10 pointsToday I had to replace a carb on the old 702 and decided to put on the grader blade even though it isn’t finished and had to try it out and of course when I was done the kids wanted to go for a tub ride
-
10 pointsWe just stopped at the Iowa 80 truck stop. Place is unbelievably huge! No wonder it’s known as the World's Largest Truck Stop!!
-
9 pointsHappy Birthday Stevasaurus! Hope you have a great day today! You are a big reason that the old guys (and tractor transmissions) are staying alive! it’s a good thing you came from good stock!
-
7 pointsAnyone use one of these? Picked it up cheap about a month ago and making some changes to it. Just welded the frame (it was bolted with pipe) and about to add a linear actuator for dump mechanism. Wonder how much fabrication it would take to attach it to the front?

7 pointsHad a phone call from Liam, No1 grandson with the navy in Cyprus. Seems like we're going to be great grandparents Really made up for him and Jemma his wife. Only seems like five minutes ago he was helping wash my Yamaha FZR 1000, with a feather at just over a year old.

7 pointsStarted our return trip home today after visiting Farmall-Land tractor museum. We’re still in Iowa and will probably spend the night. We’ve seen some beautiful territory and Emory is even coming home with a 702 of his own!

5 pointsDo you guys put Blankets on the Horses the way I do, or am I just some rare HORSE FANATIC that has to put his Horses to sleep nightly after use
-
5 pointsSure....If you have a name for your tractor, please contact 19richie66 for a Motorcycle plate. He does wonderful drawings, the son does incredible welding....HES A PROFESSIONAL . They take scrap and transform it into your nameplate for your Horse. I want a comission....Not Really.....hehehehe

5 pointsMy next door neighbor had his driveway paved the other day. He asked me if I would like all of the #57 stone that they would have to remove. Of course I said yes. So the crew scraped up all 125 x 12 linear feet of stone and delivered it to my new pole building. That's a lot of stone. I estimated it to be at least 12 tons. So I gassed up the 416-H and spent the rest of the day spreading it around.
-
5 pointsIf you use the hood as a welding table like @WHX24, you might catch the blankies on fire!
-
5 pointsPretty often I need to dispose of scrap wood that I always save . Kind of bored with birdhouses so now I decided to make these until the stock runs out. Let’s me use up also the cutoffs from closet Ike’s from previous jobs.

5 pointsDecided to clean out and reorganize the back shop. Moved out all the rakes, shovels and misc lawn tools to access the 48'' dozer blade that I bought new in 1991. This blade was used for 10 years and then stored once I bought the 44'' 2 stage blower. Did not plan to do anything other than wash it but once I got it outside and with a beautiful day to paint I decided to touch it up a bit. Removed the original cutting edge which looks like I can flip it and use the other edge for some time. Decided to paint the front and the bottom of the back for now as I am just about done painting for this year. I did find a NOS cutting edge also that I bought with the blade but have not needed it yet. When Patti came home from work I wanted her to see what I had done, she laughed when she saw 6 tractors parked in there and I asked her which was her favorite out of the 520,420, 418,417,312 or the 1977 C- 120 with the WD 40 finish and guess which one she picked, the C-120 and I asked why ? She said she likes the old look of the paint. I told her I did also and hopefully you may see more of that look next Saturday.

5 pointsTrina, Meeha, 2 of our close friends and I went on our first backpacking trip. Trina and I have done many many mountain hikes but always from a base camp. Yesterday we left right from the house to hike about a mile up the road to the trailhead. We climbed Bill Merrill Mt. Trina and our friend Jen went about scouting the forest for a campsite then we all Set up camp. Relaxed a bit and had a meal. This morning we woke and had coffee then broke camp and came home. A wonderful experience. The weather was lovely. The company was the best there is.

4 pointsSaw this at a filling station and had to grab some pics. Guy had a tub on the back and was filling his gas cans. Looks to be a simplecityfranken landlord ... claimed the wheel weights went 150 lbs each!

4 pointsThis one just turned thirty years old.... 1990 S10.... this was a father son project that sat for many years unfinished after my son passed in 2005....last year I decided I needed to rearrange to make room for some new Horse purchases and finished it up, bittersweet but glad I did it.... my son's plan was a booming big block but since I am closing in a whole lot more years than him I slipped a 283 in so I could basically use the stock throttle body - the 6 cylinder 4.3 (267 CI) was so close it seemed like it should work fine... and it does. But the 283 SOUNDS so much better and has plenty of power for cruising the Cape occasionally. At 74 I still autocross occasionally ..since this is basically a Camaro with a square body thought it might be fun to make it go around corners....but that's for next year.

4 pointsScored some new toys for the horsies today. ST-326 blower, seems to be complete except the chute adjustment cable, everything but the gauge wheels moves freely, $75. 42 inch deck, complete with mule drive and PTO belt, missing spindle belt and needs blades, $150. $225 out the door.

4 pointsHappy Labor Day to all. Got out the two wheeler and went for a 120 mile ride in Northeast Ct. with my dad, some nice country roads up that way. After we parted ways I kinda still wanted to ride so headed towards the Ct River to a couple spots to watch boats pass by (could do that for hours )..then chose a huge loop to get back home. 205 miles total today.

4 pointsSome artist in Chilliwhack BC did a few huge metal sculptures of dragons made from titanium, careful heating of the metal made colourful oxides. I'll have to see if Pat still has the pictures i sent her from BC, these were awesome creations.

4 pointsCongrats Norm. Old saying is: You're only as old as you feel. I'm 5 in the mind for sure. Physical age depends on many variables.

4 pointsThank You all for the Great Birthday Wishes. Doing a big Prime Rib Roast today, and it is just beautiful outside today. It's going to be a good one.

4 pointsA scratch awl is too sharp and would stick every time you struck it. My preferred method is with a large nail with point ground a certain shape. I use that along with a tiny jewelers hammer so as to keep depths uniform. I have also specially made stamps but I don’t like the outcome since the shape of stamp is always noticeable. Stippling needs to be absolutely random in order to look good.i used this same two nails for the last 30 years.

4 pointsHappy Labor Day Gang! Thanks for all that your hard work does to profit your families, communities, states, and ultimately our country! As the old proverb says, “In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.” We enjoyed a day at the pontiac car show with three generations of Stertz boys driving GTO’s... Tomorrow, I need to install my new Diamond Eye exhaust on the Excursion, then it is time to measure up the house and garage roof for standing seam roof steel. That will be a project for about two weeks from now... Have a great day!

4 pointsNice haul Tom!! Wife & I are having a staycation this weekend. But ya I'm a bit tractor heavy. Jim may be tractor heavy, but he still would have been all over that haul if he wasn't dedicating this weekend to score some Joe Exotic underwear before supplies are gone.
-
4 pointsTook the 1075 and 1467 out today for a ride around the block to test out the semi-finished road.

3 pointsHope everyone has a good day off tomorrow! I spent today putting EFI on a Corvair, and then changed the starter and fuel pump on my dad's '71 RS Camaro.. Tomorrow I'm off work but I'm heading to a friends house to see if we can get either of the two Porsche 928's he just bought running. It's not work if you're having fun, right?!

3 pointsNice score !! Love the headlights on it. Mine sat in a garage unused for decades. Rebuilt the carb, flushed and repaired the gas tank, new solenoid and it runs like a swiss watch.
