13 pointsOk... so I saw this trailer up for sale and just had to have it. Don't ask me why, you know sometimes you see something and just want it in your garage. It isnt really practical. There is no tailgate that opens, so what ever you are going to put in it you are going to have to lift it in. But on the " cool factor " it is off the chart. Homemade, big wide 50's on the back, tubo-vac wheels. Wont leave ruts in your yard thats for sure. When I went to pick it up he offered me the other trailer. Needs to have the drag bar welded as it broke off. Other then that its a pretty nice little trailer. Sides come off. Made of heavy steel and composite decking so it wont rot. Not sure what I am going to do with them but I thought I would share. I gave 100 bucks for the pair, I am happy. You know how I love a nice trailer.

10 pointsGreat deal on the 2 trailers. The first trailer looks like a great candidate for hauling a cooler around in. A mobile bar so to speak.

7 pointsFor most of my life I worked in Architectural Woodwork in the NY area. We used McMaster Carr just about 3 days of every week for most times highly specialized items related to our work. I traveled hundreds of times to their facility in NJ to pick up items.. First, most of their shipping is really overnight shipping. The reason for that is that this not a regular operation where at the end of the day UPS goes there to pickup items at their facility. UPS is there on a permanent basis. Every bay on the loading dock which is about 10 has either a UPS trailer or truck parked there . As they are filled they are immediately picked up and another one parked there. I can guarantee it that within 10 minutes of an order being placed it is on the UPS Vehicle. These people run a seriously organized business. They are not the cheapest but they are the best as far as service and item availability. They are an example of organization and efficiency.

6 pointsBeen having a RIOT on the B1 Bomber, and the stock, yet tired K321 has been great and offers more than enough power for getting up the hills and building some wheel speed for getting through slop. However, I miss that opposed twin snarl my 520H had. Certainly cant afford an Onan, but along comes a 18hp Briggs flatty on marketplace, running, for 60 bucks. Now, yanking a good Kohler off a Horse and replacing it with a Briggs seems like blasphemy to me, but after much consideration, I came up with the "I'm saving a good Kohler from possible death" excuse- so the Briggs build begins. There's not a lot of info out there on hopping these up, but I did find a couple limited conversations about oiling mods, as these are a splash system. Being that we offroad guys see some seriously steep hills and off camber situations quite often, oiling mods are an absolute requirement in my book. So far I've pulled the pan and checked the rods and crank and they are perfect, and a couple parts are ordered, stay tuned as this build progresses!

6 pointsI move tractors with my minivan (don't laugh), so I have the advantage of a bed height that's lower than that of a pickup's. Another advantage I have is my homemade ramps are 10 feet long. Most tractors I can push up myself. With heavier tractors, I anchors an electric winch in front of the door pillars.

6 pointsSeriously! Get off my lawn! I just mowed it with my Wheel Horse!

6 pointsI just had to try the engine turning again. Didnt get it finished before TV time with the wife. I'm thinking maybe a drink holder behind the shifter?

5 pointsA to McMaster Carr. Order threaded rod and bronze bearings on Tuesday, get them on Wednesday. Order oil seals yesterday, get them today. Mail a birthday card across town (3700 pop.), takes 3 days, at least! I don't get it. McMaster Carr.

5 pointsAfter I got the charger 12 I put the tires and wheels on it from my rat 606. So for the 606 I decided to use the tires that came on the 520 that I turned into my loader tractor that I got from Horsefixer. They were like new but I wanted Ags and Vred 18 inch tires on the loader 520. I had the rear wheels fabbed for a little extra width and I really like how the larger tires look on the 606.

5 pointsIf I were building a Wheel Horse themed building it would be fashioned after the Chandler Equipment Sale building that was next to the Pond's first factory. Chandler Sales and Service located next to the old South Dixie Way factory is thought to be the first Wheel Horse dealership, they were bought out by Weaver Ag and are still a Toro dealership although no longer at the same location.

5 pointsI finally got my rear tires mounted for the 1257 Heavy! Slowly coming along but warmer weather means more time in the shop!

4 pointsJust bought a 314-8, serial number 9900931, which in the light of day seems to have been "rode hard and put away wet". When I put her in gear and let up the clutch pedal, engagement is startling! So I got a new factory belt and when I stripped off the bodywork, I found the hydraulic tensioner was pretty flabby (normal?) and the drive belt could be deflected about 2" with clutch engaged (normal?). I'll also be replacing tie rods but that looks straight forward. Where can I get a workshop manual-- the owners manual doesn't have much depth. Thanks for your help. I'll be asking questions as they come up. Cheers, Peter

4 pointsYou could hook the two trailers in tandem. Cool cooler one first pulling the other as the caboose. Then you do you work and drink at the same time. (Not that you need a trailer to enjoy an adult beverage.)

4 pointsWe married them for better or worse . Just have to take what life throws in your path. Hope Mrs. K gets out of the wheel chair soon.

4 points@Ed Kennell Ed I had to retire in October 2006 due to a back injury , Mrs. El started on back surgeries in 2015 ( there have been 4 ) she is still on heavy duty pain pills. When she takes a pill she starts talking and can't stop . 2 pills and she talks faster . She and I have been together 24/7 since October 2006. She took 2 pills this morning and it is too rainy and wet to take a walk .

4 pointsGrowing up my parents bought a house when I was about 4 1/2. It was in the village and was owned by a family that ran a feed mill. There was a carriage barn and horse corral. Yes they had a couple of horses along with all kinds of barn fowl there. There were I think 4 horse stalls inside along with another approx. 15' X15' corral, and a couple of small rooms. 2nd floor was wide open. It would made a perfect horse barn today. All kinds of room for parts. Probably could put 50 tractors up top with a lift system. House is for sale. I'm waiting for an open house to go visit and see what has changed. Picture is from Real Estate ad:

4 pointsWonderful to see youngsters being taught things like this. I learned at my grandfathers knee, my dad never owned a car or drove. I was used for all the hard to reach or fiddly jobs on his Bedford van. That way I learned how spanners, drivers etc were used. I don't remember that being taught but it must have been. It just seemed instinctive to me. Auto shop at school was not for the higher streams so I never got to learn anything there other than basic metal work. I did an apprenticeship in motor vehicle engineering at my local council and thats where I built on those boyhood skills to learn welding, bodywork, machining, electrics, hydraulics etc etc Over the years my knowledge and skill has saved me thousands of pounds and enriched my life immeasurably, even though I don't consider myself to be a professional or particularly well qualified. Anything that gets young minds open to problem solving at a physical level is to be applauded and encouraged. Mick

4 pointsWent off-roading today. Been cleaning out the over growth behind the house and discovered there is a lot of open ground behind the brush. Still a lot of cleanup to doesnt. It also drops off and slopes down about 3-4 feet to flat ground. There will be trails out there eventually

3 pointsI don't care what they charge. You need it, they got it, you get it. No worries, no drama, no games. When I used them at work, I liked the fact l could tell a customer I'll have the part tomorrow.

3 pointsMany many years ago my older brother had a science project that required melting something in a crucible (something that made copper as the output I think). any way he built a fire ring of cement blocks filled with charcoal briquets broken up and a piece of pipe hooked up to Mom's Electrolux. (nothing sucks like an Electrolux but they blow pretty good also.) Problem was the pipe heated up all the way back to the vacuum's flex hose and shall we say crisped the end of the flex hose. Mom was not a happy camper.

3 pointsDid you see the picture of the one being unloaded in the dark? I waited until around midnight to take it out. There was a reason for that!

3 pointsFill the tires with juice and have a combo trailer / lawn roller. You could stadle the debis and pick up as you go! I have stuff that is not practical too! 12 tractors. ??

3 pointsit had the briggs in it when i bought it. I believe the briggs was swapped in there... The C-175 should have had a KT series engine...whats strange was this was swapped with an engine that was built right at the same time period as the tractor.... either the tractor came with the briggs (i doubt it) Someone swapped the briggs early on after blowing the kohler KT series 1 (maybe but it has a sticker from what im told means re-man/rebuilt) The more likely scenario is below - I was SOLD this tractor by a fella who purchased this from the estate of a man who passed away that happened to be his neighbor... He said the guy would maintain 3 properties in the neighborhood, snow and mowing. He said the guy put a "new" engine in the tractor and never got it running/was sick and passed away shortly after. The man who sold me the tractor had tried for many years to buy the tractor and the family finally agreed to sell it to him because they ended up selling the property where it was stored... It wasnt wired properly according to the man i purchased it from.... So basically this tractor sat from the early 90s until summer of 2020 in a garage untouched. So i might possibly have a freshly rebuilt Briggs. I have no clue but it runs like a top and burns 0 oil for what thats worth.

3 pointsDoes everything a Man own’s must have any sense? I believe no, because of that reason i like the red Trailer more more than the other. The red trailer is unique in it’s combo and looks sharp with the big wheels on. maybe it is not very senseful usable but i find the coolness factor is tripple compared to the other.
-
3 pointsVery cool! Smoking deal... Eh... you think those tires can carry the weight you might put in there?

3 pointsWhat Cayuga Lake in NY looks like when the snow geese rest on their way back north. They're usually here for a month or so. This is just a picture to the north end of the lake, there's just as many to the south as well. With a phone it's hard to get a close up picture, but I'm sure you get the idea. As you can tell, there's more than a few.

3 pointsCongrats with the addition to your family Norm! I lost all my grandparents in my teenage years. My wife’s side has had many occurrences of great great grandchildren and we’ve only lost one of her grandparents. It’s great to have grandparents again. Family is everything! The girls (11 and 13) have had the pleasure of growing up with their great grandparents active in their life, be it gardening or camping, cutting firewood or having family meals.
