As u can see she is finally sitting on all 4 it has been a fun project to this point. I am just putting it back together for now. I am cleaning the grease and oil off of 46 years so when I do restore her it will be ready to paint and I am going to buff with compound then buff wax all big parts that I can to bring out some color. The hood came out ok as I earlier posted. I have all the decals for this and the 1057 that I have in a painting process. I bought a big pile of decals from Terry for both of them. I only need the shifter Plate decal for the PTO. I hope u enjoy the picks. Gary B.......................

I have the same problem as some of you other fellows have. A cold garage and 2 vehicles in it and 4 tractors. So I have been doing the smaller stuff at work so I can move forward. Everything has been blasted, I do that at lunch time, and primed and painted.I stay after work for awhile and paint. I have a hood over the work table for contact cement fumes and it is great for painting.Next I think I will do the front and mid mount Tach-a-matics. Not much to show for a weeks work, I no, but at least moving forward. Using Rustoleum Regal Red. Its gonna take me a long time to complete. I need to keep this a roller for awhile yet.

Start at the wire which hooks to the trigger on the solenoid with it unhooked at the point it hooks to the trigger and work your way back from there with a continuity tester. It will work you back through the safetys till you get to the switch. If you make it back to the key switch with continuity AND you have power from the battery to the switch then its probably time for a switch. Or start at the battery going to switch and follow the path through to the solenoid. If you have my luck which ever end you choose to start from will be the furthest from the problem. If you read between the lines above you can take a shortcut !

got the front ones all mounted up on the tractor and i like the way it looks. while waiting for the front bearings for the last week the rears were taken off and the old wheels installed temporarily. definitely something was missing and the tractor lost that 'tough' look without the wide wheels. one or two of my other red ones might end up growing some wide wheels as well, but i have enough on my plate right now, so they will have to wait a bit..... i hunted around for some sealed front wheel bearings and ended up with some from an ebay seller. since i cant link to the actual listing, just search for...... 2 FLANGED BEARINGS OD 1-3/8", ID 3/4", WILL FIT GO KARTS AND MORE, IH-384881,NEW these are stamped 'china' bearings but look to be reasonable quality and aren't pressed steel but machined, and they look like they should hold up ok..... heres the pics. i need to get the tractor outside and take some more when time allows..

Another thing. Unless they have a roadblock set up and are checking everybody, don't give them a reason to pull you over. Don't speed, drive erratic, don't overload your trailer and have good tie downs.

Thanks for the welcome bowtieguy. Our sweet puppies name is Buddy. He is a Christmas present from my girls. We had to put our beloved Chocolate Lab Katie 12 1/2 yrs old to sleep on 11/25/12. She was not a dog she was family, house was so empty without her, even the grandkids were having a tough time. So my girls and my hubby decided I needed a new friend. My girls kidnapped me on 11/30/12 drove me 2 1/2 hrs to meet our new baby. He is a golden retriever and a god send. We love him to pieces. He is 19 wks old and weighs 40 lbs and yes he is a lap puppy. The vet estimates his weight from 90 - 100 lbs when he is grown. And yes he will still be my lap puppy. I will always post updated photos of him as he grows.

I know its all about the local market and all that and that is why I think when someone asks a whats it worth question its probably a good idea if the local guys chime in. New Jersey and CT have similar market values on tractors from what I have seen. Sometimes its worth the trip too travel for a good machine if you are convinced that it is good. I have driven 10hr round trips for a good deal. That 12 yr old kid that probably painted that C-175 is probably the same person that thinks its worth 2200.00 You can ask whatever you want. Now, I'm not whining at all because I didn't get any offers on my tractor. At 700 or best offer it was a GIFT to someone. If anyone actually looked at it in person they would be amazed. I was only using mine as a comparison. I don't need to sell it. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

I would lean strongly toward the K-301 / M-12 engines. 20 years from now when those china diesels are beer cans and seamless gutters, those old iron Kohler singles will still be chugging away.

Your right about that Keith. I just hope I dont have to pull another set for awhile. No oxy/acet Forest but i did use the Propane. And did bump the big bolt on my hub puller with a borrowed air hammer to shake it loose. Thanks Jake. There both blasted, primed, painted and chased all the threads. Done. Got some packages in the mail this week. A decent deal on tires and no shipping from N.C. And a reconditioned dash from one of our forum members. Very nice indeed. Thanks Bob.

Another batch of small parts done this week. One of these days I will get the Kohler pulled and the Dash/Steering tower off and get to work on the Transaxle. No snow to plow like the members in the N.E. but my garage is to dern cold. A friend at work who is a puller brought me in a muffler off of one of his spare engines and it cleaned up real nice. He is bringing me a seat next week.

On January 19th our local club, the South Jersey Gas Engine Club, drove to Cochranville PA to see this collection. James had an excavating business so his collection consists of Cletracs, Caterpillers, Monarchs, C.L. Best, and other tracked equipment. He also has a Buffalo Springfield. Buffalo Springfield? Wasn't that the name of a band that sang Vietnam War protest songs? "somethings happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear, there's a man with a gun over there, telling me I got to beware..........." Whoa, I just had a 60's flashback. Anyhow, James also collects old dealer signs, advertising items, pedal tractors and a little bit of everything. It was a very interesting visit. It's funny, I've driven past his house hundreds of times and never realized what he had in the barn. He's only about 5 miles down the road from Charlie, wonder if he knows about it? After the visit we drove a few miles further west and had lunch at the Dutchway Smorgasbord. Delicious! when we were done eating, some of us headed home while others continued on and visited the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum in nearby Strasburg PA. All in all, it was a very good day.

Thanks Keith. I sometimes think I put to much time in the details. I dont know that I will have the patience to continue with the detail as I progress.. I would like to have this thing done when the weather breaks and I can spray the sheet metal. I did a car 20 years ago and assisted on 2 others and I shutter to think about the man hours I spent doing it. I took this to this I was a lot younger then and it was a labor of love. It was a joy to do it but I never want to do it again. Garden tractors are more my size now.

I have a large work shop all to myself where I work. I also work on parts and what not at lunch time, and on the weekends. I refurbed this Economy tractor in the shop at work. The Boss loved it! Your tractor is coming along nicely!
