11 pointsOur Sophi. She's a Daddy's girl, even though my wife spoils her. Sorcha, she's a pretty intense cat. If you start playing fetch with her you better have some time to kill. One or both of these critters will be found planted on my lap any time that I'm kicking back in my recliner.

10 pointsMy two girls. Both been gone over two years ago, but not forgotten. Rusty. Katie. This is what we have now. S.W.M.B.O.'s miniature lop eared rabbit. Timothy. Thinks more of it than me. Can you tell?

10 pointsHad some friends over the other night and they have twin little girls. One of the girls was enamored with the little die cast tractors that I have. So, I gave her one of the spare “toy” ones that we have to play with. Then she was asking for a ride on one of the GT’s. I got out Comanche and her dad took her for a ride. She enjoyed it so much that her sister, who wasn’t interested initially, got into the action. It was fun to share the hobby with them! Then for Father’s Day my parents bought me a shirt that many of you guys will like—especially my LC buddies because I’m frequently in IH gear

10 pointsGreat thread Eric! Lots of fun stuff here...it is amazing what these furry creatures do to bring joy to our day to day lives—and sometimes headachesbut we love them anyway. Our two “live in” cats are: Cubbie. He is a super lovable Tabby! Pepper. We got her from Jim at plow day several years ago. She is feisty and has a chip on her shoulder but has really worked her way into all our hearts... Nixie is our 14 year old Siberian. She is a sweetheart and it will be really tough when she decides it time for the final frontier.

9 pointsSeldom seen Craftsman grinder honer. Its made by Atlas . Atlas model 2400. Honing stone is reversible having two different grits 120 and 320. Honing stone uses mixture of kerosene and oil just like a regular whetstone. It’s from the 1950s.

7 pointsMy wiener doggy MIA was born with a cleft paw. she doesn't let it bother her she is also a spoiled brat. The other brown pup in the 1st second of the video is Tina and she almost died because of her daddy he bit her on the head when she was a small pup for some dumb reason and so we gave him a way to a good home. He was a good dog but he bit the pups twice and we didn't want him to do it to kill them or hurt any little kids. So we have to special pups. We love both of them.

7 pointsGot sick of breaking weak clothes hooks with our boiler suits in the laundry/porch. Happen to have a whole pile of steps that they put on power lines for the guys to climb up. These are now mounted on a bit of old shed flooring and screwed to the wall - surely that will be unbreakable!

6 pointsForewarning, after reading back through my post before I submitted it, I decided to add a forward to my post. I realize it's a bit all over the place as I was processing a bunch of complicated emotions real time as I was typing. I thought about cleaning it up, but decided against it, so with that in mind...Warning: Emotional vomit, overuse of the phrase happy and healthy, and plenty of cute pictures ahead. Took my pups to the river on Tuesday after their visit to the vet, Finn our young pup on the left is doing well, just some ear irritation. Our old girl Jenny in the back though is a whole other story. Early last year she had some problems going to the bathroom, so we took her to the vet. Turned out she had a stomach bug which she got over quickly, but during the exam the vet found a mass on her spleen. From there they pushed us to a local animal hospital for further testing where on top of the mass they additionally found that she had a grade 4 AV blockage in her heart. So they told us they wanted to remove the spleen, but didn't feel safe operating on her without doing something with her heart, and they wanted to install a pacemaker as well, so two major surgeries on our at the time 11 year old pup (in a breed which lives to be an average of 11-12 years old) who outside of a stomach bug showed no signs of any issues and was as happy and healthy as she had always been. I still think I made the right decision, but we chose not to put her through all of that surgery and pain for potentially a few extra months...maybe? And with the exception of one day since then where she had some fainting incidents, she has been otherwise happy and healthy, and I am thankful each and every day that she is still with us. But that brings us to our visit on Tuesday. Since the last visit she has also formed a few bumps on her head and neck, something we assume is the mass on her spleen spreading, something we expected but hoped wouldn't happen. They took her in for her exam, and came back out to mention that due to the masses, they didn't feel it was in her best interest to give her any shots, because it will tax her immune system, and because with the growths on her neck they are fairly certain that she has lymphoma. They offered to get a biopsy done to confirm, but they said if it comes back positive from there the only thing they can do is start chemo. Again though, to this day she has still been acting completely normal, eating, drinking, going to the bathroom, so I just cannot justify putting her through chemo and making her sick when she is otherwise healthy and happy, and again for maybe a gain of a few extra weeks or months with her. I would give anything I have to keep this dog healthy and happy and with me for as long as possible, but I cannot do it at her expense. I want every day she has left with us to be a happy one, curled up on the couch getting petted, not constantly vomiting, and sore from the medication in the hopes that maybe she'll have a few good days at the end, when she is having good days now. This is absolutely killing me to type, probably because for the most part I have been in denial the past two days, and this is the first time I am really taking the time to actual say all this stuff out loud and thing about it. I apologize for the length of this message, and I am sorry if I bring a somber tone, to what is mostly a happy and uplifting thread. Pets make us better people. They provide unconditional love, and teach us to care. I don't know how many days, weeks, or months I have left with my sweet Jenny, but so long as she is comfortable and not in pain I am going to appreciate every single one. I gave this dog a home 10 and a half years ago, but in that time she has done so much more for me. I will be a wreck when the day comes and for a long time after, but I know that she has lived a good life, and I will always carry her with me. Now time for some bonus pictures through the years, to show the joy this dog has brought me. January 2010, just a few weeks after I picked her up. She came from a shelter in Arkansas, and a transport truck brought her here to CT after I had adopted her. Our first Christmas together, decided to lay down and take a nap on my aunt and uncles couch after a day full of festivities. To my knowledge this was her first time playing in snow, I don't know if she experienced it before I adopted her, but she quickly found that she loved it, she still loves loves to bound through it, and bury her face in it, trying to sniff out what could be hiding in it. When my then roommate got a cat, they became quick friends. For fun I would always put clothes like hats and scarves on her, she'd tolerate it, but I would always get that look... And there isn't much that she loves more than lazy days in bed. Except maybe playing with her cousins. Teaching me how to drive stickshift. and enjoying the view Meeting her brother at the local Animal Welfare for the first time before we adopted him, and then he came home. Which after 8 years of it being only her and me, and then my girlfriend at the time (now wife) moving in and then us getting a puppy, she handled it all in stride. The tradition of dressing up will continue on with her brother as well , he's already fallen prey.( I know all the other pictures were about her, but this one was adorable and felt I had to include it). Also she hates helping build Ikea furniture. I love this dog with all my being, she has nothing but love in her heart. This whole thing so far has felt like a bit of tribute to her, which is odd since she's still kicking and hopefully for a while still, but it was extremely therapeutic for me. So I am sorry for the size of this entire post, and I realize that my emotions and message are probably a bit all over the place, but believe me, that's how I was typing it up. I wanted to go back and try and clean it up some, but I figured better to just leave it as is. Thank you all for letting me work out my emotions through this post, I didn't even know I needed to until I started typing. I hope a few of the pictures give you some joy, and make sure to give all your pets an extra scratch on the head tonight!

6 pointsInteresting topic this. Some brilliant ideas, but there's no way I'm letting Carol see it. She gets enough ideas as it is and it's me who has to sort them.

6 pointsI forgot to mention, this pic was taken a year ago when I was confined to my recliner after back surgery. He was in my lap all day and night. same thing when I've been sick or these past 2 months when I've been out with knee surgery

6 pointsS.W.M.B.O. wanted an outside toilet. So I got her two. An old Belfast sink. Pedestal from a broken bird bath and a seat found on a stall at a rally.

6 pointsThis is a much easier project than you guys, but helpful none the less. I took the original ground lead from my new welder, and made a ground strap to help you ground to odd shapes that your clamp won't work on. Stripped the insulation off and separated the bundles, then braided them together with lugs at each end to hold it together.

5 pointsOur three cats seemed to take over the kitchen with bowls everywhere you stepped. I had some bits of kitchen bench left over from recent work, it seemed a shame to dump it. The cats now have a heavy bowl holder that keeps everything in one place, stops us breaking our necks, and the OCD keeps me happy.

5 pointsOne never really thinks about it but nearly everything here is repurposed in one way or another. Countless little stuff that is repurposed. Picture frame for someone important here from his own handscrew using his brass bolts I inherited from him. Hooks made from branches are common here and an old ticket holder for a key hook.

4 pointsTrina and I both have Android phones and we use the Google system. I'm sure many of you are well aware that Google sends you suggestions for all kinds of stuff. Google photos in particular might send you a suggestion related to a picture like, do you want to rotate this? Do you want to correct the color or tint? Do you want to remember this day ... a year ago or whatever... So a couple days ago Trina gets a little window popping up on her phone and it's the video below. Google in its infinite wisdom separated out a bunch of pictures that Trina had taken of our dog. In the interest of full disclosure, the five-year-old in me is absolutely fascinated with this technology. I know a lot of you have or have had, pets that you are quite fond of. Please do take a minute and share with the rest of us, photos, videos, whatever.

4 pointsThe plow is set up as good as I can get it, just need the steel wear strip and can attack some dirt with it. Next item is the new (to me) mower deck. Have pressure washed any old grass off it and given the underside a coating of used oil. Now it's basking in the sun. Will grease up the spindles later on, but now it's time for a refreshing beer. I wonder how old the deck is, no serial number on it that I can see.

4 pointsI believe that you have a plow for a Page. Page tractors were made in Milwaukee, I found this picture of a Page with the plow mounted. Wish it showed another view. The back of the plow looks very similar to the one you have.

4 pointsMy father learned to drive a tractor trailer back in the mid-to-late 60s on a B model Mack. No power steering. 22 INCH diameter steering wheel with like eight or ten turns lock-to-lock. The guy that taught him how to drive said to pick a line, follow the line, trust your mirrors. He drove tractor trailer for over 30 years after that. Off and on between some other jobs. Almost all local delivery. City driving in Eastern Massachusetts. In and out of Revere at the oil tanks more times than you could count. Put on some over a million miles. Never caused an accident. So they start to get towards retirement and bought a 7 x 9 pop-up trailer. You think he could make that thing go backwards anywhere near a straight line?? He found it so amusing that he could make a tractor-trailer go within an inch or two of where he wanted it ... EVERY. Single. Time. I went over to visit one day and he made me get in the driver's seat of the Buick LeSabre tow vehicle and said Back that thing up. Giggling at me the whole time. @JCM check out the video above

4 pointsOffered to purchase but the tire shop instead gave me a few hundred pounds of wheel weights, some are Fe iron, some lead and the sought after Zn Zinc that I'm after. Fe - iron is magnetic Lead is soft with a low melt point, when struck against a metal object has a dead sound Zn - Zinc a harder metal than lead has a higher melt point, has a ring tone when struck against a metal object. Sorting is a tedious scutt job, I'll keep the zinc and give the lead away to someone casting bullets or fishing weights. The fry pan is zinc.
