When Carol, my better half, was not much more than a year old, her mother gave birth to another baby girl. Due to circumstances beyond Carols mothers control, the baby girl was adopted. A few weeks ago, one of the adopted sister's son's, after years of searching, located Carol and got in contact. After some e-mails and phone calls, we have been invited down to meet up with the extended family Carol didn't know she had. Come Monday morning taking Carol down to South Wales, to the farm where they live. Could be an interesting and emotional couple of days.

My son-in-law just bought this 4-wheel cart. It has a hydraulic dump, wooden sides, and measures 40" x 72". Anybody have any idea if who the manufacturer is.

Spent some time โ€œAt seaโ€ last night... About 5 miles offshore, in 180 ft of water. We went 6 for 6! The 27.2 pounder hooked on 140 feet of line and ran out to 645 and held for a good 30 minutes before I could make any good progress.

Well. I been asking for a chance to pull my new tractors. It's here... Wayy fast. I'm not ready.lol It's the 15th. I need to put a fresh belt on the horse. Change oil. Order and replace plugs. Fix/replace the kill switch. And add a personal touch of paint. I guess since I haven't named it,I'll call it the Wheelhorse. Noone else has one around here for pulling. I knocked out the battery, battery box, fuel tank, fuel pump, lines. Battery cables. The hello kitty needs a dang paint job. But definitely needs a fresh belt and .oil change.

Change the oil. Better safe than sorry. It's 10 mins you won't regret spending.

Hoooooooney, i go Shopping .... - for the Hooooorrseee .๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜Ž Ok, there existing sentences you better keep to yourself.. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Jump shortly to a Hardwarestore, to find some needed Things. Firstly to fix loosened drain oil Screw i organized few Fittings 3/8โ€œ identical ones, as i used on my 212. ok a Galvanized will maybe work also, but i must have a bit of Crome somewhere on my Machines. like a good old statement โ€ž you only can Trust it with Chrome and Flamesโ€œ, i like it... some fresh Oil for a First refilling here of the Whole Horse I donโ€˜t know something about rotella as some here mentioned, here at my side i prefer Liqui Moly Oils with best experiences over decades. 5W30 for the tecky shall be fine, i hope he like it and 2 Bottles with 85W 90 gearoil for the Unidrive. If i be correct the Unidrive must have 1quart in thatโ€˜s close 1Litre. 0,9 Litre to be exact. i think it would die with one Liter in the Tranny 2 Bottles of Brake cleaner to remove some old Grease and oil spills. than while im lurking arround what they have arround Colors a red blitzen into my Eye i do immediately a stop and found that Beautiful Rubin Red and i decided to choose the Color combination, i will use for her new Finish. A super nice, minty fresh set of new old stock. Certainly something you don't see everyday!

I never used one on a WH, but I did use a winch to raise and lower the plow on a 4 wheeler. You do need a spring to handle the winch overrun when the plow frame hits the tractor frame. And I know this how? Don't ask.
  13. 4 points
What do you want to use it for. The only PTO driven attachments from WH were the 60" finish mower (actually made by Woods) and the 50 inch roto tiller. Because of the high PTO speed most driven implements from other companies will not work. The 3 pt is a Cat Zero and stuff like York rakes are available. Other attachment snow plow snow blower mid mount blade are sort of unique to the D series as the frame is wider than regular horses.... Does the D160 already have a rear PTO and 3pt?? if not you will about double the purchase price by the time you get them installed.

especially if this is a pressure fed oiler motor with a filter. If if goes beyond 100 hrs then change it regardless. Won't kill the SIL to be without power for the 10 min it takes. Just a safety reminder fellas make sure you are not back feeding street power. Linemens lives matter too!

Congratulations Stefan!!!! Glad everything made it and Kevin @pullstart did all that work and a great job to get it there! Thought you might enjoy a couple of the WHCC show shirts since you couldn't come this year. Hope to see you wearing one in person next year!

That's awesome ๐Ÿ˜Š The same thing happened to my mum before she had all of us. I met my oldest brother for the first time when I was 18 after he had spent years trying to find Mum. Quite emotional, and amazing at the same time. We all get on as if we had grown up together, have the same likes and hobbies. Good luck and enjoy the experience โ˜บ๏ธ

Keep on trucking and change it after the crisis or when it's getting dark. Consider what goes into a recommendation to change oil. The hardest thing that can happen to oil is running the engine and then letting it sit. That's when moisture, acids, and other junk build up. As long as the engine is running and it stays hot, that isn't happening.

No all D series are Cat 0 with a high speed PTO. I have not seen a bush hog for it. I have the 60" finish mower. FEL is from WH but made by Arc For 500 with 3pt and PTO I would buy it. Even if the hydro is shot you could get almost that back selling the 3pt and PTO.

Spray the outside with truck bed liner when the cracks get filled. I used that on a set I had that were used heavily for years. Works great!

Do you have a picture of what you're doing? There should be a spring at the end of the cable so that it takes up slack when the plow stops and the cable won't break.

Owners manual says once per year or 60 hrs... im just playing devils advocate with the thought of 60 hrs straight isnt as hard on the oil as 60 hrs off and on over a year. Also no dust / dirt like cutting grass. Ill end up changing because im not cheap. Just wanted to start a conversation and get some thoughts

The 'Brakng system' is the left fott pedal. Depressing the pedal brings the shift control linkage to NEUTRAL...effectively stopping tractor motion. I have a 75 C-160 Auto and it will stop on a hill, then back up the hill if wanted...no problem. Probably the most detrimental use of the hydro system is to pull UP on the Parking Brake (engagement lever) when in motion.... i.e., the proverbial 'Panic Stop'. Doing so grinds the Parking Pawl and gears inside the gearbox and filings work their way into the fluid that gets pumped thru the system....destroying sofr brass parts along the way. Accordingly, NEVER...NOT EVER... pull up on the parking brake when in motion.

Clearly joy on the face of a man @Tractorhead that got a new WH tractor.

I know this has been asked before but maybe not quite like this. I need a tractor with a 3pt and pto. Wondering what everyones opinions are on the matter as far as The best WH with a PTO ( i think there was a C-195 black hood w/ pto as well). Best in terms of power, versatility, easy to find parts for, reliability and most attachments which brings me to my next question. What attachments will fit a WH D series? only WH attachments? I know most attachments that dont use 3pt and PTO are unique to WH but what about attachments for the PTO and 3pt? Last, I have an opportunity to pick up a D160 with no attachments for $500. Not a bad price around here. It does not run but will turn over. I'm told it ran a few weeks ago but not since so its a gamble but it seems the d160 is popular when it has the 16hp kohler (this one does). any thoughts? Thanks everyone!

Simple ... if you cant have a Wheel Horse .. get a Work Horse!

Another C-125 has found it's way into my herd. Although it's a 14 hour round trip, it was cheap, has an attachment I wanted and could be a spare parts machine.....although that never happens! Comes with a wheelhorse sweeper, they fetch about ยฃ70-ยฃ100 over here and I got the whole lot for ยฃ200. Should be a winner even if it never starts. My wife is so understanding, I think she enjoys the wheelhorses as much as I do.

Went to have 2 CT Scans today. Get my results next week. Year out from my cancer diagnosis, surgeries, and treatments. Guess i will see whos winning the battle so far. These scans were on my abdomen and chest. I go later for testing on my throat. I feel good but still tense.

Yes by all means thank those Lineman. Being a 41 year retired IBEW Journey Lineman I have had some bad experiences with generators on storm work! Always be careful, we want your power to come on as soon as possible but we also want to go home to our families when the work is done. Bob

Well done Dan. Can't say your not keen. I don't think the lawn sweeper is a Wheel Horse one. I may be wrong but it's not like mine. Good catch on the decks and I guess you won't need that rod now. I got a side discharge, but someone had run over it with something heavy. Shell was badly bent. Stripped all the parts off it and scrapped the shell. In hindsight I should have kept it and used it for a pattern.

It's alive, after a bit of messing about managed to get some life into the little C125. Needed new coil and condenser and using an external tank as haven't cleaned the main one yet. Will have it out workng in no time though. What an excellent afternoon! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

We have often debated moving to the US if a situation that arose where it was possible we would probably do it, have lived all around the world anyway over the years so its not such a big deal Being away from the sea would be nice, I am sick of ships, just do it because it pays the bills until something more interesting comes along - usually I spend 6 years at sea then six years ashore, been a fairly consistent life cycle so far.

I'm also in CT, and still have no power. I've only run my generator in the evening and in the morning (before and after work). I'm going to change mine after the storm, but I haven't run mine as much as yours. I have a 5,000/6,250 watt HomeLite with a Subaru engine on it. Bought it off craigslist a few years back for cheap since it was off-season. In your case, if you have the chance, I'd change it. Who knows when we will get our power back.

Congrats on the score! The Magnum 12 powered Horse should have a model number too, like 312-A or 312-8, maybe 4** series instead? Thanks for sharing your pics!

That is a very nice truck.. and I believe they are so ugly that they're cool:) I'd drive it but honestly, based off the number of 70's Dodge's I've seen vs Ford's and Chevy's. They had to have been a POS. I never see them, and when I do, they are never on the road.

And finally the fruits of our night and days labour - it doesn't look like much but that's roughly what we send away every three weeks, rain hail or shine.
