7 pointshi men, here is a pic of a C-161. i bought it from another rs member last year.had a buddy do some paint and body work to the hood. new decals. did some odds and ends to the tractor. you can see i'm about to deliver it to my buddy harry. he is a long time friend, recently retired and needs to sit down and mow his lawn. hope you pic hounds like it thanks for looking. mike in mass.

6 pointsI think I'm going to have to go out and get some 'new' good shots ... I can't find the one I really want to submit of the B80 alongside the garden ... For now here's One that might be okay, and one that I'm sure isn't but I'm putting it up anyway because, well I miss her terribly and this picture will be going in the Shop when it's done ... my Mom on the B80, when we still lived in town... always supported my love of history, and all things WH ... right there along side helping and encouraging. 5 pointsSo on Saturday, it was an absolutely gorgeous day out, so I decided before it got any colder out, I should try to till the garden. I decided it was also a good opportunity to finally find out if the tiller I got with my D-250 worked. So with a little fighting, and help with my dad, we got the tiller onto the tractor! And boy was I surprised! It works really great! As I state in the video, it really makes a racket, though, which worries me a little bit. It probably needs a bearing or a couple haha, the tiller looks like it sat outside its whole life and probably hasn't been used in maybe 10 or so years. I did check for oil before I used it, and it did have oil in it, and I kept checking the tiller during use, and it did not get hot, and it seemed to quiet down the more I was using (maybe I was just getting used to it ), But without further adieu, here is a video of me using it! There is a pic at the end of the video that shows the end result of the garden. Oh, and Duane(baerpath), if you see this, thank you so much for the locking pin for the tiller, but as you can see, someone took it into their own hands to make that pin not necessary, and just welded the spot where the tiller falls out of the PTO extension. I wish I had known a little more about the tiller when I got that part from you! Enjoy everyone!

4 pointsWell as the title states, I have become a first time member to the super "c" club. Dad made a trip to pick up a new to him xi and I worked out a good deal, at least I thought it was for this C-195. I just brought it back to my place tonight. It needs a few little things and maybe some cosmetic work, but she will be a fine worker! Here it is at home. Need to put the pins back in to the 3-point arms.

4 points875 bought new by my dad and now mine. I learned to drive on this when I was in 6 th grade! Pop ran a Parker sweeper tow behind the rear discharge deck. Still used for mowing, No winter duty. It retires to the garage after fall leaf mulching. Nick P.

4 pointsWell maybe you bought something from a person known to the rest of us and it was a good deal. So the next guy comes up and says you stole that thing, I just bought one in bad condition and paid twice that. Or the deal was good and the other guy sold it because he was in a distressed situation and all you got it because that's all the money you could afford. Really, unless the buyer wants to tell you, which he will if it is what he wants to do, it is no one of anybody's business. A sale is between two or more folks and is usually private, especially when made between folks who are members of a group like this. Or maybe you bought it to do some minor repairs and then re-sell it. Say you found a 416-H for $200 and it had been sitting in a barn for the last five years. It not start and was covered with dirt. Of course the guy said it started and ran when it was last parked there. You bring it home, clean the carb, change the fuel line, put a battery in it and it runs great. Clean and polish and find a really beautiful machine. Now it's time to sell it. You already told everyone you only paid $200 for it. Human nature is such that most of us do not want to let a seller make a very large percentage profit, when we buy something. Why do most of us hate car dealers. Don't you feel like you have been raped when you buy a car from a dealer. Now If you bought something from persons unknown and got a great deal, and really want to brag about it, that's OK. No one knows the other guy and no harm. Or maybe you just don't care about the sellers feelings. I have bought things at a great price. When I want to I will put the price up there and brag a bit. But if I know or even think that someone might be embarrassed I keep my mouth shut. Common decency. I do believe it is not good form to ask someone what they paid for anything they buy. Of course I come from an age when these things were drummed into your head by your parents or in my case my Grandmother.

3 pointsI picked up a package of Simplicity Walk Behind equipment. Included were a nicely restored cultivator, a Brinly plow, and what I believe to be a Sears or Bolens snowthrower for a ride-on tractor. What I mainly was after, besides the tractor that has a reverse gear, was the 20" Brush and Log Saw. The tractor is a 1962 Model W which was the last in the line of models. It is equipped with a Briggs Model 19 7 1/4 hp engine. At the end in 1968 for walk behinds, the horsepower was bumped to 8 hp. The saw is what intrigued me. I will never use it as it is extremely dangerous. The user was to stand directly in front and feed logs into it with the cradle. I have checked the teeth for cracks and have not found any - but there are stories of them flying off like a bullet! It certainly is a conversation piece. It was also intended to be used horizontally to cut through "weed trees" close to the ground.

3 pointsSo Im not sure what to do now? I guess Im done for the winter. I really don't think I can fit anymore. However I still want another Blackhood and a couple RJ's. I think Im just going to have to get a storage unit and start putting them in there. This has really gotten out of control. I showed a co-worker this picture and she said " Oh AJ, you really have a problem".

3 pointsnice addition there Scott. one day i would like to become a member of the Super C club, but right now i have a hard enough time juggling the number of full size tractors i have now. i now see why some members only collect rj and suburban size tractors. the bigger ones take up a lot of room.

2 pointsIn the spirit of Halloween I thought I'd share the the facelift of my 1979 C-series something. She started life in 1979 as a C-111 with an 11hp B&S engine. Notice the cutout on the hood vertical for the Briggs air cleaner along with another cut out lower for a Kohler muffler. Now to clean everything up. First cut the vertical support in straight a line eliminating the previous cutouts drag out the hammer and dollies, straighten and re-paint. Next up I gave Terry a call and ordered the decals. Since it's now powered by a 10hp Kohler and a 1979 chassis I chose the C-101 decal set and they look great. Happy Halloween everybody!!

ALL of the tractors that everyone has posted is worthy of being in the Redsquare calendar. one reason why i want to do two different ones this year is so some of you guys with the older unrestored, workers, abandoned and rusty, barn dusty ones have just as much chance as the very nice restored ones. hey, i have a few shiny ones myself, but i will go down the garage and sit and stare at the original, surface rusted ones as well. i think they actually have more character!!!!! the deciding factor is going to be more about the creativity with the person behind the camera rather than the tractor itself being 'good enough'......

2 pointsThought I would post some recent photos. I am starting to run out of parts now and I think that is a good thing. Still thinking about rewiring everything. Anyone have any ideas on how to do that so it would look close as possible to original? Just finished painting the seat pan and I think that should just about finish the painting. I need to order some new knobs and such as well as new decals. Trying to spread out the purchases to keep my wife happy. She hasn't asked how much this has cost so far. I'm not really sure myself, probably don't want to know.

2 pointsOk. It is out! I drilled three holes down into the key, shot some PB down in there, and when I tapped on it (with a four pound sledge) from the wheel end it bent up and out of the keyway. It took everything I had yesterday (about an hour and a half), so I will work on the seals later this week.

2 pointsHi Scotty, No matter what you do, when your dealing with very viscous liquids, you will never get all the fluid out that went in it per the printed specs. Ever pour fairly viscous paint from one container to another? There is a lot left in the old container. Same is true with that gear oil and the more surfaces it coats, the more residual will be left in the transmission case. This is a good thing since that is one of the properties you want gear oil to do. Coat moving parts and stay in place! I seldom get much more than a quart of gear oil from my 8 speeds when I change them out which includes running them until the rear-end is warmed up and jacking the front-end in the air.

2 pointsWhen I bought this Horse the charging system didn't work. The original system was set up for the B&S single diode alternator output and magneto kill solenoid. Nothing was attached to the stator wires on the Kohler nor was any wiring connected to the ammeter. What wiring there was was a rats nest. A new rectifier/regulator, some wiring, a little loom work and everything cleaned right up and works just like it's supposed to. Oh and I had to add a main fuse and holder that were absent.
