So, my good friend and neighbour is a big farmer. He has a bunch of cows grazing on our fields around the house, and then one day cow poo happened. They got out, and wandered into the garden. Moist soil, so giant fat bambi footprints all over. My friend immediately offered to pay for a redo of the lawn, but hey, why be an ass and say yes, when we can fix it without. I knew he had a big old roller sitting around. several actually, but one was more than enough for my plans. This roller weighs in at 2 ton or 4410 lbs to be exact. Or about 10-15 standard garden size rollers. That will put a squeeze on, and with a few passes it will smoothen things out to a pancake. it's about 40" diameter, and about 50" wide. Solid concrete with some steel in it. He then immediately offered me to borrow his smallest tractor to pull it around, but I figured I would let Baby have a go at it. I once tried that roller on a c120 in the past. that was not a success. It could barely move it, and had no control over it at all. The c120 did not have the weight nor the grip to do anything serious about it, but my good was I surprised by my custom C195. Baby did not just move it, it actually ran fine with it. It could steer, it could pull it up hill. Heck, it could even start it up hill on wet soil. towed it fine on loose granite chips too. I am so impressed by my little franken horse. It pulled this thing around the lawn for 7 full hours with not one single issue. It is scary good! I'm in love!! I am tempted to say that it tows almost as good as a sub compact. One problem with this setup is though, that it makes the one eyed franken horse look small---ish Yes, this is missus nut job having a bit of fun seat time too.

A year and a half ago, contractors were working in the field opposite me. They cut down some trees and just pushed them to the field edge. So today I fitted the tote box to the Sears/Roper, hitched up the trailer and went firewood gathering. Tomorrow I'll go for some more.

This is a side shot of the 417-8 when I brought her home, was never really a fan of the rear discharge decks because of the clippings that end up all over the rear rims and transaxle. I think this deck is a 1997 ? and removed it and stored it but is is exc cond.

I was given this press today. My father in-law was cleaning out his barn and “didn’t know what to do with this.” I hate when that happens! It is a manual lever operation with a ratcheting wheel. I’m sure with the right attachments, it could be used to pull as well, as the ratchet pawl is reversible. my first to do will be pressing apart some spindles!

Saved this poor old thing from the yard where it had been sitting for 30+ years. It is a ROOF brush cutter, built in Pontiac, Illinois. Sometime around the 50's, going by the Wisconsin engine. Was mostly frozen, but came free pretty easy since it seemed to have been totally doused in oil during it's life. In fact, even the crusty old Fairbanks external magneto came to life after a points cleaning.. Belted it up to the WorkHorse to crank it over faster than I could by hand.. after a few minutes running, it had plenty of compression and starts easily. Currently attempting to repair the cracked cast metal carb, and get the tank cleaned out. Figured you'd like some photos of the death-trap..

Saw this ad on Craigslist for 75 bucks. Not sure if its worth the trouble. I dont have the skills like most of you guys around here. Sure looks like a pretty cool tractor though. Can anyone identify it? The owner dosnt know what it is just wants it gone.

The dumpster that is. Some idiot threw this in the dumpster at my office. Whoever it was musta been an outboard freak as it was filled with lots of junk from boat motor repair. Very rusted but quite savable. Shoula took some before pics my bad. Had a nasty brush paint job. Blasted it and painted. Guy can't have too many tractors or tool boxes right? Left the dents in it for character and the handles untouched so the MN boys wouldn't be all over me for not staying original! Must be somewhat vintage the badging was actually metal! Off to the jungle site for drawer liner.

Today does not feel like Easter because of our current situation and the Weather was nice for us to get some seat time in,so with Patti on the C-120 and Myself on the 417 we did some spring clean-up before the rains tomorrow. I use the Tine Rake on the lawn but never on the Roadside so I thought I would try that out and pleased with the outcome. Last year I used a rake and for over 400' of road frontage that gets old quick. Also started the trail maintenance with the tine rake but that is a job for another weekend. It works extremely well picking up Pine needles as you can see by the pics. On another note I noticed a change in how people actually say Hi and wave going by when I was roadside whether they were walking or on bicycles, almost how it used to be in the old days, and I like that. Yesterday and today Trina and her mom and I spent most of both days putting up a 4 foot welded wire fence. We used a combination of standard production metal posts, live trees, and hemlock post from the area that we cleared that you can see in the video just behind the fence.

A friend of a friend was trying to sell this a while ago and asked me if I was interested. I really don’t need another tractor, with 18 (I think!) I’m basically out of indoor storage space so I passed on it. Well don’t you know I got a call yesterday and was told to come and get it! It was only about 5 miles away and when I got there the gentleman couldn’t have been nicer. He said he got it from a friend used it for a year and just purchased a zero turn mower so he didn’t need the 520. He told our mutual friend “Tell your buddy that collects these things to come and get it!” I basically tapped the key, it fired right up And I drove it up the ramps into my truck! I noticed chrome deck wheels which made me wonder if the deck was originally on an LSE? Everything appears to be working including a working hour meter with 1004 hrs. Not sure if someone left the key on because it doesn’t smoke on start up. It even has a foot control. Cosmetically it looks like crap but hey as they say “If it’s for free it’s for me!” I’m not even sure what I’m going to do with it, maybe give it to my son in law?

Ran across this on fleabay. I can’t believe another one has shown up wanting crazy money for a horse. Either we’ve all got a gold mine in our sheds and don’t know it, or these people have been smoking something way too strong! Dang, if this is true, I’ve got well over a $100,000 in horses just sitting in sheds! Seriously, what is leading people to believe their tractors are worth so much? Notice he’ll ship it for $20.95! For that price restoration, shipping, and the rest of the herd should come free! Have I missed another reality or restoration show in tv? Oh, if it’s yours, I don’t mean to offend you, just laughing my tail off!!

Well after starting on this project 6 years and 2 months ago I finally finished painting it today and have got the engine back in. Hopefully I can finish it up this week.

Sure is a good thing those eggs are colored at least you can find those!

I'm confident that it will free up eventually...just hope the cylinders aren't in too bad shape...I've been looking online and only found one place where you can buy sleeves for these old DCs...and it says call for price...my experience has always been if it says to call for the price its usually pretty steep lol. Did some more looking and research yesterday...its not as old as I originally thought...the 80 serial number, along with the foot clutch and Eagle Hitch pinpoint it to a 53 model.

well I am leaving now to go get it. hope i can get it into the back of my truck myself. No one going to try to talk me out of it huh?
