Used to wood burn a lot in my free time, but haven’t picked up a burning tool in several years. It’s been too cold and nasty to work on any projects outside lately, so I dug out my stuff and give it another go. Picked up some 97 cent plaques from WalMart to start back out on until I got the feel of things again. Once I did a few of those I moved on to some bigger and better pieces. Here are those first ones

We got three to four inches of wet snow tonight! used the B-80 and cleared off drive and curbs in front of the house! Still enjoy how well this setup works! It does the job!!

I recently began pondering what all i could 3d print to dress up a horse. I'm pretty good with deaign sofware and came up with a couple small items to start, and figured i can easily print things like headlight covers, hood ornaments, and badges of all sorts.Then I wondered if maybe rather than a decal if i 3d printed an embossed plate or sorts with the appropriate graphics in 3d. These could be enamel painted, or printed in a silver that would give a brushed nickel type of finish. Here's a couple photos of what ive created thus far in some gray test material. Please let me know what ya think.

Finished up a little bit of work on the 854 that I planned on doing last year at this time; powder coated all 4 wheels, cleaned and detailed all 4 original like new tires, repaired and refinished the seat pan and add a fresh cover, repaired and did a "quickie" paint job on the butchered up hood (old light holes and missing mount tab at the bottom) and belt cover(hole worn thru the bottom) , added some fresh decals, and replaced the drive belt with a vintage but fresh NOS 9691. This machine unfortunately had a quickie spray can paint job at least 30 years ago and doesn't even come close to matching the original untouched red hiding under the hood and other areas. It's good enough for now so I can play with it a little bit before it gets a full nut and bolt restoration in about 2 years.

I also picked up a couple of these poplar rounds at WalMart. I’m not a big Ford tractor guy, but Tasha loves her little N series I bought her, so making this one for her This one is out of basswood (also WalMart) and is one of the more meaningful and special projects. As many of you know from previous posts Rodger was one of my best friends and mentors in the antique tractor hobby, and I ended up with his old 51 M when he passed. Fresh greased and prepared for the next Snowtest.. Doing an oilservice today and serviced all greasenipples. look for any cracks or Weakpoints. Nothing found for now. - Ready for the next Snowfall...

First seat time with a snowplow in almost 3 years. It was great!

The 656 will push some snow, but that wet stuff we got this morning was quite a challenge.

But of course I'm in the house! SWMBO is ok as long as I put my toys away when I'm done playing lol. I do have workshops outside but its more comfortable in the indoor shop. No wandering outdoors getting cold. Plus she brings me tea regularly.

Or maybe it's just the detail that counts!

My parents bought a farm in the early 90s and it there were two horses left in the barn. They gave the B80 to me and my dad used the D series for small chores.

Well ive been gone just shy of 2 weeks, between work being busy, loader being sold, and looking for a truck, i havent had time to check in. And with all my toy money aside for a truck theres not much i can do to my wheel horse in the meantime, but finally after about a month and a half looking i got the new horse hauler home today. Drove it 100 miles home with no issues loving it so far

Looky GT tracks. Single digits, minus digits with the windchill for the last few days. The poor thing has been outside under a tarp. BUT it's the only worker that started and ran. Stepped up to the plate and moved everything I needed moved before the snow storm. Including one of the 4 wheelers that wouldnt start. Wahoo more garage time.

It’s now the second „ cheapo“ that collapses here. Next time i will decide the Invest myself and built one in my own Version. Thanks Kevin. My artwork skills as far as drawing suck. All of these with exception of the barn were patterns I printed off and then transferred to the wood with carbon transfer paper. The barn was the first one I did, Tasha drew it out with a pencil and I burned it. Here is before I burned the last one, along with the pattern I used for the M. The lettering I did with Microsoft Word, then traced it out onto the piece

About 28° this morning. Picked up about 9" last night, and put the little 8hp that could, to work. It's crazy what these little tractors can push. I haven't managed to get stuck or stall it out yet.

Take a look before order, there some with implemented grease nipples ( zerk fittings) Available. Imho the better choice because they be servicable.

There are many things the homeowner can do themselves and should do IMO. But doing their own gas lines probably are not one of them. It's not very often I'd ever suggest having someone else do anything but certain things present a huge unnecessary risk. Have a pro do it and get it inspected. They will pressure test and properly check it for leaks and you can sleep at night. If you do it yourself be sure to check for leaks and re-check it. Simple things like water lines and such don't pose a life threatening situation like gas can.

My memory is better than I thought.

I've got rubber chains on the blade tractor but decided that I probably wouldn't need them on the blower tractor. Last winter I put markers in key spots of the driveway so I would stay on it and we barely got any snow so I didn't do it this winter. After all, the average snowfall for Knox is about half of where we lived before. We can still get lake effect but usually not near as much. The system that came through didn't care about zip codes. We woke up to about 8" of extremely heavy snow. I decided to blow it so off I go with the blower tractor.....with no chains. I got close to the end of the drive nd got off the edge. It quickly became clear that I wasn't going anywhere so I shut her down. Out comes the blade tractor. Once I got around the stuck machine I had my wife get on it and told her to back up as I nudged up against the blower wing with the blade. I motioned for her to start going but it didn't seem to want to. Then I saw the tires spinning. She had it in 3rd gear. I hollered for her to use the OTHER reverse. That worked and I got it back on the drive. I told her to just park it in the garage. The moral of the story......I've already got a set of rubber chains ordered for it and you can bet I'll put the markers in next winter. Gotta go open up the end of the drive now. The county came by.

If you do decide to run the gas line yourself, as suggested, use black pipe. That cheap chinese crap they sell at the box stores has TERRIBLE threads! Seek out American made pipe and fittings. ( www.supplyhouse.com ) A few notes about black pipe you should know: The so-called 'sealants' should not be relied on to seal! They are called that but they should only be considered to be a LUBRICANT to make it easier to achieve a properly TIGHT connection. Black pipe threads are designed with several rows of 'imperfect' threads at the bottom of fittings and the end of pipes. It is these mperfect threads that make the actual seal so they need to be tight enough to create that seal by mashing the metal together and eliminate the 'spiral leak path' that exists if the pipes are not tight enough. Black pipe needs to be tightened VERY TIGHT! Much tighter than one would think because after all, you are deforming steel to create a proper seal. Do NOT use teflon tape! It is NOT a sealant no matter what you've been told! It is a lubricant! If you do use it anyway, keep it at least four threads away from the end of the pipe, you don't want the slivers of tape to make it into your gas line. And only use ONE WRAP if you must use it at all. More is NOT better! Teflon ' cold flows' and if you think you've got a joint tight enough when you come back a day later you will be able to tighten that joint more because the teflon has flowed and the joint has loosened. Bottom lines: Use QUALITY American made pipe and fittings. Use only gas rated dopes. Do NOT use Teflon tape. Make the joints TIGHT to achieve a metal to metal seal of the imperfect threads. I could go on and on, but will leave it at this for now. BE SAFE!

first gap your ring ends. If no markings: top ring: inside bevel goes up. ( chrome ring also is the top ring) middle ring: inside bevel goes down. (If it has an out 90 degree notch let us know but I don’t want anyone confused) bottom of course is the three part oil ring. Put the expander in first then the smaller ones on the outside. Make sure that expander doesn’t overlap itself. Double check it before putting the thin rings in. Also buy a ring expander. They are cheap and worth the money. No need for a broken ring or scored piston. One last thing. Do this in a warm area. Make sure it’s not too cold the rings get brittle when they are cold.

I had this 210-H for 20 years. bought it new in 1990 with a factory snowblade, plastic weights and chains. After the superstorm in 93 I bought a used Simplicity blower from my neighbor. I used to clean a large area in front of my house along a state highway. You can imaging the amount of snow the state boys left in the spot. This little tractor never let me down.
