8 pointsMight as well end the week on a good note. Take your choice of 4 or 5. Where is that Bear from Hiram Me, he has a whole slew of tractors, post em up my friend,we all know Trina takes great pics. I see @c-series don has arrived, I have been wondering when he was going to blow us all out of the water, it was only a matter of time and I'm feeling the pressure.

8 pointsHoping to have something similar to this after the move is done. Just ordered the second 40’ container. There will 18’ between them and hopefully some kind of roof over the middle. That would give me an 18’x40’ concrete work floor with storage. 16’ garage doors between them front and rear. It would be a total of 32’x40’ “building”.

8 pointsThis is a great thread that needs to come out of page fifty of the archives and make it to the top of the heap again...tons of great stuff in here! I’ve been working in my shed again. Our local retailer had a sale on white pole barn steel and so I bought enough to finish about half of my 30’x12’ shop area... It was great to have my more than capable assistant @Coulter Caleb To help me with the install. We have made some good progress on it so far. Couldn’t have done the ceiling without his help for sure. It looks so much brighter in there now and I’m not even finished. Wait till I get my stuff finally organized and I have my buddies over...they won’t believe it!😁😂

7 points@PeacemakerJack & @pullstart about your comments about the finish on the 1977 C-120 in Two fer Tuesday, I guess I stumbled on Multiple threads on here about this topic and if I remember correctly I used Simple Green Cleaner with a Grout sponge several times then dried the surface and used a Scotch Brite Pad , cleaned off the residue and applied several coats of WD 40 sprayed on a cotton cloth, pretty simple thanks to some tips on here. I have included some before and after photos that you may have seen on earlier posts. I was really amazed at how it turned out and being my first C - Series I now consider it one of my favorites. Also after seeing that finish it convinced me that I needed to paint the wheels as well. Thanks for your interest.

7 pointsAfternoon fellas, figured I'd give a bit of an update. Progress has been slow on the 856 as I've been waiting for the last running gear and steering tower pieces to be painted it didn't make sense to assemble any further. The machine shop completed the k181 refresh boring ten over, cutting the valve seats, installing a new valve guide, and hot tanking. This was followed by media blasting in preparation for paint. A local mechanic reassembled the block to 90% I've just got to bolt the external stuff on, carb, pulse pump, tins etc. Again that doesn't really make sense to do until it's painted as they're all in the way of a thorough respray. If anyone is interested in the price for these type of services after tax. Machine shop~ $160 Engine reassembly~ $170 (2hrs labor) Other costs were NOS EBay finds or vendors here. All in it was more than I anticipated, but I know it's done right, and with all NOS parts=peace of mind

6 pointsGotta get a jump start on this...since it's already Friday in some parts of the world!!! Show us your "4" shots!!! I think this "counts" - WH Engine, Tender, Passenger Car and Caboose...
-
6 pointsDon't have a clue what it is, but with all that going on in front and below the seat with no cover, I wouldn't call it a nut roaster. More a nut crusher . #strapumuptight.
-
6 pointsIf you look at any unmolested, well patinaed older Wheel horse you will see that Kohler did a much better job of painting the engine tins than did of painting the tractor. They were the same color, but the engine paint is always brighter. Case in point, my 1055 engine tins are red, the rest of the tractor, not so much

6 pointsSome WD-40 goes a longways. My first intention is, I' am going to paint this one and you know the rest!!

5 pointsPicked up a few things to add to inventory, I know we all like pictures! The frame and about 10% of the haul is new old stock.

5 pointsIn 1982 my local volunteer fire department started a junior program for kids 12-18. I went to the very first meeting, I was 12 years old, staying in that organization until I was old enough to join the big boys at 18 years old. Almost 32 years later I’m still a very proud and active volunteer. Although I’m no longer an interior fireman, I am mainly a truck operator. Engine, Tanker, and Brush/crash truck. The fire department is my second family which I probably will be a part of for the rest of my life. It literally has helped shape me into the person I am today. Last Friday evening all the surrounding departments and ambulance organizations got together and formed a a parade of trucks and ambulances and did a drive by at the local hospital. When I came up to the ER and all the health care workers were outside I became overwhelmed with emotion. I was so god damn proud of everyone I couldn’t hold back the tears. As they now say “we are all in this together “ Thanks for reading and God Bless America!

4 points@WHX24 Well... sorta... I suggested to the mods that they get rid of my 4 for Friday post as it was redundant with same type post by @JCM... Me thinks something got crossed up with the 3 posts... So maybe we just jump to a “Whatever you got Weekly” post? just keep posting pictures and eventually it will be happy hour wherever you live... Here’s Saturday six... And who’s Sylvia?

4 pointsHey @D_Mac we could ask Rylee what brand it is! Looks like something she put together one time...

4 pointsThe carb would be a medium sized Flo-Jet. I've gotten a few from this place and been happy with them: https://isavetractors.com/carburetor-for-briggs-stratton-cast-iron-engines-medium-2-piece-flo-jet/ The more I see of how it was built the more amazed I am by it. It's an awesome little machine

4 pointsBeen doing quite a bit of research on blue birds. Several recommendations regarding the sparrows caught my attention. First one was to build houses without a "hole" but rather use a slot at the very top. Sparrows do not like that type of entrance and bluebirds do they say. Next it was to place box at 4 feet. Again saying sparrows like higher heights. I have mine at 6' now. One is occupied already but not the others. I might lower them. Then they recommend to cover hole in winter so sparrows don't use it for shelter since then they will claim it in the spring. I am on a mission here with these bluebirds.

4 pointsThe Speedex rear is just a huge differential with gears in it. Here's a picture of it out of the brochure for a 1630 model The T-96 trans. I believe was also used in the Shaw Du-All tractors. A quick google search for Alling-Landers shows they're still in business and they make gear reducers
-
4 pointsYea - I'm thinking you may want to invest in some type of top guard over the whole mess going on under the seat... Perhaps use a few old metal "mixed nut" cans...
-
4 pointsNailed it. I agree 100%. To me that's kind of like a miniature version of what we in New England Forest would call a doodlebug. Somebody would take an old vehicle like a one ton truck and get rid of the cab. Shorten it up. Wrap chains around the duels. Put a bunch of weight on it somewhere. Pull logs. Instant baby skidder. Something about a home-built skidder, tractor, doodlebug, whatever you want to call it. They have fascinated me to no end for as long as I can remember.

4 pointsKey to good alignment is that the triangle is in the right position, then correct problems in both ends from that starting point.

4 pointsHere is what i did for my rj58 most of it was done by a body shop but i did the transmission and motor. i sand blasted what i could then used oven cleaner and a wire brush. Don't use oven cleaner on aluminum it will eat it. But cast and sheet metal you will be good. Then wash if you used oven cleaner. Use a clean rag wipe down i used a coat of rustoleum grey primer 2 or 3 coats of rustoleum international red and 2 or 3 coats of clear coat.
