9 pointsI would put 5 more on there and let'm finish the whole pile! Then go inside, get myself a nice cocktail or three and consider the wood splitting work done
-
6 pointsThat last pic, looks like they’ve had their fare share today! Might either join them or steer clear!

5 pointsI took the 42SD off the 312....about fie minutes. Installed the tiller....about 30 minutes. Tilled the garden, strawberries, blackberries, and shrubs.....two hours. Then added the roadapples.

5 pointsI can’t take a trailer into to my property using the van since somehow I can’t back the thing down my steep driveway. So I always get a tractor to do that from street. It’s always a heavy load so the big guy comes out.
-
5 pointsHaha! I think this “ Adult beverage on the hood situation” is a regular occurrence. Go ahead...do that reprimand thing...I dare ya

5 pointsOne of the best chipper/shredders ever made and still made https://www.mackissicchippers.com/ch.html Remove the recoil starter and you will come to a square shaft that will only rotate one way - the starter clutch. There should be a flat disc on the end of it with a small hole in it. Squirt some oil in the hole. That loads up a felt that supplies lubrication to a bushing in the center. When the engine is running the crankshaft is spinning inside the bushing. That is likely the source of the squeal. I think they recommend oiling it once a year. Garry

5 pointsWhich now resides in dad’s horse barn next to the tractor that caused me to search out this forum... You figured out my shenanigans Uncle Jim!!!😂. Actually, what could be a better birthday present annually than to spend time with my family and friends doing one of my favorite hobbies—turning earth! So far, the classic present dolled out at JC PD was Tom and Mikes gift to Caleb last year so that he wouldn’t miss another plow day😉

5 pointsIts been almost 13 months to the day but.........It's Finally Done! I will say that this one has been the most aggravating and yet satisfying project. As always it seems like I had a "Cast of Thousands" watching my back all the time. Folks who spotted problems that I didn't see (Tractorhead/Peter Lena) Folks who helped out when "Mr It Just Needs a Bigger Hammer" broke things (Ed Kennal/WHX24) And the folks who came up with better ideas, hints and unlimited humor and encouragement (EBINMAINE and PULLSTART to name a few) So take a look. I started out to make this a "user" but may have got a little carried away Bob (might have to finish that bathroom before the next one)

4 pointsGot my snowblower mounted. I’ve never had it on. Looks like a beast! i do need the rod for turning the chute if anyone knows where I can get one let me know. The guy I bought it from couldn’t find it.

4 pointsAll right boys and girls. We got ourselves a situation. I was at work today. Busting my back and earning some clams so I could bring home the bacon. My female took the day off from work so she could spend the day around the ranch getting some stuff done. I come cruising into the yard this afternoon and what do I find? Aforementioned female and her mom have borrowed my Horse to pull the log splitter down from another location so they could use it next to the pile of logs in the back "yahd". See the hood of the poor poor Cinnamon Horse?? It has been undignifyingly and reprehensibly reassigned as an adult beverage shelf. The miserably wretched former stallion... WHAT SHOULD I DO??? Is the Horse going to need counseling? Does my female deserve reprimand? Should the log splitting earn time off for positive actions?

4 pointsWell I took care of this C-160 today too. Mafiaing tractors is getting to be a bad habit. Dan you got a heck of a mess to clean up 'for the old lady gives me the what for!

4 pointsPoppycock ... let it be known that Jack's birthday is 10/21 and it just so happened in '17 his b day was on plow day. That said we had a bit of a b day party for him and he got lots of cool presents including a real nice collector/restorer banner that @stevasaurus got him! Now all that said fellas me thinks Jack is fishing for more plowers in hopes he gets more cool presents! I'm hip to your gig Josh! The original RS plow gang .... pretty rough crowd!

3 pointsI happen to be a Generac employee. But don't tell my mom, she thinks I'm a DJ at an exotic dance club. Any way, let me know what you need & I'll see if the parts are still available or if an up grade can be done.
-
3 pointsAll good advice folks. Much appreciated. @pullstart them empties are from a previous work episode.... Mostly.

3 pointsMy wife rest her soul was a blonde, when telling about her screw up stories around a campfire would claim even her roots were blonde.
-
3 pointsI'd be stopping at the store for another case and let them have at it for the rest of the weekend, poor hood??? You don't work for the paint dept!!
-
3 pointsI don't see the issue.Truth be known many an adult beverage has been set on the horse hoods here. The only sin would be if the engine is hot.My missus threw a logging chain onto the hood of my dump truck when we were working a clear cut many years ago.Truck didn't care.
-
3 pointsI guess I would bring this up with your paint department & see what kind of comments that you get. My personal paint department would & has come unglued over such a thing though.

3 pointsWhat a beautiful sunset...this was the other night when they finished chopping hay next door . It’s the the neighbors Allis Chalmers 7580 with a Cummins 8.1L upgrade .

3 pointsMy first job this morning after I got over to Dunc's, was to sort out the recoil starter on his wacker plate. There was a broken pin inside the mechanism. To cut a long story short, failed to fix it. Reverted to the good old fashioned way of cord round a pulley and got it going. Ramp in workshop doorway got wacked down. Put the guttering up on the right hand side of the carport. BTW. A bat has taken up residence in part of the middle truss. Bat droppings on the floor. Some kind of sheet is going to be fitted below where it roosts. Otherwise Fiona is going to be kept busy. Final job was some work on the Case tractors hitch. It has a missing pin and still has. We couldn't find anything for a suitable temp' replacement. Not bad for a 32 year old tractor. Rear gable end of workshop was finished yesterday. Makes the roof seem higher. Digger has a nice new cab on now, after being hit by the runaway tractor. It was an insurance job and even came back with an air freshener in.

3 pointsI'm working on a Brand X mower deck that has a few cracks. No rot, just cracks.Looking for opinions on repairing the cracks.Weld from the top? Weld from the bottom? Weld both top and bottom? Thanks for any info. Tough times don't last........Tough people do.

3 pointsThe first time I did that I was about twelve years old and it was with the C165 I still have now. At half throttle it was already 11-12 mph and definitely isn't the type of machine built for that speed; now she'll run about 8 mph at full throttle which is about where they should have been from the factory. Oh come on dad! You're no fun!

3 pointsTo restore a garden tractor from the ground up as a financial investment is rarely one that comes back with a positive investment. If you want a GREAT worker and you're going to use it for yourself for years to come you kind of can't go wrong when you compare it to the new cheap disposable stuff on the market today. Compare what you have into it now with the $2,000 to $4,000 that you would spend on paper thin sheet metal. As an investment for myself for my own usage I would have no concern whatsoever on spending $3,000 to $5,000 on one of these if I was going to keep it. As resale? Wouldn't even think about it.

3 pointsThat is a gold clone of a Husqvarna and for mowing lawns they aren't really bad at all. I just sold one very similar to that with a deck for $350 but it was a 22HP model and otherwise identical to yours. Of course I went through it and serviced it out to make sure it was good for the next owner; I am in a state of perpetual amazement to see what people are asking for basically junk on the local ads. Running engines like that usually fetch $100-150 from the boneyards around here but they sometimes wont include a starter or solenoid. With that rig being a non-hyrdo, I smell a racing tractor in the near future.

3 pointsBig ole’ sun rising Seems I’ve seen that red before? Oh yeah! My Wheel Horse!
-
3 pointsI have a slug of brass that I hold under the larger gaps/missing piece areas when filling. If you get the heat just right, welding one side is all that is necessary. Just look and see if you got good penetration. Drilling a small hole at the end of the major cracks tends to stop the re-crack or migrations. I weld that thin stuff vertical down.

3 pointsStarted shining up the 655 today. Someone repainted it, I think with a roller lol. I went after it with 1000 to find what’s left of the original paint, then 1500 and a buffer. Killer patina, and sparkly. Very sparkly, like a holiday

3 pointsThanks for the pic and all the help I now have it running well!!!!

3 pointsIts a "parrot" . Used while distilling for constant monitoring of alcohol proof.
-
2 pointsInteresting @Achto Before I retired, the utility I worked for had 90% Generac machines of all sizes. Over my 40 years, I spent some intimate time with a few of them. Just like these tractors, rarely anything major. just a safety switch or relay.
