I have been planning a trip to the big show now for a couple of years & Now I am finally here in US. After a 17 hour journey from South West England , we have arrived in New York City . We checked into our hotel around 20 mins ago answered an email from Karl and we are just about ready to collapse form the journey . We plan to spend a few days in NYC to do some sightseeing then we will be traveling onto Conneticut to stay with Mike Martino for a few days then on Thursday I will be subjecting the US highways to some of my English driving . Knowing that you guys drive on the wrong side of the road over here & the steering wheel is also on the wrong side of the vehicle ,getting used to this change is gonna be quite interesting. I hope to post up a few pics of our visit so check in for regular updates. This pilot looking chap is the dude that is gonna be flying our plane

Amanda, One very important question to be asked before giving it a Yea or Nay would be “What do you expect to accomplish by the use of this product?†Experience tells me most expectations for “liquid fix†products fall into one of three very different categories. Scenario one. “I use it a few times a year as preventative medicine.†This, in my opinion, is the expectation held by the most informed user, folks who take one a day vitamins and 81mg aspirin. These users understand 50 year old gasoline engines will develop deposits in the combustion chamber and in the valve area. These users understand gradual varnish buildup takes place in the fuel delivery system as a natural aging process. These users understand small deposits are most easily resolved by fuel system cleaners WHEN THE DEPOSITS ARE IN THE EARLY STAGES OF THEIR DEVELOPMENT. I have been using this product for nearly 15 years and believe SeaFoam will perform admirably as a preventative added during regular fuel-ups. Scenario two. “I used it when I had a fuel problem and it didn’t do a $^#^ thing!†NOT EVERY ISSUE CAN BE CURED BY SEAFOAM. A worn out throttle shaft closely mimics varnished fuel passages in a carburetor.. SeaFoam cannot cure a worn throttle shaft, problems with corroded points or a problematic ignition coil. You may not have properly diagnosed this problem and used the wrong tool to attempt to correct your problem. However, Seafoam can function very nicely as an exclusionary diagnostic tool. Many talented automotive diagnosticians use products such as this to eliminate suspect areas of the fuel delivery system in cars. The SeaFoam treatment works wonders for diagnosing and correcting fuel injector delivery imbalance caused by buildups dissolvable by SeaFoam. Scanario three. “I used SeaFoam and it caused a whole bunch of other issues.†I’m guessing these engines and fuel systems were what I call TW’s. “train wrecksâ€. Problems just waiting to happen. 20 plus year old fuel lines, brittle fuel pump check valves and years of tarnish, bugs, and trash in the fuel tank. Adding (or probably overloading) the fuel with Seafoam breaks off large chucks of varnish, bugs and debris and clogs your fuel filter or maybe even your carb passages. Dam#^$% Seafoam. Not the fault of the product itself as it is doing what it promised – dissolving deposits. You are using the product improperly and expecting a miraculous cure for your TW. Ain’t gonna happen! Use the right tool for the right job and have realistic expectations. As far as the negatives you have heard. “Too much smoke†– sorry, you are using the product improperly – you are putting waaaayyyy to much product in your fuel. “Too expensiveâ€, OK. Buy the gallon and reduce the price in half. Less than 50 cents per thankful a few times per year. It’s a hard argument to make when you spend hundreds of dollars in time / materials on your paint job on that same tractor !! If a cheaper alternative is needed, I have also personally used Chevron Techron fuel additive in everything from Porches to Dodge Caravans without issue. “Didn’t clean up my carbon deposits†– you don’t want to clean a cylinder area with heavy deposits by chemical action alone. Wrong tool for the job. You don’t want flaked off carbon “chips†down around the piston ring area. Best to remove major carbon buildup by mechanical scraping and then followup with regular addition of the additive. “Not recommended in the manufacturer’s manualâ€. I haven’t checked later model engine manuals but the K series wouldn’t be updated since it is no longer manufactured. Manufacturers typically don’t recommend any additives but I have yet to see any manufacturers specifically stating not to use SeaFoam or like products. Most manufacturers don’t care as long as the product makes it through the warranty period. As far as the composition of the product, MSDS sheets are not required to list any manufacturer’s “secret ingredientsâ€. The only time they disclose those secrets is if someone presents at a hospital ER having swallowed their product. The physician will then contact the manufacturer and then be informed of any additional ingredients not listed on the MSDS.

Doesn't it just frost you when you see all these posts about how excited everyone is about going to the show? Well this is another year of that right? Everyone's going but me.... When those first pictures start to roll in, how do ya feel? Well a little better right, but still wishing there was more so you wait for the next one and the next one..... This year in conjunction with Terry from ReDoYourHorse.com will be streaming LIVE from the show! Now don't get too excited, this is a first time trial effort, and we'll certainly do our best to get your show urges satisfied, but it will be the first time that the WHCC show is brought to you live!

Ha Ha ! I got this from a bud who replaced the seats in his bass boat . It's ugly now ( but comfy as all get out ) & it will be recovered in black marine grade vinyl soon .

I recently picked this boat up from Stevebo... In the back of my mind I had a feeling it would one day be mine. I'm almost done polishing it, I just need to do a little more on the very bottom where the trailer bunks are in the way. I think maybe next week while on vacation I'll get to that. When I get back from the show I'm going to have seat cushions made for it. Over the past few days I have been putting together a motor for it, a 1953 Evinrude 25 hp. Its now all together and purrs like a kitten, now I just need to repaint it and add decals...

A small local Wheel Horse and Lawn Boy dealer. A young boy 12 yrs old stopped in and asked for a job. The owner said come back next year when you're 13. He did. He learned Wheel Horses inside and out. He could tune up a Lawn Boy guaranteed to start on the first pull. That shop owner has past away and that boy was me 45 years ago. I will re-do a horse in honor of Mr. Fay Parrott of Parrott' Sales & Service.

The D series seems to be really popular lately and it's making me want one!!!

oldredrider, many times thank you. That was it. It happen several years ago. I should have remembered. It's hell getting older. Now you'll have to excuse me while I go bang my head against the wall.

Basically the later D series has a 1" shaft for the front spindles. The shaft is about 3/4" longer than a standard 4 bolt trailer hub. I simply cut a 3/4" sleeve from a 1" black pipe, 1" black pipe has an OD of 1.25 which is what the seal requires. Slide on the sleeve then the hub. Simply bolt the outer bolt and washer to the spindle. If you need to shim add or subtrac washers. The bolt should bottom against the shaft the bearings should be snug but not tight. I did the easy mod to both of my D series tractors. The sleeve keeps dust and dirt out of the bearings as well. Al

So I know what some of you are thinking... Yeah... BIG DEAL, I'm working no way I can watch anyway.... Well... part of the inspiration comes from Ian. Now, Ian is an interesting chap. He seems all rough and mechanical (and he really is a master crafter) but this guy is incredibly brilliant with video (and everything he touches), and if you haven't seen them, you are missing something. So anyway, Ian was messing around with YouTube and live streaming with the added effect that the video is retained for later viewing. So work... rubbish, watch when you come home, fast forward like Tivo, but most of all enjoy like you're there! I really hope that this works well, other wise I got some explaining to do!

Just picked this up today. Saw it advertised last night, took some dealing but it followed me in my rear view mirror for about 12 miles. Thanks to someone from Johnstown, PA that decided to come to the Great State of Texas back in 1989. One owner, has all original paperwork, brochures, bill of sale.

If it is a 44" snowthrower, then that is the two stage so I would say $550-$600. I'm not sure if I would want that on the 518xi though. That low on hours I also think that the tractor would be more like $1500-$1800.

Definitely going to show Neil a good time. He may not want to go back. He will be following me on the roads, so he should be OK.

The only chance for parts is stay alert for anything that comes around! (<--this smiley is laughing, but I'm actually crying inside ) It was tough just to find a light bulb for the headlight. Oh well, I'll do what I have to. I just need to keep it in good working order and take care of it. Ill just and keep my and hopefully I'll be okay, and find what I need.

IMHO I think it runs great giving its past history of sitting out and water in the bore over time it'll clean itself up. Keep up the great work.

Excellent response save the old man Not looking for a pour in, Fix everything.. perhaps more of a once a season product.. or once all the things you mentioned addressed, to finish off a complete go through to get all the extra less visible bits off.. In the engine I kind of get the benefits.. but was surprised about adding it to the oil.. does that not change the viscosity? I would think if you do after adding it you should/would need to change the oil, filter and give the system a good flush to make sure that any crap loosened.. was flushed out of the system? vs keep running the same oil?? I was interested in this, in the past Oil changes have been a little lax.. was considering adding a bit running before this seasons oil change just "in case" it may help do a bit more through oil change.. So as a add to finish off project product.. a just in case, then as a OCCASIONAL use perhaps keep well serviced engines running.. or in the case of train wrecks.. a First try, with plans to address the issue further.. product.. Seems as the first example, good product.. Second.. don't expect long term fix, or wonder product.. but worth giving a shot with for the cost.. Can be used to ID more extensive issues that need to be taken on.. or will need to be addressed long term? Also I cannot see or have some concerns using it in the oil long term vs a add run for a bit, then change oil proper product? seem somewhat accurate to others results?? Amanda.. "I know enough about small engines to be dangerous" one small fire, blown solenoid, Stupid forgot to set the idle screw and numerous , cuts briusies and oh crap I have a extra set of screws bolts.. where did they go! Make the score.. WH 5 Me 0.. But the WH is running now!

My guess is that is a 60 with a 61 hood because it has the trailer hitch and the diamond plate foot rests, but would have to see a couple more pictures to tell for sure. Looks like a good find!

OK. I finally found a "fix" the PO did that isn't factory wiring and I can go from there. While I was putting a new belt on it, I was able to see the very bottom Molex plug from all angles. The original PO(s) had cut a red wire going into this plug and completely bypassed it. I also see two other wires that are barely holding on for dear life. I'm taking off both sides of this tractor and starting my tracing tonight. Since tackling the fuse block, the thing is starting right up each and every time now. No hesitation. The lights are also good now. It's just the idea of it running without the starter relay in place that makes me want to make it right again.

It has no tags on it whatsoever. The Briggs engine is not original...looks like a 7hp. I'm thinkin' mid 60s.... like a 656 or such. Has a 3 sp (4 sp) trans. Rear wheels are not Wheelhorse. Steering wheel is bogus, but is is tight and works well.

I had to drive a postal truck with the steering on the WRONG side when I worked on them EGAD!!! Nice to have you aboard Neil. Watch out for guys with Chicago Bears jersey's on!

nice to have you here,Neil!!!! driving here aint that bad, i guess it took me a day or two to get out on the road without taking the left side instead of the right! (right, but really its wrong...) its been 15 years or so now, every now and again i find myself thinking and sometimes second guessing until i remember where i am. but I've never pulled out on the road on the wrong side again since that first day! i still remember the look on the drivers face in the car coming towards me..... hope you enjoy your stay here. Im sure you will enjoy meeting some of us midwesterners at the show this year as well. sorry i won't be there to meet you though...... I'm sure Steve will more than make up for it though. Hey Steve, show the Englishman a good time, ok?

That's enough for today. Here where it stands. Just a few more minor pieces to paint and It can all go back together. Boy it's great having a second complete tractor to compare for re-assembly. I can't believe I can't remember how everything goes!

Hi there from A good source of info is on A-1 Miller Enterprises website. Plenty about rebuilding all the carbs used on the Kohler engines. It also states that the Walbro non adjustable main jet carb is calibrated with just the right amount of fuel for running @ 3200 rpm,if you run above this you risk burning valves & pistons.Hope this is of some use to you. Doug.

I thought the walbro carbs are supposed to run around 3200 and 3300 I could be wrong but I think I've read that somewhere
