12 pointsHi Everyone, Went to use my WH 1054 last weekend and discovered a flat tire. Went to the local farm store found a tube and brought out the tire irons. Back in business. Hauled up a black cherry log for my son's next furniture project.

9 pointsI know a couple people may have seen this on FB... but I done and got a new haircut! It was just after our first bracket loss on a Euchre Tournament and we went on to win 1st place! Coincidence? Intimidation?

7 pointsTrina, her mom, and I, along with the puppy dog spent some time in the woods today. Cut another path to get into another area with the splitter. Trina and her mom split a small pile of wood that we had sliced up a week or two ago, along with some that I did today. I spent a couple tanks worth of gas limbing and sectioning up parts of several different trees. I took the dog back on foot and Trina talked her mom into driving the Cinnamon Horse up out of the woods. Note the fact that Trina's mom is sticking her tongue out at her. Trina reports that her mom was smiling from ear-to-ear!!!

7 pointsI know this forum is mainly trolled by boys on their tractors, but there are women too. @Jennifer @Mrs. Rules Karen T, Birdie and all the mothers out there, thanks so much for putting up with those children, though they’re sometimes little devils in sheepskin!

7 pointsWas telling Krystal about the tractor ride up in Nebraska that Rodger always used to take his Farmall H to, and we were talking about how much fun it would be. So I got on YouTube and we were watching videos of the ride. Was watching this particular video from 2011 and out of the blue at 1:49 I see a very familiar face. The guy you see in the bib overalls under the IH umbrella is none other than my friend Rodger himself, picked up the phone to call him to let him know about it, he remembered that day quite well and could even remember what he told them when asked what his favorite part of the ride was.

6 pointsWelcome to Red Square... The manual 8 speed transmission used in the C-125 is a Wheel Horse #103916. This thread with videos will show you how to fix and assemble your transmission. The transmission in the videos is a #5091...it is basically the same as your transmission. One difference would be, the #5091 uses the #1533 ball bearing for the differential carriage...your #103916 transmission uses the #111199 needle bearing for the differential carriage. The issue with your transmission is probably a bent or broken shift fork for the hi/low range shifter. TORO has the replacement part for a little over $50. You will have to drop and open your transmission case. Check out the pictures and videos in this thread. The second video and the pictures before it shows the part and the problem. Here is the manual for all the transmissions...you want to use Section V in conjunction with the videos.

6 pointsBeautiful day here in Oklahoma today...did get a bit chilly for us last night (37 when I left for the coffee shop this morning) but warmed up to a wonderful 75 for the afternoon. Pretty nice compared to the upper 90s we had a few days ago. Boys and I decided it was a good day to take the old M for a cruise around the ranch

6 pointsLast weekend was a time for a group of us to play with our garden tractors. Les was impressed that we were able to get it turned over with our little machines. He also said that the event has been quite a conversation topic in his neighbor hood. Today I was able to get some seat time on my 1947 Cockshutt 30. My dad & I restored this Cockshutt about 20yrs ago. At one time Dad asked me if I could have one of the 16 antique farm tractors that he had, which one would I choose. Without hesitation, I said the Cockshutt 30. He said that some of the other ones were worth more. I agreed with him and said that I was sticking by my choice. Of the tractors that Dad & I restored together this tractor has always been my favorite. With out further ado I'll share some pictures of Les & I planting soy beans today. First a pic of Les at the wheel while I was riding on the grain drill to make sure things were working properly. A couple of pictures of me running the show. I know that you guys like video's so here is a video that Les took while I was planting. Not much left to do with this field now but sit back & wait for the beans to grow. Maybe I'll check back in on this post come harvest time.

4 pointsWell i know i don't get time to be on the forums much any more, but i wanted to chime in and pass on the bad news. After 53 years of fathfull service the 1267 lost her heart yesterday. I am not sure if it was a valve, broke rod or burnt piston, but it died. Turns over and has no compression at all. I am the 2nd owner of her and the 1st owner bought her new and mowed 2 acres with her when they lived in Indiana, then mowed 4 acres when they moved to North Dakota. I then bought her and Mowed 3 acres in south Dakota, moved to Indiana and mowed 3 acres here. She has not missed a year of service since new. I think thats pretty good. So now i not sure what i am going to do with her, not sure how i am going to get the yard mowed. Just wanted to share her story with the group

4 pointsFar from dead. bore, grind the crank, grind valve seats, new guides, piston, rod, rings, bearings and seals. good to go another 50 years with proper maintenance. I done hundreds of these engines that certainly looked worse. just check the cylinder apron to make sure when the rod broke loose it didn’t crack it.

4 pointsI would definitely have to say happy mother day to my wife and mom and all they put up with, with my kids and there hard work wife and I at symco on a ride up to the show with the youngestmy mom on her newly painted up 702 which I am sure all have seen

4 pointsWhen I read that, I thought of one of those hat pins women used to/use to hold their hat's on. Was a bit perplexed why you should want one.
-
4 pointsThat's a great service life! Easy enough to swap an engine and get it back to work.

4 pointsHad a go at decals, the Belt routing / Height adjustment decal belongs on the left belt cover, but I need to get the end cap welded on and refinished first. I had asked Terry if he could use my initials and 001 for the Serial#

3 pointsHello. I am new to Wheelhorse and new to this forum. I just purchased a completely restored C-120 from Wheel Horse Stables in Harrodsburg, Ky. which is about an hour southwest from my home. This is my first Wheelhorse tractor. I am 70 years old and newly retired after 30 years in pastoral ministry followed by 17 years as a college professor. My wife and I live on a 1 acre lot on the edge of a small town and I bought the Wheel Horse to keep up the yard and do other jobs around the place. My first questions on this forum are: 1. How can I determine the year of production for my Wheelhorse? 2. Where is the best place to find an Operators Manual for this tractor? 3. What does a first time Wheelhorse owner need to know about the C-120 from the git-go? Thank you for your time and I look forward to interacting on this forum in the future. Regards, Alan David Profitt (DoctorP)

3 pointsThis ol girl was rough when I got her and still is, but even with the hydro being weak and in need of an overhaul, she’s been pulling the garden disc and taking trail rides without issue. Today I got a wild hair, freed up the deck spindles, chiseled the rust off the pulleys which rendered them pretty much shot, pulled the pto belt off the 520 and put her to some lawn duty. Truthfully, I don’t see why this ol girl, with some love, isn’t just as capable as my 520 for my little 1.2 acres and 50x50 garden. The current issue with this new Horse addiction is, with everything going on in this world, funds are tight. I put a LOT of time and money into the 520 and I absolutely love it, but if I were to let her go, I think there’d be a profit, enough funds to get the 1277 in correct order, put some more horses in the stable to fix and/or flip for side cash, and probably have enough left to stick another project 520 in the mix. Sure would miss than Onan rumble, although I’m dang impressed with this 12hp Kohler grunt and thump! Decisions, decisions.... what would you guys do in this situation? My girlfriend tells me- “I’m done giving you advice, all you do is wipe your a** with it and do what you want anyhow” 😂 but just incase, what say you folks?

3 pointsNot really homemade it's an old Webster pressurized paint pot that's been slightly modified. using the existing threaded ports was able to install a pressure relief valve, pressure gauge and the bobble head. The pressure cooker holds 16 quarts of grain, which is being sterilized before inoculation.

3 pointsBroke down and got some new deestone D405 26x12-12 tires for my D160 and for the price I really like them, though they do seem to run a little bit smaller but just barely. Going through the woods in my back yard is about 14 acres of muddy rutted trails and the D goes through like it's on tracks now 100% better than the old turfs.

3 pointsWell I got them all off the trailer today yeah it was Mother’s Day but the wife was on call and got called in for a couple hrs today so the kids and I went out and pulled them off first one is a 1054 no hood seat was there but trashed gas tank isn’t terrible original grill and has all lights has the down draft carb and the hydro system is all there original motor, next is a hydro tractor not Original motor more for parts then anything but I think I am going to swap rear ends put a narrow front and do my first build out of it sense it’s a real basket case, next is a 552 pretty decent little tractor other then not original motor and good is cut rear end gears are good couldn’t pass up the deal for them a lot of good parts and picked up some front wheel weights off a Allis but I am going to try to put them on the front of a tractor... guy ended up with these he put a ad in the paper he wanted allis but he kept getting calls for tractors but would show up and they would not be what he was looking for but ended up buying them they have been sitting for some time. Guy wanted to restore them when he retired but he said he won’t ever have the time being his wife has 5 beauty parlors and he has rental property’s so he said they have to go. Was a real nice guy. But I am really hoping I have all my parts for to make my ultimate plow tractor. Watch for that post soon

3 pointsHey Ryan, you’ll have to take a closeup of that sticker on the Big Wheel. Unless I’m wrong that is a 1054A just like my Rusty that I picked up last summer. It would be interesting to know how many numbers they are apart from one another...🤔 mine is 49349 The wheel and tire combo is the same as yours The patina is quite similar too. Can’t wait to see what you have in mind for this trio but especially that Big Wheel!

3 pointsLike the new look Kevin. I think you should rock that dew for a while. I on the other hand am about 1 month past my yearly hair cut, me mullet is starting to get a bit out of control.

3 points2 years ago..or more... I had A 520-H along with a few other Wheelhorse Tractors. My favorite has always been the C-160 auto and the Bonco 14... Both with Kohlers and both auto matic with hyd lift. The 520-H was also with hyd lift and I regret selling it for $750...just the tractror. My advice...hide the 520-H from your girl friend... don't sell the kids. Can never have too many.

3 pointsGreat... now we gotta worry about all those big polar bears migrating South in search of colder temps.
-
3 pointsAgreed! I found out the hard way that a 16 hp with a loader essentially has zero brakes. I determined this after driving up a hill loaded, push in the clutch and down the hill she went. I would like to design and build a small hydraulic disc brake for the loader someday. The friction band brake leaves a lot to desire.

3 pointsMake sure you use the correct type of oil filter, NAPA 1410 or Wix 51410 are good one's Ron

3 pointsWell finally got to have my grand baby Emma over. And so with that she was helping her grandpa tinker Saturday morning. This is her first ride on papa's newest wheelhorse! It warms my heart to see her smile!!

3 pointsI know I’ve posted this one a bunch but it is fitting for this special day. I love my mom so very much and I’m thankful to still have her with us still... Mom and I have always had a special bond and I’m very thankful for her tireless investment in me when I was young and complicated! I’m also thankful for my wife and the AMAZING mother that she is to my children. For those of you who’s mothers have passed away, I pray that you will have some sweet memories of her today. Reflect on the fact that certain parts of your personality are from her and her investment in you! Happy Mothers Day to the wonderful wives and mothers to my buddies on this great site!!! Make it a special day for them boys!

3 pointsThanks for the good word, Eric. I appreciate it. I have attached some pics to help all of you answer my questions and, at the risk of being banned from the forum on my first day, I included a pic of a Case 195 that I myself restored... thought I'd brag a bit...just erase it from your minds and act like I never sent it. 2 pointsSo i dont know if anyone here has heard of Iracing.com before. Its an internet racing simulation that is backed by man nascar drivers and has been televised the last few weeks. This weekend they are doing their final race at the track called north wilksboro that they have not raced at since 1996. The track is abandoned and they recreated recently. The reason i bring this up is Dale Earnhardt Jr posted a 15 min video on recreating it and they were showing quick clips of it and then i spotted a billboard that was pretty cool! So thought id share it Also here is the video to better explain if anyone is interested.

2 pointsLoaded up the 1277 loader and 310 and brought them to town for some dirt work. Had a hundred year old tree taken out a few years ago and the front yard had really humped up over the years. We hauled about 4 pickup truck loads of dirt out, moved more around then reseaded. I took an old scotts spreader and added a hitch made out of conduit to I could pull it behind a tractor. We also used it to spread sand on my heavy clay soil to try and loosen it up a bit.

2 pointsThere is a pretty good chance that this will become an annual event. Les was very pleased with the results. Last year when he planted he had trouble with beans being left on top of the ground behind the drill. That was not an issue at all yesterday. When we plow may change year to year though. In fact we might be able to plow this field again this fall. Les is thinking about putting in winter wheat after the soy beans are harvested.

2 pointsThe heads on those old engines are easy enough to remove, might be worth it just to take a look. As long as it was kept oiled and not run over-speed I see very little likely hood of a major failure. If it was running and just died I'd look at spark and fuel issues first. If it ran, was shut down, and wouldn't restart I'd look at spark and fuel issues first, then probably check that the ACR isn't just stuck open.

2 pointsThe same country that brought us covid19 then lied about it brings us that carb. Need I say more? Hopefully you still have the original Kohler carb, if not, buy a used one with a tight throttle rod.
