10 pointsWhen Carol, my better half, was not much more than a year old, her mother gave birth to another baby girl. Due to circumstances beyond Carols mothers control, the baby girl was adopted. A few weeks ago, one of the adopted sister's son's, after years of searching, located Carol and got in contact. After some e-mails and phone calls, we have been invited down to meet up with the extended family Carol didn't know she had. Come Monday morning taking Carol down to South Wales, to the farm where they live. Could be an interesting and emotional couple of days.

8 pointsMy son-in-law just bought this 4-wheel cart. It has a hydraulic dump, wooden sides, and measures 40" x 72". Anybody have any idea if who the manufacturer is.

7 pointsSpent some time “At sea” last night... About 5 miles offshore, in 180 ft of water. We went 6 for 6! The 27.2 pounder hooked on 140 feet of line and ran out to 645 and held for a good 30 minutes before I could make any good progress.

5 pointsWell. I been asking for a chance to pull my new tractors. It's here... Wayy fast. I'm not ready.lol It's the 15th. I need to put a fresh belt on the horse. Change oil. Order and replace plugs. Fix/replace the kill switch. And add a personal touch of paint. I guess since I haven't named it,I'll call it the Wheelhorse. Noone else has one around here for pulling. I knocked out the battery, battery box, fuel tank, fuel pump, lines. Battery cables. The hello kitty needs a dang paint job. But definitely needs a fresh belt and .oil change.
-
5 pointsChange the oil. Better safe than sorry. It's 10 mins you won't regret spending.

5 pointsearlier this summer pulled an Alberta spruce out of the ground with the 416 - this evening pulled a rhododendron out with the 312

4 pointsHoooooooney, i go Shopping .... - for the Hooooorrseee .😇😎 Ok, there existing sentences you better keep to yourself.. 😂 Jump shortly to a Hardwarestore, to find some needed Things. Firstly to fix loosened drain oil Screw i organized few Fittings 3/8“ identical ones, as i used on my 212. ok a Galvanized will maybe work also, but i must have a bit of Crome somewhere on my Machines. like a good old statement „ you only can Trust it with Chrome and Flames“, i like it... some fresh Oil for a First refilling here of the Whole Horse I don‘t know something about rotella as some here mentioned, here at my side i prefer Liqui Moly Oils with best experiences over decades. 5W30 for the tecky shall be fine, i hope he like it and 2 Bottles with 85W 90 gearoil for the Unidrive. If i be correct the Unidrive must have 1quart in that‘s close 1Litre. 0,9 Litre to be exact. i think it would die with one Liter in the Tranny 2 Bottles of Brake cleaner to remove some old Grease and oil spills. than while im lurking arround what they have arround Colors a red blitzen into my Eye i do immediately a stop and found that Beautiful Rubin Red and i decided to choose the Color combination, i will use for her new Finish. Rubin Red ( RAL3003). Deepblack (RAL9005) and a bright grey close to whilte( no RAL) i searching arround the Whole Colorpallette they have and love that Combination i put firstly on the Side. In my Mind i can see the Result, and i think it looks beautiful.

4 pointsA super nice, minty fresh set of new old stock. Certainly something you don't see everyday!

4 pointsI never used one on a WH, but I did use a winch to raise and lower the plow on a 4 wheeler. You do need a spring to handle the winch overrun when the plow frame hits the tractor frame. And I know this how? Don't ask.
-
4 pointsWhat do you want to use it for. The only PTO driven attachments from WH were the 60" finish mower (actually made by Woods) and the 50 inch roto tiller. Because of the high PTO speed most driven implements from other companies will not work. The 3 pt is a Cat Zero and stuff like York rakes are available. Other attachment snow plow snow blower mid mount blade are sort of unique to the D series as the frame is wider than regular horses.... Does the D160 already have a rear PTO and 3pt?? if not you will about double the purchase price by the time you get them installed.

4 pointsespecially if this is a pressure fed oiler motor with a filter. If if goes beyond 100 hrs then change it regardless. Won't kill the SIL to be without power for the 10 min it takes. Just a safety reminder fellas make sure you are not back feeding street power. Linemens lives matter too!
-
4 pointsCongratulations Stefan!!!! Glad everything made it and Kevin @pullstart did all that work and a great job to get it there! Thought you might enjoy a couple of the WHCC show shirts since you couldn't come this year. Hope to see you wearing one in person next year!

3 pointsI confirm...Short fins go down. Here is a pic. BEFORE you bolt up the hyd pump, make CERTAIN that the Charge Pump Housing is properly oriented. See 2nd pic. Get some assembly lube in there too. I used RED lube...

3 pointsThat's awesome 😊 The same thing happened to my mum before she had all of us. I met my oldest brother for the first time when I was 18 after he had spent years trying to find Mum. Quite emotional, and amazing at the same time. We all get on as if we had grown up together, have the same likes and hobbies. Good luck and enjoy the experience ☺️

3 pointsKeep on trucking and change it after the crisis or when it's getting dark. Consider what goes into a recommendation to change oil. The hardest thing that can happen to oil is running the engine and then letting it sit. That's when moisture, acids, and other junk build up. As long as the engine is running and it stays hot, that isn't happening.
-
3 pointsNo all D series are Cat 0 with a high speed PTO. I have not seen a bush hog for it. I have the 60" finish mower. FEL is from WH but made by Arc For 500 with 3pt and PTO I would buy it. Even if the hydro is shot you could get almost that back selling the 3pt and PTO.

3 pointsSpray the outside with truck bed liner when the cracks get filled. I used that on a set I had that were used heavily for years. Works great!
-
3 pointsDo you have a picture of what you're doing? There should be a spring at the end of the cable so that it takes up slack when the plow stops and the cable won't break.
-
3 pointsHere is a copy of the page covering neutral creep adjustment:
-
3 pointsOwners manual says once per year or 60 hrs... im just playing devils advocate with the thought of 60 hrs straight isnt as hard on the oil as 60 hrs off and on over a year. Also no dust / dirt like cutting grass. Ill end up changing because im not cheap. Just wanted to start a conversation and get some thoughts

3 pointsThe 'Brakng system' is the left fott pedal. Depressing the pedal brings the shift control linkage to NEUTRAL...effectively stopping tractor motion. I have a 75 C-160 Auto and it will stop on a hill, then back up the hill if wanted...no problem. Probably the most detrimental use of the hydro system is to pull UP on the Parking Brake (engagement lever) when in motion.... i.e., the proverbial 'Panic Stop'. Doing so grinds the Parking Pawl and gears inside the gearbox and filings work their way into the fluid that gets pumped thru the system....destroying sofr brass parts along the way. Accordingly, NEVER...NOT EVER... pull up on the parking brake when in motion.

3 pointsLike the shirts, even the other Gifts John. Thanks again. There must be something horrible to stop me next year to come to the Show. Would see ya Fellas all face to face, have a talk and maybe one or two Adult beverages.. 😇😎🇺🇸

2 pointsWell I picked up a new belt for the snow blower. After spending a couple hours rolling around the ground trying to install the belt that I got with the tractor. Turns out that belt was for something else and was a few inches to short. Looked it up and went to Tractor Supply and bought the right size. Only trouble I am having with it is that the auger still spins a little bit when its disengaged. I really like this tractor, runs terrific. Soon as you turn the key its running. Almost like you turn a switch on an electric motor. Instant start. Curious again how it will be in the winter. Debating if I should keep it. If it had a deck I would keep it for sure. I already have a nice walk behind snow blower... 11hp Husqvarna. Check out the rear weights on this thing. It dosnt look like much but that is soild steel. H E A V Y !
-
2 pointsJust a little fuzzy but it might help. I probably should've taken pictures before I tore everything apart . Duh ! starting to put in all the O-rings seals gaskets and such and get a little paint on it. I don't plan on painting the Pump housing. I like the aluminum look plus paint might hold in heat Thanx Eric!

2 pointsThe ugly green one is a salty beast. It was my late dads he never used it. I do. It also is a great machine they make all sorts of stuff for it to. Its my Cadillac mower I tell everyone. LOL I like them all. My late dad was a huge deere guy. But he loved the horses to. and so do I. You should get that d-160. I love mine I am going to keep mine and add stuff to it. Very impressive machine in my opinion. Even my lady like the D. LOL

2 pointsAppears to be some kind of concrete from mine that are cracked open.
-
2 pointsWhen in doubt, change it out. Overmaintenance might waste money, but in the case of our 'little' machines, its not gonna hurt the wallet THAT bad. Now, overmaintaining a V8 with full synthetic and 12.00 a piece spark plugs is a different story haha......
-
2 pointsI'm also in CT, and still have no power. I've only run my generator in the evening and in the morning (before and after work). I'm going to change mine after the storm, but I haven't run mine as much as yours. I have a 5,000/6,250 watt HomeLite with a Subaru engine on it. Bought it off craigslist a few years back for cheap since it was off-season. In your case, if you have the chance, I'd change it. Who knows when we will get our power back.

2 points@daveoman1966 thanks for the info and tip! My concern stemmed primarily from my experience pushing the brake pedal on level ground, it “feels” like there’s no resistance on the pedal and that the speed lever just quickly goes to neutral and continues to creep (I know that I need to adjust this). So I just don’t feel confident that it would “slow” me down a hill like a traditional braking system. In your experience, when going downhill and hitting the brake, is it a “proportional” braking (I.e. a little pressure applied results in a little slowing) or does it just snap to a neutral position and feel like it’s “locked-up”?Maybe I’ll find a more shallow hill to try the first time and see how it goes. Anyhow, I appreciate the explanation!
-
2 pointsUnless the main belt comes unlaced and tries to destroy everything around it. That was a scary sound I won’t soon forget!
-
2 pointsMust be luck.. Ive never shut the gas off on a rear tank, and both my 312 and GT '1448' mutt always fire up instantly no matter how long they've sat.

2 pointsI been looking for a reason to get a detached garage. Maybe this is it 😚 jhn9840 John

2 pointsLol... did I mention I love pork rinds! My wife used to chide me about eating them. Now she's hooked on them and buys 3 -4 bags at a time! Keep up the good work Dan we'll be thinking of you when we are filling up on @Achto's smoked pulled pork on plough day!
