2 pointsWhat a little beauty. I love the short framers . good find Bob. Maybe i will get to see it at the show next year. Neil

2 pointsSteve, If you remember, I had an 856 that I brought to the show in 2011, then sold it later that year. I have regretted selling it ever since. That was a really fun tractor to putter around on. Now that I have the 857 with snow plow and deck, it may become my go-to horse. However, I just ordered a new set of decals from Terry, so it looks like it's going to get the full "bob-effect".

2 pointsBob, you have finally bought one of the best Wheel Horses out there. It will soon become your favorite and go to horse. Hard to beat the 8hsp short frame square hood. Did I mention the turning radius? Excellent compared to the earlier horses. Make it a worker...it will not let you down.

2 pointsI'm placing an order for decals now. Chances are quite good. But anything could happen between now and June. Funny you should ask about the big show. I drove past the fairgrounds on the way to pick this up. They were cleaning up from the apple festival. Couldn't help but imagine the sounds of all those Kohlers running.

1 pointI have seen a few requests for tow hitch options on the forum. Well here is a design I am working on. It is a combination Cyclone Rake and Receiver type hitch. It is in the prototype stage right now and I have a fabricator estimating it as we speak. This has been a result of my Cyclone Rake twisting my tow bar off once and getting close to it a second time. I hope the Cyclone Rake will have a hard time twisting this off. It will probably turn the tractor over first????

1 pointCame across this and thought I'd share it as I'm sure some of you guys will enjoy and appreciate it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daVDrGsaDME I've done this a fair few times with Mini engines in the past - brings back memories. Hope it does for some of you too.. Andy

1 pointPM sent Scott. I really appreciate it. Yes, my grandson and I really enjoyed the show. He was so excited when he got the cd I sent him with all the pictures. I only wish we could make it every year.

1 pointLate as usual....but heres a couple pics from the show. Started out driving the isles with my Workhorse. Heres Chris's masterpieces. (If you look closely you can see my Gt-1600 trying to get in the pic with the shiny ones) Couple nice Panzers. This sign tells what the next machine is much better than I could. This is one of the many machines being operated, its incredible to watch in actiuon. I take it in every year and I'm always amazed at its size and strength! Mike..........

1 pointAgs are made for dirt, and will be the best for that, they work in snow also, until there is ice or hard packed snow then they do ok but chains and turfs are best in the snow

1 pointFinally found time to finish the seat. This is what I had to start with. I know this wasn't the original seat, but I like the high back two piece seats that were on most of the C's. Made a pattern from the C-160 seat. Transferred to 1/6" steel from old cabinet door. Cut out the back. To be continued.

1 pointWell we should all be 5 wins and no losses this week...except for those that pick Iowa over Ohio St. It is a home team week...except for the Wisconsin at Illinois game...dang it. My picks...Michigan St., Northwestern, Michigan, Ohio St., Wisconsin For some reason the Big Ten teams that start with the letter "I"...well Indiana, Iowa and Illinois hardly ever get over the hump.

1 pointI'm taking that as no one has a good part number?

1 pointYup, I will take a screaming 71 series Detroit over the new computer controlled Cummins we have in the mixers any day. Mine was an 8V-71T. 335hp fuel squeezer when I got it. At the first overhaul, it got N-80 injectors and a 92 series blower and turbo. It dyno-ed at 385hp. at the wheels. I wondered what crankshaft hp. that would turn out to be. It went from 4mpg. to over 6mpg. But, it was a hot runner. So, you really needed to watch the heat or she would crack a head. Fun days.

1 pointWell as I sit here with a heating pad on my back, drink in hand and advil in my belly here are some more pictures of today's work. I was able to finish the framing and get the standing seam roof system on. Next will be to install fascia trim and siding. Did not make it to the flea market to see if they had any old wooden windows...

1 pointNot a tractor but we just discontinued a Emergency Generator at work that was 2 2cycle 8 cyl turbocharged Detroits bolted together. It was located in the basement and not outside. Made the lab above it vibrate so much that all the new fangled equipment in there almost useless when it's running.

1 pointThe D's are the BIG DOGS in the Wheel Horse line up. When I see pictures of Wheel Horse tractors that i like, I save the pictures. This D is not mine but the pictures are two of my favorites. It was restored and it did belong to one of our members at one time but I lost track of which one. Not sure if it is eligible but since we all like pictures and this is a beauty I will put it up anyway. I think this D looks awesome with the big snow blower on it.

1 pointHeres my girl. When I bought her in 2011 she was a basket case as you can see. They hydro pump and motor was run out of oil and burned up, car tires on the back, front ones didn't hold air, a seat that a beaver had attacked at some point, no 3 point hitch and a wiring harness that looked like a 4 year old made it, the plow frame was bent and so was the moldboard like it hit something solid at about 10 MPH. But I didn't give up....I tore it pretty much down to the frame, purchased 3 hydro pumps and a motor and Made 1 good of each out of a bunch of parts. Cleaned the tranny completely after finding silicone clogging the intake screen, stripped everything to bare metal and rewelded all the broken parts, fixed all the dents and dings this poor thing got in its previously rough life and started from scratch rebuilding things the way I would have done it if I was Wheel Horse 1973. I added LED lights on both front and rear of the fenders and the headlights. I bought a 520 60 inch deck and adapted it to fit under the tractor and work like it should. I did a bunch of work for a member on here and scored me a bent up and rusted 3 point which I straightened and redid after soaking it for 2 weeks in tranny fluid and acetone. Repainted everything and got a seat that was close to what was offered in 73 on it. I made turning brakes from a bunch of pieces that I got along with some ingenuity and custom fab work from my Dad and myself, 29-9.50x15 Titan R-3 sneakers in the back and a set of 18-9.50x8 turf tires up front. I remade the entire wiring harness and added a multi-fuse block. It was a labor of love from the start because I have wanted an 18 auto from the time I was old enough to read the 1973 sales brochure my Dad got with his 12 Auto. I decided at that point I was going to have an "Estate Tractor" someday. Now she's mine and what a workhorse she is even with a very tired engine she still plows snow like a beast.

1 pointIn summer 2009 at a family get together Jdog was telling me about Wheelhorse tractors and showed me this website. He also showed me a CL ad with a D180 in Steelton PA......well I scrounged some bucks together and brought this home....with a 48 inch deck (not shown)....I joined up on this site and one of my first posts was about the tractor going backwards when the lever was pushed forward......I got an answer and had it fixed the same day.....I've been active ever since...... Next I got a plow from Dave at Tractorworld.... The engine smoked very badly so I rebuilt the engine......got some rubber....a bit of paint......added a PTO shaft....got a 3 point..... Same tractor....same dog....now with a snow chucker......4 years later....still a diamond in the rough....but it is MINE!!!!
