couple more joined in for a great BBQ Saturday evening. Saturday during the day 3 of us went for a walk up the mountain across the street. Took the rough way bushwacking through the forest and up the steeper side. A great hike. Today we puttered around the yard a bit after our company took leave. Monster wood splitter wouldn't start yesterday but we didn't have much time to mess with it. We had popped the gas tank off. Cleaned it out. Changed the fuel line. Not even a small huff. Today Trina swapped out the spark plug and it ran ... Ish. Constant surge/hunt. I'm NOT a believer in engine additives and I also have no use for PB Blaster. No offense to those who use it but I find it to be a well marketed spray that does nothing as a penetrant. Awhile back it was recommended I try tossing some P. B. Brand tune-up in a can spray at a problem child carb. I was doubtful at best but figured WTH.. I've used it in a few engines since. It works quite well for a carb that just needs a little reminder of what it's supposed to be doing. So now the splitter is up and running and ready for this year's chores. It also has a ummm. Special type of cover on it that @Mows4three could elaborate on. I messed about with the FM zc3 but didn't get it to fire. @Stepney had already mentioned he'll help me with it next time he's about. Earlier today The Paint Department worked on her Wheelhorse symbol door knocker. She put a second coat of paint on the head area, changing it's color. Here's a few pics...

5 pointstrue - and also if you cut on a grade my experience is similar - 312-8 with a 42" deck compared to 416-H with a 48" deck and especially / more-so when grass is high and / or cutting on a grade the 312 is great - but when my 416 got to around 1000 hours I got another 416 because 3 acres with a 312 is a tad too much seat time lol

5 pointsOld tractors, cars, trucks... Isn't that always the way with it? "Hey, this needs to be fixed... And that could be brought back up to spec... And then it'd be really nice if..."

5 pointsI bought this the other day. 1960 suburban 400. It has a 5 1/2 horsepower Briggs on it but did come with the original Koehler k91t engine plow and deck also. What’s it worth just out of curiosity?? Engines are freed up. Supposed to run. Mower deck and plow are just mocked up for the picture but it’s all there. Thanks for the help

4 pointsGot the linkage kinda sorted out today. The tunnel framework made it a little difficult to get everything lined up but I think I got it. Just need a new brake spring and a belt. Hopefully I can het it moving soon.

4 pointsI should be working on Hiram but I'm trying to gather up another project.
-
4 pointsGuess it would also depend on what grass you were mowing. I could see where the extra hp would come in handy. 👍

4 pointsChallenged memory? Nah. It is just a rotating stack memory, like the old Hewlet Packard calculators. Your memory has a finite number of positions. When you enter a new piece of data into the stack, all of the other data points move down one, and push the bottom one into oblivion.

4 points@haydendavid380yes, the bigger one on the left if you are looking at the rear of the tractor. Be sure to jack up the front end a bit to allow everything to drain. You might need to clean out the socket a bit. There was a lot of gunk in mine when I changed the fluid last month. (Look at me, handing out advice! Someone more experienced should probably check over my post before anyone actually takes the advice. Lol)

4 pointsIt's not quite done, but it's close. I still have a few decals to put on, and I am waiting on my new saddle.Of all the tractors I have done, (only 4) I would have to say this one was the most challenging. Trying to fabricate missing parts by guess work, takes me a long time. Then there was the leaky trans, which I caused, and the broken frame, so I had to tear it down completely. Then the generator problem, which is still a problem, but oh well. Like all my tractor rebuilds, it's not perfect by a long shot, but I think it's better than it was.

4 pointsOK, so was able to spend a little time on the 520 to see where I'm going with it. Was hoping to get it running today but that's not going to happen. The muffler has seen better days and she's been outdoors so 2 of the 4 bolts were able to be removed but the others will be an extraction effort. I had to gently pry and lightly hammer to get one pipe out. Of course, the rear cylinder so wondering if it runs hot and the intake seat is loose. The intake was barely tight - could almost hand loosen it. Curious, so pulled the front head. It needs a decarbon and the cylinder wall is clean, if too shiny - no hatch visible. It at least wipes the oil away. Anyway, better than my 16, so it's again ring time and the engine is coming off. That'll lead to a stripped frame and painting and...it may never end.

3 pointsI have a way of cooking pork tenderloins that is a hit with everyone that tries it. I take a 4 x 8 foil loaf pan and place the tenderloin in the bottom. I get a can of crushed pineapple and pour the juice off into a bowl. I salt and pepper the tenderloin, then dump the crushed pineapple over it. I mix the pineapple juice with 1/2 cup of brown sugar and pour that over the meat. Heat the gas grill to 375 degrees, cover the pan with foil, and put it into the grill and cook for about 45 minutes or until the internal temperature of the pork is 145. I turn off the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes. Slice into 1/4" thick pieces and serve with the pineapple on the side. The other way is substitute apple slices and apple juice for the pineapple.

3 pointsI installed the rebuilt deck and took her for maiden voyage yesterday. All was beautiful... UNTIL.. I turned left. The left turn must twist the deck a little bit, and the blade strikes the previously mentioned bolt head. I should have just reused the old bolt instead of tossing it in the trash. 1/4" clearance is NOT enough to prevent blade strikes! I had to finish mowing so I removed the new bolt and ground the head. So in the fall I'm going to have to do something about bending the rear apron back out where it belongs and add some stiffening to keep it that way. This project was SO worth the expense though! When I first engaged the PTO I had to look down to see if the blades were actually spinning. It was SOOOOOO quiet! And it cuts beautifully.

3 pointsThe old patch Italian guys made it a little different. Used bone in pork butt cut slits down to the bone and pressed fresh garlic cloves about 6 in to touch the bone, pushed fresh parsley into the slits rubbed the outside with salt and pepper 2/1 about one tablespoon per pound. sprinkled / rub rosemary over the top and into the slits. Bake to 165 internal. Served on a fresh Italian Roll hot or cold. I like it with hot pepper rings.

3 pointsIf your patient it will depending on how thick your grass is. Let’s just say it will give you plenty of seat time.
