7 pointsSo I finally got around to taking a couple of pictures of my new 603. This was a one owner tractor I picked up in Bay City, MI. Has both deck and push blade in very good condition. The gentleman that owned this lived on a small city lot and took very good care of it. I haven't had a chance yet to look it over or try to get it running yet. Here's a few pictures.

2 pointsWe just got in our new custom trailer yesterday that we are going to turn into a "Wheel Horse Hauler". This is going to be the small one, 6'4" x 12' dovetail with gate. Next spring we'll be doing a larger double axle one. It's already going to pick up 3 more tractors, 2 blowers, a cab, and other things tomorrow so we don't have time to do it all at once. We have already painted the hubs and wheels but that's all. We still have to paint the trailer red and stain the floor Ivory for starters, then the fun begins. More Wheel Horse logos than you have ever seen. I have a friend named Scot that has a Computerized plasma cutter so I called him this morning. He made me the 2 prototypes and had them here by lunch, pics are below. He is making 1/4" steel or stainless or who knows what yet horse heads and written logos for it. They will be recessed into the bed and be about 45" wide x 45" long. He is also doing the older italic Wheel Horse written emblem for below the head (pic is below) but it will be the text only, not the horse head. The smaller ones on here will be on the drop gate facing each other when done with the written logo in between. There's a lot more but you will see it as it is done. There is a poll to which horse head logo you guys think will look best. I had him cut each piece of the logo separate for easy painting and touch up. Each piece can be painted separately then screwed or Velcro attached into its recess. They can also be removed for repainting without taping. I'm gonna use this thing so it will get scratched up I'm sure. He just left here after making a couple of prototypes and said I could put a link to his website on here, there is nothing he can not do. It's all kinda fast but I hope to have him here as soon as next week as a supporter and vendor if the leadership here allows. Here is what he can do - http://www.phoenixcreativemetal.com/ Look through the gallery and you will be amazed. If you guys have any ideas for this please let me know! The construction will start next week.

2 pointsChip I called the guy last night, 1 hour after he posted it and somebody had beaten me to it. I wanted that thing bad. I have a 414 it would've nice to have a spare. My blade deck isn't in that good of shape anyway. Heck it might not have been much wrong with it. But thats me a day late and a dollar short

2 pointsModel # 73502 is a 1996 520H. I have a 1988 520H that I am reconditioning for snow blowing. One of the major problems with the Onan is keeping enough cooling air flowing across the back cylinder . Overheating is what causes the valve seats to loosen. You must keep the cooling fins clean of grass and oil. After removing all the tin and cleaning the fins, I have added a seal around the oil filter to stop the air leak and force more air across the rear cylinder. I have also vented the belt guard to increase the flow. The carb is very sensitive to dirt causing the engine to surge if it is not clean. The electrical system is also a source of problems. These are all problems that can be resolved. There are many threads on here detailing the process of correcting these problems. Right now, my 520 is the strongest horse in my herd and I can't wait to try it in the snow.

2 pointsYou better put a roll cage around that Wheel Horse mate. If Jeremy Clarkson from TopGear has taught us anything, it is that Reliants don't do anything well except roll over suddenly without warning.

1 pointTook a run to Rhode Island. What a home run. Shape is as near new as it gets. Here's some pics. Sorry didn't clean it.

1 pointMy wife and I love hiking and looking for remnants of old home sites in the park. We were hiking in an area this time that was told to us to be where Dolly Parton's parents and family had lived. We came across this old chimney There were some old pots in the chimney an old wash tub near a spring house and some other unidentifiable metal objects surrounding the area. I continued down the foot path looking for more artifacts and came within one step of stepping on this fellow. His head was facing the other direction until I backed away to a safe distance and began yelling for the wife to bring the camera.Thank goodness. Came across this interesting fungi. If I googled correctly this is called a stinkhorn. Thanks for looking Mark

1 pointThe previous owner died 6 years ago. The tractor was kept in a shed in the back yard and has not been run since. The pictures are just as it was when I picked it up. I haven't had a chance to clean it yet. Ive got to finish a couple projects before I can work on the horses. I've been finishing the drive and landscape around my new pole barn and cleaning some old growth white pine barn wood for finishing the interior.

1 pointPA is prime Wheel Horse country. If you can't find it there, it doesn't exist. We haul truck loads of tractors and implements out of your great state on a regular basis. Making a run there this weekend because couldn't find what I was looking for locally. Thank you!

1 pointThis is your lucky day! Your fuel pump has a primer built in to it, when it has been sitting for a while you just reach in and give the lever a couple of pulls and this will prime the fuel system. This kind of pump came on the pre 1966 and they are sort of hard to come by.

1 pointThose are great photos. We spent two weeks camping in the park many years ago. Lots of hikes and plenty of wildlife. Saw many bears during our stay but no snakes. One of the most beautiful areas of this country. One of my most memorable moments there was doing something very foolish. Stopped by the side of the road to take photos of a begging bear who would pop up when he heard a car approaching. Got out of the motorhome car and started tossing food to him or her and when we ran out of food the bear started to approach us. We ran like the wind and just made it in and closed the door in time. First thing the Rangers tell you when entering a campground is to leave the wildlife alone and never feed them. We were indeed foolish.

1 pointNot sure whether it's my son seeing my obsession and trying to please me, or his obsession. My 13 yr old sent me this the other day, he made me a special car on his racing game. it's pretty cool given its a racing game, not a graphics package!

1 pointI've had several very close encounters with rattlesnakes at our place in Virginia, and every single one of them has scared the absolute s**t out of me. I'm no naturalist by any means, but I understand we're now in the middle of what the locals call the dog days of summer, one effect of which is that rattlesnakes (and maybe other poisonous snakes as well?) develop a film over their eyes that makes it very difficult to see, so to protect themselves they'll strike at almost anything they can sense that moves near them. Be VERY careful. On a brighter note, it's funny to me how often you see chimneys still standing alone and tall in rural areas like these, with no visible means of support. I'm sure there's a joke that connects that observation to Dolly Parton, but I can't think of what it would be right now. Nice shroom.

1 pointI think they use these type plows for making a row to plant, and also (set much deeper) to dig potatoes.

1 pointMan looking through these pictures has got me pumped to get started on my 854! You guys are doing an an awesome job. If you know of one, I need a gas tank/dash assembly. Mine has a few cracks along the bottom that the previous owner tried to JB Weld and of course that didn't work out.

1 pointIt's great to see abandoned horses like that one restored. I'm all for saving that onan, great engines and you can't beat the power and sound of them. Keep us updated and post lots of pics!

1 pointA new shifter boot is also recommended it the transmission has been sitting. That's where water gets in. There are any number of threads here on RedSquare that explain the best method of draining and flushing your transmission if it has water in it.

1 pointUnder the seat there is a friction adjustment that could be set too tight. Also remove the panel between the seat and stearing column and check for debris and broken or worn parts. Also it is a good idea to lubricate all the linkages under the panel. If your motion control lever is near the steering wheel lubricate those joints as well.

1 pointWhen I got to the fellas home he had 4 xi tractors. If this snowblower was ever used I can't see it. Chute. Auger. Skid shoes. Etc. No paint missing. Funny how the mrs. And kids went to Canada and I found this. Lol He had a snow blade to. Left that there. Just wanted to share it with you guys. When I find a snow cab I will be complete.

1 pointThe least expensive switch is likely part # 103991 or an after-market equivalent just because it is so popular. Just use the M terminal for the ignition wire and G terminal for ground. Garry

1 pointWe stayed in a cabin this time. Great little place for a couple or a really close smaller family. It was one big room basically, with a small closet like room for the toilet. The shower was separate and you had to enter and exit into the main room. Normally we stayed at hotels because my wife's brother worked for Marriott and got us really good discounts. Mark

1 pointHi, Terry! I wondered if you were still on here. I remember the 122. There are parts from that on every Cub I have, even the Case.

1 pointTried all kinds of seats. Never found a "great" one. One day drivin' through the country found a wrecked Jazzy (?) trashed, at the curb. I stopped, took out some tools and removed the seat. Unfortunately the arm rests were trashed. This seat was gray, black now, Duplicolor vinyl and material paint. I had to drill mounting holes, easy enough. A comfy seat, covering comes off along with the padding for cleaning. Mounted on my 416-8. Seat folds down when not in use if you want to. Just push it down or raise it up.

1 pointYou can tell you all live in a Wheel Horse rich environment. Around here $300 would buy a non-running, rusty Wheel Horse maybe!

1 pointI don't know what country built the Coleman but I was pretty impressed when Craig whipped it out of the bag!
