15 pointsYesterdays accomplishments. Finished the footrests and proceeded to put things back together and go for a test ride complete with marine grade carpet seat. Those twin Kohlers have a sound of their own.
-
14 pointsDid a new throttle for the WH bike, new starter belt, fixed the choke cable connection, carb clean and she fired right up. Looking forward to the M&G up in Maine.

9 pointsPicked this old tank up the other night.. just had gone on lunch at work, and checked Marketplace on the phone.. 3 buildings up the street, this little Cub was posted.. Fellow had owned it and a slightly newer model for many years, they had been sitting better than 20+ and had not been touched. He was moving and they had to go.. price was very reasonable. Grabbed this '65 102, the deck, and the plow. Original weights too. And a bunch of paperwork.. Did not touch the carb, points, etc.. simply added gas and jumped it.. fired right off. No reason in even touching any of it.. runs better than some of my other engines which have a LOT more time in them All I had to do was free up the drive clutch. Off we go.. generator charges and the ancient battery somehow will take a charge still. Torn between just moving it along, or keeping it and giving it a makeover.. dont mind the old paint on the hood, but all the yellow has been poorly resprayed and now makes a gaudy 2-tone look. Original Ohio Rubber seat somehow survived quite well. Quite a strange experience to sit in.. just doesnt feel 'normal'. But yeah, here she be!

7 pointsStill have a small list of items to take care of on the 420 but those may have to wait until spring, time to have some fun with it. The grassy area behind the tractor is where we line up the WH's for the Meet. Started cleaning up the footrests on the 418-A, will recycle the footrest pads from the 420 and install them on the 418. Not sure if those will get done by the 12 th for the Meet, will trail ride it without them anyway. Patti and I did get the Porch/ Addition ready for the food area and beverages. Nice area in case the weather changes, a place to stay dry and have lunch etc.

6 pointsI ordered a pair of headlight bezels from a vendor that advertises here for my 414-8 and installed them today. I also repainted the black on the hood with Rustoleum gloss black. I replaced the hood shaft with bolts and plastic washers to firm it up and stop the rattles. I cut the washers from a plastic oil can and they work great. I try to take care of this Horse and it is a super dependable machine.

6 pointsLast day on Dunc's carport for now. It's now got both sides and cable end clad. Bit of trimming on the gable end and barge board to fit, but Dunc will do that. Dunc's C-125 got put to work hauling sand up to the yard, for the men doing the paving between house and yard. I can have a rest now till sometime next week.

6 pointsThese caught my eye big time. I never knew or even heard of these before. They are pre snapper brand. These are called snappin turtles. They even had turtle heads on the front of theme. One was a rider. I thought these were super cool. I will own one some day! 2 of them had Wisconsins and 1 had a briggs. they were original to the mower. The guy i talked to knew all about these his name was Leroy.

5 pointsUmm, the plan was to let you ride it way out on the trail but ya caught me, again. Guess I'll have to fill'er up and tighten the plug now. Maybe next time
-
5 pointsUmm...John, I didn’t read that you gassed it up ...I know how all your stuff seems to be running on fumes @wallfish

5 pointsHere's an old video and pic taken for LaGT magazine. Bunch of pics in the big show threads and did a build thread when it was made. Use the search feature and type "tractor Bike". Should show some more.

5 pointsEuGot home from work, then worked all night before a quiet day on Thursday recovering from having 5 hours sleep in the previous 48 hours! Friday we loaded the ramps into the van and headed south to England and my latest acquisition. It was located on a lovely little smallholding not far from the village of Longridge. Loaded it in the van then headed home 😊 Want a bad run, only seven hours in total, almost the shortest trip I have ever done for a wheelhorse! Got it home and took some photographs before calling it a day. In the morning I couldn't get it to start! Must be one of the safety switches as there is nothing happening when you turn the key, all the idiot lights work and battery fully charged but it did nothing. Haven't had time to go back for an investigation and I'm sure it's something simple, just annoying as I had plans to throw the plow on and clear the drive - instead I have been relegated to weeding the garden!

4 pointsIf theyre straight through, stuff/wrap with fiberglass. More holes would help if you go that route. Like @Achto said a plug in the middle will help a lot, but (obviously) dont do fiberglass if you use a plug, the exhaust gases need to pass through those holes, then back around on the opposite side. Thanks @ebinmaine for tagging me in this- I have the Tractor Supply FO-4 (or FO-3, cant remember) on my 1277 and am in the same boat right now trying to tone it down. It has the plug in the center. Its actually pretty mellow, but with the 1277 being hydro and slinging a 42" deck, its under constant load and barks too much for the ears. Just ordered a Gravely style muffler and plan to extend a stack on it, and will stuff the stack if its still too loud.

4 pointsGot it going, the clutch needed to be pushed in really hard to get it to go. That Onan sounds beautiful! It just purrs 😁😁 The machine is in great condition @WHX24 there is a bit of surface rust on the paint and a dent in the front but nothing I can't live with. It's a bit late now but will throw the snow plow on tomorrow and see how it goes - the extra power will be nice, but the fact is so quiet will be even nicer. Top speed is a bit slow, but it's comparable to most of my C-125's except the last one I brought which seems to go crazy fast compared to everything else. Anyway, very very happy with this purchase, now to get the last attachments and get the rest of the herd all looking pretty.

4 pointsSince "long hood, round fender custom with a hopped up K321" is kinda a long name, I have decided to call this one simply- "HOSS", and believe me, it is. Hoss got a different pair of spindles since the front tires always looked kinda "toe'd in and cambered out", apparently they were bent. Also got a correct clutch spring- aint no slippin' now! "Lawn duty" 1277 got another experimental baffle which helped tremendously, til I put it under a load. More on that in the 'exhaust, lets hear em' thread. Hoss came home with me for the week to do some neighborhood cruising and try to get some hours on that engine before it gets completely uncorked.

3 pointsGot this piece of wood from our CNC company at work. Lots of little and I mean little bowls . Not sure of the species but it ought to be interesting
-
3 pointsYep, I have a 126 (3rd lowest production model) still bouncing the idea of keeping and restoring or passing along the decision never gets any easier no matter the brand...
-
3 pointsNice save ! From here the patina is looking sweet but not as sweet as those wheel weights! Poorly sprayed is character in my book. I think Dan @Achto has got that same seat on his diesel only in the very rare black Dan??? I think it's ungly but dang nice on the butt under a sprung support .

3 pointsA picture of the barn at my FIL’s place... @Greentored I figured you’d like to see this!
-
3 pointsShouldn’t move side to side... does move up and down about an inch... Are you missing the 1” spacer on one side of the pin?
-
3 pointsWe were sporting US flags last year at the Big Show, on all 4 of our runners. After determining that Frank was difficult to drive having it attached to the motion control, we settled for the Stars and Stripes on the hood
-
3 pointsHere is some pictures of a stack that I made for my plow tractor. I cut almost all the way through the baffle, welded my stopper plate in, then inserted the baffle in to the stack. It is still a little load but bearable. Your outside housing has a larger o.d. so you will have more room for resonation to suppress noise. I don't think that you will need to add holes.
-
3 points1)Spray carb cleaner around throttle and the gasket areas with the engine running. If it changes rpm when you spray then it's sucking air where it shouldn't. 2)Remove the float and shake it to see if there's a pinhole and gas inside if it. 3)You can change the carb to a Kohler type Carter N or Walbro.
-
3 pointsWrapping the baffle tube with fiber glass would help some. A stopper plug/plate 1/2 way up the baffle tube may do more to quiet it down. This would force the exhaust out into the outer chamber then it would return to the inside of the baffle tube to exit. If you choose to try this method do not wrap the baffle tube with fiber glass.

3 pointsLeft side part is a mid tach-a-matic, right is part of a front tach-a-matic, both 1972 and later. Bottom is unknown to me,

3 pointsOh lord no.... and wreck that patina!?!?!? I figured it would stand out against shiny new red!
-
3 pointsIt was probably an old 15 mm... nothing to possibly use it on a WH other than hold a snubber in place!
-
3 pointsBoth sets of wheel weights are very different than what we have in the States, and are rare in any country. They don't sell cheap. Seems like you have enough interest from collectors in the UK, that you might get some help getting the tractor out of the yard. The deck is easy to remove. The remainder of the job is more complicated. Whatever you do, don't send it to the junk yard. An ambitious collector can revive it (with a fair amount of work). Good luck. Jim

3 pointsHi I have measured the gap in the gate and it is 31 inches. I would need to take off the gate posts to increase this to 36 inches. I have also taken a couple of photos of the rear of the tractor to show the name on the wheels. Thanks for all your replies so far.

3 pointsGet a hand held voltmeter and double check. Those dash voltmeters are horribly inaccurate.

3 pointsHad a belt noise on the Raider 10. Turns out the guard slid down a little bit and was rubbing on the top of the belt between engine and clutch pulley. Fortunately, it didn't hurt the new belt too bad...just a little bit of fraying on the seams. While I had the horse in the stable, I decided to swap seats. The old one had studs in the bottom and cups to keep it raised off the fender. Replacement didn't, so I added a couple washers to maintain clearance. Don't want anything trapped in there! I was skeptical reading that IH red was a good match for us, but I think it turned out pretty good.

2 pointsI also keep the “United We Stand” RedSquare theme active at all times...

2 pointsIt's been a while since I've been here. My 857 just keeps humming a long. But a while ago I picked up some parts, thinking they would fit my machine but no. so here are some pics they seem to be NOS. I'm sure one of you would love to have them and I would have a little more shelf space.
-
2 pointsThat's kinda what my missus said last time I brought a tractor home without her permission!

2 pointsI don't have a parts list. When I talked to him on the phone I gave him the model number that I had and he knew right away the kit that I needed. My pump and all was a 90 -2046. here's a pic of what came in the kit.

2 pointsBack over the border to do more cladding. First though a pile of dirt to move from the yard. While Dunc got the tractor and trailer, I drove the digger up to the yard. Never operated a digger since I sold mine about 15yrs ago. 1-1/2 loads and the yard was cleared and levelled. Took the digger back down to the soon to be main workshop, then trailer was loaded with boards and taken up to the carport. Third bay was finished by lunch time. Photo' was taken before we started. After lunch we started on the back gable end. Hopefully get that finished tomorrow and make a start on the other side. It's a grand way to spend a Bank Holiday weekend.
