3 pointsHi guys, Finally got some new tires on my tub carts. I put on new carlisle sawtooths with tubes. The rims on it were ok...but I wanted to paint them. I put a good coat of primer on, and base/clear coated the rims. The paint is a little off from the original, but are good enough for these. I might end up restoring one of these carts, not sure yet. Here's a couple pictures. Jake

3 pointsOk... Back to the show....... Since there's a few new guys coming this year... I just thought it might be helpful to see this. you can get official information and showground map off the website http://www.pioneerpowershow.com but that doesn't really show what you guys need to know. It's best to get in at the Alternate gate, in the parking lot. Go in , turn left and go about 100 feet. That's where we set up. Fill in along the building first, and then across the lane as needed. We're supposed to have the whole area, but some other brands often end up filling in across the street too. First, here's the location of the show grounds, just off Hwy 26 between LeSueur and Montgomery on 265th Ave, just a few miles north of LeCenter. GPS address 34605 265th Ave, Le Sueur, Mn And here's the actual grounds.....One thing to remember, as you look at this map, North is to the left, East is up. Forecast this morning looked like a warm weekend... slight chance of showers Friday, Nice Saturday and potentially rainy Sunday... but heck, that's nearly a week away. It'll change! Looking forward to seeing you guys. Don't forget your lawn chairs!!

2 pointsFavorite grounds crew story. I had to mow the greens which meant getting up with the chickens. It was cold one morning and the fog was thicker than peanut butter. I'm all bundled up on the greens mower and just finished the 4th green. I could barley see to mow. I'm heading down 5's fairway and I can see at most 10 feet in front of me. All of a sudden a golf ball lands in front of me and I swerve to miss it. I stop and think to my self "Who in the hell is golfing in this?" A min. later here comes an old guy in his 70's carrying his clubs wearing a a t-shirt and shorts! :scared-eek:

1 pointWell I finally got a chance to wrench on my latest scarf, my 1956 RJ35. It had some wrong parts on it that I had to remove and replace. The seat was wrong and the gas tank too. The rims are painted cream color now but will have to be stripped down to bare metal and painted the correct color of black. I removed the 1965 style hood decals and installed a new set of Mayhew's 1955-57 style hood decals. I looked at all of the original condition RJ35's on this site and they all seem to have their decals in this location there abouts. Most of the restored RJ35's on this site have their decals in a few different spots, so I went with what I think is the more correct location. But I am sure whoever(Elmer or Cecil!!) installed them back then, didn't have an exact spot in which to put a few hundred on, day after day for 3 years! So they vary a little bit. I also removed the muffler heat shield which I don't think they had in 1956. It got in the way of the drive handle so I don't want it on there, I'll put in on my parts shelf for a later model machine. My buddy Packrat straightened out the hood which was caved in pretty bad and twisted too. After he beat it with a BFH and body dolly for an hour or so, I restored a lot of the paint on this tractor without repainting anything. The paint on the hood was all mangled up from gas getting spilled on it over the years and someone laid a rubber hose on it and it decayed and melted into the paint. The fuel sediment bowl leaked gas all over the frame and it looked bad. The paint resto/repairs turned out great and I will put some wax on the hood and frame and it will look awesome! Thanks to Clay for identifying this original Clinton engined machine as a late production 1956 RJ35 WH.!! I love these rare style of front tires, they are the early style Generals. The sidewalls are little different than the later style of Generals. BFG bar lugs on the rear. The belt guard should be the open style so I may change that around. I also changed the exhaust system, but it still isn't correct for a Clinton, but that is what I had laying around. I haven't tried to get it running yet since the gas tank still needs painted. Gotta redo the drive handle too. How's it look? KJ

1 pointWhat do you think??? no... Are you talking about where the axle meets the side plate??? Are you sure that is where it is leaking?? If so...what does the rest of the weld look like??? This could be fixed on one end of the spectrum...or the other. Anything from a little bondo, JB Weld...to tearing it down and re-welding the axle tube. You really need to take a good look at that weld and determine if it is a weak weld or just a little hole. It is fixable no matter what you find...either a band aid...or a little surgery. A few good pictures would help if you need a hand.

1 pointThere is an over flow plug on the side of the trans near the back axles...when you add oil through the top...put the plug back in when the oil starts to seep out that hole...usually about 1 1/2 qts, but that is the correct level. Make sure the trans is level...wheels sitting on the ground. 90wt oil...80/140 is OK. Jake...we posted at the same time...should you not be in school now...next week. I have learned you well my friend.

1 pointNice job! Love the 50" grader! I've cleaned up our 1/2 mile common driveway many a time with it. Leveled off a few areas in the yard. It's probably the best accessory WH made!

1 pointI will have to disagree with this statement, finding a early round hood with it's original Tecumseh engine can bring receive a top dollar figure. Since the Lauson/ Tecumseh engine used a cast aluminum engine block they did have the tendency to wear out faster then the cast iron blocked Kohler or Clinton thus making them now harder to find. A 702 or 753 with it's Kohler can be a easy find BUT a 552 or 653 with an original Tecumseh ....... well now that is a find ! Wild Bill Richmond, VA

1 pointWhat a great time. Food was good, but not as good as the gathering of friends. Thanks for the pics Zeek. That wallet was fat with grocery store cards, not tractor cash. I ended up coming home with another Ranger thanks to buckrancher. Amazing what a carburetor and a little cash will get you.

1 pointHad a great time at Olde Tyme Days! Good to see some friends! Dinner behind buckrancher's rig with jimt1971 and wife and rmaynard Me (Zeek) and Bob . . . I was trying to get his wallet full of tractor cash, but he wasn't having it . . . Mrs. Zeek (Sue), Bob and Mrs. Buckrancher (Jo)

1 pointI agree with you one 100%!! Winter nights are my absolute favorite time to be out and riding tractors. Some of my buddies don't want winter to come but I'm the opposite. I'm glad I'm not alone. WINTER NIGHTS!!!!

1 pointSnorkel air intakes and problems with chaff on the shrouds reminded me of a similar problem I had, only in a different area. My D-180 would not get a hint of debris on the shroud but would suck gobs into the air filter as it was mounted on the motor in its factory position. I would have to blow it off after every mowing - especially later into the summer when the grass tended to get drier. After some deliberation - and poking around in the scrap metal box, I came up with this solution. A piece of 1 1/2" exhaust pipe welded up to remote the air filter out from under the hood, it works GREAT. I can go a couple seasons without the filter showing any sign of collecting chaff.
