Hi all, i bought this 1961 701 in fall of 2018 and restored it. I completed it in fall of 2019 and I wanted to show some pictures of before during and after I got it done. I did my research and tried to make this tractor as close to original as possible. The few exceptions are tires, wiring and the steering support. Not a perfect tractor but sure is nice enough for me. all stainless hardware Rustolium stops rust Primer Rustolium Regal Red enamel paint powder coated wheels and seat Glenn Pettit Reproduction dash

Tried today another Muffler to listen the Sound. the old one begin to rotten by rust, and it was a bit louder because of that, i ordered the same as spare, but until it‘s here i decide to try the Crome one, how it Sounds. A mellow tone is heared and it‘s not too loud, i love that Sound and decide it keeps on. definitely more silent as the first one wich was on. than i changed the Deck wheels with new ones. i found much cooler ones, but they actually can not be delivered so i decide to pick this cheaps to keep the Deck where it should be. Tried all while mow once arround the house for a testride. using a magenta Rust stopper for a try from our company, to see how this will work until resto.

Finally snuck a couple ‘decompress’ days off, the stable is rockin. Fixed the charging system on the K321 torque monster custom, and doing some PBR quality control. What’s on everyone’s plate this evening?

So I usually don't ask anyone for anything, but this group, like no other, has been a rock to so many people. It all started for me with a little boy named Maxx Nunn who had cancer and wanted to sell his Wheel Horse to be able to buy a 4-wheeler. RedSquare responded and helped him and his family until his sad passing at age 7. Then when my first grandson had to undergo open-heart surgery at age 9, you all came through for him with much love and well-wishes. He is doing fine now at age 16. When I had to have spinal fusion surgery back in 2015, again RedSquare supported me. Now, unfortunately, I am asking for my wife. Many of you who attend the Big Show refer to her as Mrs. M and are familiar with her chocolate-chip cookie bars. Well, Theresa (Mrs. M) is scheduled for spinal fusion surgery on August 24. She is in tremendous pain from a large benign arthritic cyst at the L4 level, as well as some other disk issues, and can barely move at times. The date of August 24 was booked back in June, as it was the first available date and time due to Covid-19 set-backs keeping hospitals from performing major surgeries. Two weeks ago, she went for cardiac clearance and the doctor said her tests were not normal, so she is scheduled for a cardiac catheterization this Friday. If nothing major is found, the 24th surgery can proceed, however if something else more serious is found, it could delay the back surgery for months. This would be horrific. So with this in mind, I am humbly asking that my fellow brothers and sisters here on RedSquare keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I will update this thread as warranted. Thank you!

Cleaning out the old shop, garage and basement and filled 2 30 yard dumpsters within the past 3 years and found some items. Has anyone else heard of this Arco graphite oil ? I remember trying this out because a friend of mine his Father owned an Arco service station and wanted me to try out this oil, this was around 1977 -8. I had been using Kendall 20-50 in the 396 Chevelle and was happy with it but he talked me into it. I had added Stewart- Warner oil and temp gauges and when I used that oil my pressure dropped from 50- 60 psi to-around 20 psi, back home drained it and back to the 20 - 50 kendall and pressures where back to normal. Does anyone have a logical answer to this one . The second photo is a set of Snap On test gauges that my uncle gave to me when I was around 17 or 18. Also found some chevelle parts that I just could not put in that dumpster. 3rd pic is my spare tire and rim for the Chevelle a bias ply Gillette Sprint. Changed those over to BF Goodrich radial T/A with Cragar SS rims. The SS did not have power steering and with those bias ply tires it steered hard and with the addition of Radials it felt like it had power steering. My brother in law who now owns the SS has added power steering among numerous other upgrades.

Hi all, this is a early 1956 rj-35 I picked up and named Ol’ Crusty. I thought I’d share a picture timeline of things I’ve done on it since I’ve gotten it. The reason I say early 1956 is because it has a C channel frame like the 55’s with 55 style hub backing plates and some 1955 features but has a 1956 hood with small kill switch hole. the tractor has been cleaned and clear coated. Also wheels were stripped and painted original black. i believe this tractor was a local government owned tractor for mowing around a township building or something since it had many payers of the typical yellow paint you see on Govt owned equipment. reproduction aluminum steering wheel reproduction belt guard restored k90 added electric starter

Cut and drilled a 1/2” sheet of UHMW PE to make a wear bar, and installed with stainless hardware. Drilling the holes was the first official job of my 50’s craftsman drill press. The next job will probably be drilling larger 3/4” holes in the mulching blades for the RD 42” deck.

Don't feel too awful bad about your cat, dog. My parents have one that looks a lot more like a RAT than a canine. They carry that thing everywhere. It has its own dog/ baby carriage. Luggage. Your buddy @JCM Plunge has probably seen it...

Seat on the Raider 10 was a little worn so I got a new one from one of our vertical cousins being parted out. Back was a little rusty, so I took it apart, cleaned it up, added some red paint, and it's ready for an install!

Did a few more things to the 418 and the 420 today. On the 418 removed the engine tins and used compressed air to clean the cylinder heads and surrounding areas. Removed many fasteners and never-siezed the threads to make future maintenance easier. Also painted the engine chaff screen and reinstalled. I was hoping to use this seat that I bought about 6 years ago at a JD Dealer for $ 40.00 for the 418 that they ordered for someone and they never picked it up but the bolt pattern will only fit my 312 and C-120 but not the 418 or 417. On the 420 primed the tunnel and will paint that black and then reinstall all the motion control linkages and lever. Getting closer to finishing up everything for the Meet & Greet next month.

Charlie laying by my leg and Bentley on my lap. We've had Charlie since he was 6 weeks old and Bentley was a rescue we got about 2 years ago. Bentley would always try to bite me if I got near my wife for the first year now he thinks I'm his bed. Both of them will turn their head when we try to get a picture.

I would just mention, since you just got it, make sure the fins on the engine are clean, the tins are all there and clean underneath them (mouse nests), and under the shroud and fly wheel are clean of debris also.

That there is a RARE tractor. Production numbers have never been released. Some say as little as 200 or 300 of those were ever made. You have a Tecumseh engine. Most were built with Kohler engines. If you'd like to get that up and running correctly so that you can use it then the folks on this website would be more than happy to help you out. Mechanically inclined or not, you could do it. @Docwheelhorse and @Stepney Check this one out.

Yes I try to go to Florida every year and may be able next year. I have had two Lawn Rangers in my stable. Both 1967's. I sold one to Denny Clarke several years ago and I just sold my favorite one two months ago for $750. It was a very nice Lawn Ranger. Both of mine had original type motors and both were electric start Tecumseh's. I took an 856 to Clay Brooks in Georgia last year on the way to Florida and also Lawn Sweeper to one Red Square member in Mobile, Alabama last year on the way to Rodney Burger;s in Lorida, Florida (and I took Rodney a 753 from West Virginia)! So I might be able to be a conduit for a Lawn Ranger !

Dear Lord, Theresa Maynard will be undergoing delicate heart surgery soon. Please guide the surgeon's hands to be steady and effective to do the task at hand, and not create any further damage We pray against any infection or complications. Calm the heart of her husband Bob and their family. Give Theresa your peace so her body can heal under the best conditions. In the name of Jesus, bless her to be healthier after this procedure than before. Lord allow this temporary trial to bring this family closer to you and each other. When she is coming out of surgery, let the side effects be minimal. Work a miracle in this whole situation and bless it from beginning to end. Thank you Lord for your blessing on this family. We praise you as we know we are in good hands- the very hands of God. In Jesus name, we thank you for each day. Amen.

Got back today. Had a great time with Carols sister and family. We were made very welcome by one and all. It was good to see the joy in the sisters faces. New BiL and I got on grand. He showed me round the farm and their collection of vintage tractors in various stages of restoration. Being in old farm buildings made it difficult to take decent photo's but I'll put what I took elsewhere. I did come home with another project. Just fitted in the back of the car. SWM 125cc trials motorcycle. 1981-82. In need of a LOT of T.L.C. Photo is after pressure washing off 20yrs of grime from being in the back of a shed. Going to take a lot of time and work. Engine turns over but no spark. Hopefully I can still find parts.
