Finally,after being on order since this past early November,my new equipment building has arrived.I did all the site prep late last November before the ground froze and snow started falling.Crusher run floor.44 feet long.20 feet deep.Main part is 12 feet high.Leanto's are 10 feet high sloping down to 9 feet.Took a 4 man crew a total of 8 hours to erect.They got here at 2 PM yesterday and left at 7.Got here at 7 AM this morning and were done a little before 10 AM. Last pic is of the building finished except for the trim.Those guys were working fools.Gonna leave the front open,at least for now.Plan to put my backhoe,bulldozer,mini excavator,of course a few Wheel Horses,park my Daily driver Jeep Wrangler in it too.Will start to fill it up over the week end.

I started another project with this nice warm weather we are having, I started my other halfs "FlowahPowah" paint. Not so much a building project but more a paint and clean up project she's gonna do some hand painting once the new color is laid out. Also got some painting and metal hung on the 1257Heavy project! The 1257 had a nice old decal on the rear fenders so I saved that. Not sure if it's OG or not but seems it.

When I went to Taylor Tx 2 weeks ago to get my 1st Covid shot I made a stop at B&M Tractor Parts Yard. I've know of them for 50 years, but have never made the out of the way 50 mile trip over there. There now on the 3rd generation of family owners. Today they mainly buy JD, International, some Ford. but the warehouses are full of a little of everything from past years. This Allis GT was the only GT. He said he doesn't deal in GT parts, but picked it up for a customer in Europe. He said he deals with a European firm and ships about 4 containers over there a year. There are several large buildings with disassembled and cataloged parts. I recently read an article in a farm magazine that said farmers are keeping or buying the 70-80's large tractors and rebuilding them. The new ones cost too much and everything is electronic computerized such that only the dealers have the software to work on them. I didn't get a picture, but in the shop they were parting out a 80's small Ford tractor transmission and rear end. someone needed a few of the parts, then they will catalog and shelf the rest. It was a fun to wander around the nice clean graveled yard and see all the skeletons.

The engine is in. It’s no longer a C105. It’s a C145 now. The 14hp is bolted straight to the frame. No rubber mounts anymore. We want to feel the Kohler shake . The carb is almost ready to assemble. Hopefully we’ll smell some exhaust fumes soon.

Well I brought home another wheel horse, a c161twin automatic. I really bought the tiller and got a solid 42” rear discharge deck and the tractor in the deal. I really don’t know what to do with it. It isn’t running but I think is been sitting in a barn for a very long time. Had a mouse infestation in the air cleaner. Came with the house a young couple bought. I don’t know much about black hoods but the fender pan and hood are fiberglass.

@D_Mac I agree with Greg bud. You believe that you are better at making things look nice than run nice and maybe that's true and that's PERFECTLY OKAY. Look at it this way. ..... You have enough mechanical knowledge to understand that you should be feeling resistance somewhere every other turn and you're not getting it. These engines are very very hardy. Could be something simple or it could be something disastrous like a broken rod. Maybe it's repairable? Maybe the block is junk but everything else is okay? Who knows. Grab yourself some wrenches. Take an hour or three and carefully see what it takes to remove the cylinder head. You've lost absolutely nothing because you're already fairly sure it's broken and it's just not going to get more broken. Worst you can do in this scenario is learn something. The old 8 horse Kohler is in all honesty, about as bulletproof of an engine as you can come up with in a single cylinder. They are available for purchase. You certainly have a better than average looking tractor there so before you sell it do some poking around and call folks like Lincoln at A to Z to see what it would cost to get a running used 8. Might double your investment for the trouble of changing an engine. You may even have one sitting right there in front of you that's perfectly good but just has a stuck valve.....

At least pull the head off, then spin it, and see what there is to see. You can't hurt by doing that, and it may tell you a lot.

When I ordered wheel spacer for my C-141, I ordered a set of 4. So I a couple of spares. I couldn't see letting these go to waste, so I used them. I even mopped the floor to give it the wet look, for a little added affect. The tires on the rear are 26X12-12, Carlisle Tru Power. They are massive for a regular ol' garden tractor. I think I am going to like them !

Doing a little road trip in the morning about an hour and 15 minutes away from here. Picking up this 308-8 with a tiller and a mower deck. Plan on cleaning it up and transplanting a fresh 14 horse on it.

to the If you plan to use the tractor mainly for snow blowing with chains, I would never buy ag tires. The turf tire will keep more of the chains in contact with the ground than the ag tire resulting in much better traction.

Measure the length of the spindle that the rim sets on fron the welded washer out. . Gas welder is where it’s at. Very clean. You won’t regret it.

That bushing is a cub part. Someone probably took a wheel off a cub cadet and put on your wheel horse. That's definitely not a wheel horse part. Throw it as far as you can! What looks like a grease fitting is just about ridiculous.

Seconds before I scrolled down and saw your suggestion, the same thought came to me! I guess I was too focused on looking for an excuse to play with my new 'toy' welder. (It really does look like a toy! My wife wandered out to the shop after I unpacked it and said... "OH! I thought you were buying a REAL welder!" ) But yeah... exactly what I'm gonna try first! How to 'fix' this? Just completed a similar repair. McMaster Carr has an amazing assortment of shoulder bolts. Found an exact match in grade 8. Cut off the old ones and welded the replacements on with some minor modifications to the heads. Use as high strength rod / wire as is available. Secured wheels with locking nuts with neoprene/rubber washers backed up with exact fit steel flat washers to keep out as much dirt as possible to avoid further wear. Should be better than the original.

I finally got an opportunity to test this bad boy....... Super Excited The Harley Davidson Street 750 sounds great! The fuel injection works and it will never have to be 'choked'! Headed in the right direction, but it will be awhile before a proper transplant can take place. Right now I'm just happy it runs and didn't blow oil or a rod out the side.

All my trade secrets EXPOSED. I reveal parts of my build I missed taking photos of until now. The making of a jackshaft required a complete tear down so I will try to give some details of the mess I made. The frame was extended with HD shelf brackets. The trans plate is flipped and original frame extended with 1/8" 2x2 angle which may seam weak but the transaxle is secured via 4 points. 2 at transaxle plate, 2 at seat/fender and a wide plate to a 2x2 which at each end is the body tie down. If need be I can secure the frame to the axles with a snow plow type bracket. Double 1.5" wheel spacers. To be different the centrifugical clutch will be on the jackshaft. The frame was cut out for the axles which I had to "fix" for the frame to rest on the axles. Have a question? I will try and make an excuse that is believable.

Yes, Genuine Onan are the only "Quality" Made in U.S.A. gaskets, seals etc. out there. ALL other gaskets are cheap garbage from China! The Chinese are copying the Chinese, so the crappy gaskets keep getting crappier....but hey, great source for some Asbestos and cereal box quality gaskets... We have all genuine Onan parts, no imported junk... 16, 18 & 20 HP decarbon kits are part number 168-0189.

The Set screw is be the screw in the red marked Area, hidden under the dirt. if i see it right by zooming deep into the picture, i believe i just see a gently tip of the setscrew (in the blue marking) But i‘m with stevasaurus, screw it out completely and check the tip if it was broken. The tip i believe to imagine, can be also just a fract of the screw after it cracks, so it‘s better to check it before than have a gearbox damage. If you have a small telescopic magnet, put it from top the open hole into the hole and see if you can fish out a part of metal.

Its surprising how long we can take to put the finishing touches on our projects. I still need to tear down the GT22-8 beast and paint/finish it. Might actually happen this year. Due to taxes, I wont be driving out to the show so I guess I get another years reprieve.

310-8 were made for a few years and changes may have been made...but my 310-8 came with the 22 7.50x12 tires. The wheels were only 5" across not the 7 inch used on most horses . you may find it difficult to mount fatter tires on then and the tires will look distorted. Before buying tires i wuld measure my rims....If you need new rims be sure to f=get them with 1-3/8 in backspace. most garden tractors used 2-3/8 and you would definitely have clearance issues

It ain't fun ! But you can change the tires at home with a couple of large screw drivers, once you get the bead to break. It may be less frustrating to take them to a shop. In my area it cost about $10 to $15 per tire to have them changed. Note: if Kevin sends you some 8" rims your 6" tires will not fit on them.

Rod is 1/2" but yeah, that appears to be 'do-able'. Cotter pins could potentially be a problem getting snagged on stuff, but maybe not. Could also thread them and use a nyloc nut I suppose. I'm going to experiment with running a bead though, to play with my toy welder just to see how much I can build it up with one pass. Probably ought to experiment with scrap first!

Breather sounds like a good place to start. What kind of fuel pump do you have? Might be possible that the fuel pump is leaking gas into the crank case, raising the oil level, causing extra splashing. Check the consistency of the oil and the oil level. Gas in the oil is bad - to the point it can take out the engine.

Maybe cut the welds and replace the whole 3/4” rod?
