12 pointsSo @WHX24 keeps pokin the bear about everything he has done with my old 1045, the thing he never revealed was i got this beauty on trade. Someone took a lot of time painting this tractor and Jim figured he would just restore it. No way! there is a story here and captured in the neatest patina I've seen. so with a stop at the ranch of @Bear G I scored a set of rear wheels for this old girl that were perfect. All i needed to do was paint a set of fronts to match. So i oiled her up, put in the new shoes and saddle and here she is. What do ya think @Achto is Jim gonna complain about letting this one go too? Thinking i might have to change from Wheel Horse Estates South to WHX 2nd Hand Pony Ranch

8 pointsMy chiropractor brought his tractor by for me to work on to get running for another season I told him , well.... ok. He just wants to get it running for another season and he's looking for a tractor to mow his yard with. I told him I'd build him a wheel horse and I could paint it green so he could think it's a JD!

7 pointsSome one on here would love a nice project like that. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/classifieds/wanted/?do=form&d=2

7 pointsThe entrance to the WH storage shed is always wet, this year really wet!!. Almost time to wake up the Summer horses and put the snow horses to bed. Don't want them getting all muddy so hauled some 2A stone. 310-8 is my mud season go to horse. Big fat tires, no weights, light tractor and 10 pinion limited slip she does really well no ruts left to fix later.

6 pointsSorry, I'm having a hard time understanding this statement.

6 pointsMy kids, must be of the same heritage of @stevasaurus’ descendants. It’s 37 and snowing right now. Jada slept in a tent last night. I woke her up just before noon, making sure she didn’t freeze to death! Best part, she’s barefoot out there tearing it down!

6 pointsIn my opinion it looks too nice to part out. I'm sure some member would love to purchase it for a project.

After renting all last year, we finally moved into a house around Christmas, and then dealt with all kinds of hassles getting our stuff shipped out, apparently because the pods company's nearest location in Fort Wayne is a franchise -- not a company-owned office-- and they've got some issues. We had to go back to the east coast to move three containers worth of stuff ourselves in trucks, and the Fort Wayne location office finally accepted the last container with the tractor and all my tools and outdoor things in it. But they still wouldn't deliver it to the house like they're supposed to -- we had to go out with another truck and my trailer to load up and bring it all back. What a mess, but after a year and a half, I'll finally have some seat time soon. Took off the 2-stage snowthrower while we had good weather on Saturday; had it attached for storage and shipping since it's easier to move the snowthrower with the tractor than by itself. Ignore the oil spots under the tractor -- It's sitting where my old truck parks, and the truck has a tendency to "mark its territory". House has a third garage bay, which will be the workshop and home for the Horse and whatever implements happen to be attached at the time. Apparently I'm not the only one in the neighborhood with a bit of local history in the garage. Last week, one of the neighbors was airing out a gorgeous restored, Studebaker GT Hawk. Beautiful car.

5 pointsI just got one back in 2019. I love it. If you are coming to the Wheel Horse show, bring it with you and I might buy it...if the price is right.
-
5 pointsWithout a pic we can’t be sure. I’ve seen plenty of decals slapped on machines they don’t belong on. But if it’s a real C-125 its considered a black-hood series. This is my C-105 for reference on the body style.

5 pointsWhat did we do to it today... we got it dirty. It was a nice day to attack a compost pile. This thing saves a lot of digging... I shoulda bought one 20 yrs ago. We spread a good layer of compost on the garden. Beds filled and ready for veggies. Fun fun fun. It fits in all the places our skid steer can't go.

4 pointsYes you convert to an eight speed. You will need ,the clutch release gear. Then the clutch spring. Different engine pulley and belt. You 'l need to get the lift system changed out in the hood stand. With all said you can convert but unless you have a 8 speed doner complete it can be expensive and frustrating.

4 pointsReally nice looking tractor. Steve is a better judge of prices in the midwest, but here in Pa. , short chute SS blowers and decks sell for 150-200 $. A 10HP 8 speed is $4-500. Good Luck and to the

4 pointsI don't purposely do wheelies. I'll try to keep it short so don't mess up OP thread. But I had the loader on the diesel, took it off so I can finish some stuff on it. I also wanted to put the foot control on it. Well can't have both apparently, the foot control rod interferes with the subframe. So, took it off, put the control back on, put the plow on it to push snow. But before i did that, i was almost on the driveway and stopped for some reason, i hit the pedal hard on accident, and it popped a wheelie. IMO it's hard on the machine, and don't normally do it. Many young kids destroy these not knowing any better.

4 pointsReading the news today it seems the Oxford v Cambridge boat race has had to be moved this year due to covid and other problems. Its been moved to another stretch of water in Cambridge near the village of Littleport. One of the villages claims to fame (other than posh smart kids rowing impossibly impractical boats up and down it) is that the father of one of the founders of Harley Davidson came from there. Apparently they make some sort of popular motor cycle over in America so I'm told. Anyone know of any other *** bits of info abinfo where famous folk come from.

4 pointsUsually, when I see a thread like this, I don't read it...but since my name was mentioned... Understand, that I am not trying to offend anyone, this is just my opinion and the way I am. First, I'll say...it is your horse, and you can do what you want...period. I happen to be in this hobby to preserve horses, not to abuse them. Everything I have done with videos for these transmissions has been to show they can easily be cleaned and fixed by anybody that knows what a 9/16" open end wrench looks like. Saving transmissions equates to saving horses. We all know there are none of these being made anymore, and there are only so many out there. If they are not abused, they will last virtually forever. I understand that some people live for thrill, so why don't they buy a trail bike, RV or rocket snowmobile...and help save something that can die if not preserved.??

4 pointsIt is amazing how much electrical resistance a bit of rust or corrosion can cause. I've become a devotee of dielectric grease applied to connections after I clean them.

4 pointsToday we're headed about 1.5 hours North to Augusta Maine. Plan is to make spindles and get some other metal work projects done by/with our friend.

4 pointsFrom my experience, they all break down eventually. For the most part, I haven't had the best of luck with Ford, and have great experiences with Chrsyler and GM products. That is not to say I won't own a Ford, I bought that Ford 2N a few weeks ago, plus a F-250 about a year ago. Brand loyalty is okay, but it's usually not based on anything "real". Drive what you like and don't worry about whatever everyone else likes.

-
3 pointsNo problem Mate. I might have welded a plate to get rid of a Tecumseh also. What I was referring to more, was we have had some very young members that not only destroyed horses, but enjoyed telling us about it and posting videos. You don't have to re-build one to abuse it...I am just all about the abuse. I did see one once that was painted in University of Michigan colors. That was disgusting.

3 pointsA 60 some year old commercial, just coming into the height of tv advertising, trying to sell a product. Very similar to the Chevrolet Joie Chitwood stuff. Who would have guessed that this level of drama and action would still be the top of the list type of advertising in today's world?

3 pointsBoth transmisions, if maintained properly, will spin the tires on any surface. So more power does no necessarily increase the pulling capability. Traction is the weakest link. Axle to hub connection is probably next.

3 pointsFinally put it too work today and man its so capable! Ran lumber, buckets of soil, bags of gravel and all kinds of stuff around the yard all day. Used the forks for a workbench, Sat on them for a cup of coffee. Steering is very heavy though with more than 150 on them. Freshly greased too so need to limit the weight but that is the only issue so far. Here it is with 250# of gravel like its nothing
