I was tiling a bathroom on a hotel recently and i had a few old broken tiles left over, so i thought rather than just throw them away i would put them to good use . Here are a few pics of what i managed to conjour up , The mosaic even has some chrome wheel nuts which i took off some plumbing fittings I thought i would use the display when showing my tractors at the shows

Hello Everyone It's been a while since I've been on the forum I thought I'd get back into things with this post, As most of you know I've been waiting for the nicer weather to be here to allow me to crack on with the restoration of my cub cadet, there's not really a lot more that needs doing, only for me to add a few more coats to the wheels then add the decals, and all should look grand again! Here's some pictures for you, Here's the cub whilst removing the engine, The cub once engine was removed and had a petrol wipe, Prepping the rims Getting everything ready Wheels now with new tri rib tyres on, still need a few coats Half grey or half yellow? Spraying the bonnet, I don't know how good quality these pictures will load, but such a good paint job you can even see my reflection Spraying the tractor!

I would like to Thank everyone that buys parts from me. My wife has been driving the same van for near 13 years, I have kept it repaired over the years, but MI winters and road salt have taken it's toll on the body with many holes some very large, and the near 300,000 miles it has on it, we knew the end was near for it, so I began selling a few more parts this winter, putting out the "I have your part send me a PM" line in a bunch of post, well last week her van died on a morning it was -19 deg. so I took the money raised from selling parts and bought her a nice used van, it's even red. All thanks to the great buyers here on RS and a few other tractor site, We both THANK YOU ALL for your patronage. Here is pics, I drove all over the state looking at junk, and was about to give up I was tired of driving and looking at vans people said "It's in great shape" only to see junk, then this one came up, we drove 3 hours to see it after getting many pictures and talking to the owner on the phone, so glad it turned out to be as nice as she said, there are honest people out there.

There is still a lot of snow on this mountain. (Ridge to all those who live in the Rockies)! Worked the 520 about three hours clearing enough space off the forestry road for about three trucks to park. March Madness is coming and we will be out there come h#%$ or high snow! Once I got through the crust it was great as long as I didn't dig into the ice pack. I angled the bucket to much one time and tore into that base. I had a 4 foot square soup bowl that swamped the rear wheels when I dropped into it. As long as I stayed on the base, I was fine. I measured about 22 inches of snow still in the open areas when I started. Temperature hit 39 degrees at 3:30 in the afternoon. It was 53 degrees on the valley floor at home before I left. I used my little trailer to get it out there. That is the first and last time I will carry that much weight on that little guy! I thought my trailer tires were made from super ball polymers. What a ride!

[ My brother David Ralph and I just got back from Fairland, Oklahoma on a Wheel Horse Road Trip. About 7 1/2 to 8 hours from Greencastle, Indiana to Fairland, Oklahoma. We went to pick up Wheel Horse RJ that had been owned by one man for 60 years. I was not sure about the tractor when I saw the first pictures of it sent by the seller but after I talked to him and saw that there were 5 implements with the tractor going at one price I had to really think about it. I paid for half of the cost in December when I learned about this being sold and told the seller I would have to wait for good weather to come and pick it up. Friday, March 8th was 63 degrees in Fairland and it was about 50 degrees and sunny on the way thru Missouri Thursday. I was very happy when I saw the tractor in person Friday morning. Some dents and weld spots on the hood, but good, clean gasoline tank, original motor -K-90 , Schnacke Recoil in great working order, pancake muffler in good shape, original belt guard in great condition, original belt guide for 32 inch cutter bar belt, good seat and spring (seat not cracked anywhere) and five pretty good implements. A CBR-32 inch cutter bar (with all original parts), a LT-24 dump cart, a cultivator, and 8 inch garden plow, and a spiked tooth harrow. Front tires don't match and not good -wheels good. Rear wheels good and no rear tires. We also stopped at a friends in Illinois and bought two more rear tires and wheels to use on the RJ and another cultivator. I will post some photos. I am not planning on doing much to this tractor but tune up motor, new belt, points, and tires. May paint wheels for added life! don't let the starter come apart when you pull it off the motor, the 2 long bolts are the only thing holding it together,or then you will need to learn how to get the brushes in

but Jeff, don't we want to talk about simmering them in a secret blend of warm STP, carnauba wax from Brazil and acetone. remove and gently massage the links with a chamois cloth to a shine then apply 3M $80 a ounce #69 polish....

Recounting a recent - pleasant - experience with shipping a C-100 with Fastenal across country for what the buyer and I think was an especially good rate... I recently listed a refurbed C-100 for sale in our classified and within a few days I was asked by one of our members if I could ship it from Louisiana To Mass! Yikes! My first thought was no way hosea! But, I had recently skimmed through a post on this very subject, so went back and reread it more closely and saw Fastenall mentioned --- Hmmm, I've got a store real close by. So I agree to at least ck on shipping. I go by the store and am greeted by the nicest guy, who as it turned out wasnt all that familiar with how to go about it, explaining that its a fairly recent thing - last couple yrs? - Fastenal has started. --- this would be his first try at it Heres how it was explained to me. Fastenal ships their stock all over the place to their many stores, often times with extra space in the trailer. So I guess somebody says Hey! why dont we utilize that space and offer a really good rate to a shipper with the stipulation that the item be brought to your nearest store and it would have to be picked up at the delivery store, it couldnt be time specific, just that they would get it there for a reasonable price in a reasonable time frame. He gives me a web site to go to and fill out a 'rate request', a very short and simple form with my name, what I was shipping & weight (I showed 'garden tractor'), where it was going, etc. The next morning I get a call from another very nice guy to verify what I was shipping and to explain that it would have to be fully crated -- uhoh! I dont know if I like that! But then... he gives me the quote --- $250 to go halfway across the country! The prospective buyer is tickled and we agree on how to handle it, so I agree to making a crate. The problem for me on a crate was making the base of it be fork lift friendly, figured the rest would be easy. Since its almost grass cutting time here and the new years lawn tractors are popping up all over maybe I can get something at a big box store or ... No luck there but then I remember I have a Kubota dealer near by and I make an almost perfect score there. Dont know what was on it originally but it was a perfect fit for the C. Once the base was solved it was relatively simple to enclose it using 1/4" OSB/chip board over a 2x2" frame work. I dropped the crate off at the store on a Thur afternoon for pickup early the next morning (Fri). Well, the shipping might not have been 'time specific' but the buyer picked the tractor up 7 days later (Fri) The C-100 that was shipped The skid/pallet/base I picked up at the Kubota dealer The C-100 nestled in its crate The tractor/crate ready to go to Massachusetts. I left the opening in hopes nothing would get stacked on top of it

Wow Lane, that's a lot of stuff. You went right by me. If I knew you were comin' I might have been able to load you up too! Nice bridge, eh? They just opened it about a month ago. It's amazing the lengths we'll go for these tractors. Steve

Either can I. Never thought anyone would put so much thought and consternation over tire chains. I'd hate to see what happens over something important like an oil change or a tranny fluid change...I can only imagine the long nights worrying over what filter to use...what happens if I use Castrol oil instead of Mobil 1....Oh my ........My Dads on the 12 Automatic are 40 years old and he never did anything to his chains but hang them up after the winter was over. The ones on my boy's Charger 12 are closer to 60 years old and came off my Dad's 1950 Studebaker Lark, we just shortened them to fit the Charger...... They're tire chains...way too much worryin' goin' on here.....Dont sweat the small stuff, they're meant to get used and rust and wear...

I found this two page item in my pile of papers from my recent 1958 Wheel Horse purchase in Fairland, Oklahoma. Some of the two wheel -Wheel Horse Pond owners might need this information or find it interesting! It is an instruction and parts list manual for the cutter bar for the two wheel garden tractors they made in the early years. The drawing on the manual gives you a clean understanding how the two wheel front cutter bar was adapted to the CBR-32 Front Cutter Bar sold for the RJ's.

Made the belt guard for the RJ 35. Thanks to each for your help, especially Brian. One note the 1-1/2" dimension, for the front mounting tab, on Buckrancher's pictures does not work for my tractor, it may be good for all the rest of the RJ 35's in the world, but not this one. The first picture is of the mandrel I made to bend the flat bar around, the OD is just over 4". It should be noted that one should restrain the unbent end of the bar by clamping it securely to prevent slippage and bending. Again thanks to all for your help, David

Lets see, engine burns oil...deck rusted through in one spot (means there are probably more ready to break through.... something wrong with a usually tough reliable tranny. Either this unit has been worked very long and very hard or it was abused/neglected. Oil not changed = oil burning later in life, tranny problem could be because there was water in the tranny or somebody ground gears a lot. Bottom line at that price he can keep it....

Wow $250 shipping costs, what a bargain & what a beautiful tractor. I paid quite a bit more than $250 to ship my tractor across the pond last October 2013 i wished i had gone to the company that you used, it may have been a lot cheaper . I used UPS to ship 5 of my tractors from US & they required me to also have them crated up , but i am glad i paid the extra cost to crate them as the guys in the loading depot are not too careful with the forklifts , as the crate in the first picture has been damaged & that could have damaged the tractor if it wasnt crated .

Picked up this beast this morning. Has a good deck, but I plan on putting my spare blower on and make it my primary snow mover. I'll put the Tecky powered C-120 into semiretirement.... It has had a long working life and deserves a little R&R. Can't wait to try that hydro lift.

This was my first blower I had back in 2008, mounted on a well worn out C-141 8 speed, we had about 4" of snow and it did a pretty good job, just had to keep a eye on the oil, the tractor drank a little, a buddy still has this tractor.

I am happy to take the blame Martin. Usually when it is my fault, it is something bad but this time something good has come of it. I think we need to have an official unveiling party when its all done. Maybe a drum roll before you uncover #3

couldn't stay away from the engine, so went out to do a little more...... got the rotor and ignition pickup on.... stator..... flywheel was previously cleaned up, magnets masked off and painted. flywheel and starter on. starter got a cosmetic rebuild only as id already gone through it, cleaned it out and got it working. i bead blasted the aluminum and threw some plated parts at it..... little premature here getting the engine on the tractor, but i needed to work out some wiring and battery cables, so i placed it on the tractor and couldn't resist a couple pics.......

Well here is a conspiracy theory for ya. We know that Illinois looked really bad against Michigan last Tuesday...I think they did it on purpose. It worked too. Iowa did not take the Illini seriously last night...and guess what happened?? Illinois beat Iowa 66 to 63. WOW :banana-linedance: :banana-linedance: :banana-linedance:

Thanks Glenn. Found this poor Horse next to a barn, it was parked for a year or two. Owner picked up a zero turn. Sand blasted and repainted all the steel, new decals from the Vinyl Guy. Skateboard grip tape on the foot rests and a seat from Tractor Supply along with new Kevlar® belts. Head lamps and bezels, partstree.com. My total cost, under $400. Well spent moola! PS. Decals are great from the Vinyl Guy and, I couldn't live with the "TORO" labels, ouch.

Here's a good tip I work at Home Depot and when we sell the ariens tractors we give away the crates or toss them out. So stop buy your local home depot and ask for a tractor crate. Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk

no plating?. that is what you call invisible plating. just noticed the move myself, i was going to contact a mod to see if it should be moved now that this whole thing has turned into an epic journey but looks like its already taken place.... who would have known that Terry would have started all this at the time. its all his fault....... its like I've graduated from wheel horse tractors to the resto section...... sure, if you want to give me some tractors to keep, i will take them......

The problem Steve was inquiring about was I believe powered implements. I may be wrong but I think thats where he was going. If thats the case there is absolutey nothing aftermarket today that will fit any of the 3 point/rear PTO Horses as they are 2000 RPM. Pert near everything manufactured today is 540 RPM except for a few companies like WIKCO and Befco that make tillers with an option to change the gear box to a 2000 RPM unit but honestly 2 grand for a tiller is a bit steep for most of us on here

I don't think the position of the manual lift lever is comfortable...not for my leg or arm.....that is the main reason I prefer the hydro lift.... Sorry....a bit off topic....

From another list I had a similar problem recently, so I'll offer on other thing... I think my was primarily out of adjustment, but once it got too hot, it glazed the clutch material. Even after I adjusted per the manual, it would still slip and subsequently not release. I wound up roughing up the clutch material with some 200 grit sandpaper real well, and along with the previous adjustments, no problems since.

Take your tractor for a ride in the sand, or a gravel road. I leave my chains on year round. Running around the yard, pushing dirt, and just general use keeps them in pretty good shape.
