10 pointsI know not a wheelhorse, but he thinks it is and he is in heaven.

4 pointsThanks to fellow member Shawn, aka Cutlas3391, I finally got my elusive black hood. I traded my GT-14 for a 1984 C-165. I think that she looks awesome. She is in pretty good shape and just needs a good cleaning, fresh gas and tune up. Shawn is a helluva guy and I just want to thank him again! Thanks bro! My plans are to give her a 10 foot resto; looks fine from 10 feet but not perfect up close. We are talking rattle cans and elbow grease! She will definitely be a worker.

3 pointsThanks guys, the Birthday wishes are much appreciated. I didn't do the egg hunt but the Grand daughter kicked some Easter bunny tail. This Birthday is kinda of unique as it also comes with the Easter Holiday as this has only happened once before in 2003 other than that the previous to that would have been 1930. The next time it happens will be 11 years in 2025. After that it will be something like 2087 I doubt if I make that one. Talked with my Mom today and she told me I was born the day before Easter in 1957. 4/20 is a Special day!!!

3 pointsPlease do not take this the wrong way...I have been following some of your threads...I have to say...you have picked the right avatar. Obviously, the right thing to do (so you might make it to 30 years old) is to shut it down before you dismount that horse. That is the right thing to do.

2 pointsI thought I logged into the "My Little Pony" website this morning! Had to go back to my Bunn unit and threw another scoop into the filter and start over!
-
2 pointsAlright guys to conclude this discussion- I adjusted the chain to a higher notch on the lifting arm so that when raised the deck will be up tight against the stops (so it rides correctly in the up position now). When lowered it can still drop all the way to the ground to ride on the deck wheels. Something is definitely off but it should work just fine. Belts should arrive on Monday so I will install and give it a whirl.

2 pointsGot to spend a little time on the ranger today....finally got it on all 4's again. Most of my time was in fixing previous mistakes of assembly...had to take the motor off again because I ran the oil drain on the wrong side, and also realized I put the dash on wrong again and its sitting a little sideways, but I think it will be ok..as there is a little play in the hood. Otherwise I basically have to take the whole tractor back apart which I really don't want to do even though I should. Found out my throttle cables don't match which was dissapointing when they came together as a set, so I will order one that will match the choke cable at a different date....anyways as far as good things I did get the belt guard, back wheels, fenders and started running the throttle cables. Here's a updated picture.

2 pointsJust seen the other pictures and videos of it in action, you are going to have to hire crowd control in June Truly awesome!!,

1 pointHi all, Just jumped into the world of wheelhorses - i'm looking to pick up a 95 520H next week probably. I picked it up from someone that referenced this site, but i don't know if he is a member here. Paul and i reached a good deal on the tractor, the 48" deck and a snow blower (with weights and chains). i'm pretty excited. I still want to pick up a tiller for it, and probably the correct size wheels (these are slightly narrower than the "stock" ones.) i've been reading and researching garden tractors for a few months now and have come to the conclusion that this is pretty much exactly what i need (except i want a 60" deck, and a front end loader, and and and.. ) enough about the boring stuff, here are a few pictures! Thanks for hosting and providing support to all of us newbies. hopefully in a few years i'll be able to share my experiences as well!

1 pointThe 518-H models for the North American market used the Eaton 700 with manual lift. The export models with E1 and R1 in the model number used the Eaton 1100 with hydraulic lift. Garry

1 pointI found it snuggled up to my 603 Special this afternoon... so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

1 pointIt has been awhile since I have had one so I maybe wrong but isn't the circled item your parking brake?
-
1 pointWow! I didn't notice the 'fire' at first. That's a cool shot! Nice tractor too!
-
1 pointif the bearing looks ok and wasn't noisy i would just leave it in and clean it..... brake cleaner is a good way..... maybe need to replace the seal depending on how hard the lip on the seal is or any damage... if you need to replace the bearing and/or seal........ bearings are easy enough to press out and replace. use a hydraulic press or a simple long bolt and sockets the right diameter. i pressed the old one out on my 416 rebuild by placing a 3/8 bolt and nut sideways on the inside shoulder of the needle bearing and pressing against the bolt shaft with a hydraulic press to remove it. the bolt was long enough to just slide through the slots in the bore of the pto cone sideways and i un did the nut until it was tight against the bore and the flats of the bolt and nut rested on the sides of the bearing shell..... don't have a pic of removal, but heres how i pressed the needle bearing and seal back in using a long carriage bolt and assorted large sockets and large flat washers........

1 pointWasn't there a time when Wheel Horse was having problems sourcing Kohler engines due to a strike or something like that so they temporarily switched to the Tecumseh engines?
-
1 pointI did a search for your original post and found it. If I'm reading it correctly you have #12 run from the panel to the outlet the compressor is plugged into. That could be the problem because it should be #10 but then again, your motor won't be running at 22 fla. The start up surge can be a bear though. I'm assuming the unloader on the compressor is working OK? To check the amperage you need the proper meter. It will have jaws that open up and clamp around one wire. They are readily available and one that would suit you isn't too expensive. Can you move the compressor closer to the panel and try it out? With #12 you will have voltage drop and that will cause the amperage to rise, causing more voltage drop, even higher current draws.....it just compounds itself. Something in what you've posted makes me thing there might still be a problem with the compressor. Your voltage sounds OK. 220/230/240 is nominal (across the legs). It's very hard to troubleshoot something like this from afar. The first thing I'd do is get the power feed corrected and then see what happens. If there's still a problem then we go to the next step.

1 pointIt "may" be a slow death tranny as in it is bypassing after it warms up and may need a rebuild. You've been around the forum and the tractors to know that a bad hydro will lose power after it warms up and will continue to do so gradually until it isn't usable. However there are a few things I would do first. I would drain your oil and remove the filter and replace with a good 10w-30 motor oil or a 10w-30 synthetic. Please make sure the filter you use is for a hydrostatic system and not a motor. Also make sure that your tow valve is closed all the way. (I think the C-145 was a Sundstrand). 25 hours on the oil and filter may be enough to cause issues and if you were using it over the winter hard like many of us this pass winter, I would change it out and then compare.

1 pointWelcome to the darkside! Well.....black hood side anyway. Outside of the twin blackhoods, (the C-175 and the Super C), the 16 horse single fills that void under the hood better than anything I've seen short of a Van Guard upgrade. Nice tractor!
-
1 pointI've kinda of taken to these blackhoods too....in fact...I have a question....gonna PM you....
-
1 pointPapa.....nice score. Keep us updated as your going through the motions. Best of luck. Glenn

1 pointWell I just got a few more pictures this morning from Bob, which is very much appreciated. Pictures mean alot!! So I am going to add a few more. I think the video you may have to go to Bob's Facebook page. Totally Articulating Tractors by Rock & Son

1 pointNoise Makers, Chewing Gum, Poison Worms, All that stuff doesn't work. I know cause I've done everything and spent more money than you can shake a stick at. I had 6 of those Sweeney Mole Stakes that give off a shrill buzz. After I seen mole runs within inches of them I figured all the MOLES were doing was dancing! What I found that works is a Nash Mole Trap. I have 6 of them and have used with GREAT results EVERYTIME within 48 hrs or less. You want to know you killed em, using all that other non sense leaves you guessing. I killed 37 last year at different locations and made a few bucks at it too which has kinda taken the sting outta the crap I bought over the years that didn't work. Anyways After I catch em if they aren't dead I reward them by giving them Free swimming & diving lessons by dropping the trap in a 5 gal bucket "O" water! Jeesh I have yet to have one pass my swimming test! Then I hang them on a stick in the front yard so all their friends can see what happens if they show up at The Duke 'O' minium! ~Duke http://youtu.be/_SuqoKt06yg

1 pointI am having trouble posting pics but here is the story of how I got the 875. In 1970 my parents moved out to a semi-rural area and our new neighbor had a Wheel Horse tractor that he used too mow and plow snow and I thought it was the coolest thing. He passed away and the family that moved in got the tractor with the house. The daughter got married and took the tractor with her when she left. Last week I was talking to the son, who still lives there, and he was telling me his sister was moving out of state and she was leaving everything behind and he had to get it out before the new owner took over and he mentioned she still had the Wheel Horse and he was going to scrap it with all the other stuff she left. I told him I would help load stuff up if I could have the tractor and that was fine by him, so for a sore back and a tank of gas I have the tractor I first saw when I was 12 years old.

1 pointBob along with a select few are the ones who have inspired me to build something unique. One thing is for sure, he sets that bar darn high!! I don't think I'll match his build quality and uniqueness, but hopefully have some fun on the way. I can't imagine you EVER wanting to take it apart for painting I'd just want to play..... But then I guess you will want it super shiny for June.

1 pointHi everybody! After some days without any new photo. A friend of mine finally finished the vinyl decals and they look great! The last missing part will be placed on completing the license plate and the backlight with the old retro style from sixties.
-
1 pointGot the motor back together today with the help of a friend. Just have to paint it and put it back together the rest of the way. I still haven't ordered tranny parts so that will probably wait until Thursday. Getting really close on this project! Thanks, Jake
