9 pointsI keep dragging home this oddball non-horse stuff lately. Neat tractor and always wanted to add an AC to the collection. It was the right price and it runs like a champ. I'm gonna pressure wash it and see what it looks like after that. I'm not an AC guy and am not familiar with what is original and what isn't so I'm gonna get a bit of an education. My dad went with me to get it and he sure looks happy mowing with it lol

7 pointsAt a tractor show last weekend I was unable to get the 1055 out of third gear, a 5049 three speed. No neutral no reverse no nothing but third. Real pain as the only way to stop and dismount was to kill the engine. I didn't want to force it due to possibly making things worse so just ran it as is till it could get in the shop. Got it in the shop and pulled the shifter and easily found the H neutral with a big screwdriver. Reinstalled the shifter and all was well. I think what happened was the 1st/reverse shift rail slid over just enough to block the the 2nd/3rd rail from moving but yet was not in two gears at once. This is a really rough sounding tranny that I put back together from a real mess so the gear mesh is somewhat sloppy but she is what she is. Figured good enough for the women we go out with. I got this tractor set up for a little @Racinbob speed so makes the noise worse. Don't remember if I put the detent stop pin in the spring or not but thinking the spring is a little weak or the detent balls are worn?? It shifts almost a little too easy into gears. Sorry no pics... but these before and after cleanup.

Morning fix Red Square Afternoon score Red Square too HHHMMM no problem here Note: I'm going with 5-7-5 syllables - not the traditional Japanese form, since my Japanese is a bit, shall we say, rusty (kinda like my ...).

6 pointsStopped by my WH dealer today to pick up some parts and this tractor was out front on display. Do not know much about them or even the model but it looks pretty rugged. This brand is what took the place of our beloved WheelHorse at this dealership.

4 pointsWe’re talking about more than overspray and decal washing, right? I’m thinking the wet sand will bring the best results... but seriously EB. When we’re you concerned with it being Regal Ted?

4 pointsWelcome to the forum. It almost sounds like the transmission is in low range. Third gear in low range is something like 1.5 mph. 1sr gear is really creeps. The high/low range gear shift lever is the short one in front. The left position is low range, the right position is high range. Don't force this lever - shifter fork damage might be the result. Good luck.

3 pointsThe last bunch of new Carlisle tires I got were imported. For snow, wide tires are not your friend. Wide tires tend to 'float' on top of the snow, while narrower tires will tend to sink down to get a better grip on the driveway surface.

3 pointsLots of diah soap in the water and wet sand with 320 - 400 grit wet or dry black sandpaper, applying lots of that soapy water during the process. Of course, have Trina test on an inconspicuous area first, because obviously, you won't be doing this. Mothers mag an aluminum polish on the decals.

3 pointsThat should have a cast iron Briggs with a starter/gen, nothing under the fly wheel but air. Even the points would be accessible with out removing the fly wheel. With any luck a solid state coil was installed backwards on the engine hence eliminating the points. The bevel gear box is under the seat. On the right hand side is a belt that runs to the tranny. Put the tractor in neutral an see how much rotation you can get out of the front pulley before it catches the engine. Any thing under 1/8 of a turn is good, up to a 1/4 turn will still work. Anything beyond that it will require service, (shims or a rebuild) Rebuild can get spendy, around 3 Benny's in parts. Very nice looking Allis you have!!

3 pointsAnother buddy of ours has got a really sharp restoed one. Can just see it peeking out in this lineup, have to see if I have more pics of it.

3 pointsAll kidding aside Prayers for all the sane folks living on the west coast! I couldn't imagine living out there worrying about a fire destroying everything you have. They do have some funky weather. Making a funny is my way of coping with tragedy.

3 pointsAppreciate it fellas, and apologies for the terrible text which I just noticed, WOW ha! Promise I was sober- it was sent from the 'field' on my phone. @PeacemakerJack as you have pointed out over the course of educating me in this thread, high heels and chisel pointing have been an ongoing issue. This thing wont even think about sucking in without an extreme amount of 'heel up'. Granted, this clay is tough- it did a decent job in the spring, but this past weekend as seen in the video, there were times it was buried and digging great, and other times be cutting 2-3", if that. @WHX24 yes sir, running a Brinly sleeve hitch, however, need to fab up a plate so the plow can be hooked up and moved to the right side hole and still be snugged up. You're not gonna stop giving me hell about a hotrodded, pulley swapped plow machine, are ya? It really, truly does a proper job in high range 1, half throttle, maybe 3mph. No, I cant deny making a couple 5-7mph test passes, but that is a handful, makes a terrible looking furrow, not to mention hard on the equipment and as mentioned before- a sure way to get lynched at a plow day HA! I just love being able to stick it in high range 3rd and putt around at 5-6mph just off idle and listen to that Kohler thump! If someone doesn't get a plow day going out here on the east coast, think I'm gonna have to plan a 2000 mile round trip to join you fellas one day and learn a thing or 10 from the pros.

3 pointsI don't think the location of the shaft is that important if you plan to alter the belt guard to fit the new engine. Just remember it is critical to position the guard so the bottom flange supports the belt during declutching. The guard must support the loose belt to prevent it from sagging ang gripping the engine output pulley.

3 pointsYou might have a wheel horse addiction if someone tells you about wheel horse parts and you drive 2 1/2 hours one way because they was cheap! Telling yourself you could use a part or too! 😂 Just throw them in the van as you would groceries! Taking pride in your new trophies!!
