So it has been sort of pandemonium around here with closures and lack of supplies. Things such as hand sanitizer, soap, bleach , paper etc, no where to be found. On a lighter but serious note, I have notified all friends and acquaintances that I have here close to 50 gallons of 185 proof clear stuff. You can rub your hands with it and if things are stressing you out you can just take a swig of it and you will feel better. Just bring your own bottle or jar.

@D_Mac I noticed the new oil...thank you. I printed and read the pamphlet 4 times while familiarizing myself with all the gadgets on that little horse. I've got to put new batteries in my camera to take the videos. We are looking at 4 days of rain. I have to say, it is a riot to ride around on and it's got a great turning radius. The rubber mat is in the horse now and that is in good shape. It is easier to get on then to get off. I'm thrilled to have it, this is going to be a lot of fun.

After much debating, I have decided to build a two seater two steering wheel tractor for the kids and I to ride on around the yard and in parades and such. The shop I work at is still open, but business has been extremely slow the past week or so, so last night Krystopher and I loaded up the tractor and I took it to work with me. Have access to a welder over there so maybe I can make some progress on this during the slow time. My plan is to attach a wide bar across the seat spring on the rear, moving the driver's seat to the left side of the tractor, and adding another one for a passenger on the right side. Also planning on putting full running boards like on the newer models as well for more operator and passenger comfort. Where this is going to get tricky is in the steering. I've got a couple ideas of how to offset the steering system to the left side, but not sure how exactly I'm going to do that yet. Also thinking about rigging up a hand clutch in place of the existing foot pedal, might be easier for the boys to operate. Tractor currently has a 3.75 HP Briggs off an old gas powered air compressor on it, but that will probably get swapped out for a 6 HP Predator sometime in the future. If I get a chance tomorrow I'm going to try and make a video explaining what I want to do in detail to share with y'all

Well I'm sitting here outside my shop door in this 80° heat wave we're having and I look down and see this little guy sunning himself as I listen to mowers singing down the street. But no wheel horse is just zero turns one of them keeps making a popping noise. Anyway nice day to be outside!

Our dog Meeha/Mirror took us for a jaunt through the forest this evening. So peaceful. Here's a few pics and a couple videos. All of you watch them... Often. Over and over. It's good for you. And share with everyone you know. It's good for them too. Woodpecker drinking fountain A giant white pine Turkey tracks

Rylee says to me today... “We need some of those real little, fast Wheelhorses for me and Jada.” I respond, “Those ones with the engine right between your legs? We have two of them. I bought them at last year’s Big Show.” She was lost... and confused at the same time. First, I showed her @stevebo / @Brennanbo’s and @BHunter / @D_Hunter‘s hot rod Suburbans. She said “Yeah, like those!” I then showed her our RJ-58’s and explained that they’ve been waiting for her and her sister to work on them. She’s chompin’ at the bit to get going on them,.. NOW! I didn’t realize until now, Steve and Brennan’s has a modern two piece transmission. One of ours has a completely gutted trans, the one from @953 nut has a complete trans. I might end up better off building an adapter like @Lane Ranger has!

First off I would change the oil in the engine. After that you only need 4 things to run - fuel, air, compression, & spark. Check to see if you have spark. Clean the entire fuel system, some times Tecumseh carbs can be finicky some members from here have had luck with the $35 carbs from Ebay. After you have it running then I would move on to checking out the rest of the tractor. Just for reference your tractor is a 1962 model 502

All you need is right here. Does look to be complete and original aside from the air cleaner and throttle cable missing. 502 owners will be along to welcome and offer advise. First thing would be to get it running and go from there.

I went out and had a nice day on the REO...did a couple of videos, but the batteries are in need of replacement. I will do them again with new batteries. Anyway, I filled up the gas tank...checked the oil...looked over all the controls...2 pulls and it was running sweet. Here is a few pictures of me on this...we had a 60 F day today.

Hello all, I have owned this wheelhorse tractor since I was 5 years old. My grandfather bought this as a kit and we built it together. Unfortunately my grandfather passed a few years later taking his knowledge about this tractor with him. I need help getting this thing running again. I'm not sure on where I can buy parts, I have the original owners manual floating around somewhere but any tips or advice on where I should get started or certain questions I should be asking would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Several Day‘s ago i reworked my tiller, to use it on my Horse on the rear. The first row i tilled was a great Success, but in middle of the Second row i heard a loud „ploink“ sound and the Tiller stops moving. I see a bigger Rock under the soil, that ain‘t easy to remove, but i’m sure it causes the Damage. I guessed the chain maybe is riped, because the big pulley moves easily and the hackstars can be rotated, but had a slightly scratching noise, like a chain jumps over a sprocket. To clear now finally i disassembled the whole Tiller to find out what‘s happen, my biggest fight until now was to pull the Hackstars, they aren‘t willing to remove. They be rusted for eternity, but i wan‘t destroy them. i try Heat, but they still stay‘s where they are, even the Lockbolt, couldn‘t be moved or removed. to go ahead, i drill out the Lockbolts to release the hackstars in hope on removing but - nothing, the Hackstars still stay. I decide this are Anti Christ and i must deal with the given situation. So i cleaned the whole Case from Soil and dirt and opened the Chaincase. My thoughts are confirmed, the Chain is riped. ok, that could be fixed hopefully simple, pullout the chain and clean it.. The Chain is well greased and in a real good shape, measuring shows there is not much Wear on. Even the sprockets are in good shape, so just order a Chainlock and i’m good to go. That must be a brutforce, not the Belt was damaged, no - the Chain rips... Hard to believe, but Now i‘m sure i just need a Chainlock to fix that 👍

just had anew ascent tankless coil boiler installed today , replacing the old burnham that i had installed 33 years ago . https://energykinetics.com/ascent-combi-boiler/ like very quiet thunder , super efficient, plate heat exchanger , also added a stainless titanium flue insert . they used a " lectro truck power lift " to install it and stair walked it down. i remember installing the old unit , using my car to drag it up the stairs ! my days of doing anything and everything are gone, i have a limit as to what i take on , and keep it simple. that lectro power lift , walked the stairs and lifted the new burner up to the rear deck , like it was not even there . keeping up with the times , pete

I totally agree with that. Been experimenting over the years with different designs so as to avoid them falling apart. Learned that the biggest factor is the roof. I know build them with large overhangs so water does not go into sides or floor. I also now dress up roofs with copper flashing so they are totally impervious to water. I usually build them out of scraps preferably cedar when I have it. This is the design I most have had success with. Not the correct type for some birds but I am now experimenting with a different design for bluebirds.

I love my front end loader and it is a great attachment, but it has its limitations. There is no way a loader on a light weight garden tractor will dig into virgin soil like a large tractor. With my GT-14 if I want to remove some soil from one place and fill another the first thing I need to do is use the moldboard plow to break it free and allow it the opportunity to dry out. My GT-14 had some wheel spin until I added tire chains, 90 pounds of wheel weights on each side, loaded the tires with 12 gallons (about 100 pounds each) of RV Antifreeze and built a weight box filled with rocks and chain. Now it has so much traction that it will stall the engine rather than spin tires. Side benefit is a good deal greater stability when the bucket is raised.

Kevin , Yes I think this two piece transmission plate idea is a way to make your three piece transmission model Wheel Horse come alive again if your three piece transmission fails. Will require modification of the clutch rod but a neat idea! Rodney Burger now has this in Florida as I have it to him. He has several Suburban tractors and some may need a better transmission.

I use to be a hacker. I have since grown up a bit. Got kicked out of school 3 days for it. I hacked the local schools computers many years ago. Anyways what i like to do now is hack the hackers and bombard them with crap emails and harass them while they are hacking. I overwhelmed a person a few months ago they stopped. I bet i actually over whelmed the device they were using to hack. The folks who do this bad voodoo need to get out of there moms basement and go get dam jobs! LOL

Just wait until you look underneath and see the belt system. That will sure make you scratch your head. I would hate to try and replace any of those belts ( knock wood ). I was going to sharpen the blades on it but never got around to it. Might be something you want to do. Other then that I cant think of anything it needs. Look forward to the videos !

Thank you ! Since the dmv is closed I won’t be able to get my permit for a while. Pretty disappointing but oh well. Yes, I used to have a 1960s international harvester. It ended being in too bad shape to salvage so I parted it out. I recently bought a 95 dodge Cummins. It’s not really what I was looking for but I will be able to haul some tractors so I am happy !

In 1978 instead of mounting the engines directly to the frame they were mounted to a cradle (steel plate). That cradle was mounted to the frame using 4 rubber mounts to reduce vibration.

I’ll need to add the weight box yet, but for now it works just dandy. I need to thank Rylee for her help and guest appearance in the video!

@stevasaurus It Fits like a glove ! Before my cancer I was 6'5 345 lbs and I rode that thing up and down my street. After all my surgeries and treatments I am still 6'5 but now down to 260lbs. If I fit on there anyone can. It is a great runner. Besides the tranny being repaired the carb was cleaned and rebuilt, also new fuel lines. Has new oil in as well. Sits so low to the ground you dont have to worry about tipping it ! I see the rubber mat hasnt been reinstalled. It was wiped down with boiled linseed oil last year. Finish is all original except for the carb. That thing brought a smile to my face every time I looked at it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Where do we see these videos?
