This was a project I started over a year ago, but I never finished making a mount to the attach-a-matic. Looking thru the "junke" pile, The handle frame that was left from the MAD MAX tiller looked like a chipper mount. I had removed everything from the blown engine except the crankshaft and used it as a bearing block. I bolted a V pulley to the flywheel and removed the aluminum shear key and made a hardened steel key to strengthen the drive train. I seemed to work OK when I blocked it to the 875. This is the old tiller I converted to Mad Max. MAD MAX And now the Mad Chipper.

After 63 healthy years I thought I had a 48 hrs flu bug. Seems I get that every 4 or 5 yrs. No big deal, some Tylenol and extra blankets. Couple days later good to go. This time something seemed much different but being 1 year away from medicare I was not about to go to the er and as I have never had a Dr. I could not get an appointment in a timely manner. After 3 days of fever and severe chill, Lola made me go to what they call prompt care. Thank God I went. Got right in Sunday afternoon and 40 minutes later was diagnosed with pneumonia. I was shocked but if I had waited another day it would have been much worse. Probably hospitalization with no insurance. Affordable care act only works for us if we dont work. Great idea but it needs fixed. Great Dr and very good experience. Except for the flu test where they shove a long wire so far up your nose that it feels like they are stabbing your brain. Not fun. So I am 3 days into the meds and finally am fever free for the most part and not coughing incessantly but sleepy, week and tired all the time. Hoping to stay awake to watch the Cubs game. GO CUBBIES! !! Good news is I will recover. Bad news is it will take another 5 days possibly. Got so tired of sleeping I decided to post my experience and let everyone know what's going on. Don't mess around with pneumonia or it will sneak up on you real quick. This is not sympathy ploy just shout out to the great folks at St Mary's prompt care. If you have no insurance this is the place to go when your sick. Terry

Hey guys! I have been here for a little while but didn't have a wheelhorse til today when a guy had one in the back of his barn for scrap! I was like hell no that ain't going to scrap! So I paid 40$ for it and he had all the manuals and the original sales receipt! It also has a snow blower and mower deck! And it's in really nice original condition! It doesn't run yet but I will get it there as I'm a k series fanatic and ALL of my garden tractors are Kohler k- series! I will include some photos and could anybody tell me the year of it? I think it's a 78 but reassure me on that! Pictures to follow, it's also a Hilo 4 speed 8 speeds

Had pneumonia years back, sick time policy at work was ridiculous, so I went in until I couldn't stand it any more. Company Quack said I had a cold, get back to work! Went to the ER and was admitted for three days followed by a week of rest time. Then I was reprimanded for excessive use of sick time.

OK, I think that this video is your best one yet...and the other 2 were mighty good. This one got even better after a couple shots of Jack. I thought we were going down the mountain side once or twice. That Kohler still sounds good at Warp 2 Scotty.

I got the 119 inch belt today. And even though everything is damp from rain, I had to see if it would do the trick. It works well. To be 100 percent perfect I would need a torch to heat the mule shaft and bend it about 10 degrees. Otherwise the belt stayed on and deck cuts well. The angle of the flat pulley may lead to some belt wear but I am happy with buying an occasional belt if need be. The resurrection of Lazarus is finito! Until next year:-)

Here is a video of me loading some of the firewood. Due to circumstances beyond my control, it rained all day before I started this, so I made a little mud. All in a day's work, I guess. I would have moved that big'en, but he was already where he needed to be.

I bought this tractor last fall at an auction thinking I would resell it. And I have sold the cab and the deck. But I was so impressed with its snow plowing this winter, now I will keep it for my primary mower and snow plower. The only problem ...I can't deal with the hand motion control. Luckily this one has the lever on the console so it makes it an easy conversion to a foot control like my 520H blower. I changed the ZEE slot to a straight slot , remover the spring that pulls the lever right, and bent the lever to vertical. I do not recommend this to anyone, but I removed the neutral position switch and connected the wiring to the parking brake instead. Now, to start the tractor, you must be in the seat and have the parking brake engaged, which forces the motion control to neutral. IMO, this is a safer starting lock out system than the original factory system. I am also considering wiring the seat and parking brake switches in parallel so if you leave the seat, you must engage the parking brake first to keep the tractor running. Anyway, that's where I am so far. I still need to make some connections from the lever to the foot pedal. I must say though, the mods I have made to the hand control make this tractor so much easier and smoother to drive and change direction with the hand control, I probably wouldn't add the foot pedal for mowing, but I want a free hand to operate the lift when snow plowing.

Only time will tell. I don't think the twisting will have much affect on the belt life. My concern was the rubbing and the resulting heat at the crossover. So that is why I added the separator. That is a piece of SST tubing spinning on a greased bolt. There is not much side load on the tubing as the belt puts the same force on both sides and both sides spin the tubing in the same direction. I did consider an idler pulley on the return side of the belt to keep them separated. If this one fails we'll go to plan B.

I highly recommend the pneumonia and shingles vaccines for all us "old guys..and gals". It's a couple hundred bucks, but a good investment. Glad you caught it in time Terry.

Thank God that you caught it in time and you had great caregivers. That's nothing to mess with anytime but especially as we get older. Take care of yourself and get back to 100% soon.

About 100 acres of river bottom land. The majority of which are turned up on the edge - as in "Steep as a hog's face" hillsides. I have about 20-30 acres of flat land.

4-26-1984 Reagan visits China On this day in 1984, President Ronald Reagan arrives in China for a diplomatic meeting with Chinese President Li Xiannian. The trip marked the second time a U.S. president had traveled to China since President Richard Nixon’s historic trip in 1972. First lady Nancy Reagan accompanied her husband to China, along with approximately 600 journalists, a slew of Secret Service agents and, according to BBC reports, officials who guard the codes for launching nuclear missiles. The Reagans toured historical and cultural sites in Beijing and attended a dinner in their honor hosted by Xiannian. Reagan’s trip highlighted his administration’s desire to improve diplomacy with China in light of the growing economic relationship between the two nations. Other topics of discussion between the two leaders over the course of the six-day trip included the development of commercial nuclear power in China and China’s displeasure with continuing U.S. support for nationalists in Taiwan. After communists took over power in China in 1949, successive American presidents had refused to recognize the new Chinese government and supported pro-democratic nationalists who had been exiled on the island of Taiwan, off the coast of China. U.S. support for Taiwan included sales of arms, which infuriated the communist government in Beijing. President Nixon made tentative diplomatic overtures to China in 1969 and, in October 1970, told a Time reporter if there’s anything I want to do before I die it’s go to China. In 1971, he led the U.S. government in officially recognizing the communist Chinese government and became the first American president to visit China the next year. It was not until 1984 that another president, Reagan, would travel to China in an attempt to resolve remaining diplomatic differences. During his visit, President Reagan impressed reporters and dignitaries with his occasional attempts to speak Chinese. However, the trip failed to break through the deadlock between China and the U.S. over the issue of Taiwanese independence.

This road was built back in the late 1970s on the mountain behind my house. It was used as a core drilling road. The wood I rolled off the mountain is below this road and I couldn't get to it with any machinery besides my 4 wheeler. This road now has trees grown up int it, in addition to some rocks and dirt slide off the bank onto the road. Now that I have access to my late father in law's Case tractor, I can use it to pull firewood out of the woods on this road. Of course, I don't want to damage the Case, so I took the Wheelhorse out to work the road. I needed to move sharp rocks, trees, and whatever else might bust a tire on the Case. I think the rear tires on that thing are just under $1,000.00 each. That's my story anyway. Actually, I just like to grade a road, make that any road, with the Wheelhorse. And this is a compilation of 3 or 4 different road grading excursions. I speeded it up quite a bit, so it wouldn't be to long. I have worked about 1/2 a mile of the road that is on my property. After I filmed all this, I went back with the chain saw and cut some of the trees that would get in the way of the Case. This coming weekend I may film a ride over the road on the ATV and show the results of all this grading. It looks pretty good now, to hear me tell it. And if any of you have ever pulled logs, you know that they have a tendency to grade the road themselves.

Got home from work tonight and the wife and I decided we would go for a ride...so she hopped on her Commando and I hopped on the 1277 and away we went. We just pulled out onto the road and I challenged her to a friendly bet on a race (of which I pulled away from her pretty easily lol) when all of a sudden mine started cutting out and finally just died. Tried for a good fifteen minutes to get it started with no luck...acted like it was not getting any fuel so my first thought was fuel pump quit. Had Katy pull me back to the house and removed the fuel line...plenty of fuel...so put it back on and it finally started but ran rough. Guess I'll order a kit for it tomorrow and see if that helps. On the bright side I did get pictures of all three of them together and a better one of Katy with her Commando, which of course she had to rub it in to me about pulling me home

.Ed, Haven't seen a belt arrangement like that except for long flat leather belts. How long do you think that the drive belt will last? I have thought about having a tractor mounted chipper but the engine turns the wrong way for most.Never thought about what you have discovered.Love the out of the box thinking! Thanks guys, I ordered my steering pinion gear......its from a 702 so that would seamingly fit without issue. I am gonna resolve myself to say its a early 753, as that seems the most likely. As for the other items (dash and starter tins) i know are around and easily picked up as the season goes by.This will be something to drive around at shows while I am finishing up the restore on my 1960 400. Maybe at a later dateI can make everything correct and repaint. Thanks again for all the help/input!!

We had a feathered spectator during the championship game of the tournament we hosted this weekend. Look closely where the tall trees start on the left. The nest is in the large tree to the right. Zoomed in 14x. BTW, the boys played some great baseball to win their second tournament this year.
