as I just did it and included on my C-121 build thread, I thought I would give a little more detail here on adding a gas gauge to a 1978-1983 C series. It might work on 300/400/500 but I don't know what the gas tank is like. Start with a universal sender and Gauge. Then cut a 1-1/2 hole in the right side of the tank. Marking holes to use self tapping screws to seal the sender. (yes I ended up a little off centre... hard to tell with sender unit in place) adjust the height and cut the dip rod down to just reach the top and bottom - about 7" Screw unit in connect +/- to battery and sender to remaining terminal - making sure sender is grounded at the tank end. and there you go A little easier and snazzier than getting off to see the faded/obscured gas gauge that is on the filler cap.

I got so hot unloading my $20 wheelhorse tiller. I had to kick back and relax in the kiddy pool! LOL Im so overworked I tell ya! LOL

I have heard many of you speak of “Barn Finds”. I always thought to myself how great it would be if someday I was as fortunate to find a old tractor hid away in a barn somewhere. Well it finally happened to me with this 1977 12hp Wheel Horse that sat in a barn in southern Virginia for the past 12 years. There are too many mice nests to count as you can see but it’s all original and I couldn’t beat the asking price. The original owner passed away many years ago and the tractor sat unused in his barn. His daughter finally decided to part with it. I feel very fortunate to have gotten it.

Reminds me of this classic beauty, had a poster like this that used to hang at the parts store I worked at years ago, those who got it laughed hard, and those who scratched their heads at it gave us a good laugh.

We are having a wedding reception in our back field this fall. I’m building a little access road through the overgrowth. And maybe another food plot next to it.

and though a hassle, the cheap bolts like this are a perfect failsafe for the wing hydraulics. Smoke something big and heavy at any rate of speed, it pops this instead of a $200 cylinder.

I am near Saegertown PA 16433. About 80 miles from Jimtown...and can probably help with the Sundstrand Hydro repair if it gets to that. Shhhhhh!!! IRV is tucked in! have to keep one of my tractors in the crib so when I start to kick up dust I have something to cover it with.

Took the C-161 out and gave it a wipe down. Decided I cant keep 4 tractors in the garage so its going up for sale.

Worked on the 520-H. Installed new 1/4" SS heims joints on the motion control new cam plate and new cam. Had almost 1/8" slop in the control before now there is none.

All of my Wheel Horse stuff goes to my boys after i am gone.....They both have a bright future, and a good sense of what good quality means

@GEnd You will never regret having a 44'' two stage blower on a 520 H. If it has been regularly serviced and or if you are willing to bring it back mechanically to where it should be, once you use it you will be praying for snow. I find the gear reduction steering works great. I know my 91 has it and I think they all did up to the last one's in 1997.

Trina, her mom, Meeha mirror, and I spent some quality time in the woods today. I pulled 4 loads out to the shed and they did a fair amount of splitting. Could've done a bit more but thunderstorms were rolling in... Trina snapped a pic of this neat mushroom. I wish video was better at showing inclination angle. This is a fairly steep climb for a few feet. Note zero work on the part of the big 16.

So this is a interesting story. I was pinged in a marketplace ad for a wheelhorse tiller for $20 and unfortunately i was working on my horse and was to late. I tried to ask if it was for sale still and the guy said nope sorry. So i thought that was that. Well then my wife's older cuzin(whom i dont really talk to at all hardly) texts me out of the blue and says hey nate I bought that tiller. I said well neat'o. He then said Come get it saturday! I said well ok I will. He says: Also bring me my $20. LOL I guess he wanted it to stay in the family. Well what happened was his neighbor who is also a realitive of my wife had the tiller and just wanted it gone. He also has something else that i was excited to see and I have never owned one I will have first dibs on when i muster up the money. a 520h that the tiller was on. The 520 has some issues tho. wrong motor(a new twin cyclinder vangaurd with only 10 hours on it) and lots of bird poop and tranny looks like it leaks. Anyways here is the tiller and what it came with. Is there a manual for it on here i cant read the numbers on it.

One of my favorites for sure. Pictured is a 1977 as delivered and now cleaned up as original from the original owner complete with owners manual. Good luck with it, Great tractor.

I just saw this white puff flower thing... it’s at least 3-4” diameter!

More progress on the new food plot. I am amazed at what this sickle mower will eat! I did however find a tree that tossed the belt.

Mowing the yard with the 702 is the best practice there is for practicing left turns. There is just something about going straight and then turning left over and over and over again that gives me goose bumps. I've been mowing the grass 3 times a week so far this year...I wish it was 4. I've got one of these in each corner of my yard during mowing season. What a thrill.

I found out by accident that it can blow leaves after I hit a pile of them covered in snow.

LOL! He asked if i would flip it before money changed hands. I said no way Im keeping it. He was super glad to hear that. Me and my wife want to buy a cheap place out in the country and do like a homestead thing. Do our own garden and stuff. I grew up out in the country and worked farms and did gardens. I am so ready to live out away from all the craziness!

My goal at some point would be to turn one into a sweeper attachment. Haven't figured it all out yet, but I have a spare parts blower laying around and I've been eyeing it to see what it might take to accomplish it.

Taking a family trip with the FEL on Stormy to gather berries! Regarding the tire under Rylee... It’s only flat on the bottom! Jada was a bit hot from the sun and a little out of sorts, but a Jeep ride to town for BBQ and ice cream fixed that... along with a dip in the pool.

well guys it has been quite a while here as taking the time to re wire the old 73 no name ;i have removed all of the old wiring and replaced it with new wires ;it runs great and boy is it fast for a 16 horse with the hydro stat transmission which i like more than the standard types which out of the 6 horses i have 4 are the hydro stat and 2 are the standard types ; and after time i was able to find a deck that would work as it is the older style 46 inch which the belt that runs off the mule drive to the electric clutch fits great and the old girl mows very nice ;i am going to attach a few pictures 'plus this is the first time i have ever had a horse with the electric clutch and it works great ;as once i hit the switch there really isn't any big noise as just a click and the deck takes right off ;if this clutch fails i have another one to replace it 'being a wheel horse collector for years i don't throw any parts away ;meaning spindles;blades or even mule drives or even the tact-o-matic items ;as we never know when we might need one in the future ;

I just picked up a 1991 520-H with that sticker on it. I was thinking someone just stuck it on. The sticker is not in good shape. The tractor was advertised as having a sized motor, but complete. Been sitting for five years, new back tires, swept front end, 1900 hours . Seat has a few cracks and arm rest, paint not bad some rust. Got it home put good battery in it, not even a click when I turned the key. Power at the starter crossed it with a screw driver and it turned over and wanted to start, I stopped and have not done anything else with it. I picked up a C111-8 three weeks ago that has been sitting a few years, has a Briggs on it. Have not had time for it either, hope to get to both soon.

What in the heck were they trying to make there? Jeez... Whoever did it must've been a transplant from California or somewhere

The first Wheel Horse I ever owned was a C !20 just like your barn find.I loved it.Tough and dependable..You have a keeper there.

Ya what squonk said, I replaced my mechanical pump on my 1989 414-8 and I will never go back to a mechanical pump, I used a Facet pump a little pricey but you only get what you pay for. Can't even hear it when engine is running. I will never use a mechanical pump again instant starts every time! Bob

spent the morning, polishing the release button, and scraping the adapter I received in the mail a few days ago....things will be looking better soon !!

Looks like one of my favorite phrases come to life, those who can't.....shouldn't. But in all seriousness I have a soft spot in my heart for things like this, somebody had a vision and they worked to make it happen, and I am sure it worked for them and they were happy with it. I would never own it, but I appreciate that someone had the ambition to make it because they thought it was cool, and it was something they wanted to do.

Got a call from an old friend of Home I known for many years saying can you help me cut these boards to go in the bed of this truck.? I jumped on this like a duck on a June bug. It was a great experience of a cool idea that GMC had back then!

Nope, one axle will just spin in the hub and its my experience at first they might grab a little, making it feel like the tranny. I'll keep my fingers crossed since it's an easy fix!! This can happen while trying to get it back to the shop. Randy

And now for the rest of the story Come to find out, I took the battery had it load tested, only 5 cold cranking amps. Altho it read 12.53 volts. New battery and it fired right up So I'm back in business. Rebuild the carb and that should fix the idling problem. After that I should have all glitches sorted out.

1956 rj35 built into a rj25 clone. Just got it a couple of months ago and haven’t had a chance to work on it yet.

The lawn in the garden I do with a self propelled walk behind. I mow the green and lane verges with my C-125. Nice to be able to put I to use. Also gives me great satisfaction when people say how nice things look.
