Back in 1993, I purchased my first Wheel Horse, a 1977 B-100 8-speed. I bought it from the original owner. Today, 21 years later, almost to the day, I was sitting with my wife on the patio when a car pulled in the drive. My wife asked if I knew who it was. I said no. Then a gentleman got out and asked if I was the person who had bought a Wheel Horse tractor from a man over 20 years ago. I said yes I was. Then he introduced himself as the son of the original owner of my B-100, and believe it or not, his dad was in the car. His dad could no longer walk, but wanted to know if I still had the tractor. Well long story short, I said yes. I went and got the B-100 and brought it to his car so he could see it. His first comment was "I wish I had never sold that thing. That was the best tractor I ever had." So after a short conversation, he told me how that had been his second Wheel Horse, that a Lawn Ranger was his first. "Best damned tractors ever made" he continued. Then I went to the shed and brought out the other B-100, Commando 8, 701, 857, and C-120. His face lit up and he said, "well you sure caught the bug didn't you?" Turns out that his son also has a Wheel Horse. It's for sale. I don't know what it is because he couldn't remember the model number, but he knows it's a 14 HP 8-speed. I am going to look at it tomorrow. The sickness continues...

True happiness can be only be measured in the decibals of sound emitted from the exhaust of a Kohler Engine mounted on a Wheel Horse tractor! :-)

Well its just out of the shop for the first cruise around the yard. Pretty happy with it, overhauled the whole steering system including axle pivot pin. New piston, rings,rod, crank ground, and valve seats, three ribs on the front and the seat. What y'all think? Anybody got an earlier serial number? Hoping to see several of you at the Northeast Indiana Steam and Gas Association Show in Lagrange Indiana August 7th-10th Denise and I will be there with this 953 her Stitchin' Chic Cruiser and a few others. Hint hint , Horsefixer, Martin, Steveasauras, sousakerry, smoreau, Kelly, Perry and others I am sure I am forgetting.

We got this in at work. It has a stencil that reads: WAR FINISH AS DIRECTED BY ORDER L-108 UNITED STATES WAR PRODUCTION BOARD Which dates it to WW2. it is also stamped with U.S.N. 2G82A .

More options Finally the FEL 312 Hydro coming to the end.I paid $200 for the 312. All new fuel hoses and filter. Change all the fluids and tune up. New solenoid,key switch,light switch,rear lights and one front light. New tires in the rear and wider wheels in the front. Added weights front and rear. Heavy duty spindles added in the front. New forks.Painted everything. Works really good!!!

Hey Fellas.. i was bored here for a few days a go so ill went out to my shop.. to see if there was anything i could do LOL.. Hmm found some stuff.. then ill got the to make me a wheel horse sign. since i prolly never will find one here in norway. . so here are a few pict of what i did.. used as back side same stuff as they use in light sign (opalwhite cast acrylic) a board I cut slots in to acrylic stickers I had lying around that I put on then it was time to make a frame for it ... mounting the led light is about 240 of them Then it was time to try it and se how it worked.. wow it worked but the horse seems to be black.... well time to try it on the wall.. much better can se the horse head is RED but ill think it is a bit to bright.. well this was a test!! the bottom of the frame is bad so i have to make a new pice to put in there..but it light's up the shop really good..

Hi all, Picked up a c175 at an estate sale a couple of weeks ago. Has always been kept inside, and has 885 hrs. In really nice shape besides the hood, no rust pits, or dents in anything else. Runs perfect, and the hydro is good and strong. Was not running when i bought it, but just took a battery and a shot of starting fluid and it purred to life. Came with a blower, 48" deck, and weights/chains. The sale it was at was a really cool place. The guy used to run a wheel horse dealer, but sold all his stuff about 10 yrs ago, this was his personal tractor. He did still have a few engine parts left over that I picked up, but nothing really special. There were 3 barns packed with stuff, you could hardly walk through, it was fun to dig through everything. Anyways, here's my tractor, never thought I would buy a horse this new, but this one is a keeper and I really like it. It will be my new blower tractor. Someday I might even do a quick repaint on it, as it would be an easy one to do. Also, I believe it is brand new in this picture of it at the dealer....

Jason, I'm really not sure if we will be going this year. so many commitments right now. Jeanine is also traveling weekly for work to Nevada and Arizona, so i need to work out whats going on. i doubt we would be camping this year if we did go....... <<<<guess who?

Got to love the 854's! Good job with your determination to fix what needed fixing, but do like the way the original paint turned out. I may have to try that method on a future project. Keep up the good work! Dave

It got painted a flat machinery gray with a gold plaque. A guy bought it today so its going to new home.

Humm... I wonder if Terry could hook us up with some custom transparent vinyl overlays, so we could make our own signs too.

LARS: Did you put the wheel horse decal on the outside of the cast acrylic? Also what type of led lights did you use on your light? I am in the process of making my own out of an old small refrigerator door.

It should go under the fuel tank on the left side it you're sitting on the tractor. There should be 2 bolts that bolt it right under the dash panel assy to the side panel (right under the B 80 decal). It should extend to about the front of the fuel tank. You run your wires in this channel to the dash and it protects them.

The short answer is yes, each deck has it's own belt requirement.

Thank you, Glen UPDATE: July 28, Eric will be sending me his dash to reproduce, appears to be in especially good condition and looks like something I should be able to reproduce. It's very large, largest thing I've ever tried, probably take me 6 weeks to see if it is possible, cost will probably be about $30. Will be using a more stable black epoxy urethane resin, and make the Dash Panel a little thicker, but will look identical to original on face. Need to remove all the white paint first to get down to the base. Have not located a reasonably nice lower Shift Plate yet, still looking, will post progress here on Red Square as we go on Dash . . . Glen We do have the GT-14 Steering Wheel Center Insert now, one that will still allow the Wheel to flex but the insert will stay on, similar appearance to original (see Venders section).

Great looking set up bro! Nice job. I must comment again on the great looking fuel pump too....wow, a lot different from when I first saw it. Real cool!!

Installing an electric fuel pump (when the mechanical quit me) on my tiller tracor has helped with getting it going as well. Since I dont use this tractor as frequently I usually close the fuel valve and run the carb dry and the electric pump will fill the carb bowl back up in a few seconds when I need to get her going.

Very nice rig! If your going to use a loader, you need the heavy duty front spindles. really like the colors used too!

Finally got it done just need to finish the mower deck and I will be looking for another project again

Squonk, As a Bears fan living in Packerland, I must object to your video. It has been a hard decade. Many of us are also Cubs fans, making it a hard century. That video is just rubbing it in! Why can't we just bring back Eddie Lee Ivory and Lynn Dickey, and all get along?

That's a great deal for a working loader. The paint is the first thing to go once you start using it regularly. If you really hate the look, blast it with rattle can black a couple of times a year. It isn't worth the effort to do much more. If it is shiny, you aren't using it enough!

Very nice looking tractor Jake. I have a black hood myself and it used to be the black sheep of the family but the more I look at it the more I like it.

Alright, having a hard time finishing up all the little things on this one. residing the house and work is getting in the way of working on it. got a few hours this morning to finally get the dash all back together. i wanted all the fasteners to be 'hidden' on the dash so i powder coated all the screws matt black that hold it all together, also the nut that holds the ignition switch on and i found a boot to cover the light switch. i am happy, its the look i was after and all the decals blend with the black and i think it turned out great..... i also added a new throttle knob and slip over cover for the brake release....... thanks for all your extra time on the decals Terry, you gave me exactly the look i was after.....

Back in 2010, I went to the WHCC show and saw that lots of guys had name tags. So I found a vendor that was making name tags, badges and tractor plaques, and I had a nice name tag made. Well sometime between January of this year and the WHCC show I lost it. Hoping that the name tag guy would be there, I went to the show with high hopes of buying a new one. No name tag guy So after a little inquiring, I found that there had been a slight dust-up between the WHCC staff and the vendor, and subsequently he never returned. So my quest to find him ended last week when I did locate him. I think that they are under new management now, and there is a possibilty that they will be at the next show. But in the meantime, I invited him to join RedSquare, and if there is enough interest, he would like to become a vendor. Here is what I got from him.
