Had to move the new horse hauler and pull the sr out in order to get the 701 in first getting ready for the show. While she was out took her for a little cruise and it was a nice ride for sure. I also picked up a 312-8 on fFriday with fireman along with a few other goodies. Here are some pics.

Joe, my username is Griff, it's also my nickname as my surname is Griffin. The " Coffin-Dodger " comes from the quaint English term for an old person not wanting to die yet, ie dodging ( avoiding) being put in a coffin. (Casket- Dodger would presumably be an American old person). As for artful, i've managed to evade the grim reaper up 'till now so artfull coffin-dodger might seem appropriate. As i've started saying this year " I'll be 53 and don't smell of wee ". Garry, i must get around to finding the serial no's but it wont be this week 'cos i'll be too busy.

Do you know the model # of the Peerless tranny?...I might have the axles ..from a junk tranny that came out of a B-111 WH....pm me... As a side note...i wouldn't spend a lot of $$ on a Peerless...the Benotite grease inside is pricieeeee...best to buy a "working" tranny

Mower spindle grease fittings The 1030 grease fitting is 1/4"-28 and straight. The 4566 is a long 90 degree with 1/8" pipe thread. There have been about 46 different part numbers for Wheel Horse grease fittings. Garry

These transaxles were used in lots of other brand tractors as well as wheel horse. You may have an easier time finding a complete transaxle as few people actually part them out. But as far as wheel horse models go they were used in 200 series and the workhorse 1100 series tractors. Probobly a few others also.

Hi Tom Here's a photo prob from somewhere on the forum that I collected when I was thinking of making one but never got round to it (yet). The more common type that seems to get home made most often is the one top left, somewhere on the site are the dimensions for making it but I'm sure someone will chip in with these again. Hope this helps. Andy

Look at the rj/suburban slot hitches. They were just welded steel before Wheel Horse made that a cast iron part. C channel over flatstock with a flatstock tab for the cable to connect. Braced and welded to a pipe to pivot. Heres an example i had handy in photobucket. Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk HD

Long overdue for a video. Wanted to make sure it was running good. There is a rough part (richness) of the throttle transitioning from idle to high, and I have not found any dirt in the carb. I rechecked. So I hope when I buy the air filter housing + new filter that I can adjust that out. Fingers crossed. I let it break in at half throttle for 20 minutes, changed the oil, then threw a 42" SD deck on and really worked it hard for 3 hrs. I did not have an air filter so I could only go in the heavy grass and thankfully it was still a touch wet. I also set the points to .017 to reduce the good old kohler rattle as I did NOT change out the side crank bearings. I have also changed the oil like 4 times hoping at one point it will stop coming out metallic. For some reason a fresh honed kohler shreds iron faster than anything. The blow by has reduced, and thankfully it never burned any oil. Sometimes they will for a bit until the rings seat in. I just wonder how many hours until the blow by goes away for good? Enjoy!!! The rattle is the hood.
