2 pointsAhhhh, life is going so smoothly at times it gets scary. The crack SOI University crew of nature's A students had the department running like a fine watch. Clean work areas, great quality posts and top shelf quality assistance going out daily to tractor forums all over the net. Along comes the dreaded knock on the office door and in walks the inspectors and auditors looking for evidence of our compliance to current day "diversity and sensitivity requirements". Long story short, we will need to hire a few more "diverse" characters to help out with electrical issues in the tractor world. With the frequency of battery related issues this time of year, we figured it would be of value to have folks "badgered" a little more into checking their battery capacity before doing any further electrical troubleshooting. We were sending this guy down to help out Tankman do a battery load test on his 520H. I hope he makes it without falling over into the gutter again.

2 pointsThough I am a Horse-A-Holic and enjoy the forum and sharing all things wheel Horse related with all our friends on the forum, We also from time to time like to share some of our other interests with all our RedSquare friends. We have one silly a#$%% Golden Retriever puppy named buddy, Here is a short video of Lola trying to teach him a few new tricks. http://youtu.be/RWoVVmSd3OQ

2 pointsDoes anyone else remember when light-colored plugs and exhaust meant an engine was running perfect? In the case of the P series Onan, it might be an intake manifold leak - but you also might need to get in there and really clean the high speed circuit in the carb. Since it might be wise to remove and soak the carb, replacement of all intake gaskets should be done then. You can check for vacuum leaks, but I will not tell you what product to use due to the liability. If you Google it, you will find various suggestions on what to spray in the area to find the leak(s).

1 pointHi guys, First off, this is not a complete restoration. I have been working on repainting a rj58 I picked up this summer from duke. When I got this tractor it had a locked up tranny, no motor, and missing quite a few parts. I thought I was going to end up parting it out but it has ended up being saved! I just blasted, put a nice coat of primer, and spray bombed with rustoleum on this one. The tranny was gone through, and I have a k91 that came with a parts tractor that is going on it. I am hoping to have this one going in the next month. I still have to fix some stuff on the hood, paint the front wheels which I do have a set of tri ribs to put on, paint the engine, and a couple other small things. Here are a few pics. a before shot as of this afternoon... k91 that needs painted and some new gaskets.

1 pointI have the 26 ton TSC splitter. It looks almost exactly like that one. I've had it for about 7 years now and I've never found anything it wouldn't split. I went there to buy the 22 ton but they had just sold the last one so I talked them into selling me the 26 ton for the same price. To be honest, once you get to 20 tons there's not much you can't split.

1 pointWelcome buddy, I wondered if it was you so I had to go over to Lawnsite to see and saw your post about the tractor there. This site is just as addicting!

1 pointI am the 2nd owner of this tractor. Bought it off of the original owner (who was my neighbor) in 2001. Has a 48" belly mower, 50" tiller, 60" rear mower, plow, wheel weights, and Brinly sleeve hitch adapter. Hours are unknown cause the hour meter stopped working years before I bought the tractor. The current meter shows 860 hours. Kohler K532 Engine has never been gone into but the hydro pump was rebuilt about 3 years ago. The rear end has been gone into twice. Great tractor!!!!!!!!

1 pointIt is not your transmission...that is not how they are built. I think with it in gear and the clutch out, you are turning the engine over until you hit the compression stroke, when you push the tractor. That would be about a foot. If you take the drive belt off, you can push that horse around all day in gear. We used to push old cars with manual transmissions that would not start, and pop the clutch to get the trans to turn over the engine and start the vehicle.

1 pointCan you guys post a schedule? I;d really like to see one of your live stand-up's.

1 pointFinally got it all the way down even though the pic shows the transaxle still on. Gonna powerwash the frame and then blast it and then the tranny off to the parts cleaner at work for a good cleaning and flush.

1 pointI have a 520HC. They are geared to run faster than the 520H which is the main reason I like mine. I also like the older stick on the floor versus the newer shift on the column. The 520HC was the first 520 to have the swept front axle. It may be good to find out about the engine rebuild and what was done and how many hours are on it since the rebuild. The hood has a dent in the front that can be easily taken care of. It looks to be well worth the asking price if it runs good. If you sold the blade with extension kit and the deck you would likely have a very good deal on one the best tractors wheel horse made. If it were closer to me I would grab it.

1 pointI am so sorry,I forgot my own sensitivity training, Make that Badger urine.
-
1 pointyou need to send that new guy for some safety training, I dont think those safety glasses are NIOSH approved and where is his respirator. The battery badger isnt wearing any gloves or face shield, he may create a spark and burn his little paw or get a little caustic material in his eyes. There is some disgrunteled competition around that my turn you into OSHA, whistle blower.com. .You will have to put up gaurdrails and toeboards all through the trees and get all the help little safety harnesses while they are climbing around. And dont forget to send theMSDS's with the sprays, ointments and punguents. Is there a MSDS for badger piss?(probably)

1 pointSo apparently the term "subcompact" means "bigger than a garden tractor?" thats a bit confusing..How did that terminology come about? Is it something like: "the smallest versions of *big* tractors, but not counting garden tractors"? When I read "subcompact for mowing" I was thinking of something like this! Scot

1 pointSeems to me that "Redsquare" members cover an extremely wide area all across the USA and even includes members from other countries as well. Having one specific location for a "Redsquare Show" just doesn't seem to make sense as it would be practically (meaning geographically) impossible to have all or most Redsquare members attend such a show no matter where it would be held. Doesn't it make more sense to have a "Redsquare membership gathering" at any and all garden tractor shows where you find Wheel Horse tractors?

1 pointI am another one for further south and west for location, Maybe indianapolis or louisville or go way west st.louis. there are several members in missouri and Illinois, and kansas, Iowa, that have a hard time making it to the action.
