14 pointsGot the oil temp gauge installed, gas tank sealed and back in place, took Hoss on a little trail ride and snapped a few pics. So close to 'done' I can taste it. Gonna be needing a 5" engine pulley and clutch disc if anyone has those kicking around.
-
12 pointsWell now ya boys ha' dunnit. I did some searchin on the innernets and found a way to combine/edit videos. My debut as an Editor:
-
11 pointsI never owned an old ford truck like that, but I had a Bulldog. Mickey, may she rest in peace.
-
10 pointsSince this last snow storm, I had been counting how many times my neighbor got plowed out... 5 x $40 per push= $200. My B80 cost $100. So, I said to my wife “you know the B80 has actually paid for itself and parts plowing us out this year. And she said “yup, I never had thought that”... and bingo I got my $100 WH justified by my wife!

10 pointsI mentioned earlier how I’m not a Ford fan, though Grandpa was. My business name is his name. I found this green and yellow piece cleaning out the back of the Cadillac today. It was a bird house that he religiously put up every spring, for the martins on the lake. It’s on,y fitting that it hangs in the shop. I’ll smile and sometimes hold back a tear when I see this.

9 pointsJust thought you all may enjoy this pic. It it my 1949 JD model A. Along with my project that I will have ready for spring plowing. It is a Case Centennial 2-14" trip plow. I don't know what year it is. But? I think it is early 40's. I have done some work on it. I welded new rims on the spoke wheels. When it gets warmer I will put different tires on it. Go through the lift mechanism. And? Clean up the rusty moldboards. Then I will try to get some pics of it working.

9 pointsEven though I'm on disability, my friend Kevin who I worked with for 20+ years has his own glass company and calls my now and then to help him with 2 man sets or older stuff. We put glass in a 79 Ford today that I thought you guys might like. The guys has another one just like it outside that's a crew cab and some other pretty cool toys in his shop. He had some good looking Bulldogs too.

8 pointsI've the word of the day thread and after seeing this report on our national news feed I thought "Idiot of the week" might make an entertaining subject. This guy was stopped by police while driving his car. Obviously overnight snow had covered the vehicle but to say he had engaged in the minimum amount of snow clearing of the windscreen is putting it mildly. He was charged with dangerous driving, which has to be a standard far below that of a careful and competent driver. I would say that case is made out here. Can you come up with a better Idiot of the week? Mick

8 points"I don't need no stinking justification for my Wheel Horses !!" I would never say that, but what you posted made me think of that. I just had to share.

8 pointsGot a few of this vintage, One I bought new in December 1977 and still ownit .I think highly of the dent sides. That's a 300 6 towing at least 7500 lbs. Not me or mine below but typical of the time.
-
8 pointsWell, after a drive to town, I can say there was an issue the first time, for sure! The shifts are so much nicer, tow haul and everything works the way it should, lock up converter too! I am a happy dude!
-

6 pointsWait until they don't start so easy next year, then what? Only 12 more to go after doing this!
-
6 pointsBack to the field this afternoon. Three hours work and the trunk cut up and plus two loads home. New chainsaw made short work of the trunk. It's got a 2" longer bar and a thicker chain. Still some more to collect, but tomorrow is another day.
-
6 pointsToday, @Skipper sent my order (great dude) And picked up some OEM parts at the dealer for a wopping 200€ or 240$ ( quite some money for me @19 years old) Next time i will order them too @Skipper AT least i can start all my tranny work, next week!
-
6 pointsI found that a checkball (one word) was missing, but I had another blown transmission to beg steal and borrow from. Sound more correcterer?
-
6 pointsSure is! I checked on friends and family for an hour last night, the truck drives better and better as it goes! I plowed a big long country driveway, a good 8”+ of hard packed junk. Stuff like that, scraped right down clean, is why it’s the Cadillac!
-
6 pointsI use a 2" receiver to mount my vacuum on my C-120 also the winch on my 312-8.

5 pointsThat's why I bought a snow blower and blade for the eMax and made a front blade work on the Kioti. You will be proud ,my 83yo dad (81yo when pic was taken) doesn't use a cab either.

5 pointsI was once on pedal cycle patrol in sheffield, full police mountain bike uniform, the works. Came across a Karen sitting in a queue of traffic chatting away on her mobile. (Points on your licence and a fine). I tapped on the window, which came down a couple of inches and was rewarded with "can't you see I'm on the phone?" I pulled my bike in front of her, stopping all the traffic while the conversation continued: "Can't you see I'm a policeman?" It was the nicest ticket I've written in a long time and six points really made her smart.
-
5 pointsSounds to me, if my math is correct (200-100=100) like you got $100 extra to go get another Wheel Horse... maybe one for your outstanding Mrs...!!!

5 points*edit* here you go Uncle Jim! 1 (huge appetite) I feel voracious to plow some snow in my heated cab 4 wheel drive V8 fire breathing Cadillac. 2 (excessively eager) I am voracious to plow some snow in my heated cab 4 wheel drive V8 fire breathing Cadillac. Extra credit (maybe) I have no voracity to smell what the mice have done to the heat system in my heated cab 4 wheel drive V8 fire breathing Cadillac. But I’ll deal with it. *another edit* Clarity. I can read. It’s a Chevrolet. It just plows like a Cadillac.

5 pointsHere's s throw back from about 31 years ago in high school auto tech shop, wonder if anybody can figure out where I am, and that's one of my long time buddy's 78 F250 Club Cab...
-
5 pointsAluminum spindles? They aren't a tight fit at all. Grab a block of wood and tap them in nice and gently. If you're really nervous, I guess you could heat them and use a thin seal driver that is the OD of the outer race and go about it that way. I've done literally dozens. Never had one come back.
-
5 pointsIt’s still on the hoist... need to clean some mess... but the tires spin both directions... when I want them to!

4 pointsReceived our winter cab from Original Cabs yesterday. Only took a couple days to get it. Everything arrived safe and sound. We opted for the glass windshield and electric wiper. Very easy install and no holes needed to be drilled in the tractor. Only two holes needed in roof for the wiper motor. Rich is one happy camper with his new warmer and less drafty snow removal environment. We have relegated the Wheel Horse to just snow blowing so that makes it easy for us not to convert it to summer duties. We have another tractor for that. We have the foot control for the hydro drive and it posed no issue in installing the cab. Very well made unit and worth having. Here are some photos of the install. Red

4 pointsI have a tractor and loader as well that I rarely use the loader for snow. Now that same tractor has a 72" snow blower and that thing clears a lot of snow in a hurry. However, that tractor and blower are heavy and will make a big rutted mess until; the ground is really frozen. That is when the 520HC with the snow plow really shines as it moves a lot of snow but does minimal damage to the yard.

4 pointsAfraid for the Jugular? (pretty much what I look like now, but the beard is all white. I told Loree no beard trim or haircut till Covid was over... sleeping with one eye open!)
-
4 pointsNot just windscreens that don't get cleared. How often due you see the side windows and door mirrors frozen as well? It's amazing how many Richard (Dick to his friends) Head's are about.
-
4 pointsI keep telling The Paint Department I'm going to file for that but she just tells me to get my bleep bleep bleep bleep bleep bleep out of bed and go to work...
-
4 pointsThe guy in my profile pic..... Okay well maybe I would have cleared a little bit more than that jamoke. Good share Mick. Good share.
-
4 pointsI actually own two in packages with the wired lighter elements for New Old Stock installation! a And I did not pay more than $20 for the two in original packages.
-
4 pointsGood that you got it fixed! I was leaning towards starter/generator the whole story.... sometimes the simple stuff is the most overlooked!
-
4 pointsFather in law had a black 79 ford heavy half. Comfortable truck, big motor, drank gas. Twin I beam suspension? Hard on tires. It was a 6-8 mpg truck. Very nice though. That era was right after I stopped working in the garage. Ford was choking them down with smog stuff. I think it was 78 when you could still get a smog free half ton. The 250 in 79 might have come that way too. You could make them much better if you let them breath. Sometimes I think the manufactures just put car stuff on trucks to satisfy the regulations.

4 pointsThe other day I mentioned that I thought my plow needed a better lift mechanism. So yesterday I commenced to making one. It's not very sophisticated, and it aint purdy, but t works. Switch on the dash raises and lowers plow. Micro switches limit travel up and down. Goes up and down in about a second. If I can ever find the switch I want, I have another plan, but apparently it is a very elusive switch. In line with keeping it Red Green compliant, I cut off the cardboard tube some, filled it with ice melting salt, and taped the caps on with duct tape. When (and if) my new hood ever gets here from Lincoln, this will all have to be revamped. But that might wait a while. Now. I don't have anything to do again.
