I've gotten so much use out of this 1054. Today was re grading behind the pool and leveling for a walkway.

Years ago, I was watching a Johnny Carson re-run. Jimmie Stewart was on the show and read a poem he had written about a camera. He wrote the poem as if the camera were speaking. I thought it was kind-a cool. I thought if a camera can write a poem, so can a tractor. I wrote and published this on another tractor forum in 2017. It is a true story about one of my "other" red tractors. I wrote it shortly after completing the rebuild on it. I have adapted it to fit a Wheel Horse. I am a Wheel Horse Tractor, 14 horse power strong Start me in the morning, and I'll run hard all day long I'll mow the grass, push the snow, and even turn the soil Just fill me up with gasoline, and please check my oil My owner used me every day, I didn't ask for much A little washing, an oil change, now and then, a tune up I got bumped and bruised along the way, and scratched in different places But time and time I proved myself, going through my paces After 30 years I was handed down, to his son in law And after ten more I was handed down To his son in laws, son in law. The years had taken it's toll on me, I was looking pretty rough My motor spit and sputtered, I was filled with dirt and rust I was delegated to a shed, returning ,slowly, slowly, to dust To let me waste away like this, I thought that it was wrong I am a Wheel Horse Tractor, 14 horse power strong And then one day my second owner, came back and saw me there He looked at me and shook his head I need tender loving, care He took me home and washed me off, I wasn't much to look at He scratched his head the way guys do and thought, “I think I can fix that, The wrenches came out, the bolts removed, I was laying there in pieces In buckets, cans, and jars were parts, I looked like a pile of “feces” He'd work for hours, and was happy to, Now thank God and Wheel Horse, he had something he could do I wanted back together, it shouldn't take too long I am a Wheel Horse Tractor, 14 horse power strong He'd work till dark, go inside and promise to come later I sure hope so, I miss my tires, my bolts and nuts, and my carburetor Sometimes he'd go fishing, leave me all alone I wanted him to come back “Get your dumb ass home” It took a while, some cuss words, a smashed finger with a tear Some paint and polish, a little cash And a whooooole lotta beer I feel much better now. I'm back together again new wires and switches, and best of all new paint on all my tin Now I feel like a million bucks, and he says that I should But if he had the chance to do it again I'm certain that he would I am back to greatness, feeling like King Kong I am a Wheel Horse Tractor, 14 horse power strong.

Well you've asked to tough questions, most interesting, and fun to use. As far as fun to use, any attachment that results in running a Wheel Horse is fun to use. But here are some truly favorites: I love the custom 2 seaters! Tub Carts are just meant to use to pull grandkids around on Sunday afternoon Pushing dirt, especially with the center mount grader blade, it's just fun did I say I like to push dirt. someday I will find a front end loader to put on a garden tractor. My old Oliver at the farm is a Beast and I'm dog tired by the time I run it for a full day at the farm. This is another of my someday builds and its getting a little closer. Tractor shows and ice cream makers just go together. Can you say Margaritas...by the gallon..or five! Now my nomination for most Unique! I know its not on a Wheel Horse, but this Hawk Bilt ground Saw (trencher) was the subject in the latest Lawn and garden Tractor Magazine

The most unusual implement was the chicken plucker. Sorry, I couldn't find a picture. Here's my most useful.....the Mad Max tiller.

Hey all. Just got a call from Nancy, the daughter of one of our oldest members, Russ, as we know him here @SALTYWRIGHT..,maybe even our oldest member. Russ asked her to call me to fill me in so I could keep you all in the loop. Seems he has some sort of heart issue and is in St Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport Ct. She said it was NOT a heart attack. Russ will be 92 in 10 days AND he and his wife just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary!!! Obviously Wheel Horse tractors and a good woman are the secrets to a looooong run . She also said that he is bummed that he will miss the Zagray Tractor/Machinery show that’s only 3 weeks away. So let’s all keep Russ in our thoughts.

sounds good! go ahead and make 2 and i'll take one! oh, and i'll need a loader for it to go on. also - i only have the 1 horse, so i'll need another dedicated loader tractor. you know, if you are building me a loader you should probably install it on the tractor for me too - you'll know better than i do how it should go.

I like my tiller, not Wheelhorse, although I have the WH one as well. I have a selection of rollers, a giant ground aerator, which weighs as much, if not more than the horse! The horse pulls it no trouble, even when it’s at full depth. A self powered 4ft flail mower, converted from a a quad front mounted unit. Drawbar on flail also fits onto aerator, which was originally 3point mounted. + chain and seed harrows, de- thatchers etc, the list goes on and on. Next thing on the drawing board is a 3point self powered Sickle bar mower, I have a spare 71/2 hp motor with a gear reduction unit, this needs to be ready for hay season! Since fitting the three point my snowplough won’t fit anymore 😢All of these are used regularly around the paddocks!

My best back-saver/work-saver is a home built leaf blower. We have a LOT of trees and once the leaves start falling this is my best friend. Once the leaves are on the lawn I use a 42" rear discharge mower and pull behind 42" lawn sweeper to move them to the compost area.

Front weight bracket. Snow plough/dozer blade. Land roller. Front tow hitches. All above home made. Also home made belly grader. Finger/sickle bar. Wheel Horse Lawn Sweeper. Plus 36" and 42" rear discharge cutter decks. Also Saxon trailer.

Not that much Attachements, because of just one Horse for now... 😎 but all with multipurpose use options by Quick attach. Like the Snowplow incl. Frame selfmade (but lent on Original except the tilt mechanism) The Broom to cleanup the Driveway the rear hitch Combo to quick Attache different Things for quick mount i.eg of an rear rake after mow the original Mowerdeck (exchanged the Spindle bearings and freshned little up) but still have the old belts on, because they last. The Doubleaction plow to prepare first what is pure Fun in Service And the self propelling Tiller to finish and decrumbling the soil and last but not least my lightweight mini trailer with it’s just 12 Kilo built from a collapsed Pavillion, where the Original Wheelhorse Tyres are the heaviest Parts. Some other things just in plan or even in Build like the Snowblower but this is delayed to next year before i need it. it will be showed if i can continue.

You gota love it, I use mine for everything. Even my wife uses it.

I don't have any interesting ones but my most useful hands down is my snow blower and my trailer hitch!

Relief valve or better yet electric clutch ala say an Electro 12! Wired to a pressure switch with an unloader valve just like the shop one.

I’m pretty sure the front end loaders are/will be the most used attachments for me, however I don’t use a Wheel a horse to mow. Otherwise, a mid mount grader and one bottom plow are both equally impressive tools on such a small tractor!

Pulled one out of storage today and put awsy snowblower.

My hillside behind my house is littered with several colors of flowers that grow wild to Tennessee. I've just noticed this yesterday and I have not seen the species yet. There are some lighter color blue that we have that smells a lot like lilac.

Haven’t posted on here in awhile before snow flew I ripped apart a 633 wasnt in the number one spot to be restored but it was the one in the middle of the garage so away I tore er down parts are painted now ready for reassembly got rear rims painted today have to get my stainless steel nuts n bolts tomorrow and then the resurrection begins

i have no use for an air compressor, nor a generator, - as i have both in bigger/better forms but i like the idea of owning both not terribly interesting, but i have a "mighty mac" chipper/shredder that i am excited to start using once i find and kill the electrical gremlins in my engine swap

Just noticed the Barfield's tag on you 520 looking great. Mine most likely came from there too as I picked it up from a Stanfield address.

Put the 520H hood, belt guard, console side covers, and seat pan back on after painting them Rustoleum Regal Red...I guess the paint job turned out alright... Wish I had some pics of when I first got it... Then I couldn't wait to get my new decals from @Vinylguy put on... What do you horsemen think...and does that Onan sound okay ? I know it's probably hard to tell from a video... Took her out and let her run a bit...had to inspect the curbs and gutters in the neighborhood... 20210411_165354.mp4

Man oh man I hate to give credit to you for any particular reason but I have to admit that might be the best idea I've heard and at least the last 27 minutes. Definitely have to put that into the build.

Do you have a tractor mounted compressor? Love these kinds of threads because it's very interesting to me to see what others find useful and if I don't already have that, would I as well? Current tractor implements Trina and I have in our fleet are: Snow/dozer blades of three different sizes. 42, 48, and 60 wide. Mid-mount drag style 40-in grader blade. I'm in the process of building a 17 cube metal yard trailer that will be reinforced and rebuilt front to rear. As a compliment to that I'm building the trailer hitch mounted 1,200 lb capacity crane. We have a small mowing deck but never use it. Our mowing is done by hand. I have a tractor implement generator that I just need to build a bracket for. I also have a Mckissick chipper but I'll be getting mounted up soon. I have a stand-up air compressor that's currently run by a 220 motor. Works fine but the tank is very soft. At some point my intention is to make a 10 gallon ish front mounted engine driven compressor implement.

Best friend from HS texted me last month. He was getting rid of his old White (MTD) rider and wanted a recommendation. Husqvarna? Cub Cadet? I looked quickly on FBMPLACE and found a 314-8 that looked mint 20 miles from him for less than a new junky Husky or CC. I tried to explain to him the cheapness of the frames and the plastic gears in the engines ect. But he wanted new. So he bought the cheaper model of the CC. He says it should last until he's too old to mow his yard. He's not 62 yet. I guess he plans on stopping when he's 65.
