Pulled the little Lawn Ranger out of the dark recesses of the barn this weekend. Had it started on the 3rd pull after putting in fresh gas in the empty tank. Hadn't been started in 2 years. I must have gotten some looks while I was mowing the lawn lol. This old Tall guy on that small tractor.

Take a two week vacation on the coast and walk barefoot in the salty surf for a couple hours every day. It clears your toenails and your mind. Worked or me. Seriously, I also am on cholesterol meds and can not take the internal meds to cure the fungus. I have tried all the over the counter acids, and have found salt water soaking does better. The problem is finding the time to soakem, Hence, the beach vacation. Oh, BTW, we do not want pictures.

I can believe that you have never heard of a C-101 walk behind, it is an "ULTRA RARE model". I'm glad that they left the deck attached. I adjusted the rear wheels on the deck all of the way down & used it as a dolly to push the tractor around.

Back to school sales begin, and I start packing for my trip to Disney World when all the kids are supposed to be back in school. The Maryland State Fair begins, maple trees are turning, grass is needing cut fewer times, my closest non-ethanol gas station is filling their tanks with all three grades, the local farm markets have more apple products, the "pick-your-own-strawberry" signs are being replaced by "pick-your-own-pumpkins", and I've gotten the bug to clean out and drywall my garage before bad weather, then I'm gonna build a new tractor building...we'll see how that goes. Other than that, I can't think of anything.

Zach was really excited to take the tape off as soon as it was painted by I convinced him to wait at least till the paint was dried to the touch. Before going any further, I’ll catalog as promised some of the changes I came across. 1.) the M16 engine shroud is wider to the carb side of the engine by about .75”. This necessitated a spacer be put between the throttle linkage and the engine block I’m pointing to the bushing I added with the sharpie marker. I also had to use a 2.25” bolt to hold on the assembly. 2.) There was no hole in the engine shroud for the far right linkage. I made some comparative measurements from the old K321 and drilled a 5/16” hole. Then I used JB weld to place a .25” nut on the inside. 3.) the stationary engine had a different style of top shrouding and I had to roll bend that down to fit around the starter side of the engine. 4.) my particular carb has the choke lever on the opposite side of the WH engine and so it will require changing the routing some but I don’t think I’ll need to change the cable (more later on that) 5.)I had to remove any bracketry and additional wire from the stationary setup that won’t be needed on the GT-14. 6.) Switched over the “velocity stack” from the K321 to this engine, moving the Air Cleaner to the factory location. 7.) Built a new support bracket for the underside of the velocity stack since the engine shroud casting dimensions are different on the two engines 8.) changed out the PCV breather plate with a spare I had since this one had a drilled hole in it for the tube to the air cleaner base plate Zach and I discussed it and decided on a polished aluminum “velocity stack” since that looks pretty cool! Then it was time to prep, prime, and paint the main shroud which we elected to do in Red. It looks sweet to see the red against the black and silver. It will keep with the theme of the rest of the tractor. I also painted the inside cover of the aircleaner red for the time being. Once I get my hands on a chrome cover, that will be installed, until then—open element! Zach is really getting excited about being able to drive and use his tractor again (I won’t lie—I am too😁) after about 2 years of inactivity. I hope this engine runs as good as it looks. If it does, Zach will have a hardworking tractor all through his childhood and right into his teen years...

It does Kev. Thanks. Believe it or not it burns gasoline not peanuts. But wouldn't that be cool. Price wise... Let's see... Initial investment for the trailer with engine and generator all in and connected. $4. Yes, 4. I couldn't get it in the U-Haul when we picked up the rest of the stuff at the auction so I had to make a separate trip. Gas money? I don't know. Ten bucks. I bought a coil. $20. Rebuild kit and an air filter. $30.?. Two spark plugs from stock and I made new spark plug wires from stock. If I had to buy them. $20? So that comes out to about $84 I guess.

So I finally scored on a blackhood. . Lord only knows where the rest of the tractor is! One of the reasons, aside of dealing with dad and the honeydo list, I couldn't make it to the MN show was a WH auction to beat all others. This guy was obviously a D-250 fan as ther was five of them to be had. Two were runners but definitely needed love. The other three might have been savable but??? Thing is this auction had other horses up but most in questionable shape. I was only interested in a C160 that was beat up and another 1067 that ran and the only thing it at going for it was the cigar lighter was ther and Gen light in good shape. Actually ther was a few blackhoods ther that tempted me but all had cobbled transplants. Like I need another project! Best thing was parts so that where my money went. Parts were stacked on pallets and went for 15 or less a pallet! Stirrups, idlers, hitches, hubs, trannies you name it! I now have a enough mule drives to put @Ed Kennell out of business! Just to give you 250 fans an idea ther was a pallet of three tillers for 5 bucks A pallet of two sno blowers for 10 bucks Hugh decks for 250s for 5 bucks Un believable deals for 250 fans as they couldn'tgive the stuff away I did manage to score on another older swisher for @Achto for cheap and parts galone for mid sixties tractors. Sorry for not many pics but this auctneer did fly like the wind. Interesting thing about this particular auction is that guys were buying a pallet of parts for say 15 for just for one part that was on it. When asked if other stuff was for sale or trade on another pallet they just said take it I don't want it! I came away with the hoods just cause I told the guy I wouldn't let them go to scrap.

Hello all, You guys probably saw my post about the minty 15/38 I picked up. I liked it for a "little guy" but really didnt know what I was going to do with it. Offered it to a few older members that might appreciate the step thru design but they all declined. Then today... one of the guys at work was saying his grand daughter likes to drive his J.D. garden tractor (???? model)... so he went out and bought a used second J.D. 130 for her but it was too big. It has a 23 Kohler, 48" deck and a Tough Torg "h.d." model 57 hydro. He said he wasnt into it for much ($400)... so I started thinking and offered the 15/38 as a straight up trade and he took it. Introducing our latest member to realise ANY Wheel Horse beats a J.D.!! Lol... Her name is Macy and shes gonna be 6 soon... Grandpa John is going to pull deck off and put a block on brake pedal. I think it went to the right home where it will bring her a ton of happy seat time. Tony Sorry @wallfish @Sparky you dont get to see Tony driving it at Zagray... but maybe you'll see Macy

It’s a rainy day and I was waiting for parts for the vehicle in the shop, so I did some playing around with sickle mower parts! I don't yet have a set in stone game plan, but I need to clean all this stuff up anyways so a tear down is in good order.

Lens is an original in fair shape, one little crack not too bad though. 101 - the engine is free but missing the carb & points cover. Deck is in real good shape. 141 - the engine is tight & missing the air cleaner. Gonna see if I can get this one freed up & running this week end.

Hey Ed, remember. We moved last year into our new home right across the street from the beach. I am now like a beach bum. Sandals or barefoot walking through the water. Fishing, soaking up the sun in a beach chair. So in a way I been doing the salt water thing. Dont worry, no pictures. I promise, its just a little sliver of a line. I want to get the jump on it. I might put my foot on the Wilton vice, try the angle grinder. Lol, It is realxing by the water. Glenn

@posifour11 I refrained from looking at this thread, in fear of a Cher moment! Though I’m with Craig, I can’t imagine only picking two, I would go for the cool factor of a Senior (lever steer or not) and an RJ-35. Also a 953, 1045, 502, and a Raider 12 most likely. Plus a 701, another 502, 1054, GT-14, C-160, and anything else I could get on the truck in less than 20 trips. They’d need to be decked out with chains, ground engaging attachments and a @buckrancher stainless deck for each.

Ed is absolutely correct. Back in the old days and still today ,here that is how that particular ailment was treated along with some others. People will even bring a five gallon bucket of sea water so they can soak their toes in it. It works. Prior to modern medicine it was remedies such as those that were used . There is now scientific proof that many of them work as described.

Bolted. For the very reason you elude to...! I also have both hitch pins secured as well to keep them from popping out unexpectedly... Actually both work great as a barrow with the tongue acting as the “handle”... My test crew is already asking for another trailer!!!

Well I recently spent some time up in Alexandria Bay in the 1000 islands. Went up from the 17th to the 23rd. Well I was up there I met up with a guy in Ogdensburg, which is about another 30 minutes north. But the end result is this new piece of wall art. Got to build a new box for it and I'll be all set! I put a couple LED strips underneath it to get a idea of what it will look like. I will have to clean it up a little more and get a light setup figured out to spread the light a bit more even through out the sign. But either way a 6ft x 2 ft dealer sign is a cool score in my book.

I suppose the 700 is perceived as a week link, but in dealing with the age of the machines you can be never sure. I looked back though some project pics and found the only difference is in the hydro control lever arrangement. No big deal just one is on of the pivot the other on the right but hooks right up. If your not using the hydro lift, you will have to take one of the hoses from the valve bank and run it to the pump to eliminate the hydro valve. The rest should be the same, bolt it up, hook up the brake, use the same belt, adjust and let r eat. 700 linkage 1100 linkage

If I could find a way..... Bonus internet points for anyone who gets that! I'd go for a C-160/61 and a super C! I'd love to have any of the D series, but I've sadly learned of their downfalls. Just my 1.3 cents.
