10 pointsBeen hearing those voices for the last few days. Not for a WH this time but went and looked at some stuff and there was a Roof Palimino there.

9 pointsTwo frames have become one... for now. I’ll cut them back apart near the front and Z a piece in for a 4” rise,

7 pointsThis the best place on the web. I joined after my dad passed and I inherited his tractors in 2012 and have been here ever since. I now have my own small collection. It’s great to keep busy and get your mind off of other things. I have met online and in person some great friends. Darb, I know what the hernia stuff is like as I had two of them in my teen years. Not fun. As Red Green says....” I’m pulling for you.... we’re all in this together”

6 pointsI started a "nontraditional" paint job on a today. The yellow shroud on the trouble light makes it look a little orange but it should have an even better bling factor in the sun light. A close up kinda shows the metallic content in the paint.

6 pointsYou got a good dog, and a Wheel Horse and a roof over both, your doing better than some, hang in there my friend.

5 pointsAnd I still had some daylight left, so I did the thing that really sold me on this trailer. After I looked at the ad a few times I realized that I could swap the fenders side to side and change their angle a little bit and they would look like airplane wings. Once that thought hit me I knew it was a done deal. I've still got to add some more bracing, but I really like the look. After I bought it I actually found that some were installed like this at the factory.

5 pointsKnowing I wanted to haul my tractor on this I knew it would need an axle upgrade and I knew it was getting 12" wheels and tires. Another factor in upgrading the wheels and tires was that the wheels that came on it are spindle mount and that means flat tires are a pain to deal with. A move to hubs with lugs studs and nuts was in order. I wanted the radius of the tires to measure the same as the radius of the fenders, so the first thing I did was measure it and found that it was nearly identical to a 5.30-12. I ordered the wheels, tires and an axle kit online. My goal today was to get the axle welded up and ready to mount, but that went better than I expected and I ended up getting a lot more done than I planned on. Here it is with the axle, wheels and tires installed. Based on the measurements I had originally taken of the tires that came on it, I was thinking that I may have to mount the axle above the leaf springs instead of below it like the original to keep it from being too tall. I ended up not having to do that. The board holding the tongue up in the pics is pretty close to the height of the hitch on our lowest truck that would ever likely pull this, so you can see in the first post that the trailer really needed to be higher so it would ride level. It's almost perfectly level with the new axle and rolling stock.

5 pointsAnd... with bridges...and tractor frames...that weight is dynamic, changing with the distribution, vehicle speed and direction / distribution of the weight load... (And although most of the time wind speed doesn’t impact our ‘s like it does a bridge, you never know with one of @pullstart‘s creations...)

5 pointsI did an Google search on where to buy Incredible Pink near me and it told me Victoria's Secret. I did not know they carried cleaning products!

5 pointsSitting, feeling sorry for myself recuperating from hernia surgery, and living with multiple sclerosis that has drastically changed my life, I thought I would see what was happening on this forum. I do that a few times a day very good therapy, helps me forget about all my troubles for a while. Learn lots about red tractors and about life. 12 Horse my life started much different than yours, I was a very good athlete, arrogant beyond measure, football and baseball. Baseball being my best sport, scholarship out of high school, messed that up, need not go into detail. married my high school sweet heart, best thing I have ever done, thirty five years in july. I would not be here today with out her. I had a good job, worked every second I was a wake, to make or save a buck. To say MS has humbled me would be a understatement, I have been on disability retirement sense june of 2017. I have had a lot of time to think about thing's, good and bad, sometimes I get in my truck and drive around and scream at the top of my lungs, I'm frustrated, I don't feel like a man. Then I get mad at myself for being such a baby. Sometimes the screaming helps, sometimes it don't. I don't know what tomorrow will bring, if I wake up alive I will try to do my best. I will tell my wife that I love her as she leaves for work. I will get a coffee then check out this forum. Good dog and a red tractor, 12Horse with them and this forum, utopia is in your future. God bless!!

5 pointsStarted putting a face lift on the old girl. The factory paint is pretty crappy. Do they all peel or just the ones that I have ?

5 pointsI got out today to go for a ride around the property and to pick up trash that was thrown out by some foolish..... well.... you know ,anyway the old seat from the 520 I had on it finally broke. I've been trying to save my pristine seat that was on this tractor so I opted out for this one which was off one of my chargers which is grounded right now.

4 pointsA little over a week ago this little trailer popped up on Facebook Marketplace and after about 5 minutes of debate I decided to pick it up. I figure it will be perfect to haul my 552 around and then pull behind the 552 if I go to a show or something. When I picked it up it had air in the tires and seemed OK. That changed when I got about a mile away from the guy's house and the thing started getting squirrely as the air pressure dropped. I ended up being able to go about 20 mph on flat tires all the way home in 50 mph zones. Fun stuff. At least traffic was light.

4 pointsThis is usually the only reason that I watch/record the Super Bowl. If you record the event, you can "fast forward to the commercials" (Why does that sound weird? ) Any way you can watch the commercials at your leisure.

4 pointsA good running 314-8 is well worth three hundred dollars, don't insult the current owner low balling. Feel him out, saving twenty five dollars not worth missing out on a nice tractor.

4 pointsLast night after welding, then scraping junk, then letting it cool, I placed it on the floor of the shop. It is quite twisty, but has virtually zero deflection from my weight directly over the welded section bouncing on it. My structural integrity is key and I want it to be able to move a bit, but I know it needs more bracing than a conventional frame. I have some 3/16” thick angle that’ll be triangulated some how to help this monster stay true. Also, corner to corner I’m within 1/16” of square. I bet a factory frame was within that ballpark too!

3 points@Stepney Brought this little engine to me a few months ago. On paper rated at 1.5HP. It's an 8 cubic inch so it likely has more. Thinking of throwing together a military tribute tractor at some point. Mid 60s short frame gear drive. Thoughts, comments, questions?
-
3 pointsIt would probably have been fine with a tractor, but it may haul heavier things from time to time as well. I wanted to get away from the spindle mount wheels and stamped steel axle anyway, so I was replacing all of that and upgrading didn't cost much more. I put a 2,000 lb axle under it and even though I doubt I will ever haul that much on it, there's no sense not making everything capable of handling that. I really wanted a 1,000 or 1,200 lb axle, but the larger one didn't cost any more.
-
3 pointsI've got lots more work to do on this, but it will be a while before I get around to it. I just wanted to share this while it was fresh in my mind. Future plans include getting the wheels powder coated to match my tractor wheels, lengthening the bed about 6"-8" to better fit the tractor, changing out the tongue for a piece of 2x3 steel (it is a cheapo piece of stamped steel and is a little twisted now), upgrading to a 2" ball, converting to a tilt bed, and adding some lights. I am also considering narrowing it several inches. It is currently 59-3/4" wide at the fenders and I've got 60" between the side of my house and the neighbor's fence. I'd like it to fit between there a little more easily. I need to do some more work on the tractor first and get my tow bar built before I finish this, but now I can at least get it across town at a reasonable speed.

3 pointsGood topic! But I don’t watch football so this will most likely be my only post here

3 pointsGreat pics and write upsThe throttle shaft on Big Oly is as loose as @WHX24's wallet at a tractor show. It's my plow tractor and with winter still here I didn't want to mess with it. but I have another carb I think was originally on Skonk that will be going on the 953 so whilst waiting for the Super Bowl I decided to get it ready in case I needed to do a swap in the middle of a storm. (I did rebuild a Chevy Vega carb outside at night during a lake effect squall in my college days but that's another story) After soaking in Gunk, a session in the ultrasonic was completed and it was time for repair tool of choice the Dremel The hole in this carb isn't bad but enough to fix After dremeling ,another session in the ultra sonic I drive the bushings in with a 1/4" socket I use a dab of grease on the screwdriver and green sleeve and bearing retainer on the screws Ready for work. When I yank the 953 carb off, I'm going to try the vibrating tumbler method on the carb body.

3 points@Stepney was nice enough to stop by and visit with us. We tore into the 8 speed I'll be using in the project. It's the one of the three 8 speeds I have that already has visible badly damaged axle keyways. I'm using axles that were generously offered by @19richie66 from a GT14. The GT14 axles are approximately 6" total wider than the C-series this transmission came out of. The dish of the 15" wheels are an inch or so deeper so... the tractor will be 4" wider than a standard size C-series, give or take... The internals look good. No visible excess wear. I'll double check the wheel bearings, install 4 new seals and clean/reassemble. At the lower left of the pic you can see the C-series axle beside the GT14 axle for a length comparison.

3 pointsThanks for all the info. I asked for a few more pictures and no response yet but I did say i would take it. Being sold as is for 150 with a deck. Here is a better picture

2 pointsI started messing around with the 2nd C-120 Auto I have. I am not really sure what my future plans are for it. For now I just want to get it back up and running. It has been sitting for more than 12 years not running. Just for the heck of it, I put a battery in it after I knew the motor was free and it popped right off with a shot of gas to the carb. I had to laugh at that one. The other C-120 fought me hard to get it to start. One thing I found is that all of the safety switches on this one are bypassed. I know it has a blown head gasket, so that will probably be first on the list. All of the fuel lines are rotten and need replaced too. One other thing I found was that even with the manual bypass "Push Valve" turned to the open position, the transmission will not free wheel. Does anyone have any experience with what would cause that? The push valve screw on my other C-120 is stuck and I can't even turn it to try and open it.

2 pointsI may not be, or ever be, an epert WH man like so many of you here. And thats ok. I may never even 'know' WHs like y'all. But i know a great place...and PEOPLE...when i see them; God puts them in front of me. And i have found all that and more here. I wont go into details yet, and in fact, involved parties might say im putting the cart b4 the horse with this post. But i dont think so. Even if things dont go as planned or hoped...an act of kindness...an expression of willingness to help a stranger...yes, me...has me feeling humbled...and grateful...for this place. And those that make it up. And i just want you all to know what a wonderful thing you all have created, with site. I truly thank every one of you for letting me be a part of it. God Bless every one of you.

2 pointsBlack plastic tanks are not ABS. They are HDPE (high density polyethylene). They cannot be glued. Plastic welding is the only way to make a repair.

2 pointsWhen I built my plough/dozer blade that's all I did. Just two sections of flat bar. Didn't have a piece long enough for a full width one.

2 pointsGod has truly blessed all of us in ways we take for granted. Sharing the love we have been shown is one of the commandments that should be a part of daily life. The fact that little red tractors have brought us together just provides another opportunity to share our blessings.
