Sunday night my wife’s co-worker sent her a link for a Wheelhorse forsale that was only 34 minutes away from me. I looked at the second picture of it and knew right away it was a 633......I was missing the 633 from my collection. I messaged the guy and he said it was still available and he would call me in the morning. Sure enough he called me yesterday morning, I got his address and away we went. The gentleman told me that I was the 3rd person to message him but considering I told him that it was the 633 I was missing from my collection he chose ME to own it. I thanked him and handed him the $350 comes with its mower deck

Many of you have read about the rattle noise coming from My C-160 engine. It sits at 986 hrs. I got this tractor at 700 hrs.about 12 years ago and it was tired then. Smoked like crazy when I first started it but it cleared up. Been mowin and blowin with it ever since. got another engine from @richmondred01 3 or 4 years ago and put it on the shelf as insurance. Well time to cash that policy in! I had pulled the head and found some slop. Also look close at the piston by the exhaust valve. It's starting to deteriorate. I put this air cleaner wrap on last year after the show. Look at the GUNK!! First step wheel dollies so I can move the hydro around. I clean the engine often You can see all the gunk that came from oil mist from the breather making things sticky. New engine has a chipped pulley so I have to reuse the old one. Plus the PTO spacer is stuck so out comes the puller. Bad tooth removed. cleaned all the gunk from the frame. Here's an idea for @WHX24 and his A-81! With everything ripped apart, I decided to replace the steering block that has been broke since I got this tractor. somebody made a clever clamp setup that was still working to this day. I did see the block wiggle some so out it comes. My 12yr. old Napa drive belt still in fine shape! First start!! Still got a few adjustment to make under load cutting grass!!

We pulled the “foot rest” of a rusted solid deck off and scooched the seat up pretty far. I’m one burrito away from getting stuck on this thing! It’s a blustery day with wind and occasional snow flurries... Rylee was a tad bit cold. We decided that on a warmer day, Filly’s a perfect candidate for a nice long wet sanding!

Well, much progress on the project today. I figured out it does have brakes but the brake cable was broken. So I replaced the cable. Next I got the rear end up off the ground and tried to figure out the gear box. Got that figured out . Smaller lever to the outside is push it forward 1st gear, pull it back reverse. Inside taller lever, push it forward 3rd gear, pull it back 2nd. Next was... you guessed it..... jump on and see if it goes...... SUCCESS !!!! I cant believe its moving under its own power. Saved from the scrap yard !! I wish I had means to improve it further but I am happy I got it this far. I am going back to the gentleman I got it from. He also offered me a roller and a plow frame with a blade on it. I believe the plow fits this tractor. If it dosnt I am going to cut off those brackets someone welded on the tractor. Kind of hard to get on and off it with them on. Also there is no place to put your left foot when your on it.

Ok I'll play... Here's 2 future projects. And here's a couple nose to nose. Top pick is a 1974/5 c100 in the foreground, 856 roller behind it. My lower pick shows the Cinnamon Horse which is a 1974 c-160 and also Trina's Pig Pen tractor which is an 867.

I’m a new Wheel Horse owner, inheriting a well-cared-for tractor from my neighbor after he passed away. Now I’m cutting his widow’s grass and mine with a beautiful, old Wheel Horse. I’m wondering if y’all can help me identify the model (so that I can find the right manual). Also, maybe you could give me a tip on how to repair the part in the picture below? It seems to be some sort of bushing on the top of the blade deck that is coming loose from the housing.

Love that second picture, nothing like having a daughter and you have 2. My daughter has been dancing since 4 years old and now at 30 she teaches at 2 dance studios and works full time. She is pretty flexible like your daughters.

Rylee learned the value of a breaker bar changing her tires on Filly today. We put a set of 23x8.50 BFG’s on before a hot lap in the cold.

I'm running 4 onan engines over here. That one you have is brand new in comparison to mine. 3 of mine are from the mid 70's. I'd check to see if you have a stuck valve. They do collect a bit of stuff when running but yours are snow machines not cutting grass. Like someone else said check for mice nests. Pop the covers off check valve clearances an run some fresh oil with some k1 an mineral sprites in it. Run an hour and change oil. Love to hear an Onan sing.

The worst part about appliance repair is the time it takes to remove all the outside panels to get inside. Look for any lint build-up inside the dryer. Combustion air comes from the room and if the exhaust duct isn't tight you could get enough lint build-up to reduce the air flow. Most gas appliances have an "air proving" switch that will prevent the ignition from working without adequate air flow. A lint build-up could keep this switch from working.

To be honest, she was a bit irritated, by the quick, she get that Area.😂 Because of the Lockdown she was searching for sensefully things she can do, so she developed this idea. Kati plans to plant Veggies in high bed and in the Glasshouse and a walk from fence door to the glasshouse surrounded with Flowers for the bees.

The seat on my 520H is original and WELL used. But is in overall good shape. I did not want to buy a new one because well they are crazy expensive. Here is my steps for cleaning hope it can help someone out, I learned the process from a professional car detailer and have used it on my trucks for years. Note my tractor seat has some pine tree sap the I am still working out as I don't want to do anything to harsh on a 26 year old seat. 1. Remove loose dust and dirt with compressed air or dry brush. 2. Spray seat with mild detergent and work into the seat with gloved hands. 3. Remove detergent and dry seat off. 4. Liberally apply 3 in one leather care product to the seat and work into the seat with your hands. If you have highly soiled areas use a nylon brush to work those areas. 5. With a dry paper towel (shop rag) wipe the seat dry. Fold the paper towel over or use multiple towels for this step as the dirt and "butt" oils rise to the surface and you don't want to work them back into the seat. 6. Repeat step 4 and 5 until you are satisfied with the results. This is my seat after 2 applications, still needs a little work.

Just got my FAVORITE rag in the mail today, LGAT and just thumbing thru the pages to get to coverage and I find this. Our very own @Achto's rat rod! We hauled this thing out to the BS last June and well trained eyes in the form of Matt @grnlark Castagno spotted it as a center piece for a such a well written article. Dan says a big THANKS Matt! This tractor is always a show must have for Dan and gets looks....alot of looks. Too many as it would seem as youngsters want to play on it and pick the moss off much as Gretzki (his wife as I call her) would have done..oh no no no... patina. I remember one lad proclaiming at one show "daddy this tractor has grass growing on it, we need to mow it!" I think it was at Symco Dan I CRS but 'bout died laughing. Had another looking at it once and said why don't you sand...I stopped him short and threatened bodily harm. Since Dan is considered a regular at most of the shows we attend the Rat Rod is quite well known local and he, and I the few times I have run it, often get the flip up hand signal meaning do a wheelie. Unbelievable how people just love that! Now I had known about the Rat Fink caricatures for many years but never knew about the Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's creation of such a character that provided such a good humor to many sports & hobbies and it will be always a big part of Americana history. Thank you Matt for that tidbit of info. Many more pics and input to follow.....

I used to balance on those things. One time a guy I worked with couldn't get a lug on an F-150 to come loose. He tried the 1/2 inch impact, the 3/4 inch impact, the 1 inch impact, then he put all 350 lbs of himself on the end of a 3 foot Snappy breaker bar and we watched that thing flex. Eventually he just started tightening it until the stud broke off. Then there was this time:

That reminds me of when my sister started driving. Dad's one rule for us was that we had to know how to change our oil, and how to put the spare on in an emergency. My sister weighs about 95 lbs soaking wet, at 16 she was about 85 lbs. She came to me one day a few weeks before her license test and said she was afraid dad wasn't going to let her take the test because she couldn't change the tire because she couldn't get the lug nuts broken loose. I went up to Sears, bought her a deep socket and the longest breaker bar they had, took it home, set it on the lug nut for her, and told her "jump on it". Lug nut came loose.

If it happens this year it's in August the 7th to the 10th. I won't be there on the 10th. That tractor would fit right in. That's the best part. You get people stopping by and before you know it some one will know something about the transmission, the axle the hood who knows. I set up a canopy, a few chairs a few tractors and watch strange contraptions drive by.

@diesel cowboy had it right on the money. The hood is off a BONANZA lawn tractor. Same as mine but this hood lacks the round vent holes that mine has. Otherwise same grill and dash. Mine they moved the steering through the dash and not the top of the hood. Notice the pull cord through the dash. Speedex rear end and frame. Great eye Cowboy !

I have to laugh at both. I live in city have small yard that has zero use for a tractor so that leaves out the work part. Has far as a beauty queen ? In the eyes of the beholder I guess. Wish I had the skills to fabricate some foot pegs and some protective guards for it. There are alot of moving parts. Some in the area where you dont want moving parts if you know what I mean. @ebinmaine I dont have a YouTube account, heck I dont even have Facebook, or Twitter, none of that. Since I only come on here from my desk top computer I cant email videos cause they are to big, by the time I shorten them they are like 8 seconds. Guess I will stick with photos. Plan on going to get the plow this weekend. If it fits on this thing I guess I will change the tires and wheels on it. If you look close at the tractor you can see where the guy welded that bracket between the wheels. I cant see any purpose for it. Maybe its a bracket for the plow frame? He also has in the shed a piece of equipment that looks like you tow behind a Big Tractor. It has a seat on it and a bunch of levers and such, not sure what it does. He didnt know either. I cant haul it away but if I remember I will take a photo. Im sure someone will know what it is.

I brought a new fuel line and an inline bulb to be able to prime the pump - the fuel line on the machine looks ancient and is all cracked where it joins the carburettor.

It can be towed with a vehicle if need be. The above photo shows it on the front hitch of my old Land Rover. The eye hitch has now been replaced with a ball hitch coupling. Can be can be hitched to a horse. I knew you would ask and that's just what I was doing when you posted. Blade is about 30" diameter I think. I can still count to 21.

Thanks Kevin. That's my Scrap Yard Saw Bench. 1 scrap Liner sawbench minus engine. 1 Lister diesel engine received in return of some work. 2 Land Rover series hubs and wheels. Some scrap box section steel. No build thread. Photo's taken during a service after 4yrs work. Bracket for the screw jack got bent a while ago, so off with that to replace with a mk2 version. This photo is when it was just finished.

Fully fired after a long winter’s slumber! I’ve picked a couple sets for her to choose from for the time being. When Rylee finishes her school work, we’ll swap some tires and do some hot laps!

Wheel Horses were great tractors but their paint jobs were not good and the other thing I have observed is the welding sometimes left a lot to be desired....
  41. 3 points
I have undeniably knowledge of the process involved in painting these tractors from a source that was there. The 5 step process was as the parts came down the assembly line the paint guy sitting would stand up take 2 steps over to get the spray gun then take 2 steps back and spray the parts. Than 1 step to sit back down. Not one of my wheelhorse tractors has primer on them.

Some day when yer all caught up on projects Dan I got a mess of them rods you can do!
  44. 3 points
I used ends similar to those recently to repair a set of tie rods. I cut the bad ends off from the stock tie rods, turned them down to 3/8", then threaded them to 3/8- 24. Finished product.

Ya I second that.....right into my lake...I'll do it for you. They get a bad rap because they require some maintenance. Guy's are not used to that anymore. Keep them clean, check an change oil, adjust valves every 18 months. Those engines will run circles around a V. The torque they produce is excellent. Just think of the flat plane engines, they are in super-cars. I grab every one that I come across. Ya parts are getting hard to find, but they are still out there. Take the time to get to know one, you will be better off from the experience.

HAHAHAHA Step 1 5 Stages of washing, treated with a metallic phosphate 2 Powder paint electrostatically charged and applied to the hood 3 hood is baked in an oven at 360 degrees 4 Black Mask is added with specially formulated paint 5 Trim and decals are added before final assembly. Don't get mad at me , I am only the messenger. Watched a Three Stooges Short today, now that was some nonsense Craig !
