11 pointsThis is why I started this thread, because I know there’s collections out there like this that need to be shared with us like minded folks. I would love to be able to store mine in the same storage area but they are split up around my property. I know many of you have seen these pictures before but here’s my collection. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

10 pointsI be interested a very long time in a Sandblast cabinet, but the longer i think about it, the longer i doubt i wanna waste that Space. When i brought my Rims to the Company they powdercoat them, i see there sandblasting cabinets, boy bee this things huge. Ok not an option, especially because of the Dust. So i developed an idea and thinkering a lot about it. How about a Vacuum reworked and a Sandblasting system with an Feedback system, to reduce massive the waste and reduce the dust on Working. I found on fleebay this Sandblasting Gun, i be interested in, that is exactly what i‘m thinking about. for 30$ It seems to be not a unrealistic Pricerange. So i ordered it and a Ash vacuum what have an fine filter in it. my idea is drilling a hole in the bottom of that vacuum bowl, to suck the sand to the sandblasting gun via a pipe and via Vacuum it back into the Bowl. In the Bowl i will insert a fine mesh to extract bigger parts, the sand hopefully drops down in the Sucktion chamber near bottom. So i have a continouse working system with sand rejeckt let‘s see how it works. Very interesting sandblasting Gun and with Vacuum connector. For 30$ it seems the price worth. A mask is allway’s recommended on suck Work, but i hope to reduce the dust to nearly 0 And the Ash Vacuum with it‘s Bowl. Need few fittings and Pipes but i will forward my experience if somebody interested in.

9 pointsI found this at the hardware store that starts with men**** $2.39 Fits perfect but has a rough finish so a decal wont stick. Maybe it could be sanded. The size says 1 1/2" but fits perfect in my 2" steering wheel. The 2" size cap actually measured 2 1/2". I took a tape measure back to the store for this one.

8 pointsDefinitely realizing I’m gonna have a few questions on this one, so decided to run a dedicated thread. as a recap: had a Simplicity up for sale and a fella asks if I’ll trade for a Wheel Horse. I’m not well versed in the round hoods, but when he sent pics of a solid nose and 7hp Kohler I jumped on it, thinking maybe it’s a 701? Sure enough, and with a new battery, fuel system cleaning and fluid change she was running under her own power, and very well at that! 5 minutes with some cleaner wax revealed some REAL nice patina, possibly original paint, so she will not be torn down and restored. Im thrilled but will have plenty to learn on this ol girl- would like to do the necessary repairs as close to factory design as possible. Thanks in advance to you gurus and stay tuned!

8 pointsHere’s the famed little blue truck... 2018 sure was fun! If I recall, there were 6,000 or less miles on that truck about that time!

7 pointsGetting some small stuff knocked off the list today. The rear drive unit belts are on. A linkage cover built with the main drive belt tensioner lever installed. Even installed a light switch along with the throttle cable and ignition switch.

5 pointsThis year has been the worst year we have seen regarding the water level in the Brook that runs through the property since we have been here the last 12 years. In September for the Meet & Greet there was no water in it and now after last night it looks like this. However we did lose power from 1.30 am until 9 this morning and I am sure the wind had something to do with it. For those that were here in September remember driving over the very large rocks that we cross over to get to the other side and that is where the first pic is taken. The highest water levels are in the spring with runoff from snow melt and my favorite time to watch and listen from the camp porch.

5 pointsgrowing up in new York city , something that was very common , like on every street corner were , CANDY STORES . there was penny candy , 5 cent candy and a fountain service , to make you a coke or an " egg cream " basically vanilla or chocolate syrup seltzer water , frizzed , like ice cream soda , without ice cream , 12 cents. deposit bottles were 2 cents , so if you managed to scrounge up maybe 25 cents , you were living large , 5 cent candy bar , 10 cents in penny candy , 5 cent bag of chips , 5 cent coke . we also had the last , of the corner marble counter drug stores , that was amazing to see , counter service , everything in polished Nickle and marble , one of the few a/c units in the upper doorway , always ice cold , on a hot summer day . slush box soda cooler, guaranteed instant headache on a hot day ! when I look at a $ 1.39 for a candy bar today , it instantly brings me back , ww2 vets everywhere , do anything for you , the smell of oiled leather in a sporting good store , lots full of NOS military surplus , boy scouts , we had navy vets , show us how to purchase and prepare food , think its time for an ice cream soda , pete

5 pointsShe's definitely not a tractor person, but she does humor me by being willing to be part of pictures. Can't you see the look of joy in her face as she's seeing my new H for the first time?
-
5 pointsI'm probably overthinking this. Rod stock isn't that hard. I'll pick up a brand new bit to do it. I've spent enough time on the internet. I promised the wife I'd replace a bathroom sink today. It's quarter after 4, and so far all I've done is think about it. That ain't gonna get it done.
-
5 pointsThanks for the tips. I've had two Wheel Horse snow blowers, but this is my first WH plow. Previously, I used a Power King to plow. I'm putting the plow on this bad boy. It came with a blower, which I sold. An unexpected surprise was that it came with a set of brackets mounted to the axle. I have rear weights ready to go on, and will be filling the tires. 2 link chains and firestone tri-ribs are on their way and should be here in a few days.
-
5 pointsYou did great at $60! I bought some 1/2" rod at Lowe's and made them up for one of mine.
-
5 pointsYep...First tractor I restoed was to be put up on blocks and a queen only. Then @Achto got me into shows so the tractor went too.... and got rained on and muddy and field plowed and hauled tubs and chain piled and whatever else it was needed for. Dan's restoes and refreshes are far better than mine and he sticks them in the dirt regular but next time I see them they are just as clean as the day he restoed them. So don't ride them hard and put them away wet I guess is what I'm sayin.

4 points@Buzz, I hope you have a great birthday! Though I’m not sure we met, I believe your old carcass went from Richard to myself. Rylee loved the hood, so we upgraded her “Screamin’ Jimmy” Commando 800.

Back in the 40"s and 50's when I was growing up It could be full from and after noon thunder storm. I just have 200 ft. across the back where thee small branches run together. Then It runs 15' or so South of my property line.

4 pointsShe's one of a kind. A while back she had a knee replaced. Naturally, I came up with a way to help her recovery that involved the use of a tractor. I don't want to veer too far off the subject of the original post, but it does involve a snow plow. Power King Physical Therapy Enhancer

4 pointsYes, Richard, they certainly are easy to service. I've had 5 Wheel Horses over the years. Most times I did an internet search on an issue I was having, it brought me here. I don't know why I hadn't registered earlier (actually, I do - I'm a habitual procrastinator. . I'll complete the introduction and also plan on becoming a supporting member.

4 pointsMost of my spending money came from either return "coke" bottles (down here in the south all soft drinks are cokes) or scrounged scrap metal at a penny a pound -- I most always had 40-50 cents in my pocket.............. sigh! geez what good memories!!

4 pointsI work all my tractors, restored or not. They all get a bath before bed time though. I will admit that I'm a little more careful with my restored ones and try to only touch or handle the items that are made out of plastic, rubber or vinyl. In other words - Keep your paws off of the painted surfaces.
-
4 pointsThat angle iron arrangenment makes adapting pretty much possible. The pics are from my WH truck project when I decided to use a predator 13 in place of a Kohler 8. I had the 8 fit and a lot of fab work done when I decided to make the change and of course I wanted to leave the fuel tank on the 13 so I channeled the frame a bit. Just a example of the work. Oh also, I used another piece of angle to box the from where it was made 14 inches longer.
-
4 pointsNo sense in more pics Eric. A picture this morning would look just the same. They were still predicting it as of the 11:00 report last night. Didn't happen. Dang fickle lake effect. No playtime for me. Nancy takes care of the sidewalks. Obviously she's slacking off. Oh yea. Bob wears socks. Usually two pair and insulated boots. Gotta keep the tootsies warm.

4 pointsNot telling you what to do Green but here is what I would do. First off strip her down to parade rest noting what issues she might have have when doing so. If the motor runs decent a doesn't smoke a great deal leave it alone but pull the tins and clean. If is smokes a little no big deal ... I do but I won't let them tear into me. Clean everything up and back together she goes fixing the issues so noted in dissassembly. The nice thing here is since it is a mechanical resto only fixes don't have to be perfect just solid unless you have an open wallet. This is where the elbow grease comes in with the hood and other parts to prevserve patina. Your Meguliar's is fine on the hood or other body parts. Personally I would try and fine sand off light PO rattle cans if present and linseed oil. Last thing then would be to enjoy her and putt... not 60 MPH trail bombs as I know you enjoy .... save that for others that are not quite as special as a 701 but then again your tractor. BTW endeavor to find the SG belt guard...it's one of the things that make this tractor special. Your skills you should be able to repro one. I just happened to have a extra but like my guns you will not pry them outta my cold dead hands!

4 pointsAfter living in Florida all these years, I'm surprised we don't have a video of Bob cleaning off all of the snow on his sidewalk.
-
4 pointsIt would be nice for Wheel Horse tractors to go back into production starting from the beginning with the walk behinds. Every year they produce a decade of models. Oh and they are priced the same as when new back in the day👍
