15 pointsDue to the virus our local officials canceled what supposed to be our 100th 4 of July parade here in Southampton,Long Island,NY The oldest English settlement in the state 1640! The numbers here for the virus are the lowest they have been since early March. At the last minute locals got together and said screw that it’s America’s birthday and we are having a parade! We usually have one of the largest parades in the state drawing thousands of people either as spectators or in the parade itself. I remember going as a child and have been going with my volunteer fire department for well over thirty years. Today I drove our 1958 FWD this truck was still in service when I joined, back when we rode on the tailboard to go to a fire. We had around two hundred cars, trucks, and tractors. Obviously I couldn’t take pictures of them all but I took as many as I could. Hope you guys enjoy the pictures! Happy birthday and God bless America!

12 pointsMy life...is what it is. But i remain (or try to stay) grateful. I kno i made many of the decisions/mistakes that make it so. And that's to say both Good things and Bad. Well, y'all here are part of the Good, so here i am again sharing. I inherited Her with This House. In truth, i would have been just fine just becoming Her Charge; but that too, is what is. Well yesterday Clara went to the vet for the 1st time in her life; n i thought it would be to be put down. Without details, i got Blessed again. Forget the Tractors; Forget the Money. She's my World rightnow, n im glad she's gonna be around awhile longer if i have anything to say bout it. She had a infected uterus from never having gotten fixed. I'm lucky it drained, instead of backing up; that'da killed Her. Another bill i dont need n will hafta pay, but that don't mean anything, righthere, today. 1st pic is ride home; then late lastnight, n then this morn. She seems to be still sleepy, n thats ok by me. Ive slept about 4hrs since 430am yesterday morn...bout 2ft from her, on the floor, lol Ill get all the sleep i need when im dead. Today is a good day. Thankyou all for listening n lettin me share. Y'all have a great 4th.

9 pointsA HUGE thank you to Tony @Docwheelhorse for settin' me up here. The generosity of some of our members never ceases to amaze me. This here is another 1974 C160, but with the rare Tecumseh HH/OH160 OHV engine. Made one year only. It's rough. Very much in need of a full disassembly and restoration. When it came here it was missing one tie rod and the other was broken off one end. Today I popped used tie rods on and Trina used her 867 to drag it from the drive to the shed. The engine wouldn't move. Tin was near chock full of skeletal mouseseses and their house. Cleaned that out and the engine spins freely now. So progress has been made. It'll be a good long while before we get to this one but I just couldn't turn it down considering the rarity.

8 pointsMt Cutler is a great little walk 2 hills over from our own. Today we went up the face as usual then took a new way down. Here's the track we took Part of the return trip is a mile or so on these old rail tracks. An iron culvert from days long gone by The switch at the old station is still here Cut granite culvert for a mountain runoff stream. This type of super thick tree growth is characteristic of a regrowth after a forest fire. There was a devastating one here back in 1947. The larger, hardier trees will eventually move back in. Sometimes that takes decades to hundreds of years. The mountain in the middle is Pleasant mountain. Home of Shawnee Peak ski area. A view to the east Tough to see but waaaaay off in the purple mountains distance is Mt Washington. Still some snow in the ravines. Big beautiful beech tree Bridge goes over the Saco River in East Hiram village. Route 113/5 (the bridge) is intersected by RT 117 (heading away from viewpoint) on left View to the east. On the far right of the hilltop in view there's a fire tower. That's on Peaked Mountain, also in South Hiram One of the cairns that marks the trail Meeha/mirror enjoying the scenery The Large Bear in his natural environment

8 pointsRims got color corrected today. FYI...antique white rims matter!
-
8 pointsSo While Trina is doing all this work Will you be able to keep up with the photos and commentary?
-
7 pointsOh by the way... @WHX24 will be happy to know this C will be a real proper colored Red restoration.
-
7 pointsJust one question: What’s Trina’s estimate on her completion of the rebuild?

6 pointsMowed my new yard with my “new” 417-12A. Awesome cut till the PTO spud bearing let go. Just a small glitch to contend with. Yes the seat leans backwards. It’s on a gt14 mounting plate till I get a new seat. Actually very comfortable though

5 pointsFew more from today. I have a video of a diesel horse and a 1916 Waterloo Boy that I’ll have to share when I get home and have WiFi . We are pooped! Wearing a mask in 92+ temps is rough! Sad part is very few people are wearing them.
-
5 pointsI helped my buddy clean up his 856. We got this from the same gentleman i bought my 312 from. If he wasnt going to buy it, I was. When we brought it home, it looked like it had 50+ years of rust and patina. We were originally going to rub it down with a mixture of mineral spirits and boiled linseed oil to shine it up and preserve the patina. After hitting it with the pressure washer, there was more red paint hiding under there than we thought. The original hood was dinged up, but we were able to find a replacement that matched pretty closley in color. Fires right up with a turn of the key, and the cigarette lighter still works.

4 pointsI picked up 2 snowblowers and a Tiller. All 3 came with owners manuals. The plan is to fit them up to the C-145. I’m unsure if I am going to keep the short chute. This all my sons doing. He is the driving force for “most” of this WheelHorse stuff....

4 pointsWho knew? Found the factory correct... square seat pan... in inventory here today!

4 pointsI'll s'pose I'll just keep the restoration thread going right here. @Sparky maybe you could push it over to the Restoration Section? I removed the engine tin and cleaned out the Rodent Ramada. The drive belt spun off the transmission pulley which is rusted to the point of breakage. That's good because it saved me removing the belt. There are some places/things about the tractor that are quite solid. Steering wheel has the original cap. Steering system is nice and tight. Seat back has been replaced and is nice. Seat base is original and very good. The hitch pin and one hub are loose. The muffler is an OE Nelson and rock solid. @Docwheelhorse I did find why it may have been parked originally. The voltage regulator wires were leaning heavily on the steering shaft and worn through. From what I understand about SSI systems it's likely not working because of that but we'll see later. Over the years the transmission has frozen up. Not a serious issue as we have a couple spares. Here's the post cleaning picture The belt is BESIDE the pulley.

4 pointsGlad you are having a good time. Too bad so few people are willing to take the advice of our medical professionals and wear a mask. I see this 953 has the dual wheel set-up and the optional washboard seat back. @BOB ELLISON hasn't made one of those yet.
-
4 pointsQuick update, finally decided how to build the digger arms. This is the first side of the main arm, it will be cut down a lot before it's finished and will be box section. Also added a bit of style to the side of the cab and sanded down the engine compartment.
-
4 points@WVHillbilly520H @The Tuul Crib Here's the setup. Not sure if I can use it.
-
4 pointsPulled it out to mow a tiny section of grass that i always miss cause my tow truck is parked in the way. Hopped on the tractor with an ice coffee in my left hand. Went to put in on the footrest while i released the brake and lowered the deck. Then i realized i have a cupholder 😎 definitely something to appreciate compared to my old mower

3 pointsI don’t know if it’s the best way but I used 0000 steel wool and Windex to do a good deep final cleaning on my 606 roller and then I shot it with several coats of matte clearcoat. I like it because it has a realistic look that’s not too shiny but protects the remaining finish and doesn’t attract dust or dirt. It still looks like it did after several years.

3 pointsThanks @Lee1977. Not sure we’ll have time tomorrow. We’ve got to get Emory home early tomorrow as we don’t have his seizure medicine for tomorrow and I don’t want to risk another seizure. We just got back from circling the grounds and I got a few more pics from around the grounds.

3 pointsWell its 100% better than it was already... and it screaming "oil can" like the Tin Man is being addressed. Im very happy it is where it is. And I bet it is too Tony

3 pointsI swear I’ve seen that one before somewhere . Glad to hear the motor isn’t locked up. (For those that don’t know I live right next door to Tony)
-
3 pointsI'd had that thought too. If not I'll do a GM 4 pin module conversion.
-
3 pointsActually he has hired me to protect the corn from the woodchucks, racoons, and deer and any two legged varmints that forget to pay. He pays me in corn, cabbage, and cantaloupes.. That's some bicolored gold right there. Corn has been selling at the local auction for record highs this year. He picked 400 doz. for this mornings auction. It brought $15/doz.

2 pointsAnything 1-1/8” axle would work for ya, anything 8 speed would bolt right in. Lowell @wheelhorseman sells the transmission case gaskets, it might be worth a look inside. There are plenty of parts available to fix what you have, or look for a donor with the larger axles. @davidtmercer did have an arrangement of transmissions, he’s just south of the MI border off 131. It might be worth asking him what he”s got.

2 pointsWell I went to the hardware store this AM to try and find some sort of rubber seal for the lid. I picked up some window seal. Not the best but it will do for now and it was cheap. Going to bring the cooler to my mothers picnic on Monday. After the picnic I will look for something better. The holes were already there to screw it down. I put a new bottle opener I had on it as the one it came with was broken and I made a cap catcher out of a plastic paint tray and painted it " chrome ". Works for now. Now I am going to get a few cases of Coke to put it in. Came out OK. I wish it was all original like yours @oliver2-44 . @bcgold I will look for better gasket after the party. I needed it done in a hurry so this works for now.
-
2 pointsInteresting OHV set up. I'll look forward to seeing that in more detail.
-
2 pointsA day or two and you'll soon have it tidied up, Randy.
-
2 pointsSorry to hear of these problems. If you are using gas with ethanol, please STOP, that junk will ruin the fuel system. Look at this site for information on locations near you that sell ethanol free gas. https://www.buyrealgas.com/ The contaminants left in tour fuel tank and fuel line probably caused problems in the new components. The aftermarket carburetors being sold today seem to be more prone to problems than the ones your engine left the factory with. I would drain the fuel tank, replace the fuel line (1/4" rubber fuel hose) add a fuel filter, rebuild the carb. and put the factory fuel pump back on. Use non-ethanol gas and add some Sea Foam to the fuel.

2 pointsBought myself a york rack, today 6' wide and @ 7' long and weighs a ton. This ought to work nice on my 1/4 mile driveway. The brand is York which came orange colored, why someone would paint it green is beyond me I think I better change it to red or it just won't look good behind a
-
2 pointsNot a durn thing but just mowing the front yard which is always an adventure! The backyard will leave a lot to be desired. Just want to select a look at it!
-
2 pointsThrew a little bit o' color on the 414... and changed the engine oil too.
-
2 pointsWell, let me just say it hasnt been the best weather to be painting on the driveway with no shade. I got it done though. I learned that I dont have a steady hand or very good eyesight to be trying to paint the lettering by hand. It looks good at 10 feet but looks a mess close up. The more I try and fix it the worse it gets. The added bonus was there is lettering on all 4 sides !! Going to get some weather stripping to put under the lid and need to replace the bottle opener yet. Much harder then it looks trying to paint the lettering. I wont ever try that again. Next time I will look for vinyl lettering. So hot out there .... I need a Pepsi
