I purchased D160 ,it is decent shape. I am starting the tear down this weekend. I have a friend out here with machine shop which I will have new rollers made for the mower deck. I'm going powder coat the machine. This is going to a fun project.

Hi folks, so good to be back. While building a new house, I've been living in the mountains of Blue Ridge GA, with no TV, no computer access and not a whole lot of sunshine. Now, finally, we are in the new house in Gilmer County GA and have all the luxuries we have done without for the last eight months (about). I've been checking out the site here and find that it is still the same friendly place it was before, with a few new folks. I'm glad to be back and look forward to visiting with y'all as often as possible.

I've owned hundreds of tractors, including Toro Wheel Horses, even REO Wheel Horses! But this is my first real one, and I love it. It's a 1979 C-161, 91-16K801. Runs and drives great, and the hydraulics work well. I have a small engine repair shop/mower and tractor salvage yard, and it's still busy this season - looking forward to some time to spend with my new acquisitions when things slow down! Probably not a full resto for this guy, but want get him as fit as possible, and do some work with him! In the meantime, I'm hoping to find an owners manual for the tractor, and any manuals for the FEL, it's # is 97-40FL01. I found a great service manual on this site, but couldn't find owners manuals. I also picked up a cute little 854 and a rough B series, more pics to come. Looking forward to learning and sharing on this site! Thanks in advance for any help with manuals.

Took a 155 mile trip to Kingston NY to pick up this today....it's a 2011 Suzuki Vstrom with only 4500 miles. Now to plan a road trip ! Mike.....

A friend of mine tells me to take a walk to the parts barn down in the back of the show. So hear I am wondering why? We get to the parts table he pushes a few air filter & parts over that is burying a piece of paper . The paper is an ad for a 420-LSE with 140 hours & that never mowed lawn! I said to Bill no way I am getting this the guy prolly wants upwards of 5-6k. So I call the gentlemen and he finally calls me back around 7:30 Friday night @ the show and we come to an agreement on the figure o had the wheels spinning out of the show just 45 minutes north and here she is after 10 hours of cleaning and polishing! Trailer pictures out on the way back the other are after cleaning .

I picked up a plow and frame from fun engineer. A gift of an input shaft from Terry m. A seat spring, pedal, and footrest from Red Horse 54. A tiller bracket, idler pulley, and belt guard as well as a gift of an input shaft from dclarke. A gift hood from Squonk. A mower deck from casual observer. A seat cover from Mrs. Buckrancher. Thank you each and every one. I also picked up a seat pan with spring and a home made mower deck for parts and of course some other little goodies.

Leisure can also include the odd spin around the neighborhood

Sounds like Red Square needs a fall show

All these ideas sound fun, but how long do they take? There is only so much time to do and see everything that is there as it is. With hundreds of tractors to see, barns and tents full of parts vendors and tractors to pick through, friends to meet and talk with, scheduled WHCC parades which can last hours, pictures, food, not to mention those of us who are selling products, I don't see where there is enough time to get involved in another planned event. This is why all the talk over the years of doing "something" never comes to pass. Just my worth.

Not uncommon at all to have that oil sensor to come apart and scatter pieces all over. The last two Mag 16's I did had them scattered everywhere in them. I myself do not put them back in. They are nice in the fact that they won't let you start a motor that's low on oil, but the risk of them coming apart is not worth it to me. There again I always check oil before starting at the beginning of the chore to be done with the tractor and after every restart during a job. Maybe over kill on checking but cheaper and less time consuming then a rebuild.

This horse is Scott's. This was taken at the 2010 Charlott, Mich. show. I am not sure Scott owns this anymore, but it sure was nice. There are 2 more batteries under the seat.

Hey Everyone! I know I talked with quite a few of you at the big show regarding this tractor and I want to share it with you that weren't there to see it! I am so happy to have this thing it's crazy! This 753 has the HY-2 Hydraulics on it and I have had people tell me that there is no way the 753 came original with the HY-2 and it should be a HY-3 and I have a mismatch of parts....well if that the case I would argue that the dealer that sold this tractor did the mismatching because the patina of the hydraulics matches the rest of the tractor...anyway. I have seen a few 753's with the HY-2. It also has what is left of HL-22 lights. I can see a place on the right side of the tractor where the light switch bracket was bolted. Don't know if I want to try and locate HL-22 lights or weld up the holes and forget it. It has the 702 switch bracket on it that i will probably eliminate and put the push button and switch where they are supposed to go on the left side of the tractor. The tractor runs but not great...needs a little electrical work done and it smokes on start up pretty good. I found a shield at the show for the hydraulic unit and got an original air cleaner assembly for it as well. Initially i want to get this thing running good and mow some grass with it. I know the deck isn't original but when I restore it I will probably get rid of the deck anyway. I have never had a roundhood like this as I have only had small RJ's and Suburbans. Look it over and let me know if there is anything else I'm missing! I'm excited about this restoration! Mike

I picked up a belt guard for my 854, and a set of rims and tires from Howard (857horse) ags for the rear and I put tri ribs on the front. Before the show I got a stack muffler for it and installed a replica set of headlights. Jo, buckranchers wife made the seat cover. She's looking sexy!

If it is a "K" series take the balance gears out. I always have. If it is a Magnum 14 or 16 according to Brian Millers web site they should be left in due to fact that the crank had lighter counter balance on it. The balance gears compensate for the lighter crank. If left out the motor will vibrate terribly. Now with all that said. I left them out of a 16 Mag and had very little if any change in vibration. Now I just rebuilt a 14 mag left them out and had such a vibration I thought it would break something. It was a ultra sonic high vibration. I rebuilt the balance gears new bearing, spacers and put them back in. Problem solved. Miller was not kidding when he said it can cause problems on the 14 and 16 Mags. I'll leave them out on the K's but never again on the big Mags. Made a believer out of me and I am anti balance gears.

It's looking more and more to me like the Big Show needs to be a week long event. Now my daughter, her husband, and the two grandkids want to rent a motorhome and attend their first big show next year. It sure would be nice to have a few extra days there to enjoy being around you guys and get some rest in between searching for parts and Tractors.

7-1-1984 PG-13 rating debuts On this day in 1984, the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), which oversees the voluntary rating system for movies, introduces a new rating, PG-13. The MPAA, which was founded in 1922 as a trade group representing the American film industry, announced its first rating system on November 1, 1968, in response to groups seeking better guidelines to help parents determine whether or not a movie was child-appropriate. Jack Valenti, a former assistant to President Lyndon Johnson and the president of the MPAA from 1966 to 2004, was instrumental in developing the new rating system in conjunction with the National Association of Theatre Owners and the International Film Importers & Distributors of America. The initial rating categories were G (appropriate for all ages), M (for mature audiences, but all ages admitted), R (persons under 16 not admitted without an accompanying adult) and X (no one under 17 admitted). The M category was eventually changed to PG (parental guidance suggested), the R age limit was raised to 17 and on July 1, 1984, the PG-13 category was added to indicate film content with a “higher level of intensity.” According to the MPAA, the content of a PG-13 film “may be inappropriate for a children under 13 years old” and “may contain very strong language, nudity (non-explicit), strong, mildly bloody violence or mild drug content.” On August 10, 1983, the action film Red Dawn, starring Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen, became the first-ever PG-13 movie to be released in theaters. Starting in 1990, every film given an R rating also received a short explanation as to whether it contained violence, drug use, nudity or hard language. This policy was later expanded to PG and PG-13 movies. Additionally, the X rating was changed to NC-17 (anyone 17 and under not admitted) because it was believed that “X” had come to connote pornography.

Hello Everyone and thank you for your patience and kind words! Nancy just sent her write up about her experience with -not this particular D-200- but it turns out this tractor model is very near and dear to her heart because it was the very first tractor she sold- which is why she refers to it fondly as her tractor! There is no doubt that Bob Rock has a perfect D-200 - and seeing Nancy's smile and learning about her tractor was one of the hilights of the Big Show! I don't recall off hand, but didn't the 100-series rear-engine riders use 4" front wheels? Chrome wheel covers were standard on the top level 111-6. Steve

Your tractor is a 1965, 8=8horse, 7=hydro, 5=1965. Couple questions. Is you relief valve closed? It's located on the left side under the seat just ahead of the tool box. Is your parking lever up? Is your belt slipping? Did you use the correct filter? Just some questions that can be over looked. Unfortunately after these questions I have to step down. I have not had to take a hydro apart so I'm not real familiar with the workings inside.

You will never regret your purchase. Just can't beat that factory like new look!
