9 pointsThis is my RJ35 that has just landed in Britain , I bought this tractor from Michael Martino and i also bought the front reel mower from another Redsquare member. Just a few little bits n bobs to do to the tractor to have her up & running but nothing major .
-
2 pointsBeen waiting all day for my call back on this second owner tractor. Chris said he got this little 603 from the original owner years ago. Said all of his kids have grown up on it, his oldest daughter used to sleep in his arms while he was mowing with it. Said all his years living in this area he's never seen anyone with the Wheelhorse banner emblazened across the back window of their truck. You know I had to tell him about the forum and the Biglersville show too. Pretty sure he was having sellers remorse there at the end...whew! I think I got outta there just in time. LOL.
-
2 pointsLooks great! But good luck getting the rest of the tractor to have exact matching red paint. Mike..........
-
2 pointsMike, did you ever consider that you may have an advantage over the rest of us picking these games??? Being Big Ten guys...we tend to pick with our hearts...we want certain teams to win or lose...you have no clue... :) :ychain: You may do better then us through the season being CLUE LESS. Where is my Hockey Stick...I need to putt this golf ball.
-
2 pointsI'm impressed, you are a very positive person. No negative comments about your tractor, what happened to it, or the person(s) that caused it. It is a very nice restoration and you really care about it. Trusting everything will work out, and it will, with your Great attitude.
-
2 pointsJake, aren't you supposed to be picking berries or getting ready for school??? :) Nice find my friend.
-
1 pointUPS just dropped off the new boots from GCT $ 191.00 to my door , Can't wait to get 'em mounted & go for a rip ! HaHa Been working to get the rims ready for the past week .

1 pointI picked up an N.O.S. Hood today coming back from Camp. A fellow Wheelhorse Enthusiast had it and didnt need it. I will save it for the 414 project in the future. The one on the 414 is really rough. Should make life easier.
-
1 pointThanks Craig. I'm very pleased with how they look. Almost as good as a pair of clean originals. I was pretty lucky with the hood. It was straight and only had some small dents and a couple of small cracks and tears. Was able to pound out some of the small stuff, welded up some of the cracks and tears. There's some filler here and there to smooth out the top and the nose. Made a few mistakes painting it, followed by some wet sanding and a respray but I managed to make them disappear. All in all I'm very happy with how it's coming out. Learning a lot for the next one. This is what I started with.
-
1 pointand i thought all of you new zealanders had sheep to keep the grass in pristine condition?
-
1 pointI have a few tractors with tri-ribs and they don't really seem to tear up the grass unless its really wet. My grass/lawn isn't exactly pristine though.
-
1 pointI have two of these Wheel Horse dump carts. One with grease caps and one without. With caps 36 inches wide. Without just under 35 inches wide!
-
1 pointI have a 416-8 with the Onan, and yea she drinks the gas, I go through more mowing than pushing snow, but I don't run her at wide open throttle pushing snow like mowing.... I guess a tank of fuel might last me an hour and some, my yard is small, a tank last me 3 mows front and back...
-
1 pointDisconnect the negative battery cable. Connect a test light between the negative post and the cable you just disconnected. Light off - no short. Light on - shorted somewhere. Unplug one item at a time and reconnect until the light goes out. Short found. Garry

1 pointIowa could beat the 85 Bears today. Sweetness is gone, McMahon is selling ice cream out of an unmarked van and Ditka is close to committing Hari-Kari on one of those idiots next to him on the football pre- game show :violence-duel:
-
1 pointI picked up another boat from my uncle....he just purchased it and only got to burn up 1/4 tank of fuel before he got hit by a jet ski, the insurance company totaled it out and gave him a buy back price of $300 he didn't want it so I purchased it. The only major damage was to the anti-cavitation plate on the outdrive I can just put a hydrofoil on it and no one would know the difference, the jet ski ended up in the windshield so that was all bent up and pulled out but I was able to reconstruct it so it looks like almost new. The boat is a 18' Starcraft by Art Carlson the same person that designed the Glastron Carlson, engine is a V6 that starts the second you hit the key, unfortunately the engine and outdrive are OMC so it makes it a little harder to find parts and they are somewhat expensive, I have sold a lot of OMC parts on ebay and make a lot more on OMC compared to Mercruiser. Big Blue in the backround is a great running boat but it needs a gimble bearing which is $150 for the part and installation I will probably let it sit until next spring since the season is almost over and I have another boat to use for the end of the season.

1 pointRMCIII...your insight to the scores are more then welcome...I do not usually go that far, but I will discuss what and why I think some team will win. Actually, if Cal would have won the Northwestern game...you and I would have the bragging rights this week at 10 and 2. Just 4 minutes to go in the last game...WOW...but this is one game I wanted to lose. Mike...don't worry about picking the correct team...I have used a WeJe (sp) board before and have been successful.. JimD has always been lucky.

1 pointjustin, i have one of the cub cadet mufflers that im going to cut the bracket off and put on kent's 875. i think this is the same as what you are talking about? it came off a k321 that was on some sort of cub cadet tractor. not a real heavy muffler and cleaned up it should look ok. aim is to make it quieter than the pepper pot on it now....... heres how it looks now. havent tried it on the 875 yet to see how much quieter it is.

1 pointsteve, enjoying reading your thread on getting the c 160 going....... good luck on the steering wheel....

1 pointThanks Jim! At least I know where some teams are ranked now.
-
1 pointVery nice Craig looks very clean. You should have fun with it for years to come. Gary B.....
-
1 pointCraig; I'm sure you are probably aware of this little gem of a cleaning solution, after being in the military. Once you wash it, break out the never dull. It takes away any fading, scuff marks that the washing will not take out, removes light scratches. Once that is done, use some light rubbing compound. After done with rubbing compound, find a nice wax from here. http://www.autopia-carcare.com/ You can not find any of these products in any store anywhere. Yes there are Meguiars products listed, but you won't find them in any store. I like the Ultima products. But there are other products that others like also.
-
1 pointYep, we all just pick the teams we think will win each week and hope for the best. Comments about scores, closeness, and upsets are welcome. I don't comment too mch about future games because I'm not as studied as some of the guys. I just had a lucky week! Mike, here's a link to the Big Ten schedule. It also give the results each week after the games. http://espn.go.com/college-football/conferences/schedule/_/id/5/big-ten-conference

1 pointHi chaps could someone please point me in the right direction; I have a 4 speed Raider 10 and would like to find the exact model number for parts reference etc. Also the rear hub has busted, I have purchased a replacement 1" hub (£50) and am currently attempting to reassemble the hub, the woodruff key(s) appear to be too narrow for the slot on the axle and I am unsure as to the way forward, I want to avoid stripping the other axle to see how it is assembled as it seems to be ok. Is there a diagram anywhere showing how the woodruff keys should be inserted? Thank you for any help you can give Rob

1 pointOnly 2 Big Ten Teams lost this 1st weekend...Purdue lost to Cincinnati & Iowa lost to Northern Illinois... there are 3 guys that are 10 & 2...for this weeks bragging rights... bitten Brrly! JimD there are 4 guys that are 9 & 3... Hodge71 Papaglide RMCIII Stevasaurus there is 1 guy that is 7 & 5 Squonk there is one guy that is 6 & 6 BK-Scouter I have to tell you that the last game of the day...Northwestern vs California...if California would have won (and it was up in the air until the last 4 minutes) the bragging rights would have changed dramatically. What a difference one game makes. Everyone picked Nebraska, Michigan, and Ohio St. to win. The games that made a difference...Purdue lost to Cincinnati...Penn St. beat Syracuse...NIU beat Iowa...and Northwestern beat California.

1 pointMore than likely, you have an import; your Raider was made over here in South Bend. The Wheel Horse plant in Belgium started production in '69 and ran for only a couple of years. I believe everything was in English sizes. • The A, B, C and D refer to the size and class of the tractor; The A–series model being for very small yards and lawns and the B for a little larger size yards and lawn, both were mainly intended to mow lawns and pull a small cart, some B's could also plow snow, both A and B mostly had pressed metal frames (there are a few exceptions to this). The C could basically do anything, it was a real Garden Tractor, could mow all day, and use any implement, plow or blow snow or rototill, it could tow heavy loads and had a main frame of 2" angle iron welded together. The D was a very heavy-duty commercial type Garden Tractor, sometimes using an small automotive engine for power. The the early 80's, letters switched to 100, 200, 300, 400 and also 500–series tractors. • For a date, usually the original engine is the most accurate. We have books from Kohler (or Wed site) that can date the engine to the day it was made, and then it took about 60 days to get installed on the tractor. Wheel Horse records are not always that accurate and have lots of exceptions. Post those numbers and we can help you date it, as well as more photos (and one with hood open, from top). • Look at the posts from England in the Euro Section here on RED SQUARE and contact some of those people; also post your location in the "Member Map" in the red bar near the top.

1 pointDon't worry - ( don't listen to that Toro dealer either ) Steve and these guys will get you through this - I rebuilt an 8 speed earlier this year and knew zero about doing a trans ...I was afraid of not getting it back together as well....these guys won't steer you wrong .

1 pointYou do know how to make a grown man cry! Great finds, I wonder how many people walked past the RJ no knowing what it was.
-
1 pointWelcome to Red Square. We have quite a few members in the UK that are active and helpful. One problem is that your tractor numbers on that side of the pond do not necessarily match up with the numbers on this side. Being a Raider 10...4 speed though, it is most likely a 1968/1969. As far as the wood ruff key...if you find one larger...metric is probably the problem...you can file it down to fit. What numbers do you have.on the engine and what numbers do you have on the dash tower??? Does it look like this??? This is a 1972 and has the 8 speed trans. The Raiders were more or less a precursor to the "C" and "B" series. The "B" and "C" series started in 1974.

1 pointok here we go... Woke up this morning with a pile of raw wood in my truck that needed to be sealed. Just need to pick up 2" hitch and done.. Decided to go with Maple Ply stained and cleared all sides at this time until I get the cash to go buy the rough Mahogany...I still think it looks damn good..
-
1 pointJake, if anybody's keeepin' score you gotta be champ. Must be some great stuff hid all over the place!
-
1 pointAre you using a metric size key? Don't know if there may be a difference betweeen SAE an metric, but that may be the case since you are in Europe. Good luck. Hope this will .
-
1 pointNot certain if all keys on rear axel are #5 woodruff or not. Have axels on a 66 1" and 76 1 1/8" with #5 woodruff key, approx 1/4" thick x approx 1" long, fit is snug - snug, no side wobble. In parts couldn't verify any dimensions (manuals section) Thanks to Garry's post that key lists as #15 instead of #5....edited
-
1 pointThe Woodruff Key should be a snug fit, it should just fit it -- any 'slop' or looseness would make it a lot weaker. The Woodruff Key is inserted so it is straight-level in and above the shaft, and the hub is gently pushed or tapped in, the rear hub is positioned and normally pushed in to even with the end of the axle shaft. The Key is about 1/8th inch above the axle shaft when on, and into the hub about that same 1/8th inch (drawing above does not show this). Good Luck, it should be a very easy task installing it, (with the correct Key); and, Welcome to Red Square.

1 pointA Raider 10 with a 4 speed transmission: 1970 1-6041 with a Tecumseh HH100-115095B and a Wheel Horse 5071 transmission. Any of this sound like your GT? Where are my manners... , and

1 pointHeres the nose, all painted. It looks great, and its fits better the the stock one. It did take off 10 lbs off the front end.
-
1 pointI've been staying after work to sandblast some small parts . Got most of all it painted. Not a great deal of forward momentum though. I've also been working on putting brass bushings in place of the factory plastic ones. Should make for a rattle free machine, i hope. Here's were it is as of now, and the bushings I've replaced .

1 pointWell, This guy Chris Rose made the mold from parts I sent him. and the deal was he was going to make me the part out of fiber glass, but then I was thinking carbon fiber. Well he only charged me what it cost him for carbon. So Chris also makes a front end for one of the newer wheelhorses also a rear fender.
