16 pointsAnother week on the Delaware Bay. The crabs cooperated. Social Distancing... not a problem on Slaughter Beach, Delaware. This is the only creature I ran into all day.

11 pointsa couple weeks ago i posted a picture of a 1969 Workhorse 700 that i picked up from Facebook Marketplace in Wisconsin. i said my plan was to put on a H-70 that i had , fix a few things , grease it up . sharpen the blades and then go mow. after all that and new belts , new battery , new switches , new wiring , etc i can now say mission accomplished first picture as it was at the previous owners.....the second picture in my backyard after mowing for the third time with it. yes, i kept the headlights...they have grown on me
-
11 pointsWell i added new led head lights and under body lights to the 520-8 the wife ask what are you doing that for and i said so i have a reason to drive my horse around at night and I also painted the inner flywheel cover from black to red to match the tractor all the light can flash and fade and they can change colors and the head lights do have white also just think the red is more fitting

10 pointsLoader looks great on there Josh!! It will be handy for banking up the corners on the dirt track that the kids will be needing.
-
10 pointsMuch thanks to Tom @Shynon and Uncle Jim @WHX24 for keeping on me about purchasing this KW loader for Kelli’s Dxi. I was dragging my feet for awhile but with their urging, I made the run to Iowa and got it! It took me time to get it hooked up but today was the day I put it into service... Here it is with the brackets attached and ready to accept the loader frame. Todays project was to remove the old sandbox. It would’ve taken a lot of time with a shovel and a wheelbarrow! the view from the operators station. Obviously, with power steering this was a breeze to drive one handed. The foot controlled hydro allowed my left hand to manipulate the loader controls freely as needed. It is hard to express how much fun it is to play with this machine. I’m looking forward to making some modifications to the bucket for some other purposes and then finding more uses for it! in about 30 minutes I had the sand box pretty well cleared out. So glad that in the end I decided to purchase this plug and play loader. It seems to work really well!

8 pointsBack in action again, not really a tech engine fan but this one runs great first pull off she goes. Like @AMC RULES said these early square hoods are undervalued, the more I look at them more I really like them. Thanks too @johnnymag3 for the hood ornament and headlight cover or whatever it's called. Of course thanks again to @Vinylguy for the awesome decals, they fit perfect.

7 pointsToday was my day for trailers. I painted the little dump cart I got a few days ago to match my Lambert. After I finished that I went and looked on Craigslist and found this beauty for 50 bucks !!! I love it, its not a dump but sure is cool. Missing the tailgate, but making another out of wood shouldnt be hard. Anyone ever hear of the maker ?? Debating on if I should leave it alone or paint the fenders, wheels and frame to match my Cub. I got a " Woody" !!!!
-
7 pointsGot a trailer to tote around the horse instead of putting in the back of the pickup. I'm not a fan of driving up or down ramps. Turns out the entire trailer tips back so it becomes one big ramp which is supposed to make things easier. Well, lesson learned. Remove the tiller before driving onto the trailer! Lifted the front two tires and by the time I got them down they were on the tongue of the trailer. I also added front wheel weights to help when I go to remove the horse Saturday. Paint on the trailer is looking a little rough. It could probably do with a coat of WH red in the future. Some day i'll learn my lesson and stop doing wheelies with this tractor.

6 pointsPlaned some Burpee super sauce tomatoes. made 18 pts of salsa from 18.5lbs of tomatoes. Green peppers from the garden but onion from the store. Cilantro from the herb garden. The biggest was 1-1/3lbs most around 3/4lbs . Very meaty

6 pointsI have aquired 6 sets of these if anyone is interested. sold as pairs 1 left and 1 right facing. I am going to mount mine to my red shed but I am sure some of you will get real creative with them.
-
6 pointsYou can just look at the threads and tell it was a fight getting to this point. Thinking the end result was well worth the effort though.
-
6 pointsWe are happy to have you along for the ride. If there is something that you need to know about Wheel Horse and you can't find it here, you can't find it! This is the greatest bunch of guys and gals, with what seems like and infinite amount of knowledge.

6 pointsGood question! I guess I should’ve bought that Lxi that came up for sale about three months ago locally. It was a really good deal. Oh well, as long as Caleb and Claudia are on yard duty with me, momma doesn’t need to be. It does give me a good excuse to keep an eye open for another Xi since I have a mower and blower already😉 For sure dan! I bought Judge an Indian FTR shirt the other day and now he is obsessed with flat track racing Indian has some great commercials on that bike. I feel like they are doing a good job so far of tying them in to their heritage with bikes like the Chieftain but looking at the future with bikes like the Challenger and the Scout! Dirt tracks may very well be a part of my future🤔

5 pointsGot into some prep work and paint on the 418-A footrests and side covers which were quite rusty and had a few dents ,installed one new rubber hood latch that was missing, rear brake return spring, new 2 piece knob with screw for the trans engage lever that had a piece of wire on it for a handle, lubed anything that moves and a few other misc items then a short trail ride.
-
5 pointsGood idea broman! Here's some proof...that these old tired eyes here...clearly ain't what they used to be!
-
4 pointsWell husband and I attached our new reel mower to my 753 and played with just a bit! We never got it adjusted as good as he would have liked but it’s on and works!!! Anyone have advice or info we wouldn’t turn it down 😝!! IMG_5258.MOV

4 pointsGetting ready to crack this tranny open and hoping for the best but it had more water in it than 80/90... Note the shifter ball still in there! Savable?!?! Dying to find out what this is all about!

4 pointsCool machine especially with the combo FEL Josh. A real sensefully add on for a FEL, is a Float valve for the Lift Cylindres. if suggested to change - i did it on Mine. Leveling with a FEL is than much easier to do.
-
4 pointsWe noticed that the hedge appeared to be trimming itself up to about a metre high. After some research it was discovered that our three pet sheep have been doing it. A quick brain storming session over a beer and were have now made it possible for the sheep to trim above a metre....
-
4 pointsWhat no one notice the louvers in the hood!?!? That right there is screaming stick a big vertical Briggs in it, some pullies for speed and lets go lawn mower racing! Don't worry about the mismatched tires they'll get burned off.... Your killing me here Richard!

3 pointsSo Are THREE B-80's a Trio or a Threesome ? Not sure what I was thinking but picked up yet another WH B-80 to add to the herd.... My C-100 8 speed, B-80 Hydro (2 of those) , and now a B-80 4 speed. It runs and works and just needs some general cleaning up....as usual I probably paid too much but $200 seemed ok for a running WH. Is the four speed transmission geared the same as an eight speed but in High Range, or did they use different rear end ratios as a compromise ? This is the first of FIVE that I have acquired that I could actually see the light tan original wheel color ... See if I can get it matched for spraying all 16 rims.... ouch that is going to be a pain !!!! Some pics attached, first pic as seen on Craigslist, then my horse hauler rig, and finally some pics before unloading. At this point I am glad I sold number five the 10-38 rear engine Toro/WH that never quite fit in . My wife aint gonna be happy.... BUT I AM .... Mike B

3 pointsBeen looking for this picture for over a year now and found it a few days ago when I was cleaning the garage a bit. This is a 1967 Chevelle SS with a 427 aluminum head Big Block, 4 speed, 4.88 posi rear, ladder bars and the list goes on with a lacquer paint job. This belongs to a longtime friend who is no longer with us but the car is still around sitting somewhere. He built this to run it on Sundays at New England Dragway but never did race it . On page one of this thread he is the one standing to the right of the engine hoist with the yellow t shirt helping out with the install of the 396 in my 70 SS. This is the only pic I have of it and it measures 30''x20'' so at least I feel like I am still standing next to it. Enjoy

3 pointsI would pull that pipe out and get a 1”conduit lock nut Craig. You don’t want that loosening up
-
3 pointsMaryland crab cakes are the best. Haven't cracked and eaten boiled blue claws with some old bay seasoning since I was a kid. If you rub the crab's belly from front to back they go into a dormant state and will just lay there still. A guy brought a bushel into the bar one night to cook so I did a few and left them sitting on top of the bar upside down. Talk about a surprise when someone picks it up thinking it's dead. OUCH when that pinches! Kind of a stupid prank but it sure was funny!
-
3 pointsThe tiller makes a good wheelie bar does it? I once borrowed the neighbor's disc after plowing my garden with my 8n. The disc was probably one size too big, even with some suitcase weights on the front of the tractor. Found out the disc was a good wheelie bar when I had stopped with both rear wheels in a dead furrow. The whole tractor rotated around the rear axle until the disc hit the ground when I tried to drive out.

3 pointsIt depends few Day‘s to get a Bavarian Flag again... Today it arrives, i know, i‘m late.. 😎 Drove quick into Forrest, to have a nice Picture or that along the Flower‘s
-
3 pointsMe too!! Take the rest of the day off from work so you can show us what's going on in there!!
-
3 pointsThat makes sense. I'll try loading backwards next time. I think it will also put the tires in a more favorable position (wheels on the cross beams) on the trailer. I'm getting a bit of sag on the expanded steel. What size tires did you go with? Do I need to worry about them lifting the front of the tractor at all because they are bigger? I'm hoping the trip this weekend actually happens. I had everything loaded last night to head up north earlier this evening, but I ended up popping a brake line on my way to work. That's what I get for driving a truck older than myself.

3 pointsJust a quick update for those who might've taken interest in this thread: The torque monster is running like a champ! Ignition timing and governor set with timing light (it was only turning 3000-3050rpm! peaks at 3800 now, will need linkage mods to reach 4000, which is the absolute limit I plan to spin her) Switching over to 93 octane this weekend. Next up- long tube header, bored and tricked #30 carb, deeper air cleaner assembly with integrated velocity stack. Not sure how much power shes actually making, but can tell you its very strong!

3 pointsAwesome purchase Josh!!! Watch the machines on the construction sites and every once in a while you'll see a neat modification that you'll want to try at home. Like when scooping out that sandbox a row of teeth would help. Forks are handy too. You could increase the size of the tires and get them fluid filled like I did on Cinnamon Horse. That made a HUGE difference. Also add a front weight bracket to the front of the frame. I have plans to do that to Trina's 867.

2 pointsMy NET WORTH just went up !!!! Indeed the B-80 Hydros are B-100 Models. Maybe I can retire sooner now... you guys know too much (but I am richer for it ) Mike B
-
2 pointsThanks Bob, that is a great looking meal. But no matter how great it tastes, I would never say it is better than Mrs. Ks. I'm way too old to look for a new cook.

2 pointsYeah it's scary how useless we are becoming. I have taught all three of my daughter's to be hands on with tools as told them any future husband are bound to be a waste of time in that department. Designed and built our first family home by the time I was 28. Just quit my job at sea, turned up on an empty plot with a three month old baby, a bag of tools and several containers of wood. Had no idea, but we made a beautiful house for a fraction of the price it would have cost if a builder had done it. Only took six months, and that was while looking after a baby as my wife kept on working - I had a baby monitor on my tool pouch and used to just climb down from the scaffolding to feed her as required. Great fun, and you don't need to be trained - just don't be afraid of anything 😊 Photos are of an exact scale model I built years later when bored - Shame I don't have any of the house or the model with the roof on.
-
2 pointsThese are some good ideas but I thought I was the only one @ebinmaine eric that used the word Schmutz!! Got to make it match the new paint so it Has to be clean!
-
2 pointsAll of the Wheel Horse manual transmissions are the same ratio...high range for the 6 & 8 speeds and the 3 & 4 speeds. Nice horses.
-
2 pointsPicked the frame and swinging arm up from the powder coaters this morning. Well pleased with them. Wheel hubs and spokes got cleaned up Wednesday and finished Thursday. Really time consuming. The remaining paint on the hubs had to be carefully chipped and scraped off. The spokes rubbed down with emery cloth. Hubs got a first coat of paint this afternoon. Brush painted with one of Carols 3/4" wide artists brushes. Next week I start the hunt for parts.

2 points@oliver2-44 I marked where the highest point of the top ring stops at TDC and cut the reliefs down to just above that point. Left a sharp edge into cylinder on the intake side to help keep the fuel broken up, and rolled smoothe on exhaust side. Hard to see in pic but the intake side is 'humped' similar to the red line. The intake port was slightly 'squared off' similar to the red line in pic 2, and I lowered the floor where the carb bolts up, raised the roof where the short turn is, basically putting the port somewhat on an angle. (blue marks) The port itself was no opened up much, just blended. Same on the exhaust side. Intake port was left rough, exhaust port somewhat polished.

2 pointsHard week is closed to finish. Mom is now back at home after she‘s falling unusual and cracked 3 whirls in the Back.. Did some administrative visits. The day‘s get shorter and shorter every Day it seems Winter is comeing fast here. While it‘s the first sunny Day since weeks of Rain i Stolen this day few hour‘s i like to have for my Horse. I mow the whole the yard than i wanna know why the Lightcoil‘s don’t work. I don‘t believe of the 520nm the seller offered on that cheap impact wrench, but it is still powerful. tried it on my Car‘s tyres - no problem open the Nuts, even on Kati‘s Tyres it works pretty well, enough for my needs. Than i started the closer investigation, why the light Coil wont just spit 0,3V. therefore i dismounted the front enginecover, than i use the new Impact wrench and opened the Flywheelnut. frrrr open - whow nice in less than 2 seconds. to pop off the flywheel i use a flat Steel and push and press the flywheel over the play outside. 2 lightly Hammerhits and Tadaaaa Flywheel is away. - cool 😎 That little Powertool saves a lot of Time and it is worth it‘s Price definitely. than i see clearly what‘s happen with the charging Coils. They done by a short or maybe by an overload, however. ok here the best times are gone, they must be reworked if i like to use the Teccy as an Charger also to chage a Battery and have light on it. Think i order few meters copperwire and rewire them simply, not the first time i did that. That‘s not a too hard issue, perfect job for a rainy Sunday. after rewinding bring them up and glue them in Place. One coil falls appart.. that coil is definiteley trash. but the other slides right off. completely in one piece. That make it much easier to rework externally without the Baseplate and the engine can be stay in Tractor in that Time. After that i again redrilled the Hood holes from 2mm to 2,5mm and inserted 2 new Splint‘s Much better. At least i brushed the Exhaust with a steelbrush and painted it with high temp Color in black. the stainless muffler will be kept as it is. Thinkering to remove that muffler again an bring back the Chromestack. i love the look and the sound, this one is maybe a bit more silent, but it sounds to nothing. Now i have to stop my Work, because i must Visit Kati in Hospital, she had a knee Surgery and get a new Knee. Keep on Rockin

2 pointsI can find all of the manual except nothing that shows the lift mechanism for the tiller, I can find diagrams for electric lift but not manual. Thanks everyone for helping.
-
2 pointsIm with @WHX24!! The downside to a vertical shaft engine/tractor is they just arent as desirable or built as tough as the horizontal shaft machines. The UP side is, vertical shaft engines are a dime a dozen on marketplace, craigslist, etc... Stick a big vertical shaft twin in it, swap some pulleys, and make a fun trail toy out of it! You would be amazed at what a tractor/lawnmower is capable of and just how much abuse they will take- even the lighter duty ones!
