2 pointsI'm sitting at the bar working on my check-book and paying some bills and she comes in from the flower garden and says, "Could you get one of your Horses and the cart and haul off some of the junk from the garden"! Now I have the motorcycle in the garage half apart for an electrical repair and 3 of the horses are blocked in, and the D-200 has the grader blade on so it is not going to work. I get the Workhorse 1000...(replaced the 7hp with a 10hp) and it is hoodless because of the bigger engine. This machine ALWAYS starts and runs fine, so I get it out and hook up the yard cart. As I am driving up to the stuff she wants me to haul away, I see this look of discontent on her face......She snaps a couple of photos and said, "Of all the nice complete Horses you have you bring out THAT one"! I said, "A (Wheel) Horse is a Horse"! Photos attached:

2 pointsThat is a great thing you are doing I wish I had that in school I wanted to an auto mechanic but by the time I got to high school it was gone so i took metals class and learned nothing while the teacher sat his desk for two years until they closed that class. People in the school systems need to learn not everyone is born to be a computer wizard. I'm a welder by trade i love my job and think I'm good at it but i failed all my computer classes cause i was bored

1 pointHello all, I've been off for awhile... Well, I acquired a 1957 Schwinn bicycle, and I've been taking it out lately.. Well, lets make a long story short... I was passing a old building, and just happened to glimpse something... I could make out what looked like a pointed hood, but it was much too narrow and stubby to be a car. It had a drive pulley-started on the bottom, and a bullet-like nose. I get off and take a closer look, it's off-red... It has two small wheels up front... I think you guessed it! I walk down the side of it, tall, ag-tires on the back, a hand lift.. And "Ride-Away SR." written along the hood! Did you guess it now??? It was in rough shape... So, what else could I do but knock on the door, and ask about it. An old timer walks out, and says he gave up trying to run it... So, I volunteered myself into getting it going. Really, all it needed was the mag recharged. Well, phew, after that story, he gave me two antique reel mowers. They are Pennsylvania's, one says Pat. Applied for. the other date is 1899. So after that needless story, I have a question. I got both mowers running, or rolling, to say... They cut okay, but I can tell the blades are dull... I love these mowers already, and want to restore them... But they have to work first. So, as far as that goes, I know there is a lathe or to that effect needed to sharpen these. And I can't find anyone who does it anymore.. If anyone here happens to use one of these, have you tried the small kits Home Depot self? It is a compound, brush, and a small crank. Sorry for such a long story, but i figured you'd want to hear about the Sr. The old man now runs it around his property. I already tried, he wouldn't sell it... One of those types. Spenser.

1 pointI see plenty of tractors (C-175s and 417s) with KT17s or KT 17 IIs for around $500 on Craigslist. I picked up a 417-A with a 500 hour KT17 II in it for $250. The sheet metal was rough and the PO could not start the engine due to electrical problems that were easy to fix.

1 pointNice motorcycles you have there! I just had a new rear tire, brake pads, oil change, and S&S carb installed on my 2000 Harley Davidson. Boy oh Boy did that set me back some bucks! I won't be buyiing any more Wheel Horses for a while thats for sure...................... right

1 pointWelcome to Redsquare Arild , I also own a GT14 here in Uk . I am not sure where how you would change the rims on the rear end of the tractor as the GT14 has the 4 hole on the hub& i havent seen many rims around with only 4 holes. Although your tires are cracked thet should still stay inflated until you can maybe afford to get some new tires . maybe you could buy a new tire each month , it will be worth the investment in the long run as the Gt 14 is a great tractor Try & get some pics up on here of your new tractor as we like pics

1 pointRight now its in a 516, but I'm not sure if that's where it will stay. The motor seems to be a good fit for the 3-500 series tractors. This 516 I bought locally a few years ago with all the tins off the Onan engine. The guy had gone nuts looking to replace the points, pulled the engine half apart, gave up and sold it. I got it running again with the Onan, but it was a real smoker and has sat for a couple of years. I've tried to sell it as a roller a couple of times but no-one seems interested. The trans is really good, but its the little 700 Eaton. It has an electric lift on it. A straight tractor but it has the typical 80's "paint peeling off in sheets" issue. I may put an 8 speed in it yet, but I hate to scrap a good trans, even if it is a 700. My general feeling right now is to finish up the diesel installation, leave the tractor as is and try it out as a mower with a 48" deck. I mow 2 1/2 acres and my 520 uses probably $20 of gas to do this. The diesel doesn't have too much aesthetic appeal to me, but if it turns out to be a reliable, economic engine that would be perfect. I'd have the 520 as a back up (which really doesn't have too much aesthetic appeal either!!) and I can go back to playing with my '60's tractors for pleasure! As always these plans are subject to change in the blink of an eye. Wish I could find the time to get my 1054 running, finish the 500 Special, and rebuild the engine in the 14 Auto.

1 pointI know it's still over a week away but right now Accuweather is forecasting sunny with a high of 83 degrees on Friday the 27th and sunny with a high of 80 degrees for Saturday the 28th for Jacksonville. I like that forecast.

1 pointGreat Idea!!! I remember reading a post a few years ago where a member shared using a deck of playing cards tucked in between the rim and tire after deflating. I've done this with excellent results. Whatever method you use do both sides of the tire to avoid over spray on the opposite side.....

1 pointThanks 953. That was made by me when my son was born almost 8 years ago. I worked in a food plant at the time and had access to miles of stainless. I spent many hours pushing his but in the Home Depot race car swing that used to hang from it. Now we are using it for a different type of bonding. The divorce has been pretty rough on me even after 7 years but any time we get together makes my heart smile. Tractors even make it better. Thanks Don and Cowboy...Its coming along
