5 pointsThe day started out early ... just as the sun rose I was out working on my eh trailer.... have to be prepared when you venture into the territory of the he who dominates the WH market in this area ... a while back after talking with Geno about some other parts - he got to talking with me about a 520h he had .. it wasn't in the best shape but is mechanically sound - however he wanted to pull the motor for another tractor he had. A deal was struck ... I had a new project tractor - what that project is, I'm not saying yet So i've ventured to the dragons lair with my B80 & Plow (needed to try a NOS part to see if it would work before duplication) AND a 520H for a upcoming project... I know how ya'll want picture(s) .... (no comments about my 25.00 trailer please ... it'll get some TLC over the next few months Thanks Geno!! Appreciate the tractor and the time relaxing in your shop ... looking forward to the 6th!

4 pointsWell I seen this wheel horse from the road way back up by this guy's house. I tried the old envelope trick in the mailbox Friday I got surprise call from the guy who own it. He didn't know what model it was neither did I thought it was a classic 310 from a distance. It ended up being a 1989 wheel horse HC with a 60inch deck. Under 300 hours if the odometer if is working right. I had the poker face on a got a great deal on it! Stole it for the price I got it for!! I try to deal with him more on the John Deere 410 trying to show him more interest in that tractor lol. But at the end I wanted the 520HC. The tractor would stay out all winter but now it has a barn...520hc are rare around here....

3 pointsPicked this one up yesterday for a price I couldnt resist. I already own a MacKissic Mighty-Mac that I absolutely love, so I doubt that this one will ever replace that, but this one does share some similarities to the Mighty-Mac. Built 2 miles from my home, I havent (yet) been able to determine a manufacture date, but the motor (which appears to be the original) is 1967. Reasonably good condition and unmolested. Even the fuel lines on the engine have factory paint on them. My plan is to just lube her up, give the engine a little tickle up, and try her out against the MacKissic. Looks like I have thrown myself back into Tecumseh hell for a bit. Need to get this old POS to start in less than 20 pulls...

3 pointsWell, I finally got started on my project tractor (I have a name picked out but for now we'll just call it CLASSIFIED). I started with a L-155 lawn ranger frame and an 8 speed rear end. The transaxle was split, cleaned, I replaced one outer axle bearing and have new seals that will get installed before final assembly. Because this tractor is being fabricated with parts I had laying around, I thought It best to blast and prime parts before assembly, to keep things clean, then I will tear down, paint and reassemble. So here it is the start: I then took a hood stand/tunnel from a 1257 and decided to modify it so I can install a toolbox , Here is where the cutting begins of course I needed to shorten it Then to make the profile meet the toolbox Then I took the triangle pieces I cut off of the tunnel and welded them into the inside so I can achieve a factory look. and added the tab across the back of the tower so I can tie the tool box to the tower . of course I modified a stock gas tank dash to mount on top of the tower but I forgot to take pictures of that process so I will just take pics of It mounted when I am update my post. I have done some blasting of other parts to get things ready for the next stage, I will be working on the steering setup, I need to shorten a long frame fan gear to fit this short frame. along with moving the steering block back a couple inches. as you can see in the pictures I have moved the tower back further than the stock location, this of course will be to shoe-horn in a 14hp kohler that I will rebuild. I will be using a c- series axle, but I am on the hunt for a swept axle, unfortunately all are expensive, and I am wanting one cheap.

3 pointsA friend of mine bought this 310-8 last spring. I serviced it for him and did some work to it and the deck, and he used it all last summer with no problems. This morning there was a knock at my door, and it was my buddy, with the 310 on a trailer. He explains to me that he sold his property and no longer had need for the tractor. He told me to take it, pay him a little at a time. I got it, deck, snow blade, a tarp, and loading ramps for 200 bucks...delivered! Now that was a Sunday surprise!!! :-P

WNDU Channel 16 RacinBob Knows who I'm talking about ...Sports Anchor Jeff Jeffers (always be Leary of a guy with close to the same first and last name) anyways he runs his fat mouth and that's all you hear all week when they win on the News Irish This, Irish that. Its so one sided it makes me puke. Besides I will always pull for a Big 10 Team Especially a Lowly NW. ~Duke

2 pointsI bought a Wheel Horse thought to be assembled from inventory parts in 1974. The frame is solid so I began the Engine Cradle Installation, get all the fabrication done before the painting takes place!
-
2 pointsI was supposed to take a Pork Loin down and cook it for Geno and his hunting partner in crime .. but due to delays and half trailer troubles there wasn't enough time. So I cooked it today ... Pork Loins (they come two in a pack) with a dusting of my Dry Rub and Smoked over Natural Charcoal and Hickory... in 30 degree weather with Strong winds. Think it came out really good ... thought I would share ... FOOD PORN! For those who don't know ... the pink is the smoke ring.

2 pointsYesterday we got the power run from the house down to the barn. Per local code any line not buried the full 18" has to be covered with concrete. I was able to get that done (30 bags of concrete). I also cleaned up the inside a bit. It was a pure mess with sawdust and all sorts of stuff that needed cleaning. This week I hope to get some help getting the roof finished off for good. The stone mason is suppose to come this week to start the rock wall. The way that I plan on getting the tractors on and off the shelf is by using this lift. I got it from a buddy on a barter about 3 years ago in hopes that I would use it in the barn that I have been wanting to build. Well............ time has come. I was looking at a much larger lift that was portable as and that could lift a car about 5 ft in the air but the guy gave me a little bit of the run around. I think I am better off with the smaller one. The buddy I got it from had a D200 on it up in the air pretty high. It will lift the small ones with ease.

2 pointsBeen out most of the weekend, but managed to finish the handbrake. Pretty pleased with yet another reuse of a wheel horse part and it works perfectly Here it is off and on

2 pointsA little twist in order? Next question, "What Wheel Horses Geno doesn't have?" A $64,000.00 question!
-
2 pointsOnly one way to take care of that! I'm sure the ol' boy can figure that out with the painted shelving I've seen pictures of. I'm sure the walls are far behind maybe a lil' airbrushing say a Nice horsehead. Wheel Horse horsehead that is!! Oh by the way Geno, Nice score! Todd does have some nice tractors also. I like the roller

2 pointsBob, Dino is Not going to be happy at all but me I'm all good with that lose. I don't think my insurance guy will be though. He bleeds N.D. but there's nothing wrong with that. I'm a Hawkeye, I know alot of Dedicated O.S.U. fans right along with Michigan (Duke here's to your bye week). I think Dino just had a bad day when Illinois went down the tubes he kind of threw his hat or (fedora who knows) in the air and went I hear foot steps, who's that knocking at the door???

2 pointsInspections are a PITA but a good thing. Imagine if Karl was heading to the big show pulling his camper and the whole rear fell out. It would cost a lot more than it's going to cost now. If you don't have inspections in your state and you do your own work, Pay a shop an hour's labor and have your vehicle of choice put up on a hoist after it has aged a few years. you'll be doing yourself and others a huge favor.

2 points46,000 and hasn't missed a beat. Only thing I've been to the shop for is an oil change. Sorry boys, hate to bum you out. Craig, anybody can get a shot of a truck being towed yuc, yuc! I bet that was real hard to find. I'm sure I can posts all kinds of gmc, chevies, or dodges and tow trucks. Or even better I can post all kinds of pictures of Fords pulling chevies apart or vice a versa. Doesn't matter you like gmc's, Geno a chevy nut and I'm sure there's a dozen dodge owners that'll say my truck better than yours each has there own preference. Mike's is toyota. If anybody remembers someone (Ken B I believe) said something about Karl's truck pulling back thru the hills of New York or somewhere like that and said that they watched Karl work the hills and it was like No tomorrow as he pulled that truck and trailer thru the hills without very little effort. To me that's all Ford power. Personally myself I'm excited to see the New aluminum body when the New F-150 hit the street. In 2016 they are supposedly suppose to tranform the Super duty into aluminum and I'm most definitely interested in that!!! Sorry Pro Ford here guys, always have been, always will be. Let's get back to original post. Karl I'm hoping fo a repair bill of less than $750 Good luck Let us Know

2 pointsI hate Nebraska and like Wisc. but I picked the Corn**lers to try to make an upset move. But now I'm just upset.
-
2 pointsThe tranny oil is 'bout as ugly as I've seen. Someone didn't care one ioda! Taking exception to Geno's "clutter." How dare he call all the spare, engineered, parts 'n things "clutter." I prefer to call all the boxes of stuff "reserve", "inventory" or "on hand" thingys or whatchamacallits.
-
2 pointsI think everyone thought that one was a sure pick. Can't even blame it on the turnovers this week. Northwestern matched them on that one. That Nebraska game surprised me too. Not so much the winner but by the dominance of Wisconsin. My analysts are fired!
-
2 pointsWhen I made my picks, the northwestern game was not a concern for me this week. I thought I would get one right. They where 17 point underdogs. But NOOOO I can not pick a northwestern game to save my rear end. So with two games left all you guys have to do to get a northwestern game right is pick the team I don't.

2 pointsLike the guys say, get both springs replaced together...you won't regret it. I've been told a good spring shop can build those springs up on any size truck better than factory new....although its most likely a little more expensive. And I do believe that all trucks are nice these days....But I'm still a Ford guy my self. just bought my 5th ford truck with the ecoboost engine. out pulls my last f-150 that was equiped with a 5.4 v-8 Sorry,I know.... a little off topic
