6 pointsHere it is. I have tractor envy. It's on the home screen of my phone. Probably should have taken a few more to get detail, but you get the idea.

4 pointsBoy, I can't begin to say how great it was to see everyone! To see old faces and meet new ones is to me the best part of the show. I hate to think of all the great folks I would have never met had it not been for a little tractor . . . I hate to mention anyone in particular, because I don't want leave anyone out so thanks to everyone I got to share some time and stories with. Great hearing about others lives and experiences! Two that deserve special thanks in my opinion are the folks from WHCC that make this happen every year and time commitment it takes and Bill Pearson who acts as our MC for the parades and photo shoots and is willing to stand and bake until all the tractors are through It was also great to reunite with those of you that I see at some of the other shows throughout the year like Bob, Brian & Jo, Bill, Jim & Karen and Charlie. Here are some pictures (click to enlarge) Wednesday night ready to roll Thursday morning setup Da show Bob & Brian's immaculate heards You know who The 701 boys Our aerial photographer Vin's beauty The modifieds TT The bad boy WH Rollback has a new owner, but let him share that This the only insecticide sprayer of this type I have ever seen. I was told it was hooked into the exhaust for delivery of the spray. I guess at some point they realized breathing exhaust AND insecticide wasn't a good idea Stevebo and mini Stevebo Start 'em young BIG group this year! Hope to see you all again next year!!

4 pointsI'm sure that the Board is looking at this post and I hope that they read it as constructive and not as a complaint, because it isn't a complaint at all. Everyone wants the WHCC to be successful and continue with the Annual show. In my opinion, it would be a mistake for them to have a forum, and not because of anything to do with RedSquare. Once you open the doors to thousands of members, by default you begin to solicit opinions on how things should be (see this thread) and ultimately will cause conflicts amongst the members. As I know full well, you can't have 8,000 - 10,000 people all agree on anything. Even if RedSquare had an annual show, after a while the original members would be upset with the evolution, while the newer members would think it's great. I see it everyday with the forum itself so a show would be no exception. While I don't know all that happens during the meetings or what else they offer other than the show (there's my suggestion for the WHCC) having a very small handful of people making decisions on a show then putting out the information is far more effective to gather the masses. Making membership easier would greatly enhance their revenue. I could put a poll up, but I'd be willing to bet that for every 10 RedSquare members who visited their website *maybe* 1 filled out the membership application and sent it in. Had a simple on-line form been available, with pay through PayPal been available I would bet that number would be closer to 3 to 5. The added volume MORE than makes up for the PayPal fees. I know that I would have been a member long ago if there was an on-line form. As for their website, I have no issues with discussing other websites or forums EXCEPT in a negative light. Voicing a recommendation to enhance the site is fine, but we continue to support WHCC and ALL other forums / websites which promote Wheel Horse and Garden Tractors. RedSquare is an offering for people to visit, we are NOT in competition with any forum or website. I have very strong opinions on how a forum should be managed, and I act on that. For the WHCC site I highly respect the man who has put it together and am 100% certain that he can make any of the technical changes if requested. He is a highly respected member here, and I was very glad to meet him this past Saturday. I am fully aware of the size and reach that RedSquare has in the Wheel Horse community. 5 years ago, I am sure that at the show if you mentioned RedSquare, people said who? Now I would be surprised if you heard, RedSquare what? So the intent of this post was to avoid any confusion regarding the show as a RedSquare event, because we have grown so large and to insure that the Wheel Horse Collectors Club continues to receive FULL credit for the organization of the event and the membership to insure its continuation.

4 pointsDave, Jason is correct (as usual) the 520 Articulated is a Bob Rock creation that he custom built for me. The project was started 2 years ago and now that it has made its debut I'll do a build thread on it. There are several contribuitors that need to be thanked, but this tractor would not exist if not for Bob. Pics to come soon.

3 pointsWell, as much as I didn't want to sell it, he wanted to buy it more. So the current president of WHCC is the proud new owner of the custom 2 seater. I felt better about letting it go to someone that will definitely enjoy it. After the sale, Bill had a huge smile from ear to ear and it was fun to watch him enjoy it from the second he drove off with it. He opened up the Saturday parade driving his new ride and had a sign on the front which read " El Presidente's Car". I believe it will now be in attendance at future WHCC shows for years to come which also tilted my decision to let it go. It's getting tough to think of new customs that haven't already been done but hopefully there will be something new for 2014. ONLY spare or already damaged parts are used so there is no cutting or hacking of good tractors.
-
3 pointsNot for nuthin, but...I heard it suggested at the show... being a survivor like me, Karl Lyon should be the next recipient in line to wear it. LOL! I'm pretty sure his "safety crew" chief would approve.

2 pointsThanks to John (Wallfish) for allowing me to use his camera to take this video. Overall Brennan did pretty good for a 6 year old. There were a few times that were close calls as he seemed to get distracted with all the goings on while he was riding his tractor. He did have one accident so to speak. There was a sunshade tent next to ours (which I think is a RS members) and it had dark anchor ropes holding it in place. Well Brennan did not see them and took one out with the tractor and by the time he realized what happened he pulled the back corner to the front and broke the frame. As Baerpath said ("it was a $100 lesson"). I bought the broken tent from the owners for a new one. Anyhow...here is the video of him talking with Wild Bill. As you can tell his was a bit nervous but overall pretty good for a 6 year old. http://s1287.photobucket.com/user/WHBeatle/media/DSCN3976_zpsffc654b6.mp4.html

2 pointsi figured i could put it on my rj that i will use for some snowplowing this winter if we get any snow.it is a little tricky getting into but once i am seated one pull and the engine fires up and off i went down the block for a ride.the plow is foot operated to raise and lower it so i do not need to reach outside .

2 pointsSaturday started out as it usually does, up early, eat breakfast, load up on coffee, and head to the horses. Didn't take a lot of pictures on this day, but this wasn't going to be any regular Saturday at the show. We were all in for a surprise. I had been talking with Mike (Sparky) a couple of days before the show, and he was disappointed that he couldn't make it this year, but happy to have his first-born graduating from high school. Well, I happened to look up from my display area, and there he was. I went to say hello, and just as I got there, another person turned to face me and it was Karl. You could have knocked me over with a feather. Glad that both you guys could make it. Karl (Nylyon) and Mike (Sparky) Brian (buckrancher), Mike (Sparky) Karl's daughters, and Karl (Nylyon) A young TT wanna-be David Cline, winner of the Commando 8 I don't know the name of the 701 winner. Thanks to the WHCC crew for putting on another great show. Thanks also for the two raffle prizes that I won. I never win anything good, but this time I lucked out with a copy of "Straight From The Horses Mouth" and a case of oil. I've started counting down the days until next year.

1 pointI am an early riser, so at 5:00 a.m. I was up and by 5:30 a.m. I had showered and eaten breakfast. Then it was off to take some shots before the place got crowded. Our campsite at 5:30 a.m. I'm the only one up. Here's the new and improved "Maynard Hotel" This year's raffle tractors were a 701 and a Commando 8 Zeeks "Cheese Grater" My B-100, 701, and Commando 8 Brian's Delorians As the sun came up, folks started arrive, as did more tractors. Brian's stainless steel 701 whfan74 (Scott) posing with his 701 The Seniors line up for their group picture And another senior shows up...that guy is everywhere... Wallfish (John) and Buckrancher (Brian) Jeff Kane takes some aerial shots The 1961's line up for their group pictures with owners TT and Buckrancher There was a pedal pull for the little kids... Ice Cream social for all the kid (old & young) A campfire to relax around... and at the end of a long day...God Bless the USA

1 pointVery nice! A good working Horse from a great guy too. The '73 "No Name" Automatic is a great Stallion! Congrats on your good fortune.

1 pointI will get my pictures (all 4 or so of them) uploaded probably tomorrow, but I wanted to take a minute to say THANK YOU to the members who were at the show. You all were so warm and welcoming to me and my girls, we are so fortunate to be associated with such wonderful people. I met so many of you today, and am completely humbled by the community that RedSquare has created, and I am so happy to be a part of it. It was so awesome to shake hands with you and I truly wish that the day would have been longer (and the sun a little less intense) to have spent more time with you all. Late last week, I made a decision that we would come to the show on Saturday and told very few of the plans. I was dropping little hints during the week of the intentions and had a wonderful surprise on Friday when Mike (Sparky) decided to come with me to the show. It's always great to spend time with Mike and today was no exception. I didn't get to see a lot of the tractors at the show, and honestly it wasn't my intention to do that. My full intention was to meet as many of my friends here as I possibly could, and thank you for being there, your support of the forum and continued support for me as I continue to recover. I will cherish this day for quite some time, not only meeting all of you, but being part of a RedSquare group picture (can't wait to see it) and watching my girls sell some parts for Glen Pettit (that was SO cool Glen, and they had the time of their life. Thank you for trusting them it meant a lot to them and to me!) Hopefully I'll get the pictures from my phone tomorrow, but I wanted to say how happy today was for me, I am so fortunate to be associated with such a great place!

1 pointI think I would be leery of using brass to replace steel in a gun part. I worked in one shop that made firing pins for a major gun manufacturer out of stainless, which was then heat treated to harden it. Brass could be a big problem. Just something to think about. Maybe some more of the on site machinists will chime in here with more expertise. I sure haven't learned everything yet.
-
1 pointThose are NICE! I would be slow to sell them off, once you have been around them for a while you will become addicted to . .

1 pointNow you are into the meat of trouble shooting. Once you determine the voltage drop is out of range, you and pin point it by doing the same test on every wire in the circut and narrow it down to the exact wire or component.

1 pointIt's not fun, but when I do mine I do it from underneath and use long needle nose pliers to put the clip in with. Once you get it on, you may not want to ever take it off, but like anything, if you do it a couple times it gets easier.
-
1 pointI used heat and a vice to straighten mine and didn't have an issue. I would just check carefully for cracks and scrap it if you find any.
-
1 pointLike Wild Bill says cleaning of the brake band housing is the most important step. Use acetone or some other strong cleaner to remove all the oil residue, grease, dirt etc. I used two part epoxy also and it has held up great.

1 pointCan anyone give me any idea on "rare models" or what is good/bad to find? Every tractor in the shop is in the condition that these are in, and yes, pictures will be posted as soon as I get them moved. I know one of the smaller ones, about the size of the L157 has a neat little pulley driven generator on the front of it with 2 110v receptacles on it.
-
1 pointTo perform a voltage drop test - hook up the multimeter from the (+) battery terminal to the starter terminal. Place the meter on DC volts and select a low voltage range - say 2 volts. If your meter is an "auto ranging" meter, the meter will select the most appropriate range when it senses the voltage being measured. Remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug to prevent the engine from starting and running. Crank the engine for a few seconds and read the voltage off the multimeter. The meter reading may bounce around a little as different strokes of the 4 cycle engine will make different demands on the starter and hence cause different amounts of power to be lost in the wiring and solenoid. In this case, an analog (pointer needle) meter is better to use to obtain a reading. The pointer will tend to "smooth out" the pulsing voltage and make it easier to obtain an approximate reading of the voltage drop. If your digital meter has a min / max function, use it. The max reading will record the highest voltage drop measured during the testing process. Here is a typical reading when all the wiring, terminals and solenoid are all functional. (click on image to enlarge) Notice the meter reading is very low - about 0.1 to 0.2 volts. Now check out a questionable voltage drop The voltage lost between the battery and the starter is much larger - over 2 volts. Any significant voltage loss can usually be attributed to corrosion or loose connections in the starter circuit wiring.
-
1 pointWOW, Jim. That horse really did a great job pushing that old shed. I am really liking videos and those are amazing.
-
1 pointI would use a good 2 part epoxy and make sure both surfaces are clean ..... REAL CLEAN to make sure you get all the oil out from the pores in the band and brake lining. I have reinstalled a lot of old type bands this way to keep the tractor original. Wild Bill Richmond, VA

1 pointI would like to THANK the Redsquare members for the card in the picture. It meant a lot to me and Tammy. And we really miss being there but plan on being there next year. If every thing goes well this week we will be HOME Friday morning.
-
1 pointZeek , I think you got the most "flavor" in your Big Show photos! Thanks for taking and posting all these!
-
1 pointI have used JB Weld, but had better luck with POR15. JB doesn't really like to stick to the fiberous material and POR15 soaks into it to make a pretty much permanent bond. As for the material... I used a piece of leather from an old belt. It does the job nicely and is in your closet...no need to order it.

1 pointi DID drive through the marathon! they had rt. 30 blocked off before my motel so i left the motel turned rt. went to the light & the cops gave me a nasty look while i waited for a break in the runners to continue down 30 to the show. No ticket
