7 pointsJust wanted to share the progress and details of the devastation that has hit our city here in Tennessee. Nashville has seen its share of disasters In the recent years. With the great flood of 2010 which l had a big part in the community and now with the recent chaos to the Tornado in 1998 down town. I Just heard that there was a total of 10 reported tornadoes in and around Nashville on Tuesday. We are truly the volunteer state. People helping people and this makes us Tennessee strong!!

6 pointsReworked today finaly the turn plow for my Horse. a quick reuse of the changable front lift cylinder, i have moved to rear, give me the ability to lift the plow easily forceless by hydraulic. I love my Hydraulic possibilities, that make attachements handling much more easy. and after final mounting except paintjob, i did a first „test plow day“ myself. I try to plow 5 times the rows, each plow a bit deeper because of missing weight on the Rear axle. becomes too muddy to work seriously because on the beginning the soil was wet and muddy, and the deeper ground was harder than the top. so it want diggin that deep into soil, otherwise it lifts the back of my Horse, but with bit more Weight on the rear, it seems it will work.

5 pointsHere you go @WHX24 I threw a 2” blanket of refractory insulation into the chamber and lined it with a couple pieces of 1/8” plate. The amber color of the sap is from the sugar content raising JUST FROM reverse osmosis.

4 pointsHey there, I’m new to the group but was told this was the place to learn all about wheel horses and to talk to some cool, knowledgeable, wheel horse lovers. I got into these tractors because my grandfather was a die hard fan, and when I was younger I loved to tinker with them. I have a 1986 312-8 that is my toy, it’s on bigger mud tires and has a 14 hp predator engine on it. I use it to pull a trailer around my property. I also have a 1989 416-8 that I just required to run a front blade attachment.
-
4 pointsSo this map,e syrup machine was dubbed the “ManTucket Syrup Factory.” Simple way put, you sometimes need to put your manhood behind you to stand next to it! This refractory blanket is amazing. Very little wood is bringing 3” of sap to full boil in very little time! It’s barely warm to the touch. I’ve got a feeling that between the RO system, the 100 additional taps, better insulation and a better finishing filtration system, this season might just be a bit more successful than years past!

4 pointsAt next full moon, run naked round an oak tree at midnight. Thrice clockwise, then thrice anticlockwise. Flagellating yourself with a birch branch.

4 pointsHad to do some concrete chipping and hammer drilling today at a construction site that doesn’t have power nearby yet. These little generators are so awesome because you can literally drive right up to where you need to work and the 14 horse Kohler uses almost no gas at half throttle and that’s all you need to power a couple of appliances off the generator.

4 pointsThe 312-8 i restored for my son Used rustoleum Regal Red with hardener, clearcoat and Terry's wonderful patriotic decals to top it off. He's used it as his weekly mower and it has held up great.

3 pointsWell, add a little surge be gone and this is what you get! I put on a new $50 carb from flebay and off she went. Pretty darn smooth now! Nice smooth idle. Now, on with the rest...

3 pointsWHIMP! I sheared one of those roll pins off with a 20 lb. puller and a 24" Crescent wrench!
-
3 pointsHere’s our new tubing, spiles and tees. This tubing us super tough, even a challenge to press onto the barbs! It’s only 3/16” ID and is supposed to fill better, creating a better vacuum on a gravity based setup. There’s a pretty good hill here where many of the untapped maples are. The blank post on the tee is a plug, for sealing off at the end of a run. Sorry y’all, they didn’t have Regal Red tubing!

3 pointsThanks @dells68 for considering me one of the guys at first I was a little insulted 🤣 but now I am honored see you in June!!!🤪

3 pointsI think that might be for another forum! Too much info and an man can never unlearn what he hears or unsee what he sees!
-
3 pointsI like your reasoning and its probably my best bet getting the tinkerer in me to shut up and stop taking things unnecessarily too far. And your rites of passage checklist, I have two of the three completed. Hitch pin and hubs I've tackled already. If I complete the steering wheel trifecta do I have to perform some ritual to truly be one with my ?

3 pointsNo restorations in this set of pics, but the first day we got the “new” tractors running together in late June of 2018. Some pretty strong candidates for biggest smiles, in proportion to head size at least

3 pointsHome Swet Home!. Made it home about 6 pm. 1786 miles. Makes me reconsider drive to the Big Show one of these years. Of course if when I do that I,ll make sure to have a driver or two to trade off with.

3 pointsMy first Horse- a 100% worker. IH2150 polyurethane, Wimbledon white poly on the wheels. Threw in a couple closeups of the red over red oxide 'patina', RJ hood decals, 60s style belt cover decals. Wanted to make it look more like an older horse, howd I do?
-
3 pointsThis 953 now belongs to @pullstart (or should I say it belongs to his daughters?) They have named it "Hot Wheels" and I am glad to see them enjoying it so much. Here is the only Before picture I have of it. Picked it up on and made a street rod themed out of it. Kevin and his family have given it a good home and it is getting more seat time than I had given it in years.

2 pointsThe wife wanted a herb garden this year and now it's time to start harvesting and drying some of her herbs. This gave me a chance to do a little smithing. First a loop, this was done cold. Then welded together. Then I bent up some links. Raw finished product. Finish was done by heating the metal red hot & then rubbing it with bee's wax. Then add some S hooks for holding the bundles of herbs while they dry.

2 pointsNice haul there, Jennifer. Just one thing. I think you need to invest in some extra ratchet straps. Better than rope IMO.
-
2 pointsSure can... wanna see the " innards" ? My buddy did most of the work. I just mainly passed him the tools.Second photo you caan see the broken fork and the new replacement.

2 pointsDrain the transmission and let the oil be your gage. If it is dark black or brown, and the axles don't have much movement, don't split it. If it is milky gray or significant water or clumps come out, or the axles move more than a 32nd, split it. Wheelhorse Rites of Passage: Remove steering wheel roll pin and wheel Removing Transmission axle hubs Removing rust frozen rear hitch pin.
-
2 pointsYah the last one I tackled was 'roomed out on one side but the right punch and a BFH I got lucky on the good side. So yer sayin EB you have not yet fulfilled the rites of passage to real () manhood?!?! If it makes you sleep better at nite Mower split the cases for inspection. It's not like you can't get parts should you need and we know guys who can help with problems. The the only issue might be the difficulty getting the hubs off.

2 pointsThe blades on a gear drive deck are supposed to be at ninety degrees to each other. If you remove one of the sindles and turn it to 90 you should be good.
