Ran across the video and since I used to live in Dodge City find it interesting. I have known about these for a long time, but have never seen a video before. Mayrath as a business is still in business. They were bought out a few years ago, but they made feed mixers and other products when I lived there and have operated one of their mixers.

while going over to my daughters house , spotted a white softball size object , swooping down to the ground , road was empty ,so I slowed down to verify what I was seeing, as I closed the distance , it was an eagle making a hit on a squirrel , in heavy brush. all but hiding the eagle with the background cover, it was over very quickly , eagle was picking at it as it lifted off , nature at work is an awesome thing to see, pete

Tractor Ride nap! The sugar snow is wet and heavy and the 1/2 mile long trail in the field that I plowed last week is drifted shut. We tore up the yard for an hour and now she’s sleeping to the simple idle of the Wisconsin AEN.

Show cruising with a potential grenade? No doubt in my mind ,junk it. Think how you will explain your decision in case of an accident. If it will be home bound and you are the only one who could hurt fine. If even that is not in the cards, junk it.

Figures you were at an Ice Cream stand! Running out of gas. I wish. The carb fell apart on my 701 at the steam pageant and I was 2 miles from the tent. Then the following year at the Big Show the coil feed fell off the switch on the 1267 and I had to PUSH IT PAST @wallfish @rmaynard & @Vinylguy!

I agree with those who say scrap it. I think that crack is expanding and is currently at the point of the arrows at about 4 o'clock, and also at 2 o'clock.

Neighbor to Steve. Hey buddy can I borrow a 9/16 wrench? I have like 38 of them but I'm too lazy to look for them in my mess of a bird's nest of a garage. Steve. Yeah sure friend. Can you hold this huge curvy sword for me for just a minute? Neighbor. You know what? Nevermind.. My incredibly lovely wife who's not a ball and chain or nagging at me all the time at all asked/ demanded me to clean out the garage basement carriage house workshop and pool shed today so that's what I'm going to go do...

Guess everyone is entitled to their own idea of what constitutes a fun day. Not my choice of an afternoon outing.

Spray it with carb cleaner and go have a couple of brewski's. The crack will show up and you'll be using that flywheel for an ashtray.

Well, this is creative. A modern JD crate engine, Allison 1000/2000 combo and divorced t-case in a 69 GMC!

That's exactly what I thought. Detonation. It could be a cheap easy fix by replacing and properly gapping the points.

If I try a bit I can see it go further: Scrap it!
  26. 4 points
I've got a bit of a reputation for pushing some normal limits and I've fixed a few things that were said unfixable but I'd scrap that flywheel if it depended on my skills. If there was a way to test it after the "repair" I'd be more likely to try something, maybe drilling, veeing it and brazing, but how does one test it? Scares me a bit.

312-8 bought new April 1989, + 37 inch side discharge deck with rear bagger + plow bade unit + weights and chains + tiller + rear cart = total $4,025 --- that was HUGE expenditure for my family in 1989 but I saw it as lifetime purchase as new home owner in 1980 - 1/2 acre lot -- here's BACKSTORY --- In 1963, at age 13, my dad bought us a 1963 Montgomery Wards Tractor 7 hp, plus mower deck and plow - so I could mow neighborhood lawns - plow driveway snow, etc - he required I keep a log of jobs and earnings -- and pay him 60 percent - he would buy all gas, belts, parts, blades, do maintenance, etc - it wasn't about the money, it was about me learning lessons of life - expenses, overhead, responsibility, work ethic, punctuality, etc. -- As a teenager, different than my friends, I always had cash in my pocket because I could go mow a lawn -- So when I read the stories here about peoples relationship with their WH I think each of us has some "back story" -- I am not a collector - not really a hobbyist -- but my WH is special to me and I have just recently begun some serious rehab work on my 31 yr old "investment" --- in that context I find this discussion of "worth" and "value" and "pricing" very interesting. I think of my WH as "worth" much more than the sale prices noted in the posts of what a WH could, or does, command in the market place --- one primary reason is what I would call "replacement value or cost" ? and What is it worth to do what I use it for --- Mowing, aerating, leafing, snow plowing, tilling etc. - - and what would it cost me to purchase an equivalent "tool" to perform these same tasks -- Moreover, if I purchased a new "tool" what would its quality and reliability be compared to my 312-8 ? I believe most WH owners believe the durability and function and dependability of their WH exceeds what we could buy new in todays lesser quality world. Therefore, yes, I have a nostalgia toward my WH and enjoyed my kids growing up on a WH, and now my grandchildren since age 3 learning the responsibility and joys of driving a Horse - and hope my horse continues its life in my family tree through my children and grandchildren. Can't put a value on that.!!!!!!........... Cheers to all the special relationships the forum members have with their "horses"

The V6 should be the 4.3L, basically a 350 V8 with 2 cylinders cut off. Decent engines and more parts availability. My 06 V6

Advise a prospective buyer you can't buy a GT like this anymore for any kind of money. You wouldn't be a dishonest salesman with that statement.

This is what I paid for a new one 32 years ago and did think it was a lot of money but I knew the quality I was buying. And all of these years later it was the best money I have ever spent. A picture in 1989 doing it's first wax job and now. I would not sell that tractor for any offer, sentimental value for sure.
