8 pointsThe Deck roller‘s are prepared to be back on. they‘re not new, so i decided a brush paintjob is enough, just to prevent rust. Only i have to clean the border a bit with a cutterknife and they be ready for reuse. at least i mount a new and stiffer Spring onto the Clutchpedal. the old was very weak.

6 pointsI got a c121 and two c-145s last week. Having trouble with windows 10 loading pictures,but here goes. When you look at the three tractor picture, the c-121 on the left ran poorly until i cleaned the carb. it is using oil to some extent. the tractor in the middle is marked c-145 and is in unknown engine condition and has a totally knackered plastic fender pan and no deck. the other c-145 runs ,but has a weak spark. The bonus is a set of ag tires and a front blade. the c-121-8 had an ask price of 220.00 and i happily paid it.. The pair of tractors with the front blade and ags was on marketplace and the ad asked for 500 for all, but then he did not reply, and my sense is that the buyers kept trying to poor mouth the price and [since it was pulled from marketplace and returned], I happened to catch him ready to sell as he knew i was only 4 miles away and a cash buyer. I did not think I heard him correctly, so I took more money. After telling me he as sick of messing with low ballers for a week, he gave the whole shebang to me for $200.00. His price and first offer. I had the money counted and in my hand when I stepped out of the car Don't hate me He wants a running Wheel Horse and might be interested if i get one going for him. Also, what do you think of my back saving high lift platform. it's called a High position motorcycle lift and it is a harbor freight. I use it all the time for many things. Rated at 1100 pounds, I keep it at bout 750 max. i have always considered Harbor freight ratings sort of like dog years.... These two tractors have really old dry caked dust on them, but appear to have spent most of their lives stored inside. I am really hopeful for at the last 14 HP to be a runner....

5 pointsI believe i did a gently Fail.... no, non on the Above. While my Horse Actually is an Outsitter, i take Care with Fluid Film against Rust, iI had in the past great Results with that Stuff, but the last Bottle i got was announced with „reworked Mixture“. I hate it to read that, what normally meant‘s allway‘s „not the same stuff as before“ in my experience. So after i taked care last week, i used the new Bottle First time and because it‘s hardly rain in the nights, It was washed off and i see two day‘s later a light rust on the Surface. While i try to keep the Patina, i thinkered maybe it‘s a good idea, mix few dribbs of Red Paint with that Stuff to see what‘s happen. My hope was, it will be keep the Fluidfilm longer even on a night with strong Rain. The next day i use the Paint 1:10 mixed on the Hoodstand Trunk to see what‘s happen. no further Fresh rust occurs but it covers the Patina too strong. Yesterday i firstly gently removed the fresh brown rust on the Hood with a finegrinding fleece and after that i thinkering i use it to protect the Hood. I changed on later night the Mixture again more thinner with 1:50 one cl paint and 50 cl Fluidfilm. The result was a extrem transparency red, what seems not really be able to hide or cover the patina that‘s on the Surface. When i cam home i lurk what‘s happen with the mixture and it still was also transparency as fresh mixed, no divorce of the Fluidfilm or the Paint. I become brave and rolled the whole hood with that extreme thin mixture That‘s the Result for now... and a older Pict to compare i wonder that it was dry after 3 min. The Plow mount i also have painted with that Paint plain after cleanup, degrease and grounding needs the whole night and wasn‘t completely dry today in the Evening. i have headscratches, it normally seems impossible to cover that patina while applicate. 3 minutes later i have the above result.

5 pointsI'm not saying that you don't need a short frame w/ hydraulics. Another option: Could be I know a guy that's kinda handy with a torch, welder, & duct tape that could just cobble a frame together. May be even put some forks on it.

4 pointsI'm using rain water to leach out the potassium hydroxide, you can use tap water for the same purpose. No need to heat the water use it cold. Filled the cut off water tank full to the top, once the water was added the solids shrunk. I then refilled the tank to the brim then let the water rain out slowly. The ph paper shows the liquid coming off to be very alkaline - caustic. You can use the potassium hydroxide to make soap or use it as a de-greaser which is much better at cutting through grease than sodium hydroxide aka lye. Hot tank your next engine rebuild in potassium hydroxide. Keep in mind not to introduce pot metal, aluminum or brass parts into the alky solution, they may not be there when you come back to check on them hours later.

4 pointsBeautiful machine you got! yeah the tractor I have now has the k301 (12hp) and its awesome but after running the model number here with the help from everyone its deteremined its originaly a c100 but someone changed it to be a c120 so I might bring her back to her glory as a c100 and yes now I have an excuse to find an original 120! lol

3 pointsSo, this kind of was destined to show up, I guess. My wife found it a while back and was trying to buy it for me for our anniversary, but I was already in the middle of helping @Bow_Extreme get a deal on it! Well, come to find out, he called looking to possible unload it. SOLD SOLD SOLD! The color is odd, but it adds character. I think it’ll stay. I’m thinking this might show up to Uncle Jim’s Plow day, snowblower engine and all to work the field!

3 pointsWelcome @Mike_c120! A 10 horse engine has likely all the power you need, shy of a 60” deck (that wouldn’t fit your machine) or a 2 stage snowblower. I run numerous ground engaging attachments behind Putt Putt, my ‘62 502 that I’ve spruced up with an 8 hp Kohler and a C series 8 speed transmission. If you need, by all means use this excuse to look for another Wheel Horse or five though!

3 pointsIt’s hard to take a picture when you’re in action, but I had my 2 year old niece yesterday and we took an hour and a half nap ride on Stormy and the FEL. I chose the most comfortable seat for our ride, knowing what was in store. We also played on Jane with the mid mount road grader and Rylee’s 401 too.

2 pointsVery likely some sort of brass/silver solder, they appear to have been made sorta like when plumbers "sweat" a fitting. These "D's" are some fine tractors but theres no getting around that they are a plumb pain in the bu## to work on!

2 pointsNice one Norm. I strimmed the verge opposite, cut a load of bracken down that is choking the wildflowers, helped site and camouflage a hedgehog winter house and did a few other bits and bobs. Used Fred but while trundling along the brake drum managed to drop off. The bolt had come loose and fallen out. So no brakes but the gear braking was fine. Found both the drum and the bolt so quickly mended.

2 pointsAttacked the C-125 and Sears GT16 with the grease gun. Checked oils and filled with fuel. 36" deck, after a few shots of grease, fitted to the C-125 and land roller to the Sears. Rolled the verge at the top of the lane where cattle had left imprints. That to care of the morning. Afternoon was spent strimming and mowing green, verges and lawn as usual. Deck was the removed and cleaned off. Also blew off the C-125. Finally the day was finished off sitting with an adult beverage, on the bench on the green, admiring the fruits of my labours.

2 pointsSome things that are strange to me are the following. The hood is a 1976 or later (no hood ornament or holes). The rear fender pan is bolted on, not hinged in the back to open to a tool box, and the seat is hinged to flip forward like the 1976's and later. The engine has an oil dipstick tube, not found on the 10 HP models, but found on 12 HP and up. My humble opinion is that you did indeed purchase a C-120 that has an incorrect ID tag.

2 pointsi only say that because ive been searching for a c120 8 speed for a long while and jumped on the first one that came up, but whoever changed it up did a good job with the decals and changing out the engine to the 12hp as well! ight look for a c120 now as well and bring this one back to her original glory as a c100! Now I might be on the look out for a year matching hood too. thank you for all the help with this!

2 pointsI toured the Corvette assembly plant a number of years ago. I noted that the first assembly to be installed on the chassis was the dash board. I could see something like that happening at the WH plant with the hydraulic pump.

2 pointsYeah, its a 'D' looks like a 160 and with there being no headlights its one of the barebones model, may not have a 3 point or PTO. I have one like that with only accessory was being the 3 point hitch. Guy ordered it that way just to tow boats around in his boat business..... $250 kinda pushing it, looks pretty rough. Course if the deck is good and especially if that K341 is useable then its good -- but, thats the case with any of these "weed" finds, its just a gamble!! Some times you get a home run and sometimes ----- NOT!!!

Took some more pics of it in the shed tonight. I'd mess with it more, but I'm getting ready to go camping all next week so I'm prepping the camper for that.

2 pointsBrazing would certainly hold - if you are comfortable with doing brazing. Oddly enough I seem to run across more people saying they just couldnt get the hang of it, and yet can weld easily. One BIG aspect of it is getting it clean (course you really need that in any welding!) You really havent much to lose, if it works, great, if not then you were gonna have to get one any how -- that leak is very likely gonna get worse

2 pointsJust for a change... she who must be obeyed has issued a communique that the rear door of our house shall be moved to a new, better and more convenient position in the kitchen rather than at the side of the house. Alarmed at the quote of over 1000 of our earth pounds to do the job I sourced a custom made door for 350 and I will cut the hole and fit the door myself.... how hard can it be? Right. Made a start moving the kitchen base unit that is in the way, two water pipes and a gas pipe need moving and a couple of bits of electrickery. To use the local lingo and excuse the cussing..."Piece of piss"

2 pointsI’m back with an update. I drained the engine oil to the proper level, and the breather tube “spitting” diminished significantly, but not completely. I rewired the engine. I ran a new fuel line, and replaced the tank grommet and fuel shutoff, but need to flush the tank. I’m running it off an old mower tank for now. The safety switches are still bypassed, and the rectifier wiring is original. The headlights work, but still need to be rewired. Tailiights don’t work yet. The prior owner was cleaning out his garage and found the air filter cover, so a few bucks saved. I replaced the filter and filled the tranny. I moved the tractor forward and backward about ten yards each way four or five times. Everything works smooth. The tractor creeps in neutral, and will need adjusting. The brake pad lining is gone, and the brake doesn’t move to make contact with the wheel. Not sure yet if it needs adjusting or If a part is missing. I need to recheck the compression. The tranny oil all leaked out through the wheel seal. I’ll soak the hub with Kroill and let it steep for the winter. Hopefully I’ll have the same luck it had with the engine last winter. So, I was making good progress for a few weekends. Ever hear the old saying “ life is that thing that happens while you’re making other plans”? About 6 weeks ago, right before we were heading to the camp for 2 weeks, my wife encountered a medical problem . Tests and procedures are ongoing. I went up this weekend to pull the boats and begin the shutdown process. A second trip will complete the process in the next few weeks. No WH work for the rest of this year. Thanks everyone for your help, and rest assured I’ll be back in the Spring to pick brains .
