3 pointsThis is only my second post, but I wanted you all to see the Wheel Horse I’ve just pick up a few weeks back. It was my Dad’s last Wheel Horse, a ‘76 D200, he passed away a few years back so needless to say I have plans to restore it and use it. He would like that. He started using a Wheel Horse back in the mid ‘50s just to mow his 3 ½ areas. All of the preveses Wheel Horse he used them to mow, but this last one has very few hours on it as he only used it to work his garden with the tiller. He said it was too big to use as his main mower so he bought a small JD to do the mowing. I can’t wait to get started. I guess in a way I have, since it had no mower, I found what was suppose to be a mower off of a D200 on ebay. It turns out to be off of a 97 Wheel Horse. The mower part number is 78361. I’m in the process of modifying the lift arms so it will fit this 76 D200. Here I am loaded up and heading up to Ohio. That a trailer and all it's parts in the back of the truck. Here is the tarctor where it has sat for the pass 6 years or more. I's loaded up and ready to head home to Georgia the next morning. I made it home on the put it together yourself trailer and my Dad's Wheel Horse.

3 pointsI'm currently on vacation with my wife and kids, and not one to sit around doing nothing - in between trip to the beach a guy has to keep busy. As I've posted before I've a lot of hobbies, horses music, DIY, model cars... Well we nearly always bring the r/c rock crawlers with us, so with a spare 20 mins we go for a play in the dunes and do some video... So here's how I've kept myself busy for a few hours this evening. A bit of editing, some cheesy music, and upload to YouTube over a flaky 3G mobile connection. All done on the ipad, for those who fancy a bit of filming, music and editing it's unbeatable Some of you might just see where the inspiration for so much articulation came from on project C4... And why I like to drive over things

2 pointsYou guys can probably tell that the tractor has been painted by the photos in the gallery. I am going to throw a couple more out there for now and see maybe we can get some good weather and maybe a video who knows. As this process has been moving forward the words that I look for are like "awesome". How else would you desdribe it?
-
2 pointsNoise Makers, Chewing Gum, Poison Worms, All that stuff doesn't work. I know cause I've done everything and spent more money than you can shake a stick at. I had 6 of those Sweeney Mole Stakes that give off a shrill buzz. After I seen mole runs within inches of them I figured all the MOLES were doing was dancing! What I found that works is a Nash Mole Trap. I have 6 of them and have used with GREAT results EVERYTIME within 48 hrs or less. You want to know you killed em, using all that other non sense leaves you guessing. I killed 37 last year at different locations and made a few bucks at it too which has kinda taken the sting outta the crap I bought over the years that didn't work. Anyways After I catch em if they aren't dead I reward them by giving them Free swimming & diving lessons by dropping the trap in a 5 gal bucket "O" water! Jeesh I have yet to have one pass my swimming test! Then I hang them on a stick in the front yard so all their friends can see what happens if they show up at The Duke 'O' minium! ~Duke http://youtu.be/_SuqoKt06yg

2 pointsWhats up everybody, alot of you guys kind of already know a little bit about this project. There comes a time of when you can do things and finally its has come to life as we know it. It moves, runs fantastic. Kind of like excited if you know what I mean. Anyways I am not computer oriented so if I don't succeed at this I am pretty sure that Bob will get it straightened out. Well here goes.

1 pointmy back yard is covered in mole tunnels and I hear that they will eat sweet potatoes underground. I see metal windmill looking devices that claim to make a tapping noise that drives moles away. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this??? Thanks Francis

1 pointI am going to start this post then let John post up the pictures. For quite some time John has had the idea of building a Articulated Gt-16, and last fall we started to make his idea a reality. We have spent most of the winter getting it into a working tractor and are currently at the point of testing before we go to paint. We won't be showing step by step build pics - just jumping through it. This tractor is using a new design than all previous builds on the center joint and I wish to keep it under wraps until a latter date. So please just enjoy what we do show you and hopefully in a few weeks we can show the finished project. Also we are hoping we can successfully upload the test drive video I shot today. Hang tight and lets see if John can follow me up with the pics..... https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1396517100609436.1073741839.1393219404272539&type=1&l=2c8f30be21 Alternative album to view-at my FB Page Totally Articulated Garden Tractors by Rock and Son Fabrication. 1 pointI JUST PUT THE DECK BACK ON THE TRACTOR. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL RED PAINT. THE WHEELS ARE REPAINTED, HOOD AND CONSOLE BLACK TOUCH UP. THIS TRACTOR HAD A VERY EASY LIFE WITH ONLY 608 HOURS. THE DECK IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD. I TRYING TO SALE IT NOW ON CRIAGSLIST AND REDSQUARE. BOWTIE IN CENTRAL OHIO

1 pointI Need some of those little clips that hold the hubcaps on. I know someone once mentioned you can get them at truck stops. My local one didn't have them. Does anyone else have a source? Got one on my cart but need the clips for the other side
-
1 pointSo after gitting my kidneys all shook up and my spine miss-alligned riding my old tractors all winter I decided to git out the "Caddy". My "89" 312-8. The seat is so soft with big springs under it and the steering wheel is rubbery not just hard plastic. The motor is smooth as glass when its runnin and with the curved footpedals its like a piece of heaven. The rear tires are the squishy 2 ply type and the steering is spot on. Gonna be hard to git back on one of the rattly beasts! No real question here just wanted to share my joy... Mike..all relaxed now...
-
1 pointI will be sure to get some photos of that. I have not seen the chipper yet. A friend of mine knows a farmer that bought this tow behind chipper at a sale. It just sits along a tree line in a field. The farmer does not really use it and I guess just bought it because the price was right. My friend just used it about a week ago and said it works good. So we shall see. We have the local Old Time Plow Boys tractor show coming up so when I drive the deere to the show, I will swing through and pick up the chipper. He Craig. Haul your new loader horse over here. There is plenty for everyone lol. I did some more but didnt get a chance to take pictures. I will take some tomorrow and post them. It amazes me the piles of brush I was pushing with this lil ole wheel horse. Just kept on going and snapping big branches as it went. Loved the sound of snapping and crushing debri as the governor opened up. I could add wieght yet too but then I might get into to much trouble. Might just pushed down the hole woods.....

1 pointDang Jake, that Lawn Ranger is looking really Nice!! Makes me want to get to work on a couple of my Lawn rangers!!! Keep us updated with pictures!!!!
-
1 pointStarting putting the lawn ranger back together tonight, turning out pretty nice. I think I can probably have it done this weekend, but not rushing on it. Going together pretty easy. Does anyone know if the nylon steering bushings can still be bought? I didn't have one and had to take one off a round hood tank and cut it it go length, but its still worn out. Here's a couple pictures of it. Thanks, Jake
-
1 pointMy first cut with the 414-8 with a 48" deck went surprisingly well. I have decided not to re-gear it as in high grass in 2nd, it bogs the 14hp down to much and I had to go in first a couple of times. I really like the steering up higher and the seat down low. It will take longer to cut but it sure sips the gas compared to the 520H, I know how you all like pictures so here it is...

1 pointHad a me a mini roundhood festivus here today... 2014's first fire in the hole.
-
1 pointYeah buddy, those GT-14 with chains are some pushing machines! Thanks for the photos.
-
1 pointSounds to me like you have a serious flooding condition caused by a hole in the float. That is why when the bowl is removed, it appears to be working. But if it is filled with gas, it won't rise to close the float valve on it's own. Remove the float and see if it has a hole in it. If it does, fix or replace it. If it doesn't, go ahead and replace the float valve and gaskets. The #26 carburetor on the K241 is a pretty dependable one, and flooding is not usually a problem unless there is a condition as described.
-
1 pointTractor lugs would help but you got it done pretty well I think.
-
1 pointKinda like the idea of smoked mole, so I thought I'd givem a taste of Horse CO. Several horses were happy to join the hunt.

1 pointHoning it with the 3 blade type you are likely to "egg" shape the bore, "dingle berry" hone may work but takes hours. I did a Tecumseh .030 over, cast iron sleeve and almost wore out "dingle berry" hone and almost wore out drill press. I wouldn't do it again. The hone was given to me but they ("dingle berry") are expensive and not all size inclusive either. All in all your perceived or incurred cost and actual cost are about same.

1 pointThe capacitor serves one of the same functions as in a coil based system. Between the coil in the ignition coil and the external capacitor, a little oscillator circuit is setup. The capacitor causes current to wash back and forth thru the coil for a few fractions of a second. This action will "extend" the time a spark exists across the spark plug gap. Not so much a "multispark" but an "extended spark".

1 pointHey Duke! We put a lot of the native trout back in the run since that is the only way the stream keeps it's population of trout. On opening weekend we take a few and I don't mind taking some of the bigger ones since Brown Trout tend to "eat their own" as they get bigger. They also kill a lot of Brook Trout! We hit the stocked waters and take as many as we legally can for a big fish fry in late September. All the trout are filleted and we do them up with a beer batter and deep fry them in turkey cookers. My fiancée is from Cincinnati, (Finneytown to be exact), so we get plenty of Frisch's Tarter Sauce and head back east. We feed about 75 folks with trout fillets plus Crappie and some Walleye taken from the nearby Bald Eagle Creek at Bald Eagle State Park. It's nice to have both Limestone/Spring fed Trout Streams and some great warm water fisheries within minutes from us. Of course you guys that have the lakes and the steelhead runs...............I envy not being close to that!
-
1 pointMy guess would be an early 1054, with a leftover 953 engine. I would date it by the lense buckets.
-
1 pointfinally painted some parts today. footrests, pto, some misc brackets and two seat pans, one was nice and the other had a lot of rust. the rusty one i had been layering primer on it (powder coat) and let it sit for a week or two between coats and da sanding with 220. finally had it ready for red about a month ago, but it has sat for a bit at work. scuffed it up with some fine scotch brite when i was doing the other parts today.... you can never have enough seat pans i say.........
-
1 pointIt did snow yesterday. Not enough to get the blower out so I got the mower out instead.
-
1 pointWow that thing look showroom for not being repainted!! Wish everyone took care of tractors like that . . . Thanks for posting the pics.
-
1 pointI don't often speak to or see my landlord, maybe once a year, so it might be a while until I get any info from him.. So here's a few photo's from yesterday.. Here's one of the many stray bricks, no frogs, very strong and very heavy for a brick! Here's the strange brick structure in the woods, a bit hard to see as it's overgrown and the trees are doing there best to demolish the brickwork.. It's about 20ft in length.. It's U shaped with a curved and rendered top course of bricks. A closer up of some of exposed brickwork which had been coated in render of some sort. I have no idea what it once was or what it was used for, there in no obvious way of water getting in and out through pipes/channels. 10 seconds walk away is the first clay pit. Which drops down into another.. And another, and another until eventually the final pit dig is level with the stream. Oh, here's the latest in the "Clocks out of context" series..... I call this one "Peek a Blue"

1 pointI support Horse Fixers motion. I also use these traps. Nothing can turn a bad day into a good day faster then coming home from work and seeing all 4 tripped Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

1 pointput your meter on the negative side of the battery and the other on the negative side of the coil. spin the motor over by hand and the voltage should go from battery voltage 12. what ever down to around 1 volt and then back up. if you check the onan manual it will walk you through this and all electronic check out procedures. good luck eric j

1 pointmust be on a long piece of pipe as instructed or not as effective...there's a be b in the housing and is echoed down the tube or pipe to make the ear shattering noise for them........

1 pointThis is my Step-Grandson with a 13 inch native Brown Trout from the little Class A Wild Trout Stream by the camp.
-
1 pointJust back from camp tonight! This weekend goes by so fast! Few pics coming. We stayed on the native trout streams locally and did well using redfin minnows. (Black-nosed Dace). Did a selfie with an 18 inch Native Brown.

1 pointDoc Unfortunately I will not be able to make it to Mentone this year. Lola and I are moving that week. Once I get my equipment moved and set up things should get back to normal. I will be preparing for the Big Show once we are all settled. Will update this thread and check my list to make sure everyone who has posted will have a magnet. Terry

1 pointThanks all, I am keeping track of what a C series harness would cost to duplicate. Since I need to make 3 or 4 for myself and 2 for a neighbor, I should have a very good handle on cost of materials and an accurate labor cost. The big ticket item anyone would have to consider is the terminal crimper. A good quality double crimper for non insulated terminals is going to run from $40 - $50. Anyone contemplating doing their own harness would have to contend with that cost first when making a buy / make your own decision. Connector shells in 10 packs are way cheaper than single unit cost and terminals in 100 packs are less expensive than 25 packs. Maybe if the labor time is low enough, I could push out a few more and list them in the classifieds. Stay tuned, the crimpers arrived today and I should have a finished harness with some cost calculations by the weekend.
-
1 pointvery cool, maybe you should sell harnesses to guys who dont have your skills, you could recoup some of your tool cost, just thinking aloud

1 pointA couple of things...your points control the timing on these engines. Try setting them with the "Static Method" or if they are set at 0.020 try setting them at 0.018. I have a 10 hsp on my B-100 and it was doing the same thing. I cleaned all the grounds and put in a new battery...it is down to about 7 cranks now. It also seems to help, especially when it is cold outside, to hold in the clutch pedal when cranking...not turning the belt and the input shaft on the transmission.
